Determination of Double-K Fracture Parameters of Concrete Using Split-Tension Cube: A Revised Procedure

  • This paper presents a revised procedure for computation of double-K fracture parameters of concrete split-tension cube specimen using weight function of the centrally cracked plate of finite strip with a finite width. This is an improvement over the previous work of the authors in which the determination of double-K fracture parameters of concrete for split-tension cube test using weight function of the centrally cracked plate of infinite strip with a finite width was presented. In a recent research, it was pointed out that there are great differences between a finite strip and an infinite strip regarding their weight function and the solution of infinite strip can be utilized in the split-tension specimens when the notch size is very small. In the present work, improved version of LEFM formulas for stress intensity factor, crack mouth opening displacement and crack opening displacement profile presented in the recent research work are incorporated. The results of the double-K fracture parameters obtained using revised procedure and the previous work of the authors is compared. The double-K fracture parameters of split-tension cube specimen are also compared with those obtained for standard three point bend test specimen. The input data required for determining double-K fracture parameters for both the specimen geometries for laboratory size specimens are obtained using well known version of the Fictitious Crack Model.

광결상계의 초분해능 (Superresolution of Optical Imaging System)

  • Rayleigh의 분해능 한계 $\epsilon_R$보다 작은 선폭 $\epsilon_0$을 분해할 수 있는 광결상계사 이론적으로 취급되었고, 이어서 초분해능을 지니는 광학계가 제시되었다. 먼저 초분해능을 역변환 문제로 취급하여 초분해능 회절상의 진폭 임펄스 함수를 주는 적분방정식을 도입하고 매개변수 $\beta$(양정수)에 따라서 진폭 임펄스 함수의 반치폭이 조사되었다. 이 초분해능 광학계의 구경함수의 진폭 분포가 변조되었고 또 구경에서 나가는 Huygens 파동의 위상도 Holography로 변조되었다. 이들의 변조를 위하여 이용된 광변조 소자가 제시되었다. 초미세 광리소그라피에 유용한 결론을 얻었다.

  • 강우-유출모형의 유도와 적용에 고려되야할 규모문제를 검토하여 모형의 지형매개변수와 해상도간의 관계를 분석하고자 한다. 일반적으로 지형인자들의 측정과 계산은 주어진 정보의 해상도에 의존하며 또한 민감하다. 따라서 지형인자를 적용하는 강우-유출 모형은 분석에 이용한 해상도의 영향을 반영할 수 있어야 한다. 본 연구에서 유도된 강우-유출모형은 규모문제가 고려될 수 있는 GIUH 모형으로 이 모형은 유역의 수문응답을 하도망응답과 사면응답으로 분리하여 모의한다. 하도망응답의 계산은 선형화된 St. Venant 식으로부터 유도한 확산근사법을 이용하였고 사면응답은 2모수 gamma 분포식을 사용하였다. 하도망의 지형적 특성과 응답의 초기분포는 폭함수에 의하여 나타내어진다. 본 연구에서는 규모문제를 고려하여 Fractal 이론 및 Melton의 지형법식을 이용하여 폭함수를 유도한국였고 이를 유원위치함수를 이용하여 가중치를 부가하였다.

Modeling of low-dimensional pristine and vacancy incorporated graphene nanoribbons using tight binding model and their electronic structures

