The Scattering Property of EVA/SiO2 Composite Film Formed Micro-aggregation Structure for Roll-to-roll Process (Roll-to-roll 적용 가능한 마이크로 응집 구조를 갖는 EVA/SiO2 복합 필름의 산란 특성)

  • We fabricated high transmission and high scattering poly(ethylene-co-vinyl acetate)(EVA) films embedding $SiO_2$ nanoparticles to improve outcoupling efficiency in organic display. The 800nm diameter $SiO_2$ nanoparticles aggregated and formed $1.56{\mu}m$ (with ${\pm}0.853{\mu}m$ standard deviation) diameter microparticles in EVA. The total transmission of scattering film was 83.3% on Polyethylene terephthalate(PET), which was higher than reference 82.8% PET substrate. The diffuse transmission and haze of the $SiO_2$ embedded EVA film were 76.1% and 91.4%, respectively. The optimized condition was 1:1 weight ratio of $SiO_2$ nanoparticles to EVA in Tetrahydrofuran(THF) solution. When the ratio of $SiO_2$ was larger than 1, the total transmission decreased by the increase in backscattering of light due to high scattering. With the optimized condition, we could succeed to fabricate a large scale film(35m in length) with a roll-to-roll process.

  • The difference of plasma resistance between the CAS glass bulk and coating films were compared. Plasma resistance was confirmed by analyzing the etch rate and the microstructure of the surface when the CAS glass bulk and the glass coating film were etched with CF4/O2/Ar plasma gas. CAS glass coating film was etched up to 25 times faster than the glass bulk. A statistically high correlation between the surface roughness and the etching rate of the coating film was derived, and thus, the high surface roughness of the coating film was determined to cause rapid etching. In addition, cristobalite crystals that has a low Ca content and a high Si content, was foamed on the glass coating film. Therefore, the CAS glass coating film is considered to have low plasma resistance compared to the glass bulk.

  • SiC powder was heated in air over the temperature range of 1100-135$0^{\circ}C$. $\beta$-cristobalite was formed to cover the surfaces of SiC particles by the reaction: $SiC(s)+20_2(g)=SiO_2(s)+CO_2(g)$. It is assumed that the diffusion of oxygen ion through the formed surface layer of $\beta$-cristobalite controls the oxidation of the SiC particles. The diffusion coefficient of oxygen ion through the $\beta$-cristobalite layer was obtained as the following equation: $D=3.84{\times}10^{-17}$exp(-14.7/RT)

  • 적외선 감지기는 냉장고, 에어컨, 자동차용 전자부품 등의 온도측정 및 제어, 과잉 전류의 억제를 위한 소자로 널리 사용되며, 또한 최근에는 온도보상형 수정발진기(TCXO) 또는 RF모듈, 액정 판넬의 온도보상회로 등 정보통신기기의 신뢰성 향상을 위해 그 수요가 날로 증가하고 있다. 현재 상용되는 적외선 감지기의 대부분은 벌크형 또는 후막형으로 제조되고 있으나, 최근 반도체공정 기술의 발달로 인하여 보다 향상된 특성이 요구됨에 따라 박막형 등 새로운 형태의 적외선 감지기 대해 활발한 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 열 질량과 전도에 의한 열손실을 최소화하여 소자의 감도 및 응답 특성을 향상시키기 위하여 SiO$_2$Si$_3$N$_4$/SiO$_2$ (ONO)다중층 위에 소자 감지부를 형성하고 bulk-micromachining기술을 이용하여 멤브레인 구조를 갖는 박막형 적외선 감지기를 제작하였다.

Development of Copper and Copper Oxide Removal Technology Using Supercritical CO2 and Hexane for Silicon Solar Cell Recycling (실리콘 태양전지 재자원화를 위한 초임계 CO2 및 헥산을 이용한 구리 및 산화구리 제거기술 개발)

  • Lifetime of Si photovoltaics modules are about 25 years and a large amount of waste modules are expected to be discharged in the near future. Therefore, the extraction and collection of valuable metals out of discharged Si modules will be one of the important technologies. In this study, we demonstrated that supercritical $CO_2$ extraction method can be effectively used to remove Cu, one of the abundant elements in the module, as well as its oxide form, $Cu_2O$. Especially, we proved that the addition of hexane as co-solvent is effective for the removal of both materials. The optimal ratio of $CO_2$ and hexane was 4:1 at a fixed temperature and pressure of $250^{\circ}C$ and 250 bar, respectively. In addition, it was proven that the removal of $Cu_2O$ was preceded via reduction of $Cu_2O$ to Cu.

