Glycine max 잎의 성장 분석을 위한 Plastochron 에 관한 연구 (Plastochron indices for leaf development of glycine max)

  • The dvelopment of leaves in soybean(glycine max cv. yellow grain and glycine max cv. black grain)plant were assessed for the applicability of the plastochron index. The plastochron ages versus time in days were respectively 6.4 days in black grain and 9.6 days in yellow grain. Plots of plastochron indes(pi) versus time were linear, there were two distinct groups of regression line. when a point of intersection in the lines were upper than the reference length, pi was estimated n+(ln Ln-ln LR)/(ln Ln-ln Ln+2) or (n-1)+(ln Ln-1-ln LR)/(ln Ln-1-ln Ln+1) . When a point of intersection in the lines were less than the reference length, pl was estimated n+(ln Ln-ln LR)/(ln Ln-ln Ln+2) or (n-1)+(ln Ln-1-ln LR)/(ln Ln-1-ln Ln+1) . The growth rate of black grain plants analysed by pl was higher than yellow grain plants.

  • Camellia pukhangensis (Theaceae), a new species with yellow flowers from Quy Hop District, Nghe An Province, Vietnam, is described and illustrated. Camellia pukhangensis has nearly sessile leaves with an attenuate to caudate apex, cordate base, hirsute abaxial surface, hirsute adaxial midrib, hirsute petiole, deltate to ovate perules hairy on the outer surface, bright yellow orbicular to obovate petals hairy on the outer surface, androecium pubescent to two-thirds from the base, pubescent ovoid ovary with three (or four) locules and three (or four) pubescent styles free to the base. The morphological data support the provisional placement of C. pukhangensis in Camellia sect. Archecamellia Sealy.

연초 III형 Grey엽의 발생양상과 화학성분 특성 (An Aspect of Occurrence and Chemical Properties of Grey Leaf Tobacco (Type III))

  • The occurrence and chemical properties of grey tobacco leaves (Type III) found in 1995 crop of flue-cured tobacco cultivated in paddy field were investigated to compare with those of normal leaves. Cured leaves of NC82 were separated by visual characters into 3 classes of slight, fair and severe symptoms of grey leaf by the percentage of grey parts to whole leaf area. Number of samples classified with discoloring portion was the order of greyish brown > reddish brown > greyish yellow, respectively. Grey leaves of this type were mostly found among the leaves harvested from upper stalk position, and it was estimated that growth rate of upper leaves also influenced on the occurrence of grey leaves. Grey leaves showed remarkably lower b* and L* values than those of normal leaves, while a* value was mostly higher in grey leaves. These tendencies in chromatic aberration showed more remarkable difference in the degree of grey symptoms. Chemical analyses of grey leaf samples indicated that they contained less total nitrogen and nicotine, and more total sugar and starch than those of normal leaves. In chemical traits, these tendencies were accordance with the degree of grey symptoms, and within the same leaf, grey parts were decreased in total nitrogen and ether extract content compared with those of normal parts, but there was no difference in nicotine and Cl contents. 향끽미종 연초건조중 온도차가 건조엽의 특성에 미치는 영향 (INFLUENCE OF CURING TEMPERATURE ON CHARACTERISTICS OF ORIENTAL-TYPE TOBACCO)

  • During curing of aromatic tobacco leaves, coloring temperatures were set at 26, 30, 34, 38 and $42^{\circ}C$, and also leaf drying temperatures were established at 35, 40, 45, 50, 55 and $60^{\circ}C$, respectively, to investigate the thermal effect on characteristics of cured leaves. Appearance of yellow color from green was accelerated, the contents of non-volatile organic and higher fatty acids in leaves tended to increase with the higher yellowing temperature. Quality by price per kg was best at 45-$50^{\circ}C$ and score of smoking test was highest at 40-$50^{\circ}C$ during leaf drying stage. The concentrations of non-volatile organic acids and volatile essential oil inclined to decrease, but a reverse in this trend with higher fatty acids as temperature increased during leaf drying stage. The difference of other components was discussed.

