Cloud computing for handling data from traffic sensing technologies and on-board diagnostics

  • Based on a complete understanding research in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), the Intelligent Transport Systems rapidly build up innovative applications to ensure real time attainment as well remote management of driven information, provide a huge range of services and involve many actors in automotive ecosystem. In this paper, we present an intelligent cloud computing for handling data received from traffic sensing technologies. Transportations technologies applied in ITS have played a great role in collecting data from devices deployed in vehicles and highway infrastructures utilizing broadband wireless technologies to the Cloud. In order to facilitate the interested in automotive industry to use data collected and afford services to the car's owner, a scalable acquisition, access to computing resources and offered services are the primary goal of the proposed cloud computing.

  • 최근 무선통신 기술의 발전으로 PC뿐만 아니라 PDA, 휴대전화 등 다양한 이동 단말을 통하여 멀티미디어 서비스를 제공받을 수 있게 되었다. 이동 단말은 제한된 하드웨어 성능을 갖는 것 이외에 무선망에서 동작하므로 낮은 네트워크 대역폭을 사용하게 된다. 이러한 이동 단말의 특성을 고려하여 스트리밍 미디어 서비스를 받기 위해서는 동작 환경에 적합하게 미디어를 트랜스코딩 하는 기술이 필요하다. 그러나 이동 단말은 무선 네트워크를 사용하며, 유선 환경에 비하여 주변 환경이나 AP(Access Point)와의 거리 등에 따라서 불안정한 네트워크 대역폭을 가지기 때문에 안정적인 QoS를 제공하기 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 무선 네트워크를 통해 이동 단말에 안정적인 QoS의 스트리밍 미디어 서비스를 제공하기 위한 트랜스코딩의 동적 비트율 제어 기법을 제안한다. 제안한 기법은 무선 네트워크의 상황에 맞게 실시간으로 트랜스코딩의 비트율을 동적으로 조절함으로서 끊임없는 스트리밍 미디어 서비스를 제공하며, 기존의 동적 트랜스코딩 서비스 시스템에 비해 보다 적은 전송 오류를 발생함을 실험을 통해 평가한다.

  • Sensor networks will play an important role in the next generation pervasive computing. But its characteristic of wireless communication brings a peat challenge to the security measures used in the communication protocols. These measures are different from conventional security methods. In this paper, we proposed a security architecture for self-organizing mobile wireless sensor networks. It can prevent most of attacks based on intrusion detection.

A novel ID-based multi-domain handover protocol for mesh points in WMNs

  • Wireless mesh networks (WMNs) provide an efficient and flexible method to the field of wireless networking, but also bring many security issues. A mesh point may lose all of its available links during its movement. Thus, the mesh point needs to handover to a new mesh point in order to obtain access to the network again. For multi-domain WMNs, we proposed a new ID-based signcryption scheme and accordingly present a novel ID-based handover protocol for mesh points. The mutual authentication and key establishment of two mesh points which belong to different trust domains can be achieved by using a single one-round message exchange during the authentication phase. The authentication server is not involved in our handover authentication protocol so that mutual authentication can be completed directly by the mesh points. Meanwhile, the data transmitted between the two mesh points can be carried by the authentication messages. Moreover, there are no restrictions on the PKG system parameters in our proposed multi-domain ID-based signcryption scheme so our handover scheme can be easily applied to real WMNs circumstances. Security of the signcryption scheme is proved in the random oracle model. It shows that our protocol satisfies the basic security requirements and is resistant to existing attacks based on the security of the signcryption. The analysis of the performance demonstrates that the protocol is efficient and suitable for the multi-domain WMNs environment.

유비쿼터스 환경을 위한 다중 사용자 기반의 안전하고 효율적인 무선 네트워크 관리 기법 제안 (A Study on Secure and Efficient Wireless Network Management Scheme based Multi users for Ubiquitous Environment)

  • 최근 새로운 형태의 네트워크 환경인 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅에 대한 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 특히 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅에서 중요한 요소는 센서 네트워크로써, 저전력 Ad-hoc 네트워크에 기반한 센서와 센서 노드들로 구성되며, 실제의 환경과 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅과의 매개 역할을 한다. 현재의 유비쿼터스와 관련된 연구는 주로 RFID를 이용해 경량화된 하드웨어를 통한 네트워크 관리에 대한 연구가 진행중에 있다. 그러나 실생활에 적용하기 위해서는 보다 현실적인 시나리오와 더불어 안전성과 효율성을 고루 갖춘 보안적인 연구가 필수적으로 요구되고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 현재 연구가 진행중인 RFID 이외에 개인 네트워크에서 가장 많은 활용성을 제공하고 있는 PTD를 기반으로 다중 사용자들의 무선 네트워크 구성하고 이를 관리하는 방식을 제안하고자 한다. 제안된 방식은 사용자 주변의 신뢰된 기기를 기반으로 무선 네트워크에서 요구되는 다양한 서비스와 관련된 보안과 효율성을 높이기 위한 방식으로 기존 논문에서 전자 상거래에 사용하던 PTD를 이용해 다양한 서비스를 제공하고 임시 그룹을 설정하여 동적인 환경에 적합한 관리방식을 제안하였다.

