Studies on antioxidative action of Garlic components isolated from garlic - Part 1. Effects of garlic components on electron donating ability and inhibitory effect of lipoperoxide formation (마늘성분의 산화방지작용에 관한 연구 - 제1보 전자공여능 및 과산화지질생성억제효과에 미치는 영향)

  • In order to study antioxidative acton of garlic, alliin, scordinin, garlic oil, ethanol fraction and non-kaolin fraction which have been discovered from garlic until now were extracted and isolated, and each fraction was utilized as the experimental materials. Antioxidative action of each fraction was compared through the in vitro and in vivo experiments. Electron donatingability on $\alpha$, $\alpha$-diphenyl-$\beta$picrylhydra-$\chi$yl, the inhibitory effect of lipoperoxide formation by TBA and peroxide value were measured and analyzed. RESULTS : 1. When observed antioxidative ability by EDA value, ethanol fraction of garlic components showed the strongest reaction as 15.25. 2. In vitro experiment with TBA value, garlic oil, alliin and ethanol fracton showed distinctive effect on inhibitory effect of lipoperoxide formation. 3. Comparing with the inhibitory effect of lipoperoxide formation with TBA value in vivo, the ethanol fraction was the most effective in the blood or liver by intraperitoneal administration, whereas the ethanol fraction in the blood and non-kaolin fraction in the liver was most effective each other by orally administration. 4. In vitro experiment with peroxide value, garlic oil was distinctive effect on the inhivitory effect of lipoperoxide formation, which was a similar to the trend of TBA value in vitro. 5. Examining the induction time for the first period of lipoperoxide formation in vitro, garlix oil, ethanol fraction and alliin were effective, which was a similar to the trend of TBA value and peroxide value in vitro.

The Rural People's Level of Value and Morality In Korea and its Implication for Rural Adult Education (농촌주민들의 가치수준 및 도덕성수준과 그 향상을 위한 사회교육적 시사)

  • This study aimed at measuring the rural people's level of value and morality, identifying its related variables, and drawing some implications for rural adult education. To measure their value and moral levels, 141 Yoncheon county adults were interviewed or asked to answer the questionnaires based on the Braithwaite and Law's(value) and Rest's(morality) instruments. The data were analyzed mainly by ANOVA, Chi square test and Pearson product-moment correlation. The major findings were: (1) The rural people mainly remained in vital feeling value(fourth) level out of five levels(religious holiness, spiritual, mind, vital feeling and sensible feeling value in order), (2) They remained in harmonious interpersonal expectations stage(fourth mortality level) out of six stage(universal ethical principles, social contract, social conscience maintenance, harmonious interpersonal expectation, instrumental purpose, and punishment/obedience in order), (3) Religion, the number of participation in adult education, and the length of such participation were three variables related to the level of value, and age, schooling years, and the number of family wane three variable related to their morality level, and (4) The relationship between value and morality levels was not significantly identified. Rural adult education needs to be more strengthened for improving their spiritual quality of life.

The Effects of College Students' Perceived Value of and Satisfaction with Loyalty Programs on Customer Loyalty in Fashion Firms (패션업체 로열티 프로그램에 대한 대학생의 지각된 가치와 만족이 충성도에 미치는 영향)

  • Loyalty programs are used by many fashion firms as marketing tools for reducing customer switching and increasing customer loyalty in keen market competition conditions. The purpose of this study is to explore and propose an effective implementation of a loyalty program for a targeted fashion firm's customers by grasping their perceived value of and satisfaction with the loyalty program. Questionnaires were administered to 329 college students in Gwangju. For data analysis, factor analysis, Chronbach's ${\alpha}$, correlation analysis, and a Structural Equation Model using the LISREL 8.30 program were applied. The results were as follows. First, the degree of perceived value of the loyalty program was classified according to cash value, convenience of use, aspirational value, and suitability of use. The aspirational value and cash value significantly affected the students' satisfaction with the loyalty program, but the convenience of use and suitability of use were not significant. Second, higher satisfaction with the loyalty program was related to higher overall customer satisfaction but did not affect customer trust and loyalty. Finally, higher overall satisfaction was related to customer trust but did not affect customer loyalty, and higher trust affected customer loyalty.

