무용접 좌굴방지재로 보강한 철골 가새의 구조거동 (Structural Behavior of Steel Brace Strengthened with Non-welded Buckling Restraint Casing)

  • 철골 중심 가새골조는 최소의 물량으로 건물의 횡력에 대한 저항력을 확보할 수 있는 매우 효과적인 시스템이다. 그러나 중심가새 골조는 탄성거동을 전제로 풍하중에 대한 구조시스템으로 비탄성거동을 수반하는 지진하중에 대해서는 가새 좌굴 이후의 에너지 소산능력저하와 반복하중 하에 가새 및 접합부의 취성파단 가능성이 제기된다. 그로 인해 가새의 좌굴이 최초로 발생한 층에 소성변형이 집중되어 연약층 발생에 의한 건물의 붕괴로 이어질 가능성이 높다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기 설치된 H형 가새를 무용접 냉간성형보강재로 보강하여 휨-좌굴을 억제하고 인장력과 압축력에 동일한 강도를 확보하는 보강안에 대한 연구를 진행하였다.

동시최적화 설계기법을 이용한 항만용 크레인의 흔들림 제어계 설계 (An Anti-Sway Control System Design Based on Simultaneous Optimization Design Approach)

  • The sway motion control problem of a container hanging on the trolley is considered in this paper. In the container crane control problem, the main issue involves suppressing the residual swing motion of the container at the end of acceleration, during deceleration, or for an unexpected disturbance input. For this problem, in general, many trolley motion control strategies are introduced and applied. In this paper, we introduce and synthesize a swing motion control system, in which a small auxiliary mass is installed on the spreader. In this control system, the actuator reacting against the auxiliary mass applies inertial control forces to the container to reduce the swing motion in the desired manner. In many studies, the controllers used to suppress the vibration have been synthesized for the given mathematical model of plants. In many cases, the designers have not been able to utilize the degree of freedom to adjust the structural parameters for the control object. To overcome this problem, so called "Structure/Control Simultaneous Method" is used. From this, in this paper the simultaneous design method is used to achieve optimal system performance. And the experimental result shows that the proposed control strategy is useful, to the case of that the controlled system is exposed to the uncertainties and, robust to disturbances like wind.

조종면이 장착된 회전하는 발사체에서의 공력특성 분석에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study of Aerodynamic Characteristics on a Projectile with Counter-Rotating Head Installed Fins)

  • 본 연구에서는 미사일형상의 몸체(쉘)와 쉘의 헤드부에 조종면을 부착한 발사체에서 힘과 모멘트를 측정하였다. 쉘과 헤드부는 상호 분리되어 있으며, 쉘은 모터에 의하여 회전되도록 하였다. 헤드부는 쉘의 회전방향과는 반대로 회전하며, 헤드부의 회전은 한 쌍의 조종면에 동일한 회전 방향으로 각변위을 주어서 비행하는 경우에 자연적으로 회전력이 발생되도록 하였다. 실험에서의 유속은 40 m/s로 설정하였으며, 레이놀드수는 헤드직경을 기준으로 $1.3{\times}10^5$였다. 발사체의 자세제어 및 방향전환을 위하여 헤드부에 있는 다른 한쌍의 조종면은 각변위의 조정이 가능하도록 하였다. 회전하는 발사체에서 힘과 모멘트의 변화가 측정되었으며, 측정된 결과로부터 FFT 분석을 통하여 영향력이 있는 진폭과 주파수를 얻었다.

연속붕괴가 방지된 초고층 복합빌딩시스템의 예비설계 (A Preliminary Design for Hybrid Building System with Progressive Collapse Prevention Means)

  • 본 연구에서는 수평변위와 횡력의 저감을 위해서 빌딩외부의 빌딩간 변형차이와 단면2차 모멘트의 최대화를 이용하여 다수의 빌딩으로 구성된 빌딩시스템의 빌딩간 협업제어 방식의 횡력분배 및 변위감소를 제안하였다. 제안된 복합빌딩 시스템의 안전설계를 위한 방안으로 케이블 파단시의 연속붕괴방지를 위한 연결부 정착판의 추가배치와 대공간구조 자체의 질량과 강성 및 공간을 활용한 동조질량감쇠장치의 설계에 대하여 제안하였다. 도심지 인구집중과 지가상승의 필연적 결과에 대한 해결방안으로 제안된 초고밀도 복합빌딩 시스템의 설계 최적화를 위하여, 3차원 빌딩구조시스템의 2축 대칭조건과 경계조건을 이용하여 2차원 모델을 구성하고 1차부정정구조를 이루는 2차원 모델의 중요설계변수를 검토하였다. 제안된 복합빌딩구조 시스템은 인구밀도와 지가가 상승하는 도심내 최대밀도구역에서 토지이용의 효율성을 극대화시키고, 새로운 빌딩 또는 기존빌딩구조의 안전성을 증대할 것으로 기대한다.

