The continuous casting is primarily a heat-extraction process in which the heat transfer at various cooling zones profoundly influences quality of products. So development of numerical model is necessarily needed for more specific and clear investigations upon heat transfer mechanism at mold and secondary cooling zones. In this study, heat transfer coefficients which shows the characteristic of heat transfer mechanism in mold are calculated for more exact analysis with temperatures measured in bloom mold using optimal algorithm, and finally the validity of cooling conditions at secondary cooling zone which is actually used at field for 30 Ton bloom type continuous casting of 0.187%C is investigated. From the results of solidification analysis, the characteristic of bloom mold shows good agreements with that of previously studies by other authors and optimized cooling conditions for 0.187%C are presented.
The purpose of this research is for the development of a new type forging equipment. H.C.G.(Hyundai Continuous Grain-Flow), by using two virtual build-up tools, rigid viscoplastic FEM and downsized plasticine experiment. This forging method consists of only vertical pressuree. Therefore, high quality crankshafts can be forged with this method as it can maintain a continuous grain flow. The factors considered in the development of equipment are die geometry for flawless deformed shape, die reaction forces, stress/strain distributions and continuous material flow. We carried out several numerical simulations and downsized plasticine experiments for the proper design of the forging equipment. The validity of those simulation results is confirmed by checking with the actual test results. Based on these simulation results, the proper design of the H.C.G. forging equipment is enabled.
The problems of the continuity of homomorphisms between Banach algebras have been studied widely for the last two decades to obtain various fruitful results, yet it is far from characterizing the calss of Banach algebras for which each homomorphism from a member of the class into a Banach algebra is conitnuous. For commutative Banach algebras A and B a simple proof shows that every homomorphism .theta. from A into B is continuous provided that B is semi-simple, however, with a non semi-simple Banach algebra B examples of discontinuous homomorphisms from C(K) into B have been constructed by Dales [6] and Esterle [7]. For non commutative Banach algebras the problems of automatic continuity of homomorphisms seem to be much more difficult. Many positive results and open questions related to this subject may be found in [1], [3], [5] and [8], in particular most recent development can be found in the Lecture Note which contains [1]. It is well-known that a$^{*}$-isomorphism from a $C^{*}$-algebra into another $C^{*}$-algebra is an isometry, and an isomorphism of a Banach algebra into a $C^{*}$-algebra with self-adjoint range is continuous. But a$^{*}$-isomorphism from a $C^{*}$-algebra into an involutive Banach algebra is norm increasing [9], and one can not expect each of such isomorphisms to be continuous. In this note we discuss an isomorphism from a commutative $C^{*}$-algebra into a commutative Banach algebra with dense range via separating space. It is shown that such an isomorphism .theta. : A.rarw.B is conitnuous and maps A onto B is B is semi-simple, discontinuous if B is not semi-simple.
This study is to investigate the effects of cold forming method with steel sheet of SCP3C to improve continuous productivity. Experiments were carried out in various working conditions, such as the number of stamping and the punch temperature. The effects of the punch temperature and the number of stamping on drawability of steel sheet of SCP3C as well as clearance and draw-in in tile number of stamping were examined and discussed. The cooled the punch and the die and the blankholder heated by stamping were achieved at continuous productivity and quality improvement. The optimum forming condition for drawing trunk floor panel of SCP3C is shown as the punch is cooled by coolant of $-5^{\circ}C$ and at the same time both the die and the blankholder are heated by stamping and frictional heat,
This study is object to process improvement of continuous casting mold. For process improvement of continuous casting mold using CAD, CAM software and CNC machining center. CAM software is purpose of G-code generation for CNC programming. Then CAM software and CNC machining center are connect to RS-232C cable.
By forming completions of families of noncommutative polynomials, we define a notion of noncommutative continuous function and locally bounded Borel function that give a noncommutative analogue of the functional calculus for elements of commutative $C^{*}$-algebras and von Neumann algebras. These notions give a precise meaning to $C^{*}$-algebras defined by generator and relations and we show how they relate to many parts of operator and operator algebra theory.
Continuous culture was carried out with a recombinant Escherichia coli W3110/pCR185, which encodes trp-operon enzymes when the temperature is shifted from $37^{circ}C\;t;42^{\circ}C$. Under derepressed condition of $42^{\circ}C$. plasmlid stability and gene expression were analysed as function of the dilution rate. The stability of plasmid increased with the dilution rate, but maximal levels of gene expression (tryptophan concentration) and plasmid DNA content were obtained at the lowest dilution rate, $0.075\;hr^{-1}$. The plasmid instability, observed at low dilution rates, could be explained by the unbalanced biosynthetic state of the recombinant cell harboring a high copy number of plasmid.
We investigate the continuity of (${\alpha},{\beta}$)-derivations on B(X) or $C^*$-algebras. We give some sufficient conditions on which (${\alpha},{\beta}$)-derivations on B(X) are continuous and show that each (${\alpha},{\beta}$)-derivation from a unital $C^*$-algebra into its a Banach module is continuous when and ${\alpha}$${\beta}$ are continuous at zero. As an application, we also study the ultraweak continuity of (${\alpha},{\beta}$)-derivations on von Neumann algebras.
Photoxynthetic properties of polyvinylalcohol (PVA)-immobilized chloroplast especially regarded to stability of photosynthetic electron transport and the fluorescence induction pattern were studied. When isolated spinach chloroplasts were immobilized with PVA, it showed good preservation of photosynthetic electron transport activity, especially PS II activity, during storage at -15$^{\circ}C$, 4$^{\circ}C$ and 2$0^{\circ}C$. And immobilized chloroplasts revealed similar thermostability of whole chain electron transport to free chloroplsts. And the absorption peak of red band of chloroplasts showed the blue-shift of 2-4 nm after immobilization. Fv/Fm ratio of chlorophyll fluorescence slightly decreased after immobilization. White light pulse after continuous light do not induced the additional fluorescence rise. This means chlorophyll fluorescence at room temperature reached to Fmax under continuous light in the immobilized chloroplasts. It seems that PVA may be a good candidate for immobilization matrix for the preservation of photosynthetic function of thylakoids and for the continuous use of chloroplast membranes of higher plants for solar energy storage and conversion.
Continuous time system deadbeat controller(CdbC) has been studied mainly since 1992 especially by Japan researchers. They suggested delay elements. These elements stem from the finite Laplace Transform which is the starting point in deadbeat control system design in continuous time system. Every transfer function is established by these elements. From some conditions such as internal model stability and peasibility of a CdbC controller. unknown polynomials or coefficients can be calculated. In this paper, optimal pole placement of the closed loop system is suggested. From this. a CdbC controller with lower order can be obtained which attains the same level of weighted sensitivity function's H$_{\infty}$ norm used as a measure of the robustness property as existing CdbCs.
