  • The present study examined the relationships between work related flow (i.e., absorption, work enjoyment, and intrinsic work motivation) and role conflict causes (i.e., teacher's belief, teaching and interaction with young children, comradeship, relationships with parents, workload, supervision, and social awareness of the job). A canonical correlation analysis was performed on the data from a sample of 154 childcare teachers. The results are as follows (1) there was a reciprocal-causal relationship between teachers' role conflict causes and their work-related flow; (2) canonical function 1 showed that absorption and work enjoyment are strongly associated to a teacher's belief and supervision of conflict causes; and (3) canonical function 2 showed that intrinsic motivation has a relatively strong relationship with workload and supervision of conflict causes. It can be concluded that it is important for childcare teachers to have sufficient job resources to promote their flow at work. Further research is needed for investigation of teacher's flow at various conditions of work.

  • One of them is online community which is popular among this modern society. However, it is not appropriate to suggest that online community is solely for personal usage or solely for work-related usage. The usage of online community goes beyond only one purpose. On the other hand, our daily activities whether personal or work-related activities are usually accompanied with preconception ideas whether it is a fun activity or not. However, even with this preconception, individuals are still enjoying themselves while doing activities that are considered as boring or mundane. Furthermore, individuals are really into the activities that they forgot about their surrounding and found themselves being in flow while conducting these activities. Unfortunately, there is little research done in South Korea addressing this emotion related factors. Because of that, more research concerning emotion related factors need to be conducted to better understand users behavior especially in online environment. With regards to that concern, this research studied two distinct everyday activities which are studying and playing games in online community. It is expected that when an individual feels more enjoyable and feels more comfortable, it will be more likely for them to be more satisfied. This satisfaction will lead them to being in a flow state. Hence, this study proposed three hypotheses. In order to investigate these three hypotheses, studies were conducted in two stages. The first stage was conducted in order to derive the implicit knowledge about fun from the participants. The second stage was done by an empirical study. It was conducted with two sample groups. The first group is the study group and the second group is the play games group. There were asked a set of questionnaires related to their enjoyment, comfort, satisfaction and flow while conducting the relevant activity. The results showed that both groups reached the state of flow regardless whether they belong to the study group or play games group. Therefore, the preconception idea about an activity does not promote or prevent individuals from feeling enjoyment, feeling comfortable and achieve satisfaction while conducting those activities.

  • Swirling flows are found in very wide range of applications, for examples, cyclone separators, spraying machines, heat exchangers and jet pumps, ect. Relatively, little work has been done on the swirl flow using flow visualization techniques. This study deals with many visualization techniques to study on swirling flow. These techniques are related to oil films methods, smoke, dye liquids, liquid crystal, stroboscope light, smoke wire, white light, naphthalene sublimation, LDV(lase doppler Velocimetry) and PIV(particle image velocimetry). The present work has handled single, annular, carved tube, swirl expansion and swirl wake using several visualization methods in the vertical and horizontal circular tube.

  • The past several years have witnessed an ever-increasing acceptance and adoption of parallel processing, both for high performance scientific computing as well as for more general purpose applications. Furthermore with increasing needs to perform the complex flow calculations in an efficient manner, the use of the message passing model on distributed networks has emerged as an important alternative to the expensive supercomputers. This work attempts to provide a generic framework to enable the parallelization of all CFD-related works using the master-slave model. This framework consists of (1) input geometry, (2) domain decomposition, (3) grid generation, (4) flow computations, (5) flow visualization, and (6) output display as the sequential components, but performs computations for (2) to (5) in parallel on the workstation clustering. The flow computations are parallized by having multiple copies of the flow-code to solve a PDE on different spatial regions on different processors, while their flow data are exchanged across the region boundaries, and the solution is time-stepped. The Parallel Virtual Machine (PVM) is used for distributed communication in this work.

