In this work, closing behavior of the voids generated in a casting process was investigated for various parameters such as reductions in height void size and billet rotation during hot open die forging process. The reduction in height and path schedule including the number of paths and billet rotation were chosen as key process variables to express the change of geometrical void shape and void closing behavior. On the other hand, values of die overlapping and die width ratio were set to be constant. Extend of void closure was observed and evaluated using tensile test and microscope. Based on the experimental result, it is ensured that void closure do not occur at 15% and 30% reduction in height as well as one or two rotations of a billet. The useful datum obtained from this study could be utilized to establish an optimum path schedule in the open die forging process.
Twenty six subject drove screws with a screw driver into thick wooden sheet at three vertical and horizontal locations. Subjects drive screws for 3 minutes at each location and they assessed the conditon using the psychophysical scale. An ANOVA showed that only vertical location was a signicant factor in determining the pain ratings of various body parts. Driving screws at elbow height on the vertical surface ans with the lower arm close to the body on the horizontal surface were the work locations with the smallest ratings of perceived pain and discomfort. Wearing gloves had significant effects on reducing the pain of the hand.

In this work, the movement pattern of a floating breakwater is numerically analyzed using Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamic (SPH) method as a Lagrangian scheme. At the seaside, the regular incident waves with varying height and period were considered as the dynamic free surface boundary conditions. The smooth and impermeable beach slope was defined as the bottom boundary condition. The effects of various boundary conditions such as incident wave characteristics, beach slope, and water depth on the movement of the floating body were studied. The numerical results are in good agreement with the available experimental data in the literature The results of the movement of the floating body were used to determine the transmitted wave height at the corresponding boundary conditions.
One of the devices to prevent separated flow over a wing or a flap at high angle of attack is a vortex generator. In the present work, we numerically study the flow around a low-profile or micro vortex generator whose height is less than local boundary layer thickness which can delay separation with a minimum drag penalty owing to its very small wetted surface area. As a first step toward a parametric study to efficiently design this MVG flow control system, we simulate the flow around a single MVG on a flat plate. For the simulation, we employ OpenFOAM with Launder-Sharma ${\kappa}$-epsilon model. The analysis results are validated by comparing with experimental results of a rectangular MVG at an angle of attack of 10 degrees whose height is 20% of local boundary layer. Important results and aspects of this numerical study are discussed. We also simulate the flow around rectangular, triangular and trapezoidal MVGs and the results are compared
The aim of this study was to investigate and identify the differences in lower extremity energy dissipation strategies between drop-landing and countermovement-jump maneuvers. Fourteen recreational athletes(Age : $23.3{\pm}2.1years$, Height : $172.3{\pm}4.0cm$, Weight : $69.2{\pm}4.7kg$) were recruited and instructed to perform drop-landing from 45 cm height and countermovement-jump from 45 cm to 20 cm height. The landing phase was taken as the time between initial contact and peak knee flexion. A motion-capture system consisting of eight infra-red cameras was employed to collect kinematics data at a sampling rate of 200 Hz and a force-plate was used to collect GRF data at a sampling rate of 2000 Hz. Paired t-test was performed to determine the difference in kinematics and kinetics variables between each task. During the countermovement-jump task, all of lower extremity joint ROM and the hip joint eccentric moment were decreased and the ankle joint plantarflexion moment was increased than drop-landing task. In the eccentric work during countermovement-jump task, the ankle joint displayed greater while knee and hip joint showed lesser than drop-landing. Therefore, the knee joint acted as the key energy dissipater during drop-landing while the ankle joint contributed the most energy dissipation during countermovement-jump. Our findings collectively indicated that different energy dissipation strategies were adopted for drop-landing and countermovement-jump.
This study has analyzed the association of physical activity and television watching time with obesity in 30-50 aged women from middle income town in Busan city area. Data were obtained using a questionnaire, including information about physical activity, TV watching time and health habit; social data regarding educational level and monthly income; family history of chronic condition. Height and weight were measured. Outcome variable was obesity, defined as a body mass index 25 kg/m$^2$ or greater. Odds ratios (OR) for obesity were estimated by multivariate logistic regression, and interpreted as a relative risk of obesity. The prevalence of obesity was 11.8%. The mean BMI of obese women was 26.9 kg/m$^2$. The OR of obesity was higher in subject of 40s than 30s. Subjects who had higher educational level presented lower OR than those of elementary or middle school education. Family income was not associated with obesity. Women having a family history of chronic condition had higher risk of obesity than those who did not have it. The OR was lower in active people at work (OR = 0.51; 95% CI = 0.26 - 0.98) than in inactive ones, and the ORs associated with regular exercise or activity at leisure time were not statistically different. However, subjects watching TV $\geq$ 3.5 hr/day showed higher OR (OR = 2.34; 95% CI = 1.16 - 4.74), compared with those watching TV $\geq$ 1.5 hr/day. Association of the joint classification of physical activity variables with obesity was estimated. The highest relative risk of 5.99 was in women in physically inactive at work and high category of TV watching ($\geq$ 3.5 hr/day). Even in women in active at work, the watching TV $\geq$ 3.5 hr/day made them have the high OR (OR = 2.44; 95% CI = 1.03 - 5.77). And at each time level of TV watching, the increasing activity level at work was associated with lower OR for obesity. These findings suggest that both TV watching time and physical activity at work were related to obesity in adult female, each with independent effects on obesity. TV watching time seems to be a significant factor that could partly evaluate the energy expenditure.
Fused deposition Modeling (FDM) is one of the most widely used for the prototype of parts at ease. The FDM 3D printing method is a lamination manufacturing method that the resin is melted at a high temperature and piled up one by one. Another term is also referred to as FFF (Fused Filament Fabrication). 3D printing technology is mainly used only in the area of prototype production, not in production of commercial products. Therefore, if FDM 3D printer is applied to the product process of commercial products when considered, the strength and dimensional accuracy of the manufactured product is expected to be important. In this study, the mechanical properties of parts made by 3D printing with FDM method were investigated. The aim of this work is to examine how the mechanical properties of the FDM parts, by changing of processing FDM printing direction and the height of stacking layer is affected. The effect of the lamination direction and the height of the stacking layer, which are set as variables in the lamination process, by using the tensile specimen and impact specimen after the FDM manufacturing process were investigated and analyzed. The PLA (Poly Lactic Acid) was used as the filament materials for the 3D printing.
Background: In this study, the measurement of job stress of electric overhead traveling crane operators and quantification of the effects of operator and workplace characteristics on job stress were assessed. Methods: Job stress was measured on five subscales: employee empowerment, role overload, role ambiguity, rule violation, and job hazard. The characteristics of the operators that were studied were age, experience, body weight, and body height. The workplace characteristics considered were hours of exposure, cabin type, cabin feature, and crane height. The proposed methodology included administration of a questionnaire survey to 76 electric overhead traveling crane operators followed by analysis using analysis of variance and a classification and regression tree. Results: The key findings were: (1) the five subscales can be used to measure job stress; (2) employee empowerment was the most significant factor followed by the role overload; (3) workplace characteristics contributed more towards job stress than operator's characteristics; and (4) of the workplace characteristics, crane height was the major contributor. Conclusion: The issues related to crane height and cabin feature can be fixed by providing engineering or foolproof solutions than relying on interventions related to the demographic factors.