  • The purposes of this study were 1) to examine the dimension of fashion shopping mall attributes and shopping value related to online shopping, and 2) to investigate the effects of fashion shopping mall attributes and shopping value on purchase intention in online shopping. Data were obtained from 423 online fashion shopping mall consumers who have experiences of buying products or visiting to online fashion shopping mall in Busan, and were analyzed using by factor analysis, Cronbach's alpha, path analysis of LISREL 8.53. The results showed online fashion shopping mall attributes were composed of Visual information, Loading speed Space composition, Product assortment, Checkout service, and Help desk. Shopping value perceived by online fashion shopping mall consumers were consisted two factors: Hedonic value and Utility value. Hedonic value and Utility value Perceive by online consumers were influenced by Product assortment, Visual information, Help desk, and Space composition of shopping mall. Additionally, hedonic and utility shopping values perceive by online consumers impacted online purchase intention. Findings suggest that fashion shopping mall attributes mediated by shopping values are important in predicting purchase intention of online shopping mall. Implications are drawn for the information useful to consumer behavior researchers and retailers of online fashion shopping mall.

The Influence of Consumer's Shopping Value and Brand Alliances on Purchasing Behavior for Apparel Products of Internet Private Brand (쇼핑가치와 상표제휴가 인터넷 쇼핑업체의 PB의류제품 구매행동에 미치는 영향)

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate influences of consumer's shopping value, brand alliances and apparel product involvement on purchasing behavior. The subjects of 172 hedonic shopping value and 208 utilitarian shopping value were chosen to participated for data collection. The data was analyzed by factor analysis, cluster analysis, and ANOVA. The main results of study were summarized as follows: 1. When an Internet Private Brand(PB) did not form brand alliance with a National brand(NB), utilitarian shopping value consumers did not differ in preference irrespective of whether product involvement was high or not. However, when the PB formed brand alliance with well-known NB, they showed higher preference for the high involvement apparel product than the low involvement product. 2. When an Internet PB did not form brand alliance with well-known NB, the utilitarian shopping value consumers' word-of-mouth intention did not differ between the high involvement apparel product and low involvement apparel product. 3. It was revealed that when an Internet PB did not form brand alliance, the utilitarian shopping value consumers showed higher intention to purchase than that of the low involvement product.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the important factors and efficient strategies concerning internet marketing. This study tries to examine satisfaction of the on-line consumers on internet shopping mall via fashion products. To fulfill this objectives, a survey was conducted from May 15 to May 30 in 2006, and an subject of study is men and women aged from 10s to 40s in purchase experience of the fashion merchandise to internet shopping malls. Data collected over the internet, and analyzed the 205 subjects. The statistical analysis methods was frequency analysis, reliability analysis, factor analysis, multiple regression analysis. The empirical studies were summarized as follows. First, internet shopping mall's fashion goods attributes(goods characteristics, aesthetic expression, variety of goods) significantly affect consumer's utilitarian shopping value. Second, internet shopping mall good's price attributes(economical efficiency of price, price reasonableness, price value, price information, price discount) significantly affect consumer's shopping utilitarian shopping value and hedonic shopping value. Third, consumer's utilitarian shopping value and hedonic shopping value are positively related to the internet consumer's shopping satisfaction.

