근.현대 한국 여성 복식에 나타난 여성 성역할 변화 연구 (A Study on the Gender Role Changes of Korean Women Reflected on Women's Costume Design during 20th Century)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the gender role changes of Korean women reflected on their costumes during 20th century. To analyze the diachronic gender role changes, social environments(education, job, economy, family systems, mass-media) of 20 th century were inquired by 10 years and comparatively analyzed with 680 images of representative costumes each periods. The results are as followed. 1) $1900s{\sim}1910s$: The most representative women's gender role was a wise mother and good wife. Therefore the adopted western costume, a symbol of civilization, were represented women as a passive and sexual object of man. 2) $1920s{\sim}1930s$: 'Shin Yeosung(Modern Girl)' was the representative gender role of that time. They were the symbol of enlightenment and new education. Their costumes influenced to the changes of traditional Hanbok in functional side. 3) $1940s{\sim}1950s$: In World War II. a strong and stubborn women were wanted to support their family. They threw feminity and changed their costumes into an active and functional 'Mombbe'. 4) $1960s{\sim}1970s$: Women asserted Gender equality and resisted the traditional women's gender role. Mini Skirts and Unisex costumes were symbolic costumes reflecting the changes. 5) 1980s: The self confidence of women's gender role affected the androgynous look and body-conscious look in modern fashion. 6) $1990s{\sim}2000s$: Now, the dichotomy of gender role is not no longer effective way to understand the social changes and fashion trend rather than personal characteristics and lifestyle trends.

  • This study understands rockers of today and supplies basic data of design and manufacture studying pattern change of rockers arisen in West, there is the purpose. Also, this study is investigated by dividing theoretical background of rockers, 7 kinds of American traditional rockers and European rockers from 18th century to opening part of 20th century and contemporary rockers since 20th century. The theoretical background and the style of 2 rockers (Windsor rocker, Boston rocker) were investigated to study the stylistic changes of rockers. Originally a rocker was invented by a European farmer around 1700. It developed to a household which equip practicality and comfortablness in the United States than Europe. Early rockers in a primal form appeared in the 1740s in the United States. American early rockers connected skate to established chair bridge. Rockers are deep connection with family's emotion. Rockers can provide playing functions for children and medically treating functions for adults. Windsor Rockers developed by attaching skate is mammy bench and according to shape of back form bow or hoop-back rocker, birdcage rocker, comb-back rocker. Windsor Rockers formed peculiar American tradition of craftsman furniture through structure that have a unique back of a chair and round seat. Boston Rockers were the first chairs made by mass production method. They show a particular shape with S-curve style seat and rectangular crest at the upper part of the back. Often Crests were decorated by stenciled pattern with curled leaves such as rosettes and scrolled designs.

20세기 패션 디자인의 조형성 표현방법 연구 -오브제 사용기법을 중심으로- (A Study on the Method of Expressing Plasticity in the 20th Century Fashion Design - Focused on the Using Techniques of Object-)

  • Objet, which showed up with the art of 20C, is now an important element giving a creative idea to fashion designers in modern times. The purpose of the study is to review how the objet technique was paid attention and recreated in the fashion, through the analysis of works, and the formative features of each technique for fashion, in order to identify the connection of arts and fashion, and the position of fashion as art. The techniques using object appeared in the 20th century fashion are as follows: First, papier-colle, which is adding printed materials onto the surface, is such a technique that adds cut-feeling materials to impose a new texture, or arrange again the cloth-cuts to create a different clothing from the existing one, which went to the extension of materials in the fashion. Second, collage of daily materials expresses directly and emotionally through direct presentation of the objets. Especially, collage of patch-work is reproduced into a new fabric depending on the objet used, giving a standing over the form. Third, ready-made which presents the material meaning only of the objet expands the range of objets which could be used in the fashion by introducing the daily materials having a meaning itself as a fashion. Forth, an attempt to approach to the objets of popular image by designed techniques come out in modern fashion as a graffiti look or a typography look, making the clothing itself an objet to transmit a message directly to the masses. Introduction of various objets and development of expression technique brought out the diversification of materials, and enrichment and extension of expression sphere, which resultingly spreaded the freedom of expression and progressed into the art sphere, making a direct motif to solidify its standing as a formative art.