  • Graphene, with impressive electronic properties, have high potential in the microelectronic field. However, graphene itself is a zero bandgap material which is not suitable for digital logic gates and its application. Thus, much focus is on graphene nanoribbons (GNRs) that are narrow strips of graphene. During GNRs fabrication process, the occurrence of defects that ultimately change electronic properties of graphene is difficult to avoid. The modelling of GNRs with defects is crucial to study the non-idealities effects. In this work, nearest-neighbor tight-binding (TB) model for GNRs is presented with three main simplifying assumptions. They are utilization of basis function, Hamiltonian operator discretization and plane wave approximation. Two major edges of GNRs, armchair-edged GNRs (AGNRs) and zigzag-edged GNRs (ZGNRs) are explored. With single vacancy (SV) defects, the components within the Hamiltonian operator are transformed due to the disappearance of tight-binding energies around the missing carbon atoms in GNRs. The size of the lattices namely width and length are varied and studied. Non-equilibrium Green's function (NEGF) formalism is employed to obtain the electronics structure namely band structure and density of states (DOS) and all simulation is implemented in MATLAB. The band structure and DOS plot are then compared between pristine and defected GNRs under varying length and width of GNRs. It is revealed that there are clear distinctions between band structure, numerical DOS and Green's function DOS of pristine and defective GNRs.

  • 본 논문에서는 마이크로스트립 개방선로와 선형공진기에 대해서 라인의 측방향 전역함수를 이용하여 모멘트법으로 해석하였다. 마이크로스트립 라인의 기판의 유전율 두께와 라인을 폭을 포함하는 측방향의 상관함수를 유도하였다. 제안된 방법을 검증하기 위하여 몇가지의 수치해석 예제에 대하여 제안 방법과 다른 방법에 대하여 해석하여 그 결과를 비교하였다 이 방식이 기존의 방법에 대해서 보다 더 정확한 결과를 얻을 수 있음이 관측되었다.

  • The domestic concrete standard specification(l999) reports roughly about heat transfer analysis and thermal stress analysis for mass concrete. Engineers cannot but choice after all numerical method such FEM, FDM to escape review. It seems to us that the specification is room for reconsideration because above methods are vary expensive and without popularity. This study suggests thermal distributed function in mass concrete. The function consists of two independent variables, curing time and depth. It's results have been tested a sensitivity for unit cement content, form condition, curing condition, and shape(depth, width). Results of the function are made a comparison with analytical values of MIDAS/CIVIL and a few measurement values. The researchers could meet with coherent and good results for variable cases.

  • A band function model paired comparison(BMPC) method is a kind of paired comparison methods. Considering that human has ambiguity, the BMPC method uses a monotonous increase function with the width as the human judgment characteristic. Since panel´s judgments do not always have enough response, it is very important to examine inspection abilities of each panel. In this study.   • The shape and width of fuzzy membership function has an effect on performance of fuzzy controller. In this paper, neuro-fuzzy controller is proposed to improve the control performance of fuzzy controller. It has membership function, that is adapt to plant constant by using trained neural network. This neural network has been trained with back propagation algorithm. To show the effectiveness of proposed neuro-fuzzy controller with adaptive membership function, it is applied to plant (dead time + 1st order) with various plant constant.

A COMPARISON STUDY OF THE EFFECTS OF NASAL BREATHING DYSFUNCTION DUE TO ADENOID OBSTRUCTION ON DENTITION BY FACIAL TYPE

  • In discussing the effects of adenoids on the development of the face and dentition, it is important to note their influence on the mode of breathing and to relate this to specific facial types and dentition. This study, therefore, assumed that the ability to adapt to individual's neuromuscular complex is various. And tried to investigate the effects of reduced nasal respiratory function on the development of dentition by facial type. This paper is based on children patients with enlarged adenoids and comparing them to data taken from a control group with normal respiratory function. Among the three facial types, the most statistical significant difference was observed from dolichofacial type between experimental and control group. In dolichofacial type, the experimental group showed labioversion of upper incisor, decrease in the width of upper arch, increase in overjet, increase in the rate of cross-bite, and increase in the height of palatal vault. No significant difference was observed between the two groups in the inclination of upper and lower incisors in mesofacial type, but the experimental group was observed to show decrease in the width of upper arch and increase in the height of palatal vault. On the other hand, in brachyfacial type, no significant difference was observed between the two groups in dentition variables except showing linguoversion of upper incisor. The results, which were observed in dolichofacial type, consist with Nordlund's theory of Compression.
