  • The previous research has been mainly focused on individual technology of voice recognition, voice synthesis, translation, and bone transmission technical. Recently, commercial models have been produced using aforementioned technologies. In this research, a new automated translation support system concept has been proposed by combining established technology of bone transmission and wireless system. The proposed system has following three major components. First, the hybrid system consist of headset, bone transmission and other technologies will recognize user's voice. Second, computer recognized voice (using small server attached to the user) of the user will be converted into digital signal. Then it will be translated into other user's language by translation algorithm. Third, the translated language will be wirelessly transmitted to the other party. The transmitted signal will be converted into voice in the other party's computer using the hybrid system. This hybrid system will transmit the clear message regardless of the noise level in the environment or user's hearing ability. By using the network technology, communication between users can also be clearly transmitted despite the distance.

  • In this paper, we propose efficient uplink data transmission method in ultra dense wireless networks as in intra-aircraft, where large-scale APs and wireless sensors are deployed. In the ultra dense wireless networks, a performance degradation is inevitable due to the inter-AP interference. However, the performance degradation can be avoided if a scheduling algorithm can estimate the amount of interference caused by each wireless sensor and reflects it. SGIR (Signal-to-Generating Interference Ratio) based scheduling algorithms is a typical example. Unfortunately, the scheduling algorithms based on the interference caused by wireless sensors necessarily yield large scale exchange of information through backhaul which connects APs. Therefore, we, in this paper, propose a novel scheme which can dramatically reduce the amount of information which are exchanged through backhaul connection. Monte-Carlo simulation results show that the proposed scheme can reduce the amount of backhaul traffic by 27% without loss of data transmission rate.

  • In this study, we used byte-inversion transmission method to prevent the flicker of lighting source in a visible light data communication link. In the transmitter, the non-return-to-zero (NRZ) signal with 9.6 kbps was on-off keying (OOK) modulated with a 100 kHz square wave carrier and byte-inversion signal was added after each byte to make the average optical power of the light-emitting diode (LED) constant. In the receiver, we used a band-pass filter to eliminate the interference of the 120 Hz noise which was induced from the adjacent light lamps, and an OOK demodulator to recover the original NRZ signal This scheme is useful in constructing wireless data networks using the illumination of visible light lamps.

  • The high-altitude and mobility characteristics of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have made them a key element of new radio systems, particularly because they can exceed the limits of terrestrial networks. However, at high altitudes, UAVs can be significantly affected by intercell interference at a high line-of-sight probability. To mitigate this drawback, we propose an algorithm that selects the optimal beam to reduce interference and maximize transmission efficiency. The proposed algorithm comprises two steps: constructing a user-location-based fingerprint database according to the user types presented herein and cooperative beam selection. Simulations were conducted using cellular cooperative downlink systems for analyzing the performance of the proposed method, and the signal-to-interference-plus-noise cumulative distribution function and spectral efficiency cumulative distribution function were used as performance analysis indicators. Simulation results showed that the proposed algorithm could reduce the effect of interference and increase the performance of the desired signal. Moreover, the algorithm could efficiently reduce overheads and system cost by reducing the amount of resources required for information exchange.

  • Most wearable system for mobile healthcare applications consists of three parts. The first part is the sensing elements based on bio-signal, the second is the circuit module for control, data acquisition and wireless communication and control and the third is garment with a built-in electrodes and circuits. The existing healthcare garment systems have to find a solution to signal-wire and uncomfortable and inappropriate electrode to long-term attachment. Even if the wireless communication is used for healthcare garment system, the interface between sensors and circuits have to use wires. To solve these problems, this paper use electrode using PEDOT coated PVDF nanoweb for ECG signal and PVDF film sensor for respiratory signal. And, we constructed garment network using digital yarn of 10um, and transmitted ECG and respiratory signal to mobile phone through the integrated circuit with bluetooth called station To evaluate feasibility of the proposed mobile healthcare garment system, we experimented with transmission and measurement of ECG and respiratory signal using nanoweb electrode and digital yarn. We got a successful result without noise and attenuation.