20 세기 주거건축사에 나타난 이동식 주거개념의 발전과정에 관한 연구 (The Development of the Movable-housing Planning Concept in Housing-architectural history of 20th Century)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the development and characteristics of movable-housing planning concept. A document research method was used to analyze and classified the development of the movable-housing concept of 20th century. Through this study, the following conclusions have been reached; First, the origin of the movable-housing is from the prehistoric and traditional portable buildings, also due to the emergence of nomadic lifestyle using car traveling and mobile home in the 1920's. Second, the development of the movable-housing in 20th century was classified as follows; (1) In order to obtain the productivity and efficiency drawing from the industrialized-housing in the early of 1900s, movable furniture and flexibility was proposed. (2) American mobile home in 1920's, influenced by the development of car industry, was the most successful example of a factory-built building to be found in the world. (3) Dymaxion house and dome by R.B.Fuller, an aggregation of high-tech mechanical equipment, had a great impact on the development the concept of 'mobility' and influenced Archigram & Metabolist's movable capsule ideas in 1960's. (4) The lightweight materials such as plastic, duralumin and pneumatic structure were adopted for movable-housing in 1960's. Through this research, It is discovered that the stage of social development has close links with the developing aspects of movable-housing concepts. This study shows that the combination of three planning concepts such as flexible housing, mobile-housing and capsule will be more ideal in movable-housing planning rather than relying on just one type.

학봉종택 가도(家圖)의 분석을 통한 18세기 종택의 이건계획 및 건축적 특성 (A Study on The relocation plan and architectural characteristics of 18th century's Jongtaek based on the analysis of Hakbong Gado)

  • Hakbongjongtaek(The head house of Uisong Kim family, 鶴峯宗宅), firstly built in the early 17th century, was moved to its neighboring place in the late 18th century. The man who led the relocation(移建) of the house was the eldest grandson of the family, Jong-soo, Kim. He made and overall plan and also participated in building the house. There remain four Gados(family paintings, 가도(家圖)) related to the relocation plan. This paper aims to make an analysis of these Gados, and through analysis, to find what was the essential poing of the relocation plan and how the point was represented in the paintings. The result of analysis is as follows: 1. The main focus of relocation plan was the form of Anchae(the inner house). Anchae was designed as asymmetrical form, and restricted to four kan. Only Andaechung needed to be 6 kan size for religious ceremonies. 2. For the design of Sarangchae, the displacement of large Sarangbang and small Sarangbang was an important issue. There were two ways of layout: parallel type and facing type. The latter was chosen. 3. The representation and techniques of Gado is quite concrete, in spite of differences among them. The expression of doors, windows, attic and kitchen was based on the understanding of space. Also the spatial division, which was expressed line on the grid, was based on the scaled ruler. As we've seen before, painting the relocation plan was a kind of endeavors to make the housing type as a realization of Garye. Also, we can find out that role of the eldest grandson of the family was quite important to carry out the plan. As well as, it was meaningful to examine Sadaebu (the aristocrat of Chosun)'s perception of housing.

20세기초 4칸${\times}$4칸 교회의 평면구성 및 구조형식에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Plan and Structural System of 4 kan(間) by 4 kan(間) Church in the Early 20th Century)

  • This study aims to investigate and analyze the plan and structural system of 4 kan(間) by 4 kan(間) square church built in early 20th century. At that time, three kinds of traditional wooden structure church had been built under the circumstances of transitional era : Basilica style such as Ganghwa Anglican Church, 'ㄱ' shaped style such as Keumsan Church and $4{\times}4$ Square style such as Bukok Church and Jacheon Church that are concerned in this study. Traditional plans and structural system were mixed with new religious function and transformed into korean peculiar style. $4{\times}4$ Square style is a residual product in that process. Despite of it, little concerns on it till now. The results of this study are described as follows. 1. The plan of these $4{\times}4$ square churches is divided into three areas : cathedra($1{\times}1$), attendance($4{\times}2$), and intermediation($4{\times}2$). The location of cathedra is commonly the opposition part of main gate and projected out of the building. Attendance area was also divided into two, man and woman, because of keeping a distance with each other. 2. The structural system of these $4{\times}4$ square churches are somewhat different because of their size and roof style. In the case of Bukok church, $4{\times}4$ square fall off $3{\times}3$ and $2{\times}2$ gradually and turn into paljak(八作) roof, which enable us to get in traditional entering methods. On the contrary, Jacheon church use hipped roof but almost alike pyramidal roof, which could make us not to recognize entering in the aspect of gable part.

