Design of L-Band High Speed Pulsed High Power Amplifier Using LDMOS FET (LDMOS FET를 이용한 L-대역 고속 펄스 고전력 증폭기 설계)

  • In this paper, we design and fabricate the L-band high speed pulsed HPA using LDMOS FET. And we propose the high voltage and high speed switching circuit for LDMOS FET. The pulsed HPA using LDMOS FET is simpler than using GaAs FET because it has a high gain, high output power and sin81e voltage supply. LDMOS FET is suitable for pulsed HPA using switching method because it has $2{\sim}3$ times higher maximum drain-source voltage(65 V) than operating drain-source voltage($V_{ds}=26{\sim}28\;V$). As results of test, the output peak power is 100 W at 1.2 GHz, the rise/fall time of output RF pulse are 28.1 ns/26.6 ns at 2 us pulse width with 40 kHz PRF, respectively.

  • In this paper, to operate 2.4 GHz Inverted-L antenna with On-Board Broadband characteristics is proposed. The antenna was designed on the system board, the bandwidth by adjusting the reactance of the antenna that was formed common-mode and differential-mode on the antenna stubs has been improved. The system size is $80mm{\times}60mm$, the size of the antenna was limited to $30mm{\times}60mm$, the thickness of FR4 dielectric substrate is 0.8 mm, FR4 dielectric constant 4.4 is used. The experimental results, the bandwidth from 17.2 to 24.1 %, the gain is 3.01~4.71 dB, omni-directional radiation pattern characteristics were obtained. By a mobile terminal design applying the results of the paper, the handset's price competitiveness and production efficiency can be improved.

Studies on Pharmacological effects of Glasswort (Salicornia herbacea L.) (퉁퉁마디의 약리효과에 관한 연구)

  • This study was designed to investigate the pharmacological effects of glasswort. SD rats drunk experimental water (added to glass wort extracts) for 4 weeks. Weight gain resulted in reduced by administration of glasswort extracts compared with control group(p < 0.05). Total protein and albumin contents in serum of SD rats for 4 weeks did not show significantly difference by administration of glasswort extracts compared with control group. GOT was $126.7{\sim}134.1\;U/L$ and GPT was $41.1{\sim}46.7\;U/L$ by administration of glasswort extracts in SD rats for 4 weeks. Total and LDL cholesterol contents in serum of SD rats significantly decreased by administration of glasswort extracts compared with control group(p < 0.05) HDl cholesterol contents in serum of SD rats was significantly increased by administration of glasswort extracts compared with control group(p < 0.05). Total lipid and triglyceride contents in serum of SD rats was significantly decreased by administration of glasswort extracts compared with control group (p < 0.05). The overall results suggest that the administration of glasswort extracts can not only prevent a disease of arteriosclerosis, hyperlipidemia, fatty liver but also inhibit of weight gain.

Optimization of Submerged Fermentation Medium for Matrine Production by Aspergillus terreus, an Endophytic Fungus Harboring Seeds of Sophora flavescens, Using Response Surface Methodology

  • Different endophytes isolated from the seeds of Sophora flavescens were tested for their ability to produce matrine production. Response surface methodology (RSM) was applied to optimize the medium components for the endophytic fungus. Results indicated that endophyte Aspergillus terreus had the ability to produce matrine. The single factor tests demonstrated that potato starch was the best carbon source and the combination of peptone and $NH_4NO_3$ was the optimal nitrogen source for A. terreus. The model of RSM predicted to gain the maximal matrine production at $20.67{\mu}g/L$, when the potato starch was 160.68 g/L, peptone was 24.96 g/L and $NH_4NO_3$ was 2.11 g/L. When cultured in the optimal medium, the matrine yield was an average of $20.63{\pm}0.11{\mu}g/L$, which was consistent with the model prediction. This study offered an alternative source for the matrine production by endophytic fungus fermentation and may have far-reaching prospect and value.

The Design of Miniature Microstrip Fractal Patch Antenna Using L-shaped Feeding Structure. (L-형급전구조를 이용한 소형 마이크로스트립 Fractal 패치 안테나 설계)

  • In this paper, We have designed miniature microstrip patch antenna based on fractal structure using L-shaped feeding structure for 4G mobile communication applications. Miniature antenna has achieved by the presence of unusual fundamental resonant mode which we call "crossed-diagonal"(CD)current. Using CST Microwave Studio 5.0, patch antenna was designed. The simulated input return loss showed the bandwidth of 1.2647[GHz]($2.944{\sim}4.209GHz$), 35.4% below -10dB. The gain of E, H-plane was achieved 8.3dBi and 8.4dBi respectively. And beamwidth of 3dB in the E, H-plane was $40.6^{\circ}$ and $81.6^{\circ}$, respectively.