Network-RTK GPS positioning technique based on national CORS(Continuous Operating Reference Station) and wireless internet access as like VRS and FKP was developed to overcome the limitations of traditional RTK technique. In Korea, NGII(National Geographic Information Institute) provides network-RTK service based on 51 CORS and mobile internet network. The purpose of this study is the accuracy evaluation of the height determined by GPS VRS technique based on network-RTK, So, in this study GPS VRS positioning was accomplished through 1st level BM line located at Sancheong~Jinju and $2^{nd}$ level BM line located at Geochang~Sancheong and the average error of the each BM line was calculated as 2.15cm and 1.80cm respectively. This result shows that GPS VRS height positioning can be used in $3^{rd}$ and 4th public BM leveling and also work regulation is needed to apply the GPS VRS height positioning.

The ball shear test was investigated in terms of the effects of test parameters, i.e., shear height and shear speed, with an experimental and non-linear finite element analysis for evaluating the solder joint integrity of area array packages. Two representative Pb-free solder compositions were examined in this work: Sn-3.5Ag-0.75Cu and In-48Sn. The substrate was a common SMD type with solder bond pad openings of 460 $\mu$m in diameter. The microstructural investigations were carried out using SEM, and the IMCs were identified with EDS. Shear tests were conducted with the two varying test parameters. It could be observed that increasing shear height, at fixed shear speed, has the effect of decreasing shear force for both Sn-3.5Ag-0.75Cu and In-48Sn solder joints, while the shear force increased with increasing shear speed at fixed shear height. Too high shear height could cause some undesirable effects on the test results such as unexpected high standard deviation values or shear tip sliding from the solder ball. The low shear height conditions were favorable for screening the type of brittle interfacial fractures or the degraded layers in the interfaces. The shear speed conditions were discussed with the stress analyses of the solder ball, and we cannot find any conspicuous finding which is related to optimum shear speed from the stress analyses.