A study on employment preparation behavior based on motive to select dental hygiene as major and their work value among dental hygiene students (일부 치위생과 학생들의 전공선택동기와 직업가치관에 따른 취업준비행동에 관한 연구)

  • Objectives: The purpose of the study was to investigate the influence of employment preparation behavior on motive to select dental hygiene as their major, and their work value among dental hygiene students. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 444 dental hygiene students in South Korea from November 1 to 30, 2016. To analyze the data, the study used independent t-test, one way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation analysis, and regression analysis among others. Results: There were employment preparation behavior (2.9), major selection motive (3.1), and their work value (3.8) in subject. The higher student's grade is, the better prepared he or she for employment (p<0.001). Inner work value (p<0.01) and outer work value (p<0.05) were higher among females than males. Employment preparation behavior had significant positive effect on personal, social motive to select dental hygiene as their major, and their inner work value. Conclusions: Positive motivation to employment preparation behavior leads to major motive to select major, and their work value. It is necessary to consider study of diversified manners that can be fulfilled for employment preparation behavior.

Effects of Local Food Value Perception on Purchasing and Experience (로컬푸드에 대한 가치인식이 구매 및 체험에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to examine the effects of local food value perception on purchasing and experience in consumers. ${\chi}^2$-test, ANOVA, and linear regression analysis were conducted. The findings are summarized as follows: The most common place for buying agricultural products was 'hypermarkets' (41.7%), and the most important factor for purchasing local food was 'local government's certification products' (23.7%). The most important value recognition item for local food was 'I think that local food is a high-quality agricultural products'. (3.74 points), followed by 'I think that local food have a value of respect for customers' (3.61 points) and 'I have a faith for the local food'. (3.61 points) in that order. The main tourism experience activity was 'food experience' (49.0%), and information source of local food experience tourism was 'mass media (TV, newspapers, etc.)' (37.3%). As age increased, experience of local food also increased. The most effectual value recognition item for purchasing local food was 'I think that local food have a value of respect for customers'. The most effectual value recognition item for increasing intake experience of local food was 'I think that the local food is high-quality agricultural products'.

  • Purpose - This study investigates the effect of strategic orientation on market performance with emphasis on the mediative role of innovation capability, economic value and relational value in food producer companies. Research design, data, and methodology - In this descriptive study, a population of 244 managers and employees of Food industry companies in Tehran were investigated. The respondents filled a questionnaire on strategic orientation, innovation capability, economic value, relational value and market performance, during January to August 2018. Reliability and validity were evaluated by Cronbach's alpha coefficient and confirmatory factor analysis. To analyze the data, Spearman's correlation coefficient and structural equation modeling were used by SmartPLS software. Results - Effects of competitor's orientation and technology orientation on all three intermediary variables were positive and significant. The effect of customer orientation on innovation and economic value was positive and significant, but the effect of customer orientation on the value of the relationship was insignificant. Furthermore, entrepreneurial orientation has a positive and significant effect on innovation capability. The effects of three mediator variables on market performance are positive and significant. Conclusions - As the relationship between the mediator variables and market performance were positive and significant, companies should have a comprehensive plan of focus on strengthening these variables.

The Effects of Brand Value of Oriental Medicine Cosmetic on Purchase Intention

  • The study aims to investigate the effects of brand value in the oriental medicine cosmetics market, as perceived by consumers, on brand satisfaction, brand loyalty, and purchase intention. The subjects were Korean and Chinese female consumers, the primary consumers of oriental medicine cosmetics. A total of 615 sample surveys were analyzed from consumers who have experience using oriental medicine cosmetics. Out of the sample, 264 respondents had used Oriental medicine cosmetics for one to four years, 199 respondents for more than four years, and 108 respondents for three months to a year. Based on existing research, we categorized the value of oriental medicine cosmetics brands into four dimensions: emotional, social, functional, and epistemic values. Whether brand satisfaction and brand loyalty can be mediating factors in brand value influencing purchase intention was inspected through several hypotheses. As a result, except for the epistemic value factor, the brand value factors were found to have a positive effect on brand satisfaction and brand loyalty. In addition, emotional, social, and functional brand value factors influence purchase intention through brand loyalty, and it was found that brand loyalty is an important factor for oriental medicine cosmetics consumers, however mediator effects did not appear for brand satisfaction.
