낙엽조경수목의 개화 및 화색에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Anthesis and Flower Color Characteristics of Deciduous Woody Landscape Plants)

  • We investigated the seasonal changes flower color of 163 deciduous woody landscape plants in the Suwon region from January 1, 1992 to March 20, 1993. The results were as follows; 1. By the month of anthesis of woody landscape plants, only one plant of Hamamelis japonica flowered in February, 15 species in March, 48 species in April, 63 species in May, 23 species in June, 12 species in July, and one plant of Hydrangea paniculata was flowered in August. 2. The flowering period was about 220 days from February 24, 1992 that Hamamelis japonica was anthesis to October 5, 1992 when Hydrangea paniculata was deblossomed. 3. By the flowering period of woody landscape plants, 81 species continued for 11 days through 20 days, and Rosa spp., 118 days, Hibiscus syriacus 'Yungkwang', 80 days, Largerstroemia indica, 65 days, and 6 species continued for 41 through 60 days, 10 species were 31 through 40 days, 43 species were 21 through 30 days, and 20 species were for less than 11 days. 4. The woody landscape plants flowering before leaf spreading, Hamamelis japonica, Abeliophyllum distichum, Prunus mume 'Hwahyangmi', Prunus mume 'Baekkaha', Lindera obtusiloba, Cornus officinalis, Prunus armeniaca. The others were plants with leaves spreading white flowering; Forsythia ovata 'Tetra gold', Forsythia ovata, Corylus hetrophylla, Rhododendron mucronulatum, Magnolia denudata, Forsythia koreana 'Seoul Gold', Forsythia koreana, Magnolia stellata, Acer negundo 'Elegans', Magnolia kobus, Forsythia viridissima 'Bronxensis', Prunus yedoensis, Prunus leveilleana var. pendula, Prunus persica for. albiplena, Prunus tomentosa, Prunus persia, Magnolia liliflora, Prunus glandulosa for. sinensis, Cercis chinensis, Poncirus trifoliata. 5. In terms of flower color based on KBS standard color number, 83 species were white, 44 species wer red, 21 species were yellow, 12 species were violet, and 3 species were green. 6. In terms of the flower color by month. Hamamelis japonica was yellow February. Flower colors in March were : yellow-7 species, red-3 species and white-5 species. Flower colors in April were : White-21 species, red-19 species and yellow-6 species. Flower colors in May were : White-36 species, red-16 species. The white flowers in June were 16 species. Flower colors in July were : white-4 species, red-4 species. 7. The white flower color of woody landscape plants of trees was 35 species. The red flower color was 18 species, yellow flower color was 5 species, violet flower color was 2 species, and green flower color was 3 species. Also the white flower color of woody landscape plants of shrubs was 48 species, red flower color was 25 species, yellow flower color was 17 species and violet flower color was 10 species. 8. The new 'Cultivars' of woody landscape plants are needed to introduced the development of planting design. 9. Present data of illustrated books of plants should be checked by new data that was studied in this research.

국화속 구절초무리와 근연종인 산국 및 감국 에서 보이는 잎의 해부학적 특징 (Variations of leaf thickness in the Chrysanthemum zawadskii complex and in two related Korean species: C. boreale and C. indicum (Asteraceae))