  • Ammonia emissions during composting of hog manure mixed with sawdust were studied in four runs comprising a total of 22 pilot-scale reactor vessels. These four runs extended previous work and both verified and extended the previous conclusions. The pilot-scale vessels were 205 L insulated stainless steel drums that were aerated either continuously (high/low thermostatically controlled fans) or intermittently (5 min high fan 55 min off). Temperature ammonia emissions air flow rates carbon dioxide production and oxygen utilization moisture and dry matter reduction initial and final chemical compositions were measured. Ammonia emissions from the intermittently aerated vessels were only about 50% as great as those from the continuously aerated ones but this was found to be a result more related to total air flow than to aeration technique. All of the data for total result more related to total air flow were fitted with a linear regression line y=0.139x+29.835 where y is ammonia expressed as g of N and x is air flow in kg with $R^2$=0.6808. this general trend indicates that about 50% reduction in ammonia emissions can be achieved with 75% reduction in air flow. For the aeration techniques used the minimum oxygen level in te exhaust gas from the vessels was 5% and this is probably a resonable lower limit constraining air flow reduction. However within this constraint lower air flow now appears to be a technique that can reduce odorous ammonia emissions.

  • On account of the text based mail system has it's limit to support multimedia applications, GUI based mail system platform was developed to control document flow and automatize information process. The existing mail systems's to transmit data must need additional functions to automate document flow control. The platform of document flow control is deeply related to EDMAS(Electronic document Management System), workflow, Electronic Banking, DMS(Document Management System) automation, so it needs an ability to control proper data and document correctly. To resolve this problems, we are need of browser and engine to design work flow and to control documents flow. In this paper, we develope a mail browser to design document flow by follow user's requirements. This system can generate executive script code for document flow, and we add the function of workflow and process management to automatize the document flow in this system, and then we implement this Data flow engine.

  • This work involves a method for modeling the flow distribution in the stack of a solid oxide fuel cell. Towards this end, a three dimensional modeling of the flow through a Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) stack was carried out using the CFD analysis. This paper examines the efficacy of using cold flow analysis to describe the flow through a SOFC stack. It brings out the relative importance of temperature effect and the mass transfer effect on the SOFC manifold design. Another feature of this study is to utilize statistical tools to ascertain the extent of uniform flow through a stack. The results showed that the cold flow analysis of flow through SOFC might not lead to correct manifold designs. The results of the numerical calculations also indicated that the mass transfer across membrane was essential to correctly describe the cathode flow, while only temperature effects were sufficient to describe the anode flow in a SOFC.

  • Effect of tip leakage flow on through flow and performance of a centrifugal compressor impeller was numerically studied using CFX-TASC flow. Seven different tip clearances were used to consider the influence of tip clearance on performance. Secondary flow and loss factor were evaluated to understand the loss mechanism inside the impeller due to tip leakage flow. The calculated results were circumferentially averaged along the passage and at the impeller exit for quantitative discussion. Tip clearance effect on Performance could be decomposed into inviscid and viscous components using one dimensional equation. The inviscid component is related with the specific work reduction and the viscous component is related with the additional entropy generation. Two components affected Performance equally. while efficiency drop was mainly influenced by viscous loss. Performance and efficiency drop due to tip clearance were proportional to the ratio of tip clearance to exit blade height. A simple model suggested in the present study predict performance and efficiency drop quite successfully.

  • Dynamic recrystallization (DRX), which may occur during hot deformation, is important for the microsturctural evolution of 304 stainless steel. Especially, the current interest in modelling hot rolling demands quantitative relationships among the thermomechanical process variables, such as strain, temperature, strain rate, and etc. Thus, this paper individually presents the relationships for flow stress and volume fraction of DRX as a function of processing variables using torsion tests. The hot torsion tests of 304 stainless steel were performed at the temperature range of 900~110$0^{\circ}C$ and the strain rate range of 5x10-2~5s-1 to study the high temperature softening behavior. For the exact prediction of flow stress, the equation was divided into two regions, the work hardening (WH) and dynamic recovery (DRV) region and the DRX region. Especially, The flow stress of DRX region could be expressed by using the volume fraction of DRX (XDRX). Since XDRX was consisted of the critical strain($\varepsilon$c) for initiation of dynamic recrystallization (DRX) and the strain for maximum softening rate ($\varepsilon$*), that were related with the evolution of microstructure. The calculated results predicted the flow stress and the microstructure of the alloy at any deformation conditions well.
