Li3PO4 Coated Li[Ni0.75Co0.1Mn0.15]O2 Cathode for All-Solid-State Batteries Based on Sulfide Electrolyte

  • Surface coating of cathodes is an essential process for all-solid-state batteries (ASSBs) based on sulfide electrolytes as it efficiently suppresses interfacial reactions between oxide cathodes and sulfide electrolytes. Based on computational calculations, Li3PO4 has been suggested as a promising coating material because of its higher stability with sulfides and its optimal ionic conductivity. However, it has hardly been applied to the coating of ASSBs due to the absence of a suitable coating process, including the selection of source material that is compatible with ASSBs. In this study, polyphosphoric acid (PPA) and (NH4)2HPO4 were used as source materials for preparing a Li3PO4 coating for ASSBs, and the properties of the coating layer and coated cathodes were compared. The Li3PO4 layer fabricated using the (NH4)2HPO4 source was rough and inhomogeneous, which is not suitable for the protection of the cathodes. Moreover, the water-based coating solution with the (NH4)2HPO4 source can deteriorate the electrochemical performance of high-Ni cathodes that are vulnerable to water. In contrast, when an alcohol-based solvent was used, the PPA source enabled the formation of a thin and homogeneous coating layer on the cathode surface. As a consequence, the ASSBs containing the Li3PO4-coated cathode prepared by the PPA source exhibited significantly enhanced discharge and rate capabilities compared to ASSBs containing a pristine cathode or Li3PO4-coated cathode prepared by the (NH4)2HPO4 source.

  • Penicillium sp. CB-20 이 생성하는 polygalacturonase의 최대 효소활성을 위한 pH는 5.0, 최적온도는 4$0^{\circ}C$였으며, 이 효소는 약산성의 pH에서 안정성을 보였고, 온도에 의한 안정성은 3$0^{\circ}C$였으며 4$0^{\circ}C$이상에서는 급격한 효소단백질의 불활성화가 진행되었다. 금속이온 중 $Mg^{++}$, $Zn^{++}$, $Ba^{++}$ 등이 활성을 촉진시켰고, Ag$^{+}$, Cu$^{++}$, Pb$^{++}$, Fe$^{+++}$, $Ca^{++}$, $Na^{++}$, Mnc 등은 효소활성을 저해하였으며, 본 균주가 생성하는 호소의 $K_m$값과 V$_{max}$값, 활성화에너지는 2.13$\times$$10^{-2}$mol/$\ell$, 104.17 $\mu$mol/min, 2,499 Kcal/mol 이었으며, pectin보다 polygalacturonic acid를 특이 적으로 분해하였다. 효소저해제 중 EDTA, DNP, $H_2O$$_2$ 등에 의해 효소활성이 제해되어 효소분자 중의 금속이 활성에 관여하며, 말단 아미노기와 histidine의 imidazole기가 효소활성에 관여함이 입증되었던 반면에 효소분자 중 SH기는 활성에 관여하지 않음을 알 수 있었다. 이 효소의 기질분해 양상을 종이 크로마토그라피로 확인한 결과 반응초기에는 monomer, dimer oligomer 등이 생성되었고 시간이 경과할수록 oligomer는 사라지고 monomer dimer 만이 생성되는 것으로 보아 endo 형인 것으로 판단되었으며, 효소의 과즙청징도 측정에서는 약 8 unit 에서 거의 청징화되었다.

관행농 및 유기농 사과과수원 토양의 양분함량 비교 (Comparison of Soil Nutrient Status in Conventional and Organic Apple Farm)