은행잎 중 Biflavone의 계절별 함량 변화에 관한 연구 (Seasonl Variations of Biflavone Content from Ginkgo biloba Leaves)

  • The seasonal variations of five biflavones from Ginkgo biloba leaves from May to November were investigated by a reversed phase HPLC method. The total amount of biflavones was increased with time to reach its maximum in yellow autumnal leaves. Each biflavone showed a similar tendency. It increased rapidly about 3.1-fold from May to June and thereafter gradually increased about 2.5-fold. The ratio of each biflavone content to the total amount of biflavones was in the order of as follows: isoginkgetin>sciadopitysin>bilobetin>ginkgetin>amentoflavone.

잎담배의 성숙촉진 및 Alkaloid 함량에 미치는 2-Chloroethylphosphonic Acid의 효과 (Effects of 2-Chloroethylphosphonic Acid on Ripening and Total Alkaloid Content of Tobacco Leaves.)

  • CEPA를 답전작 및 우기전에 수확이 가장 빨리 촉진되면 또 니코친 함량이 저감되는지를 알고저 Yellow Special A 품종을 공시하여 적심 직후해당 농도의 CEPA 수용액을 살포한 후 일정기간을 두고 수확하여 처리수준별 성숙도 및 전 alkaloid함량을 조사하였던 바 그 결과는 다음과 같았다. 1) 처리농도가 높을수록 잎담배 성숙에 미치는 효과가 컸으며 그 효과는 처리 후 6-11일간에 있어서 현저하였다. 2) CEPA는 엽표면에만 처리해도 효과가 있으며 성숙촉진효과는 처리부분에 있어서 더욱 뚜렷하였다. 3) 처리농도가 높을수록 잎담배의 전 alkaloid 함량이 감소되는 경향이 있으며 그 효과는 성숙촉진작용후에 더 크게 나타났다. 4) CEPA의 성숙촉진작용은 성수기에 가까운 하부엽에서 컸고 alkaloid 축적억제작용은 반대로 숙기에 도달하지 않은 상부엽에서 컸다. 그러나 적기수확엽에 있어서는 축적억제효과가 부위에 관계없이 같았다. 5) CEPA 처리는 수량에 변화를 주지 않았으며 시용 적정농도는 500-2,000ppm 사이라고 느껴졌다. 6) CEPA의 성숙촉진 및 alkaloid 합성억제작용의 기구에 관하여는 금후 더욱 연구할 필요가 있다고 보았다.

Alteration of Leaf Surface Structures of Poplars under Elevated Air Temperature and Carbon Dioxide Concentration

  • Effects of elevated air temperature and carbon dioxide ($CO_2$) concentration on the leaf surface structures were investigated in Liriodendron tulipifera (yellow poplar) and Populus tomentiglandulosa (Suwon poplar). Cuttings of the two tree species were exposed to elevated air temperatures at $27/22^{\circ}C$ (day/night) and $CO_2$ concentrations at 770/790 ppm for three months. The abaxial leaf surface of yellow poplar under an ambient condition ($22/17^{\circ}C$ and 380/400 ppm) had stomata and epicuticular waxes (transversely ridged rodlets). A prominent increase in the density of epicuticular waxes was found on the leaves under the elevated condition. Meanwhile, the abaxial leaf surface of Suwon poplar under an ambient condition was covered with long trichomes. The leaves under the elevated condition possessed a higher amount of long trichomes than those under the ambient condition. These results suggest that the two poplar species may change their leaf surface structures under the elevated air temperature and $CO_2$ concentration condition for acclimation of increased photosynthesis.