  • 구절초 무리는 국내에 분포하는 국화속 중 흰색 또는 분홍색의 설상화를 가지는 특징으로 인해 다른 두 종과 구별되는데 외부형태학적 변이로 인하여 다양한 분류학적 견해가 제안되어 온 분류군이다. 본 연구에서는 지금까지 국화속의 종 및 종내 분류군을 인식하기 위해 이용되어 온 형태학적 형질 중 구절초 무리내의 종내 분류군을 인식하기 위한 특징의 일부로서 사용된 바 있는 잎의 두께에 주목하여 구절초 무리에 속하는 13개 집단과 근연종인 산국 및 감국의 4개 집단을 이용하여 잎의 구조적 특징을 확인하였다. 이를 위해 잎의 횡단절편을 제작하여 엽신의 두께와 세포층 수, 세포의 크기를 비교하였다. 잎의 두께를 확인해본 결과 산국, 감국, 구절초 무리 순으로 두꺼운 것으로 나타났으며 세 종 모두 9개 전후의 세포층으로 구성되어 있어 잎의 두께는 세포층 수가 아니라 세포 크기에 따라 달라지는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 구절초 무리 내에서는 집단 간에 잎의 형태 및 두께에서 다양한 변이를 보였는데 가는잎구절초, 바위구절초, 울릉구절초, 한라구절초 등 특히 제한적인 분포를 보이는 분류군들이 전국적인 분포를 보이는 분류군에 비해 상대적으로 두꺼운 잎을 가지는 것이 확인되었고, 이는 각 분류군이 고유의 서식환경에 적응한 결과로 생각된다.

  • 묘삼을 분재배하여 인공기상실 $15^{\circ}C$ 자연광실에서 여러가지 색의 셀로판지를 차광재로로 5~10%의 투광율로 재배하였다. 상대근중9최종생근 중/최초 생근 중)은 청>녹>백>황>적의 순서였다. 지상부 생육 특히 경장은 청색 광하에서 가장 저조하였다. 상대근중은 경장과 부상관을 보였으며 이 관계에서 각 광질은 특수한 영역을 보여 청과 녹이 한 군, 적과 황이 다른 한 군으로 분리되었다. 경장은 주당엽 면적과 전체 또는 각개의 광질내에서 정상관을 보였는데 적색 광에서만 유의성이 없었다. 잎중의 엽록소 a 및 b의 함량 또는 엽록소 a/b 비율은 백>청>녹>적>황의 순이었으며 엽록소 a와 b간, 전엽록소와 a/b 비율간 a/b 비율과 엽록소 a간에 모두 고도의 유의 정상관을 보였다. 이상의 사실들은 청색 차광자재가 인삼생산에 유리할 것임을 보여준다.

Development of Molecular Detection of Three Species of Seed-Transmissible Viruses Useful for Plant Quarantine

  • Three pairs of specific primers were developed for rapid and precise RT-PCR detection of three seed-transmissible viruses, namely Peanut clump virus (PCV, Pecluvirus), White clover mosaic virus (WCIMV, Potexvirus) and Carrot red leaf virus (CaRLV, Luteovirus). Each primer set was found in conserved region through multiple sequence alignment in the DNAMAN. Total nucleic acids extracted from PCV-, WCMV-, and CaRLV-infected seeds and healthy plants were used for RT-PCR detection using each virus-specific primer, Sizes of PCV, WCIMV, and CaRLV PCR products were 617bp (PCV-uni5 and PCV-uni3 primers), 561bp (WCMV-CP5 and WCMV-CP3 primers), and 626bp (CL1-UP and CL2-DN primers); which corresponded to the target sizes. Nucleotides sequences of each amplified cDNA were confirmed which belonged to the original virus. This study suggests that these virus-specific primer sets can specifically amplify viral sequences in infected seeds. Thus, they can be used for specific detection of three viruses (PCV, WCMV and CaRLV) from imported seed samples for plant quarantine service.

엽채류의 환경제어 모델연구 III. 배지와 양액 종류에 따른 식물의 생육변화 (Studies on the Modeling of Controlled Environment in Leaf Vegetable Crops)

  • 양액재배시 배지 및 양액종류의 차이가 백경채, 탑채, 상추, 쑥갓 및 잎들깨의 생육에 미치는 영향을 구명하고자 실시한 실험의 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 전반적으로 순수담액처리구와 혼합상토의 생육이 크게 차이나지는 않았으나 순수담액처리구의 생육이 가장 양호하였고, 모래배지에서의 생육이 가장 저조하였다. 백경채, 탑채, 상추와 잎들깨의 생육은 순수담액의 산기양액처리구에서 가장 좋았으며 쑥갓의 경우 양액종류에 관계없이 순수담액처리구에서 생육이 양호하였다. 2. 엽록소의 상대적 함량은 처리간에 큰 차이가 없었다. 3. Vitamin C의 함량은 처리구간에 차이가 크지 않았으나 공시작물 공히 전반적으로 양액의 종류에 상관없이 혼합상토처리구가 가장 높았고, 모래배지가 가장 낮았다. 그러나 잎들깨에서는 모래배지와 순수담액배지간에 차이가 없었다.

