The Effects of Early Childhood Teachers' Content Knowledge in Music Education, Attitude on Music Education, and Teaching Efficacy in Music Education on Their Practice in Teaching Music

유아교사의 음악교수내용지식과 음악교육태도 및 음악교수효능감이 음악교육실제에 미치는 영향

Abstract

The purposes of the study were to examine the relationships between early childhood teachers' content knowledge on music education, attitude on music education, teaching efficacy in music, and practice in music education, and to verify the effects of early childhood teachers' content knowledge in music education, attitude on music education, and teaching efficacy in music on their practice in music education. The subjects were 360 early childhood teachers working at kindergartens and childcare centers in Seoul and Incheon metropolitan areas. The major variables were measured using questionnaires, and the collected data was analyzed utilizing SPSS 27.0. We used Pearson's correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis for the research questions along with the descriptive statistical analysis and calculating Cronbach's alpha coefficients. As the findings, early childhood teachers' content knowledge in music education, attitude on music education, teaching efficacy in music, practice in music education were statistically significantly positively correlated. In addition, early childhood teachers' content knowledge in music education, attitude on music education, and teaching efficacy in music were found to have statistically significantly positive effects on their practice in music education.

본 연구의 연구목적은 유아교사의 음악교수내용지식, 음악교육태도, 음악교수효능감, 음악교육실제 간 관계를 알아보고, 유아교사의 음악교수내용지식과 음악교육태도 및 음악교수효능감이 음악교육실제에 미치는 영향을 검증하는 것이다. 연구대상은 수도권의 유치원과 어린이집에 재직하는 유아교사 360명이다. 주요 변인은 설문지를 통해 측정되었으며, 연구문제 검증을 위해 SPSS 27.0 통계 프로그램을 통해 기술통계분석과 Pearson의 상관관계분석 및 다중회귀분석을 실시했다. 연구결과를 제시하면 첫째, 유아교사의 음악교수내용지식 수준이 높고 음악교육태도가 긍정적이며 음악교수효능감이 높을수록 음악교육실제 수준이 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 유아교사의 음악교수내용지식과 음악교육태도 및 음악교수효능감 수준이 음악교육실제를 예측하는 변인으로 밝혀졌다. 특히 음악교육실제에 미치는 영향력에 있어서, 음악교수내용지식의 영향력이 가장 컸으며, 이어서 음악교수효능감, 음악교육태도의 순으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 연구결과는 유아교육현장에서 실행되는 유아음악교육실제의 수준을 높이기 위해 유아교사의 음악교수내용 지식과 음악교육태도 및 음악교수효능감을 높일 수 있는 연수프로그램 개발 및 지원이 필요함을 시사한다.