PHARMACOKINETICS OF GINSENG COMPOUNDS

  • Five ginsenosides $(A_1,\;A_2,\;B_1,\;B_2,\;C)$ and a yellow pigment were isolated from American ginseng stems and leaves. Ginsenoside $A_2,\;B_1,\;B_2$ and C were proven to be identical with Korean ginseng root ginsenoside $Rg_1,$ Rd, Re and $Rb_2,$ respectively. The yellow pigment proved identical with panasenoside isolated from Korean ginseng leaves. Ginsenoside $A_1$, which was also present in American ginseng roots, was not identical to any of the known root (ginsenoside $R_{0}-Rg_{2}$) and leaf (ginsenoside $F_{1}-F_{3}$) Korean ginseng saponins. A gas-liquid chromatographic method was developed to analyze ginsenosides and sapogenins in rabbit plasma and urine samples. Panasenoside and stigmasterol were found to be the best internal standards for ginsenosides and sapogenihs, respectively. Ginsenoside C had a significantly longer half-life, higher plasma protein binding, lower metabolic and renal clearance than ginsenoside $A_1,\;A_2\;and\;B_2$. Ginsenosides were not found in rabbit plasma and urine samples after oral administration. Ginsenoside C had a higher toxicity than ginsenoside $A_2$ after intraperitoneal administration to mice. Toxicity was not observed after oral administration of the ginsenosides.

건조 황칠나무 부위별 추출물을 이용한 견직물의 염색성과 기능성 (Dyeability and Functionality of Dried Dendropanax morbiferus Extracts)

  • This study aims to examine the possibility of using dried Dondropanax morbiferus extract as a functional dye. The leaves and branches of were extracted with distilled water and 30% ethanol, and the dyeability and functionality of silk fabrics were examined according to the color characteristics of the extract and dyeing conditions. As a result of analyzing the ultraviolet and visible light absorption spectrum of the extract, it was possible to confirm the peak of flavonoid belonging to polyphenol, and the peak of riboflavin expressing yellow color was confirmed. Adsorption equilibrium was observed at 4% dyeing concentration and 60 minutes of dyeing time, and as the temperature increased, dyeing amount increased without color change of Y-series. Aluminum mordanting also increased the yellow color. The color fastness of washing and UV irradiation was low, but the color fastness of rubbing was evaluated as relatively good. The silk fabric dyed with the distilled water extract of the leaves showed a 99.9% bacteriostatic reduction against Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella pneumoniae, showing excellent antibacterial properties.

한국산 글라디올러스에 발생하는 바이러스 (The Viruses in Gladiolus hybridus cultivated in Korea 1. Bean Yellow Mosaic Virus and Clover Yellow Vein Virus)

  • Gladioli (Gladiolus hybridus) showing flower colour breaking, leaf mosaics, necrotic fleck, and dwarfing or lack of visible symptoms were collected from gladioli growing areas in Taegu and Kyungpook province, Korea. The two viruses isolated from the naturally infected gladioli were identified as ban yellow mosaic virus (BYMV) and clover yellow vein virus (CIYVV) by their host range, immunosorbent electron microscopy (ISEM), enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), direct tissue blotting immunoassay (DTBIA) and intracellural symptoms. In ultrathin sections of BYMV and CIYVV infected tissues, laminated aggregate-type inclusions, cytopalsmic bodies and nuclear inclusions as well as filamentous virus particles were observed in the cytoplasm of parenchyma cells. By DTBIA and ISEM, BYMV was detected in all tested gladiolus plants showing severe or mild mosaic symptoms, whereas CIYVV were mainly detected from those of mild mosaic symptoms. BYMV is the most prevalent in commercial gladioli and present major production problems. Detection sensitivity of BYMV and CIYVV in crude sap of infected gladiolus leaves by ISEM was about twice compared with ELISA. In a comparison of ELISA, ISEM, DTBIA, BYMV was detected in same degree by DTBIA in samples where sap extracts were positive in both ELISA and ISEM. DTBIA provides a specific, rapid, and simple tool for large-scale diagnosis of BYMV.