중형 백색계 다화성 심비디움 'Honey Girl' 육성 (Cymbidium 'Honey Girl' with White Color and Medium Plant Size)

  • 'Honey Girl' 품종을 개발하기 위하여 1995년도에 적색 설판이 있는 백색계열의 소형 심비디움 'Yakoto'을 모본으로 하고 착화성이 우수한 백색계 중대형종 'Marian Simplicity"를 부본으로 하여 교배를 실시하였다. 1996년부터 1999년까지 실생계통 57개체를 양성하면서 엽형, 화색, 화형이 우수한 개체를 선발하여 2000~2004년에 1, 2차 특성검정과 품평회 결과 생육 및 개화특성이 우수한 원교 'F1-13' 계통을 최종 선발하였다. 이 품종은 생육이 강건하고 화색이 선명하고 화형이 둥글고 꽃 폭이 약 7.7cm 정도로 크며 화경의 늘어짐이 적고 초세가 강하고 개화시기는 11월 하순에서 1월경이었다.

Morphological characters, Total phenolic content, and Fatty Acid Compositions of Safflower (Carthamus tinctorius) Genetic Resources

  • Safflower, a draught and salt tolerant oil seed crop of Compositae family, has been cultivated around the world mainly as source of edible oils and dyes, where India, the USA, Mexico, Australia, and Ethiopia contributing about 85% of the production altogether. In this study we have characterized some selected morphological properties of safflower plant and determined the the total phenolic content (TPC) and fatty acid composition in seeds of 237 genetic resources. All the seed coats were white colored while the petals had red, yellow and white pigments. The yellow was the predominant petal color being recorded in 182 accessions followed by red occurring in 49 accessions. The petal color of 47 of the accessions changed with development while the 190 accession showed no change of color. The leaves are ovate to obovate, mostly with dentate (21 moderate and 205 weak) and few smooth (11) margins. The plant length, leaf length, and leaf width were ranged between 65.7 and 160.8 cm, 14.3 and 37.0 cm, and 3.3 and 12.1 cm, respectively. The TPC was determined using Folin-Ciocalteu method and fatty acid compositions were evaluated using gas chromatography. The TPC content ranged from 23.71 to 132.72 µgGAE/mg dried extract (DE). The seeds of safflower genetic resources accounted an average crude fat content of 26.25% (14.84 to 41.70%). The total fatty acid is mainly comprised of 71.72% linoleic acid (18:2) and 20.08% oleic acid (18:1) on average, the remaining palmitic acid (16:0), stearic acid (18:0) and linolenic acid (18:3) contributing 5.84, 2.23 and 0.15 %, respectively. The fatty acid composition of safflower seeds has shown great variability, where oleic and linoleic acid have a wide range of variation, from 9.23 to 83.35% and from 10.46 to 82.62%, respectively

러시안 컴프리와 케일의 급여(給與)가 병아리의 성장률(成長率), 영양소(營養素) 이용률(利用率) 및 혈청(血淸) Cholesterol 함량(含量)에 미치는 영향(影響) (Effects of Supplementing Russian Comfrey and Kale on the Growth Rate, Nutrients Utilizability and Serum Cholesterol of Chicks)

