  • Currently, the design methods for coping of concrete piers predict over-reinforcements. In this study comparison and analysis of internal and external design codes is performed. Non-linear analysis using FEA and strut-tie model was done to reduce reinforcements embedded in coping of concrete piers.

  • Recently, the floor thickness in residence may not be satisfied with the floor vibration criteria although the thickness is evaluated by the serviceability requirements in current design provisions. Thus it is necessary to develop the procedure to determine slab thickness satisfied with the floor vibration criteria. In this study, We proposed the methods to determine the slab thickness satisfied with the vertical floor vibration criteria for several concrete compressive strength of flat plate floor systems. For this purpose Monte Carlo simulation procedure was adopted and both randomness inherent in young modulus of concrete and heel drop intensity were accounted.

  • The notion of weak filters in WFI-algebras is introduced. Relations between weak filters and concrete filters are established. A condition for a filter to be closed is given. Also, a condition for a filter to be a weak filter is provided. Characterizations of weak and concrete filters are discussed. A condition for a subalgebra to be a concrete filter is given.

  • The waste basalt might be recycled in concrete, resulting in energy saving and environmental protection. An half Factorial Experiments were performed with the variables of W/C ratio, S/A, Crushed stone/Basalt ratio and Slump as a preliminary study for optimum mix design of concrete. The results show that the W/C ratio is the most important factor to the concrete strength. The substitute of waste basalt up to 100% has little influence, saying that it can substitute the coarse aggregate without damaging the concrete properties.

  • Carbon Fiber Sheet is very attractive for the upgrading damaged reinforced concrete due to its good tensile strength, handabilbity and resistance to corrosion. This paper discusses the applicability of continous carbon fiber sheet for a reinforcement of existeing reinforced concrete structure located in Pusan. Examples of site data and actual concrete rehabilitation project at slab structure related to construction method used carbon fiber sheet will be given.

  • An experimental investigation was carried out to evaluate the transient strain of concrete at high temperature. Two level of W/B ratio were selected as 46% and 32%. Four level of preload were adopted as 0, 15, 30, 45% of compressive strength. The entire temperature range was between room temperature and $700^{\circ}C$. Based on the test results, transient strain of concrete at high temperature was affected by the compressive strength as well as the preload level.
