Carbon nanotubes (CNT) were used as a catalyst support where catalytically active Pd and Pt metal particles decorated the outside of the external CNT walls. In this study, Pd and Pt nanoparticles supported on $HNO_3$-treated CNT were prepared by microwave-assisted heating of the polyol process using $PdCl_2$ and $H_2PtCl_6{\codt}6H_2O$ precursors, respectively, and were then characterized by SEM, TEM, and Raman. Raman spectroscopy showed that the acid treated CNT had a higher intensity ratio of $I_D/I_G$ compared to that of non-treated CNT, indicating the formation of defects or functional groups on CNT after chemical oxidation. Microwave irradiation for total two minutes resulted in the formation of Pd and Pt nanoparticles on the acid treated CNT. The sizes of Pd and Pt nanoparticles were found to be less than 10 nm and 3 nm, respectively. Furthermore, the $SnO_2$ films doped with CNT decorated by Pd and Pt nanoparticles were prepared, and then the $NO_2$ gas response of these sensor films was evaluated under $1{\sim}5\;ppm$$NO_2$ concentration at $200^{\circ}C$. It was found that the sensing property of the $SnO_2$ film sensor on $NO_2$ gas was greatly improved by the addition of CNT-supported Pd and Pt nanoparticles.

In this study, phthalocyanine thin films were prepared by vacuum sublimation method and investigated sensing characteristics of the films. The phthalocyannies used for the prepaation of the NO$_{x}$ sensors were metal-free Pc(H$_{2}$Pc) and metal Pc(CuPc, CoPc, PbPc). And the substrate temperatures maintained during the fomation of Pc films were varied between R.T. and 200$^{\circ]C$, and the base pressure was 5${\times}10^{6}$ torr. The relationships between NO$_{2}$ sensing properties and SEM analyses as a function of substrate temperatures during the formation of the films were investigated. Among the Pc films, PbPc film showed the best sensing characteristics. Particularlly, the PbPc films prepared at 70$^{\circ]C$ of the substrage temperature showen good sensitivity of 85% to 1ppm NO$_{2}$ gas at operating temperature 190$^{\circ]C$ and response time was about 24 seconds.
Peroxiredoxins (Prxs) are ubiquitously distributed and play important functions in diverse cellular signaling systems. The proteins are largely classified into three groups, such as typical 2-Cys Prx, atypical 2-Cys Prx, and 1-Cys Prx, that are distinguished by their catalytic mechanisms and number of Cys residues. From the three classes of Prxs, the typical 2-Cys Prx containing the two-conserved Cys residues at its N-terminus and C-terminus catalyzes $H_2O_2$ with the use of thioredoxin (Trx) as an electron donor. During the catalytic cycle, the N-terminal Cys residue undergoes a peroxide-dependent oxidation to sulfenic acid, which can be further oxidized to sulfinic acid at the presence of high concentrations of $H_2O_2$ and a Trx system containing Trx, Trx reductase, and NADPH. The sulfinic acid form of 2-Cys Prx is reduced by the action of sulfiredoxin which requires ATP as an energy source. Under the strong oxidative or heat shock stress conditions, 2-Cys Prx in eukaryotes rapidly switches its protein structure from low-molecular-weight species to high-molecular-weight protein structures. In accordance with its structural changes, the protein concomitantly triggers functional switching from a peroxidase to a molecular chaperone, which can protect its substrate denaturation from external stress. In addition to its N-terminal active site, the C-terminal domain including 'YF-motif' of 2-Cys Prx plays a critical role in the structural changes. Therefore, the C-terminal truncated 2-Cys Prxs are not able to regulate their protein structures and highly resistant to $H_2O_2$-dependent hyperoxidation, suggesting that the reaction is guided by the peroxidatic Cys residue. Based on the results, it may be concluded that the peroxidatic Cys of 2-Cys Prx acts as an '$H_2O_2$-sensor' in the cells. The oxidative stress-dependent regulation of 2-Cys Prx provides a means of defense systems in cells to adapt stress conditions by activating intracellular defense signaling pathways. Particularly, 2-Cys Prxs in plants are localized in chloroplasts with a dynamic protein structure. The protein undergoes conformational changes again oxidative stress. Depending on a redox-potential of the chloroplasts, the plant 2-Cys Prx forms super-molecular weight protein structures, which attach to the thylakoid membranes in a reversible manner.

Flat type catalytic combustible hydrogen sensors were fabricated using platinum micro-heaters and sensing material pastes. The platinum micro-heater was formed on an alumina substrate by sputtering method. The paste for the sensing materials was prepared using ${\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ 30 wt%, $SnO_2$ 35 wt%, and Pd/Pt 30 wt% and coated on the platinum micro-heater. The sensing performances were tested for the prepared sensors with different substrate sizes. The micro catalytic combustible hydrogen sensors showed quick response time, high reliability, and good selectivity against various gases(CO, $C_3H_8,\;CH_4$) at low operating temperature of $156^{\circ}\C$.

