  • The objective of this study was to compare the bioefficacy of L-lysine sulfate relative to L-lysine${\cdot}$HCl for 10 to 20 kg pigs. Two experiments were conducted to determine the bioefficacy of the two sources of lysine using daily gain, feed conversion, plasma urea nitrogen and nitrogen retention as the response criteria. In experiment 1, 168 crossbred barrows ($Landrace{\times}Large$ White), weaned at $28{\pm}3$ d ($9.07{\pm}0.78$kg body weight), were allotted to one of seven dietary treatments in a $2{\times}3$ (two lysine $sources{\times}three $ lysine levels) factorial arrangement of treatments with an added negative control treatment group. The basal diet was based on corn, peanut meal and soybean meal and provided 0.67% lysine. The basal diet was supplemented with 0.1, 0.2 or 0.3% lysine equivalents supplied from either L-lysine sulfate or L-lysine${\cdot}$HCl. Each treatment was fed to six pens of pigs with four pigs per pen. The trial lasted 21 days. The relative bioefficacy value of lysine in L-lysine sulfate using daily gain, feed conversion and plasma urea nitrogen as response criteria was 1.01, 1.05 and 1.04 of the lysine in L-lysine${\cdot}$HCl, respectively. In experiment 2, 42 crossbred ($Landrace{\times}Large$ White) pigs ($16.03{\pm}1.58$ kg body weight) were housed in stainless steel metabolism cages for 10 d and fed the seven diets used in the nitrogen-balance trial. The relative bioefficacy value of L-lysine sulfate was estimated to be 0.95 as effective as L-lysine${\cdot}$HCl for nitrogen retention on an equimolar basis. The t-test analysis revealed that bioefficacy of lysine in L-lysine sulfate was not significantly different from lysine in L-lysine${\cdot}$HCl, which was set at 1.00. In conclusion, L-lysine sulfate can be used instead of L-lysine${\cdot}$HCl to fortify lysine-deficient diets fed to 10 to 20 kg pigs.

  • In this paper, we consider the design of $H_\infty$ high-gain state feedback control for time-delayed linear systems with limited actuator capacities. The high-gain control means that the control permits the predetermined degree of saturation. Based on new Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, we derive a result in the form of matrix inequalities. The matrix inequalities are consisted of LMIs those confirm the positive definiteness of Lyapunov- Krasovskii functional, satisfaction of predetermined degree of saturation, reachable set and $L_2$ gain constraint. The result is dependent on the bound of time-delay and its rate, predetermined degree of saturation, actuator capacity, and the allowed size of disturbances. Finally, we give a numerical example to show the effectiveness and usefulness of our result.

  • In this paper, we consider the design of gam scheduled controllers for linear systems with input saturation. We obtain a reachable set and a control gain, which guarantees that the controls are never saturated inside this reachable set and that the $L_2$ gain is minimized, from matrix inequalities. This proposed gain scheduled control gives better performance than that of static control case, and we present the simulation results to show the usefulness of the proposed control.

  • In this paper, a method to be able to decide the possible maximum gain of P, PI control for the retarded processes under stable condition is proposed. At first, adjustable parameter set causing stability limit are obtained based on the frequency domain condition which makes the roots of transfer function locate on the $j\omega$ axis. And the cut-in frequency $\omega{_p}$ to bring the parameter set to P control from PI control is derived by an equation with 2 parameters L and $T_m$ given, then $\omega{_p}$ is used to compute the maximum gain with stable condition. For the calculation, the controlled process of first order system with time delay element is introduced and all parameters are presumed to be time invariant.

  • A series of N-benzoylated ligands incorporating three different benzoyl groups 2,2'-(benzoyliminodiethylene)-4-substituted phenols ($L^{1,4,7}$), 2,2'-(4-nitrobenzoyliminodiethylene)-4-substituted phenols ($L^{2,5,8}$) and 2,2'-(3,5-dinitrobenzoyliminodiethylene)-4-substituted phenols ($L^{3,6,9}$) were synthesized and characterized by IR, $^1H$ NMR, $^{13}C$ NMR and mass spectroscopy. The In vitro antibacterial activity of investigated ligands were tested against human pathogenic bacteria such as four Gram (-) Enterococcus faecalis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Vibrio cholera, Vibrio harveyi and two Gram (+) Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus mutans. Furthermore, docking studies were undertaken to gain insight into the possible binding mode of these compounds with the binding site of the topoisomerase II (PDB: 4FM9) enzyme which is involved in DNA superhelicity and chromosome seggregation. The N-benzoylated derivatives $L^{5,7,8}$ have significant anticancer activity as Topoisomerase inhibitors. The ligands $L^5$ and $L^8$ were tested for their anticancer activity against human liver adenocarcinoma (HepG2) cell line with the MTT assay.

