Abstract
This paper is to investigate the effect of emulsified waste cooking oil on the engineering properties and autogenous shrinkage reduction of the high strength concrete with W/B of 20% incorporating 20% of fly ash and 10% of silica fume. Four different types of shrinkage reducing type agents were applied including existing shrinkage reducing agent(SR), waste cooking oil(WCO), emulsified waste cooking oil with 2000 rpm(EWCO-2R) and emulsified waste cooking oil with 4000 rpm(EWCO-4R). According to results, an use of WCO resulted in a decrease of slump flow remarkably. Meanwhile, emulsifying WCO makes it possible to reduce the slump flow reduction. Emulsifying also brings favorable effect on strength development of the concrete. For the effect of emulsifying on autogenous shrinkage, it is found that EWCO has desirable shrinkage reduction effect than WCO and existing SR.