이동 컴퓨팅 서비스를 위한 부분 연결 관리자의 설계 및 프로토타입핑 (Design and Prototyping of Partial Connection Manager for Mobile Computing Service)

  • We must solve problems caused by mobile computing environments for supporting efficient mobile computing services. The problem is the use of wireless medium having high error rates and low bandwidth, and the sudden network disconnection to reduce the power consumption of a mobile host and the cost of the network connection. For these problems, we proposed the architecture of the partial connection manager and designed and implemented that in this paper. In particular, The partial connection manager creates the limited number of mobile agents according to priority and sends them in parallel to server systems and combines results of them process rapidly the user request. By applying the proposed partial connection manager to the mobile computing services called cybermarket, we knew that the mobile agent technique could be suited to the mobile computing environment and overcome the partial connection problem caused by eh mobile computing environment.

A Classification-Based Virtual Machine Placement Algorithm in Mobile Cloud Computing

  • In recent years, cloud computing services based on smart phones and other mobile terminals have been a rapid development. Cloud computing has the advantages of mass storage capacity and high-speed computing power, and it can meet the needs of different types of users, and under the background, mobile cloud computing (MCC) is now booming. In this paper, we have put forward a new classification-based virtual machine placement (CBVMP) algorithm for MCC, and it aims at improving the efficiency of virtual machine (VM) allocation and the disequilibrium utilization of underlying physical resources in large cloud data center. By simulation experiments based on CloudSim cloud platform, the experimental results show that the new algorithm can improve the efficiency of the VM placement and the utilization rate of underlying physical resources.

  • Recently, the development of wireless network technologies has been advancing in several directions: increasing data transmission speed, enhancing user mobility, expanding the range of services offered, improving the utilization of the radio frequency spectrum, and enhancing the intelligence of network and subscriber equipment. In this research, a series of contradictions has emerged in the field of wireless network technologies, with the most acute being the contradiction between the growing demand for wireless communication services (on operational frequencies) and natural limitations of frequency resources, in addition to the contradiction between the expansions of the spectrum of services offered by wireless networks, increased quality requirements, and the use of traditional (outdated) management technologies. One effective method for resolving these contradictions is the application of artificial intelligence elements in wireless telecommunication systems. Thus, the development of technologies for building intelligent (cognitive) radio and cognitive wireless networks is a technological imperative of our time. The functions of artificial intelligence in prospective wireless systems and networks can be implemented in various ways. One of the modern approaches to implementing artificial intelligence functions in cognitive wireless network systems is the application of fuzzy logic and fuzzy processors. In this regard, the work focused on exploring the application of fuzzy logic in prospective cognitive wireless systems is considered relevant.

유무선 혼합망에서 웹 트래픽 성능에 관한 연구 (A Study about Web Traffic Performance on wired and wireless network)

  • Snoop was suitably designed for wired and wireless network as having snoop agent module in BS(Base Station) which is connecting to both wired and wireless network in order to supplement the problems of TCP. This study examined performance difference by using the web traffic taken wide possession in current internet traffic. The web traffic has greater amount of traffic, shorter life time, and smaller size than other traffics. This study found that snoop producing performance improvement of wireless network in the network mixed with the wired and wireless lead performance loss when transmitting web traffic. This study found that in case of web traffic is transmitted it bring a performance improvement of web traffic as computing BWE((Bandwidth Expansion), and also found that this study prove of performance improvement by decreasing local retranmission.

고속이동환경에서 무선랜(IEEE 802.11g)의 데이터 전송속도 측정 (Data throughput measurement for Wireless LAN of IEEE 802.11g in mobile environment)

  • 최근 들어 hot spot 서비스를 비롯한 무선랜의 활용이 급격히 증가하고 있다. 전에는 주로 옥내에서 유선랜 대용으로 사용이 국한되었지만, 무선랜의 데이터 전송속도와 성능이 크게 향상되어 옥내에서의 mobile computing 용도뿐만 아니라 옥외에서 인터넷 접속용이나 무선 브리지용으로도 그 사용이 증대되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 고속이동환경에서의 무선랜의 데이터 전송속도를 측정하여 ITS(Intelligent Transport System)나 Telematics, LBS(Location Based System) 등의 응용 분야에서 그 사용 가능성을 검증하였다.