Synthesis of Low-Thermal-Expansion Cordierite Ceramics Prepared from Pyrophyllite (엽납석을 활용한 저열팽창 코디어라이트 세라믹스 합성)

  • A low thermal expansion ceramic, cordierite ($2MgO{\cdot}2Al_2O_3{\cdot}5SiO_2$), was synthesized using pyrophyllite. Pyrophyllite usually consists of $SiO_2$ and $Al_2O_3$, which are the main components of cordierite. $MgCO_3$ and $Al(OH)_3$ were added in various amounts to pyrophyllite and fired for synthesis and sintering. ${\alpha}$-cordierite crystallized from $1000^{\circ}C$ with mixing of 20 wt% $MgCO_3$ and 1.7 wt% $Al(OH)_3$, and un-reacted cristobalite was also detected with the cordierite. As the temperature was increased to $1400^{\circ}C$, the cordierite yield was gradually increased. Powder compacts of the synthesized cordierite were sintered between $1250^{\circ}C{\sim}1400^{\circ}C$; the sintered samples showed a low thermal expansion coefficient of $2.1{\times}10^{-6}/^{\circ}C$ and typical sintering behavior. It is anticipated that it will be possible to synthesize cordierite ceramics on a mass production scale using the mineral pyrophyllite.

Phase Evolution, Microstructure and Microwave Dielectric Properties of Zn1.9-2xLixAlxSi1.05O4 Ceramics

  • Phase evolution, microstructure, and microwave dielectric properties of $Li_2O$ and $Al_2O_3$ doped $Zn_{1.9}Si_{1.05}O_4$, i.e., $Zn_{1.9-2x}Li_xAl_x-Si_{1.05}O_4$, ceramics (x = 0.02 ~ 0.10) were investigated. The ceramics were densified by $SiO_2$-rich liquid phase composed of the Li-Al-Si-O system, indicating that doped Li and Al contributed to the formation of the liquid. As the secondary phase, ${\beta}$-spodumene solid solution with the composition of $LiAlSi_3O_8$ was precipitated from the liquid during the cooling process. The dense ceramics were obtained for the specimens of $$x{\geq_-}0.06$$ showing the rapid densification above $1000^{\circ}C$, implying that a certain amount of liquid is necessary to densify. The specimen of x = 0.06 sintered at $1050^{\circ}C$ exhibited good microwave dielectric properties; the dielectric constant and the quality factor ($Q{\times}f_0$) were 6.4 and 11,213 GHz, respectively.

  • 실리콘 박막 태양전지에서 전면 투명전도막(TCO)은 태양전지의 전기, 광학적 특성을 결정하는 중요한 기능을 한다. ZnO:Al TCO는 기존에 사용되던 $SnO_2:F$와는 비정질 실리콘(a-Si:H) 박막 태양전지의 윈도우 층으로 사용되는 p a-SiC:H와의 일함수(work function) 차이로 인해 접촉전위(contact barrier)를 형성하게 되며 이로 인해 태양전지의 충진율(fill factor)이 $SnO_2:F$에 비해 감소하는 단점을 보인다. 본 연구에서는 ZnO:Al/p a-SiC:H 계면의 접촉전위 발생원인 및 태양전지 충진율 감소현상에 관한 정확한 원인규명을 위해 다양한 특성을 갖는 버퍼층을 삽입하여 계면특성 및 태양전지의 동작특성을 분석하고자 한다.

Preparation of in situ Patterned ZnO Thin Films by Microcontact Printing (Microcontact Printing을 이용한 미세패턴 ZnO 박막 제조)

  • In situ patterned zinc oxide thin films were prepared by precipitation of Zn(NO$_3$)$_2$ aqueous solution containing urea and by microcontact printing using Self-Assembled Monolayers(SAMs) on A1/SiO$_2$/Si substrates. The visible precipitation of Zn(OH)$_2$ that was formed in the Zn(NO$_3$)$_2$ aqueous solution containing urea was enhanced with an increase of the reaction temperature and the amount of urea. As the reaction time of Zn(NO$_3$)$_2$ with urea was prolonged, the thickness and grain size of Zn(OH)$_2$ thin layers were increased, respectively. The optimum precipitation condition was at 80$\^{C}$ for 1 h for the solution with the ratio of Zn(NO$_3$)$_2$ to urea of 1 : 8. Homogeneous ZnO thin films were fabricated by the heat treatment of 600$\^{C}$ for 1 h of Zn(OH)$_2$ precipitation on Al/SiO$_2$/Si substrate. This was available to the in-situ patterned ZnO thin films with uniform grain size. Hydrophobic SAM, Octadecylphosphonic Acid(OPA) and hydrophilic SAM, 2-Carboxyethylphosphonic Acid(CPA) were applied on the Al/SiO$_2$/Si substrate by microcontact printing method. In situ patterned ZnO thin film was successfully prepared by the heat treatment of Zn(OH)$_2$ precipitated on the surface of hydrophilic SAM, CPA.
