A Study on the Preference of Apartment Housing According to X-generations Life style Type (신세대 생활양식유형에 따른 공동주택 선호에 관한 연구)

  • The objectives of this study are to identify life style of X-generations in seoul, and to examine housing preference of X-generations. Data was collected through self-administered questionnaires for this study and the cases of four hundred and sixty one were analyzed. The major findings are as follows:There were four major types of X-generations want to reside in 102-135㎡ (30-40pyung) housing size. They want the specific space for leisure, working, interest, computer, sports, dressing, etc. They prefer L-DK type, kitchen furniture of a island shaped work center. X-generations consider facilities of apartment very important. They want to have automatic and high quality facilities. Housing preference differed significantly according to the socio-demographic variables and the types of life style of X-generations.

A Style-based Approach to Translating Literary Texts from Arabic into English

  • In this paper, a style-based approach to translating literary texts is introduced and used. The aim of the study is to work out a stylistic approach to translating literary texts from Arabic into English. The approach proposed in the current study is a combination of four major stylistic approaches, namely linguistic stylistics, literary stylistics, affective stylistics and cognitive stylistics. It has been shown from data analysis that by adopting a style-based approach that can draw from the four stylistic approaches, translators, as special text readers, can easily derive a better understanding and appreciation of texts, in particular literary texts. Further, it has been shown that stylistics as an approach is objective in terms of drawing evidence from the text to support the argument for the important stylistic features and their functions. However, it loses some of its objectivity and becomes dependent and subjective.

  • Organizational personnel must have well-developed interpersonal skills to deal with the different stakeholders and departments, to work at different levels in the hierarchy, and to meet varying performance requirements. Many leadership development and mentoring programs are designed to expose students as well as construction professionals to contemporary leadership techniques and skills. Leadership skills generally separate into three decision-making styles with varying degrees: 1) Autocratic, 2) Participate, and 3) Free-rein. This paper describes the study of leadership styles among 174 construction professionals and addresses the most appropriate leadership style for a project executive and a project manager in relation to compare with the characteristic leadership style and job functions. The study supports the growing importance of leadership skills as a component of managerial functions and provides a benchmark to identify a dominant leadership skill for a specific managerial position.

An Analysis of Aesthetic Characteristics in Fashion Style of Fashion Journalist Anna Wintour (패션 저널리스트 Anna Wintour의 의상 스타일 분석을 통한 미적 특성)

  • This study considers aesthetic characteristics by examining fashion style of fashion journalist Anna Wintour. Fashion journalists are specialists who work at fashion media. Especially, Anna Wintour is one of the most famous fashion journalist in the world and fashion icon, who has been editor-in chief of Vogue USA since 1988. For this study, Anna Witour's photograph was collected from 2010 to 2015 on web-sites. After collecting images, it analysed with 4criterions which were silhouette, color, fabric(pattern and texture) and hair style(and accessories) following advance researches analysis about fashion style. The conclusions of this study are as follows. First, symbolism revealed that could express her identity through utilizing steady items such as blond bob hair, Chanel bold sunglasses, short round neckless and Manolo Blahnik's low-heeled slingback nude sandals. Especially, she gave consistency to her fashion style with fixed hair style and accessories which are similar in shape. Second, femininity, that reveal as an internal characteristic such as sensitivity and as an external characteristic like fluidity. Anna Wintour expressed femininity with elegant curvy silhouette, various of color and flower pattern. Particularly, she emphasized nature women's body shape with princess silhouette, slim silhouette. Third, analysis result indicated characteristic of authority with oversize silhouette, wide lapel details and glamorous genuine fur items. Furthermore, some of her fur items looked overwhelming which dyed in artificial color or printed with leopard pattern. These powerful items contained immanent meanings that are power and position which could express a role as an editor-in chief of Vogue USA.

  • Purpose: This study was to analyze the relationship between head nurse's leadership, staff nurse's health promotion life style and job satisfaction and nursing work performance. Method: The duration for investigation took place from September 11 to 29, 2006 and 501 staff nurses. Results: Nursing work performance of 3 groups of nurses that group of nurses who evaluated leadership of head nurse is high in authority aspect but is low in harmony aspect(p<.05), group of nurses who evaluated leadership of head nurse is low in authority aspect but is high in harmony aspect(p<.01), and group of nurses who evaluated leadership of head nurse is high both in authority aspect and in harmony aspect(p<.001), was all statistically much higher than group of nurses who evaluated leadership of head nurse is low both in authority aspect and in harmony aspect. Conclusion: nursing work performance of staff nurses are compositively affected by social psychological factor such as job factor, health promotion conduct, and job satisfaction and leadership factor of head nurse.

