스컬용융법에 의해 성장시킨 Co와 Pr이 첨가된 이트리아안정화큐빅지르코니아(YSZ) 단결정의 연구 (Investigation of Co- and Pr-doped yttria-stabilized cubic zirconia (YSZ) single crystal grown by skull melting method)

  • Co(0.7 wt%)와 Pr(2.0, 3.5 및 5.0 wt%)이 첨가된 큐빅지르코니아($ZrO_2:Y_2O_3=50:50wt%$) 단결정을 스컬용융법으로 성장 후 $N_2$ 분위기에서 $1150^{\circ}C$로 5시간 동안 열처리 하였다. 갈색의 단결정들은 각각 어두운 갈녹색, 녹청색 또는 밝은 녹색으로 변화되었다. 열처리 전 후의 YSZ 단결정들을 직경 7.5, 두께 3 mm의 웨이퍼로 연마 하여 UV-VIS 분광광도계 및 XRD(X-ray diffraction)로 광학적 또는 구조적 특성 분석을 행하였다. $Co^{2+}$(약 589 nm: ${\Gamma}_8[^4A_2(^4F)]{\rightarrow}{\Gamma}_8+{\Gamma}_7[^4T_1(^4F)]$, 약 610 nm: ${\Gamma}_8[^4A_2(^4F)]{\rightarrow}{\Gamma}_8[^4T_1(^4F)]$, 약 661 nm: ${\Gamma}_8[^4A_2(^4F)]{\rightarrow}{\Gamma}_6[^4T_1(^4F)]$$Pr^{3+}$(약 450 nm: ${^3}H{_4}-{^3}P{_2}$, 약 473 nm: ${^3}H{_4}{\rightarrow}{^3}P{_1}$, 약 484 nm: ${^3}H{_4}{\rightarrow}{^3}P{_0}$)에 의한 흡수, 이온화에너지 및 격자상수 변화를 확인하였다.

  • Yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ) buffer layers were deposited by a metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) technique using single liquid source for the application of YBa$_2$Cu$_3$$O_{7-x}$ (YBCO) coated conductor. Y:Zr mole ratio was 0.2:0.8, and tetrahydrofuran (THF) was used as a solvent. The (100) single crystal MgO substrate was used for searching deposition condition. Bi-axially oriented CeO$_2$ and NiO films were fabricated on {100}〈001〉 Ni substrate by the same method and used as templates. At a constant working pressure of 10 Torr, the deposition temperatures (660~80$0^{\circ}C$) and oxygen flow rates (100~500 sccm) were changed to find the optimum deposition condition. The best (100) oriented YSZ film on MgO was obtained at 74$0^{\circ}C$ and $O_2$ flow rate of 300 sccm. For YSZ buffer layer with this deposition condition on CeO$_2$/Ni template, full width half maximum (FWHM) values of the in-plane and out-of-plane alignments were 10.6$^{\circ}$ and 9.8$^{\circ}$, respectively. The SEM image of YSZ film on CeO$_2$/Ni showed surface morphologies without microcrack.k.

50μm급 이트리아 안정화 지르코니아 비드의 미세구조 및 마모 조건에 따른 마모율 분석 (Analysis of Attrition Rate of 50μm Size Y2O3 Stabilized Zirconia Beads with Different Microstructure and Test Conditions)

  • This study analyzes the mechanical properties, including the attrition rate, of $50{\mu}m$ size yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) beads with different microstructures and high-energy milling conditions. The yttria distribution in the grain and grain-boundary of the fully sintered beads relates closely to Vickers hardness and the attrition rate of the YSZ beads. Grain size, fractured surfaces, and yttrium distribution are analyzed by electronic microscopes. For standardization and a reliable comparison of the attrition rate of zirconia beads with different conditions, Zr content in milled ceramic powder is analyzed and calculated by X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometer(XRF) instead of directly measuring the weight change of milled YSZ beads. The beads with small grain sizes sintered at lower temperature exhibit a higher Vickers hardness and lower attrition rate. The attrition rate of $50{\mu}m$ YSZ beads is measured and compared with the various materials properties of ceramic powders used for high-energy milling. The attrition rate of beads appears to be closely related to the Vickers hardness of ceramic materials used for milling, and demonstrates more than a 10 times higher attrition rate with Alumina(Hv ~1650) powder than $BaTiO_3$ powder (Hv ~315).