  • 유기농업체계가 토양의 비옥도와 지속가능성에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위하여 유기농 사과과수원 토양의 양분상태를 관행농과 비교하여 조사하였다. 동일한 토양에 조성된 인접한 유기농 및 관행농 사과과수원을 선정하여 2006년 5월부터 10월까지 월별로 5-20 cm 깊이의 토양을 채취하였으며, 유기물, 총 질소 및 무기질소, 유효인산, 교환성 양이온, 가용성 미량원소의 함량을 조사하였다. 평균 유기물 함량은 유기농과 관행농 과수원 토양에서 각각 63.3 및 $31.0g\;kg^{-1}$으로 유기농 과수원 토양에서 훨씬 높았다. 총 질소 함량은 평균값으로 유기농과 관행농 과수원 토양에서 각각 3.3 및 $1.7g\;kg^{-1}$이었다. 유기농 과수원 토양에서는 암모늄 및 질산태 질소 함량이 작기 중에 비교적 안정한 수준을 지속적으로 유지하였으나 관행농 과수원 토양에서는 화학비료 시용으로 인하여 조사 초기에 그 함량이 아주 높았으며 8월까지 급격히 감소하였다. 유기농 과수원의 경우 유효인산은 5월에는 관행농 과수원에 비하여 낮았으나, 작기가 진행되면서 지속적으로 증가하여 8월에는 그 함량이 $1000mg\;P_2O_5\;kg^{-1}$ 이상으로 나타났다. 유효인산은 관행농과 유기농 과수원 모두에서 적정수준인 $200-300mg\;P_2O_5\;kg^{-1}$보다 훨씬 높았다. 교환성 K, Ca, Mg 함량은 관행농에 비하여 유기농 과수원 토양에서 상대적으로 높았다. 가용성 Cu, Fe, Mn 함량은 관행농 과수원 토양에서 높았으며, 0.1 N HCl 가용성 Zn 함량은 반대로 유기농 과수원 토양에서 높았다. 이상의 결과에서 보면 관행농과 유기농 과수원 토양 모두에서 각종 양분함량이 적정수준보다 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 화학비료를 사용하는 관행농에 비하여 유기농 과수원 토양에서 각종 양분 함량이 오히려 높았다. 이러한 양분 과다 현상은 토양과 주변 환경에 부정적인 영향을 미칠 것이며, 유기농업의 근본 목적에도 벗어나는 결과이다.

망간산화물(Birnessite)을 이용한 1- Indanone 제거 시 페놀계 반응매개체와 휴믹산(HA) 영향 평가 (Effect of Phenolic Mediators and Humic Acid on the Removal of 1-Indanone Using Manganese Oxide)

  • 본 연구에서는 PAHs 오염토양의 자연 풍화 및 화학적 생물학적 처리과정에서 반응부산물로 흔히 발견되는 PAH-케톤화합물인 1-indanon (1-ID)을 대상으로 페놀계 반응매개체 존재 하에서의 망간산화물에 의한 산화 변환 제거특성 및 용존 자연유기물인 휴믹산(HA)의 존재에 따른 영향을 조사하였다. 반응성 평가 실험은 수용액 상에서 회분식(10 mg/L 1-ID, 0.3 mM phenolic mediators, $1.0g/L\;{\delta}-MnO_2$, at pH 5)으로 수행 하였으며, 페놀계의 반응매개체(phenolic mediator)는 자연산 페놀화합물로서 휴믹물질의 모델 화합물로서도 널리 사용되고 있는 11종을 사용하였다. 실험결과 1-ID은 망간산화물 자체에 대하여는 비반응성을 띠었으나 페놀계 반응매개체 존재 하에서 교차-결합(cross-coupling)반응을 통해 제거됨을 HPLC 분석을 통해 확인하였으며, 1-ID의 제거율은 반응 2일 경과 후 9.2~71.2%범위에서 페놀계 반응매개체의 구조적 특성에 따라 다르게 나타났다. 각 반응매개체 존재 하에서의 1-ID의 교차결합 반응은 유사1차 반응 속도식을 따랐으며, 초기 반응속도 상수 값($K_{int}$, $hr^{-1}$)은 0.48~15.0의 넓은 범위에서 나타났다. 1-ID의 제거효율(제거율, 속도상수)은 -OH, $-OCH_3$ 등 전자주게(electron donating) 작용기를 포함하는 반응매개체에서 높았으며, -COOH, -CHO 등 전자받게(electron withdrowing) 작용기를 포함하는 반응매개체일수록 낮았다. 또한 동일 반응 조건에서 HA 존재에 따른 영향을 검토한 결과 낮은 HA 농도(< 2 mg/L) 조건에서는 1-ID 제거효율의 상승효과를 보였으나 전체적으로는 HA 주입 농도가 증가할수록 교차 결합 반응효율이 저하됨을 확인하였다.