Development of an Assembly Language Interpreter Using Monad (모나드를 이용한 어셈블리 언어 인터프리터 개발)

  • Monad in Haskell allows one to do imperative-style programming as well as pure functional programming. In this work, we characterize monadic abstraction and its programming technique by restructuring an assembly language interpreter coded in pure functional style into the one by the monadic style. Monad programming consists of two phases; the State monad is applied to a stack and a symbol table, and then a State Monad Transformer integrating these two monads is constructed. As a result, we can see that the program code by monad programming is much clearer and more intuitive than one written in the pure functional style.

  • This study was conducted to find out the actual condition of dining-out and the propensity to dining-out according to age groups and sex distinction in Pusan area. The survey was conducted on 464 peoples who live or work, including students aged more than 4th grade in elementary school In Pusan area. The results of the questionnaires are as follows. The survey on dining-out time indicated that most of peoples like to dine out at supper time more than at luncheon. The motivations of dining out were in order of the time going out with family, having party and meeting with friends. Restaurants used frequently at luncheon time were in order of flour food shop, Chinese-style food shop and Korean-style food shop, and at supper time were in order of Korean-style food shop, roasts rib shop and Chinese-style food shop. The survey on dining-out cost indicated that 71.88% of respondents were payed out less than 4,000 won Per one person at luncheon, but 54.67% of them were payed out more than 5,000 won at supper. The reasons of prefferring food shop used first were in order of delicious taste, sanitary circumstance and economical price, and of no prefferring food shop used first were untasty, unsanitary circumstance and expensiveness. But, the results of the propensity to dining-out were different according to sex distinction, age groups and jobs.

  • The purpose of this study is to crystallize the factors which influence the eating-out tendency at home and work site including in the range of Daegu city. We can find out that taste is the most important element for family eating-out style. Then comes sanitation, service, reputation of a restaurant and price in that order. There are some differences between family eating-out style and workers eating-out style. The only thing that differs from above referred to statement is that price is prior to the reputation of a restaurant. Thus, taste is more important than any other factor in investigative studies. And, in case of family eating-out style, the reputation of a restaurant is prior to price. In case of workers eating-out, however, price is more important than the reputation of a restaurant.

  • As Overturned-bowl Stupa of India, the origin of Stupa, is accepted by neighboring countries, pure form and local characteristics combined to bring change in unique style for each country. Such change is established as new style through combination with contemporary tradition in China. In this thesis, pattern of Stupa shown in Longmen Grottoes' Relief-Stupa relieves. Since study on how Indian Stupa was introduced into China has been partially undertaken, this study focuses on the pattern of Stupas from that perspective. 40 Stupas were explored during field work with naked eyes, among about 50 stupas reported on the research data by Longmen Grottoes Institute. Relief-Stupa relieves of Longmen Grottoes are as important as Yungang Grottoes. While Yungang Grottoes were built during a period when Gandhara style and Occidental expression were adopted and integrated with Chinese culture and Buddhism, building of Longmen Grottoes can be called a starting point of 'Chinese' style of Buddhist culture and Stupa, fully integrated with Chinese culture.

Epidemic-Style Group Communication Algorithm ensuring Causal Order Delivery (인과적 순서 전달을 보장하는 전염형 그룹 통신 알고리즘)

  • Many reliable group communication algorithms were presented to satisfy predetermined message ordering properties in small or medium-scale distributed systems. However, the previous algorithms with their strong reliability properties may be unappropriate for large-scale systems. To address this issue, some epidemic-style group communication algorithms were proposed for considerably improving scalability while guaranteeing the reasonably weaker reliability property than the existing ones. The algorithms are all designed for ensuring the atomic order message delivery property. But, some distributed applications such as multimedia systems and collaborative work, may require only the weaker message ordering property, i.e., causal order delivery. This paper proposes an efficient epidemic-style group communication algorithm ensuring causal order delivery to provide the indigenous scalability of the epidemic-style approach.
