  • One of the important applications in Enterprise Resource Planning(ERP) systems is the Manufacturing Resource Planning(MRPII) system using Bill of Material(BOM). The manufacturing resource planning determines the quantity and timing of the production or purchase of subassemblies and raw materials needed to support the Master Production Scheduling(MPS). The bill of material is the recipe, a list of the materials needed to make a product. This paper intends to suggest a component-based materials management system using Unified Modeling Language(UML), as an application system for automobile part industry. Applying component based materials management systems designed with UML methodology, we analyzed the workflow and the document on materials management process from production planning to inventory management, and implemented a prototype of efficient materials management system, as a surrogate of existing material requirement planning(MRPI) system. To produce many other assemblies for a automobile part firm, component parts are assembled into subassemblies that are joined to assemble the finished product. Through the system suggested in this study, the level of inventory has cut down and the cost of inventory management has decreased. Also, the development method using UML makes the analysis and design phase to shorten in implementation period of MRPII system. The implementation of materials management system using CBD shows the ease of use in software reuse and the interoperability with corporate Internal information system. The result of applying object-oriented CBD technique is to minimize the risk of life cycle and facilitate the reuse of software as mentioned to limitation of information engineering methodology.

  • Creating individualized build-up material for superficial photon beam radiation therapy at irregular surface is complex with rice or commonly used flat shape bolus. In this study, we implemented a workflow using 3D printed patient specific bolus and describe our clinical experience. To provide better fitted build-up to irregular surface, the 3D printing technique was used. The PolyLactic Acid (PLA) which processed with nontoxic plant component was used for 3D printer filament material for clinical usage. The 3D printed bolus was designed using virtual bolus structure delineated on patient CT images. Dose distributions were generated from treatment plan for bolus assigned uniform relative electron density and bolus using relative electron density from CT image and compared to evaluate the inhomogeneity effect of bolus material. Pretreatment QA is performed to verify the relative electron density applied to bolus structure by gamma analysis. As an in-vivo dosimetry, Optically Stimulated Luminescent Dosimeters (OSLD) are used to measure the skin dose. The plan comparison result shows that discrepancies between the virtual bolus plan and printed bolus plan are negligible. (0.3% maximum dose difference and 0.2% mean dose difference). The dose distribution is evaluated with gamma method (2%, 2 mm) at the center of GTV and the passing rate was 99.6%. The OSLD measurement shows 0.3% to 2.1% higher than expected dose at patient treatment lesion. In this study, we treated Mycosis fungoides patient with patient specific bolus using 3D printing technique. The accuracy of treatment plan was verified by pretreatment QA and in-vivo dosimetry. The QA results and 4 month follow up result shows the radiation treatment using 3D printing bolus is feasible to treat irregular patient skin.

  • Characterization and studies of proteome are challenging because biological samples are complex, with a wide dynamic range of abundance. At present the proteins are identified by digestion into peptides, with subsequent identification of the peptides by mass spectrometry (MS). MS is a powerful technique for the purpose, but it cannot identify every peptide in such complex mixtures simultaneously. For accurate analysis and quantification it is important to separate the peptides first by chromatography into fractions of a size that MS can handle. With these less complex fractions, the probability is increased of identifying peptides of low abundance that would otherwise experience ion suppression effects due to the presence of peptides of high abundance. Enrichment for peptides with certain post-translational modifications helps to increase their detection rates as well. Electrostatic repulsion-hydrophilic interaction chromatography (ERLIC) is a mixed-mode chromatographic technique which combines the use of electrostatic repulsion and hydrophilic interaction. This review provides an overview of ERLIC and its various proteomics applications. ERLIC has been demonstrated to have good orthogonality to reverse phase liquid chromatography (RPLC), making it useful as a first dimension in multidimensional liquid chromatography (MDLC) and fractionation of digests in general. Peptides elute in order of their isoelectric points and polarity. ERLIC has also been successfully utilized for the enrichment for phosphopeptides and glycopeptides, facilitating their identification. In addition, it is promising for the study of peptide deamidation. ERLIC performs comparably well or better than established methods for these various applications, and serves as a viable and efficient workflow alternative.

  • The success of a business process management system stands or falls on the quality of the business processes. Many experiments therefore have been devoting considerable attention to the modeling and analysis of business processes in process-centered organizations. One of those experiments is to apply the probabilistic theories to the analytical evaluations of business process models in order to improve their qualities. In this paper, we excogitate a conceptual way of applying a probability theory of proportions into modeling business processes. There are three types of routing patterns such as sequential, disjunctive, conjunctive and iterative routing patterns in modeling business processes, into which the proportion theory is applicable. This paper focuses on applying the proportion theory to the disjunctive routing patterns, in particular, and formally named proportional information control net that is the formal representation of a corresponding business process model. In this paper, we propose a conceptual approach to discover a proportional information control net from the enactment event histories of the corresponding business process, and describe the details of a series of procedural frameworks and operational mechanisms formally and graphically supporting the proposed approach. We strongly believe that the conceptual approach with the proportional information control net ought to be very useful to improve the quality of business processes by adapting to the reengineering and redesigning the corresponding business processes.