  • Zirconia ($ZrO_2$) is a crystalline dioxide of zirconium. Dental zirconia blocks for CAD/CAM are usually fabricated with powders of tetragonal zirconia polycrystals (TZP) stabilized with 3mol% yttria. Because of its mechanical properties similar to those of metals and color similar to tooth, it is evaluated to attain the two purposes at a time, strength and aesthetic in prosthetic dentistry. The ability of transformation of Y-TZP from tetragonal to monoclinic helps to prevent crack propagation and contributes the increase of strength and fracture toughness. Two different types of blocks, soft and hard, are used to prepare the zirconia frameworks. The fuzzy-sintered block is difficult in machining, so pre-sintered soft 3Y-TZP block is usually used to mill by computer aided machining.

  • 수산화아피타이트와 이트리아 부분 안정화된 지르코니아의 바를 달리하는 3층 구조를 가즌ㄴ 생체 재료용 경사기능재료(FGMs)를 spark plasma sintering(SPS)과 hot pressing(HP) 장비로 제조하였다. HAp 원료에 대한 전처리를 실시할 경우 HAp의 소결성이 개선되었다. 전처리하여 얻은 FGM 복합체의 최고밀도는 전처리하지 않은 FGM 보다 낮은 온도에서 얻을 수 있었다. SPS로 FGM 소결체를 제조할 경우 10 MPa의 가압조건에서 8분 동안 소결 할 경우, $1200^{\circ}C$의 온도에서도 HAp의 TCP로의 분해 반응은 일어나지 않았으나. 이 온도에서 FGm의 지르코니아는 정방정에서 압방정으로와 상변화가 일어났다. 지르코니아 첨가에 따라. 즉 지르코니아의 응력 유기 상전이에 의해, HAp-ZrO$_2$ FGm 소결체의 기계적 물성이 증진된 것으로 예산된다. 치밀하고 고강도의 FGM을 제조하는 방법으로서 SPS가 HP공정에 비해 우수한 것으로 나타났다.

  • A study on induction plasma deposition with ceramic materials, yttria-stabilized-zirconia ZrO$_2$-Y$_2$O$_3$ (m.p 264O $^{\circ}C$), was conducted with a view developing a new method for nuclear fuel fabrication Before making dense pellets more than 96%TD., the spraying condition was optimized through the process parameters, such as chamber pressure, plasma plate power powder spraying distance, sheath gas composition, probe position, particle size and powders different morphology. The results with a 5mm thick deposit on rectangular planar graphite substrates showed a 97.11% theoretical density when the sheath gas flow rate was Ar/H$_2$120/20 l/min, probe position 8cm, particle size -75 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and spraying distance 22cm by AMDRY146 powder. The degree of influence of the main effects on density were powder morphology. particle size, sheath gas composition, plate power and spraying distance, in that order. Among the two parameter interactions, the sheath gas composition and chamber pressure affects density greatly. By using the multi-pellets mold wheel type, the pellet density did not exceed 94%T.D., owing to the spraying angle.

  • 스컬용융법으로 큐빅지르코니아(YSZ) 단결정들($ZrO_2$: $Y_2O_3$= 80 : 20, 70 : 30, 60 : 40, 50 : 50 wt%, $Co_3O_4$: 0.8wt%, $CeO_2$: 0.4wt%)을 성장시켜 $N_2$ 분위기 $1000^{\circ}C$에서 5시간 동안 열처리 하였다. 오랜지색, 황갈색 또는 갈색의 단결정들은 각각 갈적색, 황색 또는 녹색으로 변화되었다. 열처리 전 후의 YSZ 단결정들은 직경 6.5, 두께 2 mm의 웨이퍼로 연마 하였다. 각 시편의 광학적 또는 구조적 특성은 UV-VIS 분광광도계와 XRD(X-ray diffraction)로 분석하였으며, $Ce^{3+}(^2F_{5/2,7/2}(4f){\rightarrow}^2T_g(5d^1))$, $Co^{2+}(^4A_2(^4F){\rightarrow}^4T_1(^4F)$ 또는 $^4T_1(^4P))$$Co^{3+}$에 의한 흡수, 이온화에너지 및 격자상수 변화를 확인하였다.