  • This paper drives the exact expression of bit error rate(BER) performance for groupwise iterative-multipath interference cancellation(GWI-MPIC) algorithm for cancelling multipath interference components in a coherent high-speed downlink packet access(HSDPA) system of W-CDMA downlink and the BER performance is evaluated by numerical analysis. The performance of GWI-MPIC is compared to the successive interference cancellation(SIC) algorithm for multipath components. From numerical results, the optimal average BER performance of weighting factor ${\beta}$$\_$h/ for interference cancellation is obtained at ‘${\beta}$$\_$h/=0.8’ and then this weighting factor is hereafter applied to other performance analysis. Numerical results showed that the average BER performance of GWI-MPIC algorithm is rapidly degraded at multipath L=6, but is revealed the good performance than that of SIC algorithm in terms of increasing the number of multipath. This results also indicated that the average BER performance is greatly degraded due to increasing interference power more than multicode K=8. The average BER performance of the proposed algorithm is superior to the performance of SIC algorithm about 3 ㏈ for processing gain PG=128 at multipath L=2 and Average BER=1.0${\times}$10$\^$-5/. And also, the results produced good performance in case of linear monotonic reduction of multipath fading channel gain than that of constant channel gain variation, because multipath fading channel gain which is arrived later is small.

  • This paper presents the design of linear and circular polarization baseball- shaped circular microstrip antenna (BCMA) with 3-dimensional structure using perturbation effect to reduce its size, which runs at 1.575GHz frequency bandwidth. As a result, the size of linear polarized antenna could be reduced up to 23.7% in patch diameter and 41.8% in its area. Linear polarized antenna has -26.04dB of return loss, 69MHz(4.38%) of -l0dB bandwidth, 4.51dBd of gain, and its -3dB beamwidth are 99$^{\circ}$ in E-plane, 83$^{\circ}$ in H-plane. Circular polarized antenna has -17.43dB of return loss, 113.7MHz(7.2%) of -l0dB bandwidth, 2dBd of gain, 2dB of axial ratio and its -3dB beamwidth are 87$^{\circ}$, 86$^{\circ}$ x-axis polarized, 80$^{\circ}$, 84$^{\circ}$ y-axis polarized. It has 82mm of diameter, which is 28.5% of linear polarized CMPA. Therefore, in this paper we verified that baseball-shaped 3-dimensional structure of circular microstrip patch antenna applied with perturbation effect is appropriate for miniaturization.

  • Thick metal 0.8${\mu}m$ CMOS technology on high resistivity substrate(RF CMOS technology) is demonstrated for the L-band RF IC applications, and we successfully implemented it to the monolithic 900 MHz and 1.9 GHz CMOS LNAs for the first time. To enhance the performance of the RF circuits, MOSFET layout was optimized for high frequency operation and inductor quality was improved by modifying the technology. The fabricated 1.9 GHz LNA shows a gain of 15.2 dB and a NF of 2.8 dB at DC consumption current of 15mA that is an excellent noise performance compared with the offchip matched 1.9 GHz CMOS LNAs. The 900 MHz LNA shows a high gain of 19 dB and NF of 3.2 dB despite of the performance degradation due to the integrating of a 26 nH inductor for input match. The proposed RF CMOS technology is a compatibel process for analog CMOS ICs, and the monolithic LNAs employing the technology show a good and uniform RF performance in a five inch wafer.

  • This study was conducted to examine the possibility of Salicornia herbacea L. powder as a functional food beneficially affecting carbohydrate metabolism and antioxidant capacity. Twenty-four, 6-week old, maleSprague-Dawleyrats were classified into three groups: normal diet control (CON), high-fat diet control (HFC) and high fat diet + Salicornia herbacea L. (SHF). Related feed was provided to each group for 4 weeks. Weight gain rate increased most in the HFC rats, and the concentration of glucose was significantly high in both the HFC and SHF groups, compared to the CON group. The SHF group showed a significantly high expression rate of Glut 4 (21.36%), compared to the CON and HFC groups. The glycogen content in muscle was significantly high in both the HFC and SHF groups, compared to the CON group. There were significant differences in the malondialdehydecontent in muscles between the groups, with the content in the CON and HFC groups being significantly higher than the SHF group. All the groups showed a similar tendency to each other in the liver tissue as well. Concerning the expression of Cu,Zn-super oxide dismutase andglutathione peroxidaseproteins, the SHF group was significantly higher than the CON and HFC groups. Overall, the experiment result above implies a possibility that an intake of Salicornia herbacea L. powder can regulate weight by decreasing the weight gain rate, further suggesting its effectiveness as a functional food before exercise by increasing the energy storage capacity and antioxidant capacity.