Many researches have been done to develop and improve the performance of personal (individual) dosimeter response to cover a wide of neutron energy range (from thermal to fast). Depending on the individual category of the dosimeter, the semiconductor sensor has been used to simplify and lightweight. In this plan, it's very important to have a fairly accurate counting of doses rate in different energies. With a general design and single-sensor simulations, all optimal thicknesses have been extracted. The performance of the simulation scheme has been compared with the commercial and laboratory samples in the world. Due to the deviation of all dosimeters with a flat energy response, in this paper, has been used an idea of one semi-conductor sensor to have the flat energy-response in the entire neutron energy range. Finally, by analyzing of the sensors data as arrays for the first time, we have reached a nearly flat and acceptable energy-response. Also a comparison has been made between Lucite-PMMA ($H_5C_5O_2$) and polyethylene-PE ($CH_2$) as a radiator and $B_4C$ has been studied as absorbent. Moreover, in this paper, the effect of gamma dose in the dosimeter has been investigated and shown around the standard has not been exceeded.
This paper describes the formation of porous 3C-SiC by anodization. 3C-SiC thin films were deposited on p-type Si(100) substrates by APCVD using HMDS(Hexamethyildisilane: $Si_2(CH_3)_6$). UV-LED(380 nm) was used as a light source. The surface morphology was observed by SEM and the pore size was increased with increase of current density. Pore diameter of 70 $\sim$ 90 nm was achieved at 7.1 mA/cm$^2$ current density and 90 sec anodization time. FT-IR was conducted for chemical bonding of thin film and porous 3C-SiC. The Si-H bonding was observed in porous 3C-SiC around wavenumber 2100 cm$^{-1}$. PL shows the band gap enegry of thin film(2.5 eV) and porous 3C-SiC(2.7 eV).

In this paper, the purpose is to develop imaging technique of synchrotron radiation using CMOS image sensor. The detector using hybrid method to be research in this lab was used, in order to increase image signal. We made experiments with 1B2 Whitebeam/microprobe beamline in PAL (Pohang Accelerator Laboratory). Phosphor materials such as ZnS:(Ag,Li), ZnS:(Cu,Al), $Y_2O_2S:Eu$ were produced by spin coating on glass. Synchrotron radiation images were acquired and evaluated from monochromatic light from monochromoator in PAL 1B2line. From obtained object and phantom, MTF was 0.15 in ZnS:(Ag,Li) phosphor, and 0.178 in ZnS:( Cu,Al) at 151p/mm. MTFs were unsystematic because thickness of phosphor and uniformity of surface were not optimized. It's expected to improve MTF and the qualify of images as uniformity's optimized.

Ultra-fine particles of $SnO_{2}$ was synthersized by the sol-gel powder processing using tin(II) chloride dihydrate$(SnCl_{2}{\cdot}2H_{2}O)$ and ethanol$(C_{2}H_{5}OH)$ as raw materials. Gel powders can be obtained by drying of sol at $120^{\circ}C$ after aging 72hrs and 168hrs. The amount of $SnO_{2}$ phase was increased with temperature because of the evaporation of volatile components, and the creation of $SnO_{2}$ phase was almost done by the heat treatment at $700^{\circ}C/30min$ The grain sizes after firing are about 20-30nm, and it showed the narrow distribution of grain size. The specimens to measure electrical properties were fabricated by the thick film screen printing technique on the alumina substrates. The conductance of $SnO_{2}$ was increased with temperature up to $380^{\circ}C$ by the typical conduction mechanism of semiconducting ceramics. There was a region of constant conductance between about $200^{\circ}C$ and $380^{\circ}C$ due to the increment of electron concentration with temperature and the annihilation of conduction carriers by the absorption and electron trapped-ionization of oxygen on the surface of $SnO_{2}$, It was finally showed the intrinsic behaviors above $450^{\circ}C$. The sensing properties of response time, recovery, and sensitivity of CO were improved with aging time.

LTCC (Low Temperature Cofired Ceramic) technology is one of technologies which can realize SIP (System-In-a-Package). In this paper realization of gas sensor using LTCC technology was described. In the conventional gas sensor structure, wire bonding method is generally used as an interconnection method whereas in the LTCC sensor structure, via was used for the interconnection. As sensing materials, $SnO_2$ was adopted. The effect of frit glass portion on the adhesion of the sensing material to the LTCC substrate and the electrical conductivity of the sensing material were analyzed. AgPd, PdO, Pt was added to the sensing material as an additive for improving the gas sensitivity and electrical conductivity and the effect of the amount of additives in the sensing material on the electrical conductivity was investigated. The effect of the amount of frit glass in the termination on the sensor performance, especially mechanical integrity, was considered and the crack initiation and propagation in the boundary between the sensing material and the termination was studied.

Piezoelectric or magnetostrictive materials, known as smart materials, have been researched widely for sensors or actuators in micro system technology. In our research, thick sol-gel lead zirconate titanate(Pb(Zr$\sub$1-x/Ti$\sub$x/)O$_3$) films were fabricated and their characteristics were investigated f3r angular rate sensor applications. The thickness of the PZT films is 1.5${\mu}$m, which is required by a vibration angular rate sensor for a good actuation and sensing. The remnant polarization of the PZT flms is 12.0 ${\mu}$C/$\textrm{cm}^2$. The electromechanical constants of PZT thin film showed the value of susceptance(B) of 4800${\mu}$ s at capacitance of 790pF. The PZT films were applied to the vibration angular rate sensor structure and the vibration of 1.78 ${\mu}$m in amplitude at the resonant frequency of 35.8㎑ was obtained by driving voltage of 5V$\sub$p-p/ of bulk piezoelectric materials with out of phase signal through voltage and inverting amplifier.