  • How do we create a next generation Records Management System? Under a rapidly changing system development environment, the records management system of public institutions has remained stable for the past 10 years. For this reason, it seems to be the key cause of the structural problem of the Records Management System, which makes it difficult to accommodate user requirements and apply a new recording technology. The purpose of this study is to present a redesigned model for a next-generation records management system by analyzing the status of the electronic records management. This study analyzed "A Study on the Redesign of the Next-Generation Electronic Records Management Process," records management technology of advanced records management system, and a case of an overseas system. Based on the analysis results, the improvement direction of the records management system was analyzed from several aspects: functional, software design, and software distribution. This study thus suggests that the creation of a microservice architecture-based (MSA) and an open source software-oriented (OSS) records management system should be the focus of next-generation record management.

  • The service identification in service-oriented developments has been conducted by based on workflow, goals, scenarios, usecases, components, features, and patterns. However, the identification of service by semantic approach at the business value view was not detailed yet. In order to enhance accuracy of identifying business service, this paper proposes a method for identifying business service by analyzing syntax and semantics in XL-BPMN model. The business processes based on business scenario are identified, and they are designed in a XL-BPMN business process model. In this business process model, an unit business service is identified through binding closely related activities by the integrated analysis result of syntax patterns and properties-based semantic similarities between activities. The method through XL-BPMN model at upper business levels can identify the reusable unit business service with high accuracy and modularity. It also can accelerate more service-oriented developments by reusing identified services.

  • In order to improve the workflow of 3D video production, this paper analyzes the visual fatigue caused from distortions in 3D video production stage through a set of subjective visual assessment tests. To establish a set of objective indicators for subjective visual tests, various distortions in production stage are investigated to be categorized into 7 representative visual-fatigue-producing factors, and to conduct visual assessment tests for each selected category, 4 test video clips are produced by combining the extent of camera movement as well as the object(s) movement in the scene. Each produced test video is distorted to reflect each of the selected 7 visual-fatigue-producing factors, and we set 7 levels of distortion for each factor, resulting in 196 5-second-long video clips for testing. Based on these test materials and the recommendation of ITU-R BT.1438, subjective visual assessment tests are conducted by 101 applicants. The test results provide a relative importance and the tolerance limit of each visual-fatigue-producing factor, which corresponds to various distortions in 3D video production field.

  • Until now, a variety of the standard and research activities are progressed in the business process management. However, since the common standard of the collaboration process language has not been determined, the research activities could not be well-systemized. We would present the guide-line to select and use the collaboration process language straightly through comparing different collaboration process languages (BPEL4WS, BPML, WSCI, WS-CDL, BPSS, etc). In this regard, we define the implicit and the explicit collaboration as the collaboration method in advance and present the result acquired according to compare and analyze the features of the collaboration process languages. First, the necessary elements the collaboration process languages have are extracted through the framework of the inter-organizational workflow proposed by Bernauer and the collaboration process modeling procedure(CPMP). Second, we analyze the properties of the collaboration process language based the essential elements. Finally, we show the complete example that the collaboration business process really reflects the characteristics of the collaboration business process languages

  • Trends of integrating products and services lead to the emergence of Product-Service System (PSS). To implement and embody a PSS solution in new product development, a comprehensive design framework is allowed designers to facilitate the design factors of the PSS in complex business environments. A physical product, containing functionalities for services, is the role of medium between customers and a manufactures. Customers can access those metaphysical interfaces to utilize the product fully or expand its performances. The PSS is aiming to prolong its lifecycle while maintaining its expected quality. Since the quality can be represented as a measure which belongs to user's perspective, guaranteeing certain level of quality can be interpreted to sustaining customer satisfaction. The objective of this paper is to propose a PSS design framework to identify design factors for developing products and services by integrating object-oriented concepts and blueprinting in context of a business ecosystem. The proposed model is developed based on relationship products and services matching with their design factors. The products and the services are then brought together to form a PSS. Functions and processes can be categorized to identify the design factors in different levels using the object-oriented concepts. Objected-oriented concepts provide PSS analysis tools for describing a business process or a workflow process in the PSS. The blueprint is used to identify the relationships between the products functions and the service processes that are offered as part of a job. To demonstrate of the effectiveness of the proposed model, we use a case study involving a smart phone.