Purification and Characterization of Chitinase from a New Species Strain, Pseudomonas sp. TKU008

  • The chitinase-producing strain TKU008 was isolated from soil in Taiwan, and it was identified as a new species of Pseudomonas. The culture condition suitable for production of chitinase was found to be shaking at $30^{\circ}C$ for 4 days in 100 ml of medium containing 1% shrimp and crab shell powder, 0.1% $K_2HPO_4$, and 0.05% $MgSO_4{\cdot}7H_2O$ (pH 7). The TKU008 chitinase was suppressed by the simultaneously existing protease, which also showed the maximum activity at the fourth day of incubation. The molecular mass of the chitinase was estimated to be 40 kDa by SDS-PAGE. The optimum pH, optimum temperature, pH stability, and thermal stability of the chitinase were pH 7, $50^{\circ}C$, pH 6-7, and <$50^{\circ}C$, respectively. The chitinase was completely inhibited by $Mn^{2+}$ and $Cu^{2+}$. The results of peptide mass mapping showed that 11 tryptic peptides of the chitinase were identical to the chitinase CW from Bacillus cereus (GenBank Accession No. gi 45827175) with a 32% sequence coverage.

Characterization of a Novel Fibrinolytic Enzyme, BsfA, from Bacillus subtilis ZA400 in Kimchi Reveals Its Pertinence to Thrombosis Treatment

  • Recently, the cardiovascular disease has been widely problematic in humans probably due to fibrin formation via the unbalanced Western style diet. Although direct (human plasmin) and indirect methods (plasminogen activators) have been available, bacterial enzyme methods have been studied because of their cheap and mass production. To detect a novel bacterial fibrinolytic enzyme, 111 bacterial strains with fibrinolytic activity were selected from kimchi. Among them, 14 strains were selected because of their stronger activity than 0.02 U of plasmin. Their 16S rRNA sequence analysis revealed that they belong to Bacillus, Leuconostoc, Propionibacterium, Weissella, Staphylococcus, and Bifidobacterium. The strain B. subtilis ZA400, with the highest fibrinolytic activity, was selected and the gene encoding fibrinolytic enzyme (bsfA) was cloned and expressed in the E. coli overexpression system. The purified enzyme was analyzed with SDS-PAGE, western blot, and MALDI-TOF analyses, showing to be 28.4 kDa. Subsequently, the BsfA was characterized to be stable under various stress conditions such as temperature (4-40oC), metal ions (Mn2+, Ca2+, K2+, and Mg2+), and inhibitors (EDTA and SDS), suggesting that BsfA could be a good candidate for development of a novel fibrinolytic enzyme for thrombosis treatment and may even be useful as a new bacterial starter for manufacturing functional fermented foods.

액침진탕 배양에 의한 Monascus sp..가 생산하는 적색색소에 관한 연구 제1보 균주의 분리 및 색소생산 배양 조건 (Studies on the Red Pigment Produced by Monascus sp. in Submerged Culture. Part I Isolation of Strain and Cultural Conditions of Pigment Produced)

  • 적색색소의 생산을 위하여 태국산 tapioca chips와 곡자, 공기, 식물의 잎으로부터 우수한 균주를 선별하였고 이의 형태적 특성을 조사 동정하였다. 배양조건으로 온도, pH, 탄소원, 질소원, 통기효과, amino산, vitamin, 무기염류 등이 색소생산에 미치는 영향을 조사하여 최적조건을 구하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1) 선별된 균주는 형태적 특성을 근거로 균사에 격벽과 균사체끝에 피자기를 가지고 자낭포자와 분생포자를 만들며 특수구조인 후피포자가 있는 Monascus sp. 로 동정되었다. 2) 최적 배양조건은 온도 32~33$^{\circ}C$, pH 6.5, 탄소원으로 Tapioca chips 분말 3.5%, 질소원으로 NaNO$_3$ 0.2%, 금속이온은 MnO$_2$ 0.001% 첨가가 가장 좋았고 통기효과는 100/500mι(v/v) 진탕배양 (180rpm)에서 4일 배양이 가장 효과적이었다.