  • This experiment was conducted for 4 weeks to compare the feeding values of dried meal of Russian Comfrey and Kale as green feeds with Acacia leaf meal and Ladino clover meal, and to investigate the effects of feeding these on the total cholesterol in blood serum and liver fat content. Seventy-five male chicks of Single Comb White Leghorn were allotted into 5 treatments. Fifteen birds in each treatment were received Russian Comfrey meal, Kale meal, Acasia leaf meal, Ladino clover meal or no dried meal, respectively. The results obtained are summarized as follows: 1. No significant differences were recognized between the treatments and control in the growth rate, feed consumption, feed efficiency, utilization of nutrients, nitrogen retention and metabolizable energy value. 2. Carotene content in Russian Comfrey and Kale has been decreased as the growing stage advanced, and the leaves of both vegetable contained significantly (p<0.01) more carotene than that in stems. Vitamin C content of leaves was also signifcantly (p<0.01) higher than that in stems, however, vitamin C content has been increased as the growing stage advanced. 3. Toltal cholesterol content in blood serum of the chickens fed the Acacia leaf meal or Russian Comfrey meal was significantly (p<0.05) lower than Ladino clover meal fed group or those received no green feeds. Kale seems to decrease cholesterol content a little. Above results indicated that Acacia leaf and Russian Comfrey might contain certain substances that would depressing the cholesterol content. 4. No significant differences in the liver fat were discovered among the treatment but it was observed that liver fat was decreased as the cholesterol content increased.

Petunia hybrida 세포내로의 rolC 유전자의 도입 (Introduction of rolC gene into Petunia hybrida)

  • 쌍떡잎식물체 형질전환에 널리 쓰이는 Agrobacterium의 binary vector를 이용하여 왜화성을 나타내는 pGA643-rolC gene을 엽절편 transformation방법으로 petunia에 도입하였다. Petunia hybrida의 재분화에 있어 엽조직으로부터 식물체 재분화에 미치는 생장조절물질의 효과는 0.1mg/L NAA와 1.0mg/L BA의 조합에서 높았고 재분화된 식물체도 양호하였다. 식물체 형질전환 선발배지에 에틸렌 억제제인 AgNO$_3$와 KMnO$_4$의 첨가시 형질전환체 재분화율이 높게 나타났으며, AgNO$_3$에 비해 KMnO$_4$처리구에서 보다 많은 식물체 재분화율을 나타내었으나 AgNO$_3$와 KMnO$_4$의 고농도 첨가시 다소의 유리화 현상이 발생하였으므로 3mg/L KMnO$_4$ 첨가가 식물체 재분화에 적합한 것으로 생각된다. 항생제 200mg/L kanamycin, 500mg/L carbenicylin 과 1.0 mg/L BA, 0.1mg/L NAA가 첨가된 형질전환 선발배지에서 엽절편으로 부터 형질전환 된 것으로 추정되는 식물체들을 일차 선발하였고 기외로 이식한 후 genomic DNA를 분리하여 Southern blot analysis법으로 분석한 결과 외래 유전자가 식물체의 genomic DNA내로 삽입된 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

식물재배용 LED 광원의 광질과 PPFD에 따른 청치마상추의 성장에 관한 연구 (A Study on Growth of the Green Leaf Lettuce Depends on PPFD and Light Quality of LED Lighting Source for Growing Plant)

  • The artificial light sources for growth of plant are usually high-pressure sodium lamp, metal haloids lamp, and fluorescent light; however, these light sources have relatively weaker Red and Blue lights that are necessary for growth of plants. Especially the effect of Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density (PPFD) is pointed out as the weakness. Meanwhile, LED light source can be selected by specific wavelength to greatly improve the effect of PPFD. In this regard, this paper aims to investigate the promotion of plant growth by measuring photosynthetic photon flux density (hereafter referred to as PPFD) according to changes in light quality of the LED light sources. Towards this end, LED light sources for plant growth were produced with 4 kinds of mono-chromatic lights and 6 kinds of combined lights by mixing red, blue, green and white lights. A comparative analysis was conducted to investigate the effects of optical properties and PPFD on plants (green leaf lettuce) using the produced light sources. The results monochromatic light has fastest growth rate, but plant growth conditions have poor. This being so, mixed light is suitable for the green leaf lettuce.