강원도 양양군 쌍호, 가평리습지, 궁개호, 염개호의 20세기 경관 변화 (Landscape Changes during the 20th Century of Ssangho, Gapyeongri wetland, Gunggaeho and Yeomgaeho, Yangyang-gun, Gangwon Province)

  • 양양군 오산리 일대에는 쌍호, 가평리습지, 궁개호와 염개호 등 4개의 석호가 높은 밀도로 나타난다. 쌍호는 동해안의 대표 석호군과 함께 해진극상기에 하구부가 익곡되어 현재까지 호수를 유지하고 있으나, 가평리습지와 궁개호, 염개호는 사빈의 제간습지에 형성되었다. 20세기동안 4개 석호는 대체로 축소 및 위치변화 정도가 심한데, 그 원인을 자연적인 요인과 인간의 영향, 그리고 기타 요인으로 구분하여 검토하였다. 지형발달에 따른 매적단계와 함께 20세기동안 급속하게 진행된 산업화와 개발에 따른 매립, 소규모 석호의 존재가치에 대한 인식 부족이나 지도 작성시 오류, 그리고 측량기술의 낙후성에 기인한다. 따라서 경관 복원 계획은 석호의 성격에 따라 다르게 진행되어야 하며, 쌍호를 우선적으로 복원하는 것이 권장되며, 인간의 영향이 최소한 미쳤던 1920년대의 지형으로 되돌리는 것이 바람직하다.

A Synchronic Note on Early American English

  • The purpose of this paper was to take an in-depth look at early American English around the $17^{th}$ and $18^{th}$ century when immigrants from different European countries started to move into the New World. The paper attempted to describe early American English in relation to the process of immigration and settlement from a historical perspective. With a focus on major features of early American English such as uniformity, archaism and richness of lexicon, the paper tried to answer the questions such as how settlement influenced the formation and distribution of regional dialects across the continent, why immigrants tended to show a preference for a uniform way of speaking rather than choosing a variety of regional dialects for communication, and what role foreign languages played in the development of early American English. The overall findings based on the answers to these questions showed how American English went through a variety of processes and changes at the early stages of its development to become a national language later. The paper concluded with some remarks about the implications of the findings for EFL learning and the direction of future research on early American English.

독서에 관한 명언의 연구 (A Study of Wise Sayings Related to Reading)

  • 독서의 중요성을 인식하게 하고 올바른 독서문화를 형성시키는데 하나의 동기를 부여하기 위하여 서양 선각자들이 말한 독서에 관한 명언 138개를 문헌 조사하여 국가별로 나누어 내용과 말한 사람의 국적 및 직종, 업적 및 활동, 활동한 시기를 분석하였다. 조사된 독서 명언 속에는 독서의 의의$(30\%)$, 방법$(44\%)$, 효용$(13\%)$, 가치$(12\%)$, 즐거움$(1\%)$ 등이 내포되어 있으며 직종에 따라 다양하게 표현하고 있다. 독서의 명언을 말한 사람(83명)의 국적은 국력이 강하고 문화가 발달한 선진국인 영국(36명), 프랑스(17명), 미국(15명)이 많고 직종은 168개 분야 중에서 문학(97), 철학(20), 정치(13)분야 사람이 많다. 특히 문학분야 중에는 시인(25명)과 작가(24명), 소설가(18명)가 $70\%$ 정도를 차지하고 있다. 활동했던 시기별로는 19-20세기 $34\%$, 19세기 $25\%$로 양 기간이 약 $60\%$이다.