A Design and Manufacture of Modified Rhombus Slot UWB antenna with Fork-shaped-Feedline (포크 모양의 급전 구조를 갖는 변형된 마름모 슬롯 UWB 안테나 설계 및 제작)

  • In this paper, we propose a modified rhombus slot UWB(Ultra Wide Band) antenna with fork-shaped feeding structure. The proposed antenna is modified rhombus slot structure and fork-shaped feeding structure to get ultra-wideband characteristics for UWB communication. Modified rhombus slot structure consists of slot shaped which eliminated upper and lower part of the basic rhombus slot. The antenna is designed on an FR-4 substrate of which the dielectric constant is 4.4, and its overall size is $34mm(W_1){\times}34mm(L_1){\times}1mm(t)$, and its slot antenna size is $30mm(W_2){\times}16.75mm(L_3+L_4)$. After carrying out the simulation of each parameters, optimized values are obtained. From the fabricated and measured results, return loss of the proposed antenna satisfied Return Loss -10dB in 3.1 ~ 10.6 GHz. And measured results of gain and radiation patterns characteristics displayed for operating bands.

Effect of Dietary Essential Oils on Growth, Feed Utilization and Meat Yields of White Leg Shrimp L. vannamei

  • Effect of dietary essential oils on growth, feed utilization and meat yields of white leg shrimp L. vannamei was investigated. White shrimp fry weighing 0.62 g were kept in one of 12 tanks (75 head/500 L holding tank) in a closed recirculation system. Four experimental diets, a commercial diet (control), phytoncide oil (PO), oregano oil (OO) and fermented garlic liquid (GL) were fed for 16 weeks. The mean water quality values for the whole experimental period were $27.8{\pm}1^{\circ}C$, $7.6{\pm}0.3$, $15.5{\pm}0.3$ g/L and $6.1{\pm}0.3$ mg/L for water temperature, pH, salinity and dissolved oxygen, respectively. At the end of the trial, 10 shrimp per tank were randomly sampled and meat yields (%) were evaluated after peeling the shell and removing the head. After a 16 week feeding trial, final weight of shrimp ranged from 21.9 g to 23.6 g. Feed conversion was not significantly different among groups (p>0.05), which was the lowest (1.95) in the control and highest (2.30) in the PO. Specific growth rate was also not significantly different (p>0.05) and ranged from 3.18% to 3.25%. Average daily gain of 0.2 g was obtained in all treatments. Mortality varied from 35.1% for control to 44.9% for OO. Meat yields maintained constant at 52.1% for control to 53.0% for PO. The study suggested that natural essential oils could not exert any improvement in growth performance, mortality and meat yields of white leg shrimp.

And measured results of gain and radiation patterns characteristics displayed determined for operating bands.

  • In this paper, a monopole type antenna applicable to WLAN and WiMAX standard frequency bands is designed and fabricated. The proposed antenna is designed to have rectangular ring and rectangular patch based on microstrip feeding for triple band characteristics and inserted two stub in the top of the rectangular ring patch to enhance impedance bandwidth characteristics. The proposed antenna has $18.0mm(2W_1+W_2){\times}33.0mm(L_7+L_8+L_9)$ on a dielectric substrate of $27.0mm(W_1){\times}44mm(L_1){\times}1.0mm$ size. From the fabrication and measurement results, impedance bandwidths of 660MHz (2,08 to 2.74GHz) for 2.4/2.5MHz band, 488MHz (3.40 to 3.88GHz) for 3.5MHz band, and 2,180MHz (4.61 to 6.79GHz) for 5,000MHz band were obtained based on the impedance bandwidth. The proposed antenna also obtained the measured gain and radiation pattern in the anechoic chamber.

A Study on Implementation and Performance of the Power Control High Power Amplifier for Satellite Mobile Communication System (위성통신용 전력제어 고출력증폭기의 구현 및 성능평가에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, the 3-mode variable gain high power amplifier for a transmitter of INMARSAT-B operating at L-band(1626.5-1646.5 MHz) was developed. This SSPA can amplify 42 dBm in high power mode, 38 dBm in medium power mode and 36 dBm in low power mode for INMARSAT-B. The allowable errol sets +1 dBm as the upper limit and -2 dBm as the lower limit, respectively. To simplify the fabrication process, the whole system is designed by two parts composed of a driving amplifier and a high power amplifier. The HP's MGA-64135 and Motorola's MRF-6401 were used for driving amplifier, and the ERICSSON's PTE-10114 and PTF-10021 for the high power amplifier. The SSPA was fabricated by the RP circuits, the temperature compensation circuits and 3-mode variable gain control circuits and 20 dB parallel coupled-line directional coupler in aluminum housing. In addition, the gain control method was proposed by digital attenuator for 3-mode amplifier. Then il has been experimentally verified that the gain is controlled for single tone signal as well as two tone signals. In this case, the SSPA detects the output power by 20 dB parallel coupled-line directional coupler and phase non-splitter amplifier. The realized SSPA has 41.6 dB, 37.6 dB and 33.2 dB for small signal gain within 20 MHz bandwidth, and the VSWR of input and output port is less than 1.3:1. The minimum value of the 1 dB compression point gets more than 12 dBm for 3-mode variable gain high power amplifier. A typical two tone intermodulation point has 36.5 dBc maximum which is single carrier backed off 3 dB from 1 dB compression point. The maximum output power of 43 dBm was achieved at the 1636.5 MHz. These results reveal a high power of 20 Watt, which was the design target.