적층 PTC 써미스터의 전기적 특성에 대한 재산화의 영향 (Effect of Re-oxidation on the Electrical Properties of Mutilayered PTC Thermistors)

  • The alumina substrates that Ni electrode was printed on and the multi-layered PTCR thermistors of which composition is $(Ba_{0.998}Ce_{0.002})TiO_3+0.001MnCO_3+0.05BN$ were fabricated by a thick film process, and the effect of re-oxidation temperature on their resistivities and resistance jumps were investigated, respectively. Ni electroded alumina substrate and the multi-layered PTC thermistor were sintered at $1150^{\circ}C$ for 2 h under $PO_2=10^{-6}$ Pa and then re-oxidized at $600{\sim}850^{\circ}C$ for 20 min. With increasing the re-oxidation temperature, the room temperature resistivity increased and the resistance jump ($LogR_{290}/R_{25}$) decreased, which seems to be related to the oxidation of Ni electrode. The small sized chip PTC thermistor such as 2012 and 3216 exhibits a nonlinear and rectifying behavior in I-V curve but the large sized chip PTC thermistor such as 4532 and 6532 shows a linear and ohmic behavior. Also, the small sized chip PTC thermistor such as 2012 and 3216 is more dependent on the re-oxidation temperature and easy to be oxidized in comparison with the large sized chip PTC thermistor such as 4532 and 6532. So, the re-oxidation conditions of chip PTC thermistor may be determined by considering the chip size.

마찰접합 된 A6063 합금의 미세조직과 기계적 특성 평가 (Evaluation of the Microstructures and Mechanical Properties on Friction Welded A6063 Alloy)

  • This study was carried out to evaluate the developed microstructures and mechanical properties of friction welded A6063 alloy. For this work, specimens were prepared at a size of 12 mm ${\O}{\times}80mm$, and friction welding was carried out at a rotation speed of 2,000 RPM, friction pressure of $12kgf/cm^2$ and upset pressure of $25kgf/cm^2$. To perform an analysis of the grain boundary characteristic distributions, such as the grain size, orientation and misorientation angle distributions, the electron back-scattering diffraction method was used. In addition, in order to identify the dispersed intermetallic compounds of the base and welded materials, transmission electron microscopy was used. The experimental results found that the application of friction welding on A6063 led to significant grain refinement of the welded zone relative to that of the base material. Besides this, intermetallic compounds such as AlMnSi and $Al_2Cu$ were found to be dispersed with more refined size relative to that of the base material. This formation retains the mechanical properties of the welds, which results in the fracture aspect at the base material zone. Therefore, based on the developed microstructures and mechanical properties, the application of friction welding on A6063 could be used to obtain a sound weld zone.

저수지 준설대상 토양의 이화학적 특성 (Physicochemical Characteristics of Dredged Soils in Reservoirs)

  • This study was carried out to examine the physicochemical characteristics of dredged soils in reservoirs. Surveys and analyses of basic materials were made on 241 of 2,328 reservoirs in Chonbuk province through 2 years from December 1994 to November 1996. The results of this study are summarized as follows : 1. Soils were classified as 15 types according to physical properties, and some soils contain comparatively high percentage of sand and gravel. Considering only soil textures, useful and economical soils as aggregate are approximately 25% in all, and the other soils are arable for farm planting. 2. The results of chemical analyses of soils showed on the average 5.9 in pH, 1.lmmhos/cm in ECe, 14.6me/l00g in CEC, 460.0ppm in T-N, 119.0ppm in T-P, 264.9ppm in K, 134.2ppm in Na, l,335.0ppm in Ca, 575.9ppm in Mg, 486.Sppm in Fe, 57.7ppm in Mn, 3.3ppm in Cu, 21.9ppm in Zn, 0.49ppm in As, 0.34ppm in Cd, 0.O3ppm in Hg, 1.7% in OM, respectively. 3. General chemical components, heavy metals, organic matter contents were analyzed as similar to tlie mean values of common soils, therefore it was considered to be no significant effects on crop growth in the chemical properties. 4. Accodingly, the physicochemical characteristics of soils ought to be analyzed accurately before dredging for effective using of dredged soils. And it will be more effective, if the dredged soils are used with proper balance among each content of components with considering to the physicochemical properties of common soils.