이삭 밸 때 벼의 리올러지 특성(特性)에 관한 연구(硏究) (Studies on Rheological Properties of Rice Plants at the Booting Stage)

  • Rice plants are subjected to various forces such as natural force of wind and mechanical force of cultivating machines. Rheological behavior of the rice stem can be expressed in terms of three variables : stress, relaxation and time. The objectives of this study are to examine stress relaxation, creep and recovery characteristics on the rice stem in case of axial and radial loading. Stress relaxation with time was studied on three levels of loading rate and on four levels of applied stress. The results were summarized as follows : 1. The hysterisis losses of the rice stem distinctly observed at the radial compression in comparison with axial compression. The hysterisis loss implied that the stem to absorbed energy without being deformed beyond the yield point. 2. Ageneralized Maxwell model consisting of three elements gave a good description of the relaxation behavior of the rice stem. Rate of loading was more significant on the observed relaxation behavior within the short relaxation time, but there were little influences of rate of loading on the relaxation time. 3. The stress relaxation intensity and the residual stress increased in magnitude as the applied stress increased, but the relaxation time was little affected by the applied stress. 4. The coefficients of the stress relaxation model showed much differences in the radial compression and the axial compression, especially the higher relaxation stress of the third element was observed in the radial compression. 5. The behaviors of rice stem in creep and recovery test also might be represented by a four element Burger's model. But the coefficients of the creep model were different from those of the recovery model. 6. The steady-state phenomena of creep appeared at the stress larger than 20 MPa in Samkang and 1.8 MPa in Whajin. 7. The elastic modulus of the stem showed the range from 40 to 60 MPa. It could be considered, as a result, the rice stems had viscoelastic properties.

Hall 형 묘 및 묘쇄의 파주력 계수에 관한 모형실험 (Model Experiments for the Coefficients of Holding Power of the Hall`s Type Anchor and a Chain Cable)

  • 일반적으로 선박에서 많이 사용하고 있는 Hall형묘와 묘쇄의 파주력계수를 구하기 위하여 모형실험을 실시한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 저질 뻘에서 착의 최대파주력계수는 4.05였고, 묘쇄의 파주력계수는 0.75였다. 저질 모래에서의 묘의 최대파주력계수는 3.95였고, 묘쇄의 파주력계수는 0.66였다. 저질 자갈에서 묘의 최대파주력계수는 3.61이었고, 묘쇄의 파주력계수는 0.72였다. 2. 모형묘와 착쇄의 파주력계수는 저질에 따라서 상용파주력계수의 0.3~0.6배 였고, 안전파주력계수와는 거의 같은 경향을 나타내었으며, 다만 자갈에서는 안전파주력계수보다 1.4~1.8배 높았다. 3. 풍력과 저질에 따른 각 종 파주력 곡선도를 작성하여 한계파주력을 설정하여 활용하면 선박의 안전운용에 도움이 되리라 기대된다.

평균 포인케어맵을 이용한 Noisy Field에서의 chaos거동의 검출방법 (Detecting Chaotic Motions of a Piecewise-Linear System in the Noisy Fields by Mean Poincare Maps)

  • 랜덤하중 하에서의 구분적선형시스템이 갖는 노이즈의 영향으로 인해 그 특성이 많이 감소되거나 소멸된 응답거동으로부터 chaos거동을 검출하는 방법을 개발, 분석하였다. 해양에서 구조물이 받는 파력은 결정론적이 아닌 추계론적이다. 바람, 파도 그리고 조류 등에 의한 파력은 유한도의 랜던성을 갖으며, 이러한 파력은 지배적인 조화가진하중과 정규 백색노이즈를 더함으로써 표현할 수 있다. 외적 동요를 받는 시스템의 응답거동은 그 거동이 방해를 받으며, 이로 인해 chaos응답거동을 확인하기가 어려우며, 그 거동의 특성이 일반적인 랜덤거동과 다를 바가 없다. 이러한 경우, 평균 포인케어맵을 이용하여 랜덤노이즈에 의해 발견되지 않는 chaos응답거동을 식별할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 직접수치시뮬레이션상에서 이러한 평균 포인케어맵을 만드는 방법을 개발하였으며, 얻어진 평균 포인케어맵의 적용범위에 대하여 분석하였다. 평균 포인케어맵은 노이즈가 포함된 조화가진하중을 받는 시스템의 chaos응답거동을 확인하는데 있어서 노이즈의 강도가 높을 때 일반적인 포인케어맵만으로는 놓칠 수 있는 chaos응답거동을 성공적으로 확인할 수 있음을 알아내었다. 또한 시스템의 응답거동에서 chaos의 특성이 완전히 사라지는 노이즈의 강도를 얻을 수 있음도 알아내었다.

