A Preliminary Study for the Development of test tool for discourse comprehension of the elderly

노인 담화이해력 검사 도구 개발을 위한 예비 연구

Abstract

As a preliminary study for the development of the 'Elderly Discourse Comprehension Test Tool', this study aims to verify the content validity of the subtest items that comprise the test tool. For this purpose, 48 items were developed as subtests at three levels (word, sentence, and discourse) based on the literature and existing assessment tools. The initially developed test items were presented to eight speech-language pathologists with a first-level speech therapist license and more than 10 years of treatment experience, and they were asked to answer on a 5-point Likert scale, and the Content Validity Index (CVI) was calculated based on the scores. Based on the results, 37 items with a CVI greater than .75 at the sentence and discourse level were selected, except for a few items at the word and sentence level, where the CVI was below the cutoff of .75. In conclusion, the subtest items of this instrument were found to have adequate content validity as a test instrument for assessing discourse comprehension in the elderly.

본 연구는 '노인 담화이해력 검사 도구' 개발을 위한 예비 연구로서 검사 도구를 구성하는 하위 검사 문항의 내용타당도를 검증하고자 하는 연구이다. 이를 위하여, 선행 연구와 기존의 관련 평가 도구를 바탕으로 세 수준(단어, 문장, 담화) 48문항을 하위 검사 문항으로 개발하였다. 1차로 개발된 검사 문항은 1급 언어치료사 자격증 소지자이면서 10년 이상의 치료 경력이 있는 언어재활사 8명에게 제시하고 리커트 5점 척도로 답하도록 하였고, 점수에 근거한 내용타당도 지수(Content Validity Index, CVI)를 산출하였다. 결과에 따라 내용타당도(CVI)가 절단점인 .75 미만인 단어 및 문장 수준의 몇몇 문항을 제외하고 문장 및 담화수준에서 내용타당도(CVI)가 .75를 초과하는 문항 37문항이 채택되었다. 결론적으로, 본 평가도구의 하위 검사 문항은 노인의 담화이해력을 평가하기 위한 검사도구로 적절한 내용타당도를 지니고 있음이 증명되었다.