화엄사 목조비로자나삼신불좌상의 조성기 「시주질(施主秩)」 분석 (Analysis of the Shijujils(施主秩), the records on the creation of Buddha statues, of wooden seated Vairocana Buddha Triad of Hwaeomsa Temple)

  • 본 논문은 화엄사 목조비로자나삼신불좌상 가운데 좌존(左尊) 노사나불상과 우존(右尊) 석가불상의 복장에서 수습한 2점의 불상 조성기인 「시주질(施主秩)」을 분석한 것으로, 두 자료는 2015년 9월과 2020년 7월의 복장조사를 통해 나온 것이다. 2015년 9월에 수습한 석가불상의 「시주질(施主秩)」은 한동안 미공개로 화엄사 성보박물관에 소장되다가 2020년 7월 노사나불상의 「시주질(施主秩)」이 발견되면서, 2021년 9월 '지리산 대화엄사' 특별전을 통해 함께 처음으로 공개되었다. 화엄사 두 불상의 「시주질(施主秩)」은 17세기에 조성된 불상에 관한 기존 조성기의 일반적인 낱장 또는 두루마리 형식과 다르게, 선장(線裝) 방식으로 가철(假綴)된 책자 형식으로 되어 있다. 노사나불상의 「시주질(施主秩)」은 1책 19장 38면으로, 석가불상의 「시주질(施主秩)」은 1책 11장 22면으로 구성되어 있다. 「시주질(施主秩)」의 내용은 불상 조성의 목적, 제작 시기, 봉안(奉安) 연도 및 봉안처(奉安處), 존명(尊名), 소임자(所任者), 조각승(彫刻僧), 시주(施主) 물목(物目), 시주자(施主者) 등을 담고 있다. 이밖에도 당시 화엄사에 주석하고 있던 승려들까지 수록하고 있는 점에서 「시주질(施主秩)」은 약 400여 년 전 화엄사의 중창 불사 당시의 상황을 오늘날에 소상하게 알려주는 타임캡슐(time capsule) 같은 것이다. 노사나불상과 석가불상의 「시주질(施主秩)」 및 노사나불상의 대좌 기록에 의하면, 1634년(인조 12) 3월에 화엄사 비로자나삼신불상을 조성하기 시작해 8월에 완성한 후, 1635년(인조 13) 가을에 대웅전에 봉안한 사실을 확인할 수 있다. 화엄사 비로자나삼신불상의 제작 시기를 1634년으로 특정할 수 있게된 점은 매우 중요한 의미를 갖는다. 그동안은 중관(中觀) 해안(海眼)이 1636년(인조 14)에 저술한 『호남도구례현지리산대화엄사사적(湖南道求禮縣智異山大華嚴寺事蹟)』에 의존해 비로자나삼신불상의 조성 시기를 1636년으로 추정해 왔는데, 이제는 화엄사 비로자나삼신불상의 제작 시기를 1634년으로 특정할 수 있게 되었기 때문이다. 화엄사 노사나불상과 석가불상의 「시주질(施主秩)」은 벽암(碧巖) 각성(覺性)의 역할을 잘 알 수 있는 자료이기도 하다. 벽암 각성은 1630년에 화엄사 동오층석탑을 중수할 때는 '대공덕주(大功德主)'였고, 1634년 삼신불상을 조성할 때도 '판거사(辦擧事)' 또는 '대공덕주(大功德主)'였으며, 1653년 영산회 괘불탱을 조성할 때 역시 주도적인 역할을 맡는 등 17세기 화엄사 중창 불사에 가장 중추적인 역할을 한 인물이다. 화엄사 노사나불상과 석가불상의 「시주질(施主秩)」은 벽암 각성과 왕실과의 관계를 밝힐 수 있는 자료라는 점에서도 매우 중요하다. 노사나불상과 석가불상의 「시주질(施主秩)」은 불상의 조성과 관련하여 왕실 인물인 선조의 아들 의창군(義昌君) 이광(李珖)과 사위 신익성(申翊聖), 인조의 아들 소현세자(昭顯世子) 등이 구체적으로 기록된 최초의 자료이기 때문이다. 화엄사 노사나불상과 석가불상의 「시주질(施主秩)」은 비로자나삼신불상의 조성 연도, 벽암 각성과 왕실의 관계 및 벽암 각성의 역할 등, 17세기 비로자나삼신불상의 조성에 관한 구체적 정보를 담고 있어 미술사뿐만 아니라 향후 화엄사의 역사 연구에도 중요한 자료적 가치가 있다.