Design Study on a Variable Intake and a Variable Nozzle for Hypersonic Engines

  • Variable air intake and variable exhaust nozzle of hypersonic engines are designed and tested in this study. Dimensions for variable geometry air intake, ram combustor and variable geometry exhaust nozzle are defined based on the requirements of a pre-cooled turbojet engine. Hypersonic Ramjet Engine is designed as a scaled test bed for each component. Actuation forces of moving parts for variable intake and variable nozzle are reduced by balancing the other force in the opposite direction. A demonstrator engine which includes variable intake and variable nozzle is designed and the components are fabricated. Composite material with silicone carbide is applied for high temperature parts under oxidation environment such as leading edge of the variable intake and combustor liner. Internal cooling structure is adopted for both moving and static parts of the variable nozzle. Pressure recovery and mass capture ratio of the variable intake at Mach 5 is obtained by a hypersonic wind tunnel test. Flow characteristics of the variable nozzle are obtained by a low temperature flow test. Wall temperature and heat flux of the nozzle at Mach 3 is obtained by a firing test. As results, the intake and the nozzle are proved to be used at designed pressure and temperature environment.

Response characteristics and suppression of torsional vibration of rectangular prisms with various width-to-depth ratios

  • The response characteristics and suppression of flow-induced vibrations of rectangular prisms with various width-to-depth ratios were experimentally investigated. The prisms were rigid and elastically mounted at both ends to enable constrained torsional vibrations only. The present study focused on torsional vibrations, one of the three types of flow-induced vibrations generated in a rectangular prism. First, the response characteristics of torsional vibrations generated in rectangular prisms were investigated by free-vibration tests. It was found that the response characteristics of torsional vibrations generated in rectangular prisms could be classified into six patterns depending on the width-to-depth ratio. Next, the response characteristics of torsional vibrations observed in the free-vibration tests were reproduced by forced-vibration tests, and the mechanisms by which the three types of flow-induced vibrations, low-speed torsional flutter, vortex excitation and high-speed torsional flutter, are generated in the rectangular prisms were elucidated on the basis of characteristics of fluid forces and visualized flow patterns. Experiments were also carried out to establish an effective method for suppressing flow-induced vibrations generated in the rectangular prisms, and it was found that low-speed torsional flutter and high-speed torsional flutter could be suppressed by placing a small normal plate upstream of the prism, which results in suppression of the alternating rolling-up of the shear layers separating from the leading edges of the prism. It was also found that vortex excitation could be suppressed by placing a splitter plate downstream of the prism, which results in suppression of the generation of wake vortices.

Motion Analysis of Two Floating Platforms with Mooring and Hawser Lines in Tandem Moored Operation by Combined Matrix Method and Separated Matrix Method

  • The motion behaviors including hydrodynamic interaction and mechanical coupling effects on multiple-body floating platforms are simulated by using a time domain hull/mooring/riser coupled dynamics analysis program. The objective of this study is to evaluate off-diagonal hydrodynamic interaction effects and mechanical coupling effects on tandem moored FPSO and shuttle taker motions. In the multiple-body floating platforms interaction, hydrodynamic coupling effects with waves and mechanical coupling effects through the connectors should be considered. Thus, in this study, the multiple-body platform motions are calculated by Combined Matrix Method (CMM) as well as Separated Matrix Method (SMM). The advantage of the combined matrix method is that it can include all the 6Nx6N full hydrodynamic and mechanical interaction effects among N bodies. Whereas, due to the larger matrix size, the calculation time of Combined Matrix Method (CMM) is longer than the Separated Matrix Method (SMM). On the other hand, Separated Matrix Method (SMM) cannot include the off-diagonal 6x6 hydrodynamic interaction coefficients although it can fully include mechanical interactions among N bodies. To evaluate hydrodynamic interaction and mechanical coupling effects, tandem moored FPSO and shuttle tanker is simulated by Combined Matrix Method (CMM) and Separated Matrix Method (SMM). The calculation results give a good agreement between Combined Matrix Method (CMM) and Separated Matrix Method (SMM). The results show that the Separated Matrix Method (SMM) is more efficient for tandem moored FPSO and shuttle tanker. In the numerical calculation, the hydrodynamic coefficients are calculated from a 3D diffraction/radiation panel program WAMIT, and wind and current forces are generated by using the respective coefficients given in the OCIMF data sheet.