Effect of Substrate Rotation on the Phase Evolution and Microstructure of 8YSZ Coatings Fabricated by EB-PVD

  • The effect of substrate rotation speed on the phase forming behavior and microstructural variation of 8 wt% yttria ($Y_2O_3$) stabilized $ZrO_2$ (8YSZ) coatings as a thermal barrier coating has been investigated. 8YSZ coatings with $100{\sim}200{\mu}m$ thickness were deposited by electron beam-physical vapor deposition onto a super alloy (Ni-Cr-Co-Al) substrate with a bond coating (NiCo-CrAlY). The width of the columnar grains of the 8YSZ coatings increased with increasing substrate rotation speed from 1 to 30 rpm at a substrate temperature range of $900{\sim}950^{\circ}C$. In spite of the different growth behaviors of coatings with different substrate rotation speeds, the phases of each coating were not changed remarkably. Even after post heat treatments with various conditions of the coated specimens fabricated at 20 rpm, only a change of color was noticeable, without any remarkable change in the phase or microstructure.

CO2 메탄화 반응을 위한 Ni 기반 Disk Type 촉매의 제조 최적화에 관한 연구 (Manufacturing Optimization of Ni Based Disk Type Catalyst for CO2 Methanation)

  • The catalytic activity of Ni-0.2%YSZ (Yttria-Stabilized Zirconia) with different promoters was evaluated for $CO_2$ methanation. The catalysts were weighed for mixing and they were dried at $110^{\circ}C$ for molding into disks. The concentration of $CO_2$ and $CH_4$ for conducting of $CO_2$ methanation were analyzed by gas chromatography and the physical characteristics of the disk-type catalyst formed were analyzed by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope and energy dispersive x-ray spectrometer. The addition of $CeO_2$ as a promoter for Ni-0.2%YSZ (denoted as Ni-5%Ce-0.2%YSZ) resulted in the highest $CO_2$ methanation. It also showed catalytic activity at a low temperature($200^{\circ}C$). Following this, $ZrO_2$, $SiO_2$, $Al_2O_3$ and $TiO_2$ were added to Ni-5%Ce-0.2%YSZ to compare the $CO_2$ methanation, and the highest efficiency was found for. Ni-1%Ti-5%Ce-0.2%YSZ Then, the concentration of Ti was increased to 10% and the catalytic activity was estimated using seven different types of commercial $TiO_2$. In conclusion, ST-01 $TiO_2$ showed the highest efficiency for $CO_2$ methanation.

  • 산소이온 펌핑효과를 나타내는 8% 이트리아가 함유된 ZrO\sub 2\ 이온 전도체를 기판으로 하여 그 위에 NO\sub x\가스에 대해 감지효과를 갖고 있는 것으로 알려져 있는 WO\sub 3\산화물 반도체를 사용하여 박막시편을 제작하였다. 각 소자의 NO\sub x\ 가스에 대한 전기적 특성과 열처리 온도에 따른 미세구조의 변화를 조사하였고, 특히 8YSZ 기판에 가해준 전압에 의한 NO\sub x\ 가스 감지의 증대효과를 조사하였다. 열처리 온도에 따른 WO\sub 3\ 박막표면의 SEM사진의 분석에서 열처리하지 않은 WO\sub 3\ 박막은 비결정질 상태이지만 600℃이상의 열처리 온도에서 결정화가 이루어졌고 사방경계상의 WO\sub 3\ 피크가 나타났으며 온도가 증가함에 따라 (111)면과 (001)면이 특히 많이 성장하였다. 측정온도 400℃에서 8YSZ 기판에 전압을 가하지 않았을 때보다 전압을 가하였을 경우가 더 안정되고 더 큰 응답을 보였으며, 특히 2V 일 때가 가장 높은 감도를 나타내었다. 그리고 NO\sub 2\ 가스보다 NO 가스에 대한 회복특성이 훨씬 우수했다.