  • Video transmission effectiveness in the Ad Hoc network is becoming important recently, if different routing protocols are applied. Some researchers conclude that the reactive protocols are better for file transfer protocol (FTP) and constant bit rate (CBR) or hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) transmission in an Ad Hoc wireless network but the performance report of video transmission is not much. This study adopts Qualnet (Network Simulator) as a simulation tool for environmental designing and performance testing, and employs an experimental design with eight groups. Our experiment shows that: (1) The performance of AODV (reactive) protocol is better than DSDV, ZRP and DSR when the transmission load has only one video stream; (2) Proactive (DSDV) and Hybrid protocols (ZRP) are better for a smaller Ad Hoc network when it transmits a video stream with some applications (VoIP, FTP and CBR). We conclude that packet loss rate is sensitive to the quality of video transmission and it has negative relationship with Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) value. In addition, our experiment also shows that PSNR is a simple Metric for the performance evaluation of video transmission.

  • It is necessary to develop a high-speed wireless transmission system, which is able to send medical informations to the emergency medical center during emergency patient transportation. In this research, a system which transmits patient’s vital signs and a real-time audio/video contents of the event has been designed, developed, and the suitability of the system has been verified. Test results indicate that the system is capable of transmitting vital signal data, including 17 numeric data, 12 waveforms and 113 events, reading the affected part by forwarding a $320{\times}240$ pixel image at 2fps. Also, the full-duplex voice transmission of the system at 8bit/64kbps is enough to make stable communication between emergency medical technicians and hospital professionals possible. After numerous hours of driving, the packet loss of patient vital signs is 0.013%.

  • Vehicular Ad hoc Network (VANET) is an extension paradigm of moving vehicles to communicate with wireless transmission devices within a certain geographical limit without any fixed infrastructure. The vehicles have most important participation in this model is usually positioned quite dimly within the certain radio range. Fuzzy based multi-hop broadcast protocol is better than conventional message dissemination techniques in high-mobility VANETs, is proposed in this research work. Generally, in a transmission range the existing number of nodes is obstacle for rebroadcasting that can be improved by reducing number of intermediate forwarding points. The proposed protocol stresses on transmission of emergency message projection by utilization subset of surrounding nodes with consideration of three metrics: inter-vehicle distance, node density and signal strength. The proposed protocol is fuzzy MHB. The method assessment is accomplished in OMNeT++, SUMO and MATLAB environment to prove the efficiency of it.

  • Energy efficiency, low latency and scalability for wireless sensor networks are important requirements, especially, the wireless sensor network consist of a large number of sensor nodes should be minimized energy consumption of each node to extend network lifetime with limited battery power. An efficient algorithm and energy management technology for minimizing the energy consumption at each sensor node is also required to improve transfer rate. Thus, this paper propose no-overlap multi-pass protocol provides for sensor data transmission in the wireless sensor network environment. The proposed scheme should minimize network overhead through reduced a sensor data translation use to searched multi-path and added the multi-path in routing table. Proposed routing protocol may minimize the energy consumption at each node, thus prolong the lifetime of the sensor network regardless of where the sink node is located outside or inside the received signal strength range. To verify propriety proposed scheme constructs sensor networks adapt to current model using the real data and evaluate consumption of total energy.

  • Research advances in the areas of micro-sensor device and wireless network technology, has made it possible to develop energy efficient and low cost wireless sensor nodes. In this paper, the forward error control (FEC) scheme for lower power consumption and excellent BER(Bit Error Rate) performance during transmission propose in multi-hop wireless sensor network based on FSK modem. The FEC technique uses extra processing power related to encoding and decoding, it is need complex functions to be built into the sensor node. The probability of receiving a correct bit and codeword for relaying a frame over h nodes to the sink node is calculated as a function of channel parameter, number of hops, number of bits transmitted and the distance between the different nodes.
