  • 최근 무선 인터넷 서비스에 대한 관심이 고조되면서 관련 기술 개발이 활발히 진행되고 있다. 현재 가장 유력한 국제표준 중 하나로 인식되어 가고 있는 WAP(Wireless Application Protocol)의 규격에 따르면 이동 단말과 WAP 서버는 WAP Gateway를 통하여 통신하도록 되어 있다. 본 논문은 리눅스 기반으로 WAP Gateway와 Server가 통합적으로 지원되는 IWAP 플랫폼의 설계 및 구현에 것이다. 제안된 IWAP 플랫폼은 WAP Gateway JABA 기반의 Server 개발환경, WML Tool-Kit 및 MUI(Management User Interface)등 크게 4개의 모듈로 구성되고, 베어러(bearer) 망으로 SMSC(Short Message Service Center)나 CSD(Circuit Switched Data) 라우터를 고려하였다.

  • The WAP gateway. for wireless internet applications services, is a software that is placed between the user terminals(PDA, mobile phones) and the WAP/Web server. H is a middleware system that converts the protocol of a packet network to the protocol on the WAP network, and supports the encoding of WML documents. In this paper, we designed and implemented the WAP gateway based on the WAP specification version 1.2 announced by the WAP forum. It provides cross-platform compatibility by being implemented by the Java language. Compared with a Kannel system using a Nokia tool kit version 1.2, it provides a more excellent performance and a stability.

  • This paper focuses on a method to connect mobile devices such as mobile robot. Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) and Unmanned Container Transporter(UCT) to a fieldbus. In this paper, the IEEE 802.11 wireless LAN is used to extend a Profibus network for the mobile devices. In order to integrate these two networks, a gateway is developed using two threads and an internal buffer. Furthermore, a polling algorithm is applied at the gateway in order to satisfy real-time requirements on data communication, Finally, the performance measures such as data latency and throughput are experimentally evaluated on a wirelessly-extended Profibus network. The results shows the feasibility of the wireless extension of Profilbus for various mobile device.

  • Fruition for a diverse uIT(Ubiquitous Information Technology) service is currently required through the convergence of what is known as ubiquitous computing technology. In recent years, with the rapid growth of the need for information services, heavier demands have been made upon the supply of high-quality multimedia services that require a high bandwidth. Today, various home network solutions have been proposed to manage these service smoothly and a system able to deal with various types of network traffic without delays. In addition, in established home network environments that mix wired and wireless networks, along with the steady evolution of wireless network technology and the earnest development of ubiquitous computing technology, sensor-based wireless networks have emerged as a core solution for home networks. In this paper, a sensor network-based home control system supporting the next generation home gateway system for ubiquitous home environments is designed and implemented.

  • In this paper, a wireless sensor network system was embodied inside the shipping for digital ship. First, the analysis of radio environment inside ship are investigated. As a result, it was confirmed that a wireless sensor network system can be applied inside the ship. Using Shipboard Wireless Sensor Network System based on IEEE 802.15.4 technique, we designed, and made the prototype of Zigbee Node and RFID Reader. We could be sensing on shipboard and testing entrance of crew by using Zigbee Node and RFID Reader. The sensing and exit or entry control data are transmitted a server system through internet that connected Wireless Gateway with AP, so we can monitoring the saved data on shipboard database.

  • As the Internet and wireless mobile communication is being widespread, the WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) that merges these two technologies has emerged. Also, the research of the WAP gateway that enables efficient processing of multiple user demands concurrently and prompt response to requests from various wireless devices has been performed in many working groups. The WAP stack is the most fundamental technology among these researches. In this paper, we implement the WAP container utilizing the JAVA's multithreading and applying to the connection pooling technique to manage the available resource in the container efficiently. Also, we design and implement the WTP(Wireless Transaction Protocol) layer and the UDP(User Datagram Protocol) layer based on the priority Policy. Our design and implementation showed the shorter waiting time than that of the existing FCFS(First-Come, First-Served) system in the transaction layer and its efficiency was proved through simulation.

  • Recently, landslides frequently occur on natural slope and/or man-made cut slope during periods of intense rainfall. With a rapidly increasing population on or near steep terrain, landslides have become one of the most significant natural hazards. Thus, it is necessary to protect people from landslides and to minimize the damage of houses, roads and other facilities. To accomplish this goal, many landslide monitoring systems have been developed throughout the world. In this paper, a simple landslide detection system that enables people to escape the endangered area is introduced. The system is focused on the debris flows which happen frequently during periods of intense rainfall. The system is based on the wireless sensor network (WSN) that is composed of wireless sensor nodes, gateway, and remote server system. Wireless sensor nodes and gateway are deployed by commercially available Microstrain G-Link products. Five wireless sensor nodes and one gateway are installed at the test slope for detecting ground movement. The acceleration and inclination data of test slope can be obtained, which provides a potential to detect landslide. In addition, thresholds to determine whether the test slope is stable or not are suggested by a series of numerical simulations, using geotechnical analysis software package. It is obtained that the alarm should be issued if the x-direction displacement of sensor node is greater than 20mili-meters and the inclination of sensor node is greater than 3 degrees. It is expected that the landslide detection method using wireless senor network can provide early warning where landslides are prone to occur.

  • This paper relates to the study about the street security light management system. The purpose of the wireless remote management system is to manage street security lights efficiently. The system is composed of three components like light controller, CDMA gateway and web based remote management server. The zigbee solution is adopted to make local wireless network between street security lights. The CDMA network is used for the wireless communication between street security light controller and the remote control center. The gateway to interconnect zigbee network and CDMA was designed with low power 32 bits Cortex M3 micro-controller. For the data communication between the management server and the gateway, SMS and socket based TCP streaming is used. The management server sends SMS to the gateway to deliver light control and management requests, and the gateway replies with the light controllers report via TCP streaming. By using both SMS and TCP streaming communication, it was verified that simple cost effective management is possible for street security lights. We tried real test for 95 street security lights in real environment during two months and analyzed the practical possibility for mass supply.

  • PCS, Digital Cellular, CDPD, 그리고 Handheld PC와 같은 휴대단말기를 사용해 각종 정보망의 서비스를 받으려면 움직임이 점차 커지고 있다. 이에 발 맞추어 일반 이동단말기에서 인터넷을 접속 할 수 있는 여러 기술들이 개발되었으며, 현재 사용하는 것으로 Unwired Planet 사가 개발한 HDML(Handheld Device Markup Language)기술이 있고, WAP Forum에서 제시한 WAP(Wireless Markup Language)가 있다. WAP의 구조에서 가장 핵심적인 요소로서 WAP Gateway가 있으며, 현재까지 WAP Gateway에 대한 특별한 표준화가 이루어지지 않은 단계에서 각 컨텐츠 사업자가 WAP Gateway를 나름대로 구현하고 사용하는 실정이다. 본고는 보다 확장성을 가지고 무선이라는 환경에 적합하도록 서비스를 개선할 수 있는 WAP Gateway의 설계 및 구현 이슈에 대하여 다룬다.

  • In this paper, a home network gateway has been developed, which supports the ZigBee and power line communication methods at the same time. A conversion protocol for smooth information exchange between ZigBee module and power line communication module have been implemented on the gateway, and the performance and reliability of the gateway have been evaluated as good through field tests. The gateway can support various home networks.
