인공습지를 이용한 하구담수호 유입하천수 수질개선 현장실험결과 분석 (Analysis of Field Experimental Data for Water Quality Improvement of Tributary Stream to Estuarine Reservoir Using Constructed Wetland System)

  • Wetland system is widely accepted as one of natural water purification systems around the world for nonpoint sources pollution control. Constructed wetlands have become a popular technology for treating contaminated surface and waste water. In this study, the field experiment to reduce nonpoint source pollution loadings from polluted stream waters using wetland system was performed from June 2002 to March 2004. Four wetlands were used and the size of each one was 0.8ha. Water of Dangjin stream flowing into Seokmun estuarine reservoir was pumped into wetlands. Inflow and hydraulic residence time of the system was 500 $m^3$/day∼1,500 $m^3$/day, 2∼5 days, respectively. After 2 year operation, plant-coverage of the wetlauds was about 70% from bare soil surface at initial stage . Average water quality of the influent was $BOD_5$ 4.17 mg/L, TSS 18.45 mg/L, T-N 4.32 mg/L, and T-P 0.30 mg/L. The average removal rate of $BOD_5$, TSS, T-N and T-P during the study period was 5.6%, 46.6%, 45.7%, and 54.8%, respectively. Organic ($BOD_5$) removal rate was low and the reason might be low influent concentration. Wetland removal rate of T-P was about 10% higher than T-N. Performance of the experimental system was compared with existing data base (NADB), and it was within the range of general system performance. Overall, the wetland system was found to be adequate for treating polluted water stream with stable removal efficiency even during the winter period. Most of the nonpoint source pollutions from watershed are transported by streams or ditches, and they could be controled by constructed wetland system before entering the lake or reservoir.

한강하구 습지보호지역에서 새섬매자기 개체군의 쇠퇴 원인과 복원 방안 (Population decline cause of Scirpus planiculmis and its restoration plan in Han River Wetland Conservation Area, South Korea)

  • 한강하구에서 천연기념물 개리와 재두루미 등의 주요 먹이원인 수생식물 새섬매자기(Scirpus planiculmis)의 개체군 감소의 원인을 분석하고자, 1) 주변 경쟁 초본과의 개체군 생태학적 특성을 분석하고, 2)토양이 퇴적이 되어 토심이 깊은 곳에서 자라는 집단과 그렇지 않는 곳에서 자란 것 간의 활력도를 비교하고, 3)실내조건에서 새섬매자기를 양묘하여 괴경의 분포를 관찰하고, 4) 이를 근거로 새섬매자기 서식지복원의 방안을 제시하였다. 그 결과 새섬매자기는 한강하구습지에서 경쟁관계에 있는 수생식물인 갈대나 줄 등에 비하여 지상부 물질생산량과 지하부 물질생산량이 낮고, 키도 작고, 번식력도 낮았다. 또한 습지에 퇴적되는 곳의 새섬매자기 개체군은 퇴적되지 않는 곳에서 자라는 집단보다 땅속덩이줄기생산량, 지하부생산량, 지상부생산량, 종자생산량이 훨씬 감소되었고, 키도 작았다. 이상적인 조건에서 새섬매자기의 괴경은 얕은 토심(15cm 이내)에 주로 분포하였다. 이러한 결과는 한강하구에서 새섬매자기가 다른 수생식물보다 경쟁력이 약하고, 한강하구에서 괴경이 깊은 흙에서 출현하는 것이나 개체군 쇠퇴의 원인이 토양의 퇴적임을 의미한다. 따라서 새섬매자기 개체군 유지와 보전을 위해서는 퇴적이 되지 않도록 한강하구 습지 내 물이 흐르도록 물길을 조성하고, 경쟁종을 제거하여야 할 것으로 판단된다.

계절에 따른 습지 내 저서성대형무척추동물 모니터링을 통한 지하수의존생태계 특성 평가 (Seasonal Assessment of Groundwater-Dependent Ecosystem Using Monitoring of Benthic Macroinvertebrates in Wetland)

  • Wetlands are one of the most representative groundwater dependent ecosystems(GDEs) that require access to groundwater on a permanent or intermittent basis to maintain their biological communities and ecological processes. In this study, the seasonal characteristics of the GDEs in Baekseok Reservoir Wetland were evaluated through the monitoring of the temporal and spatial community of benthic macroinvertebrates in the wetland. The appearance of benthic macroinvertebrates appearance was changed seasonally depending on environmental factors such temperature, precipitation and water level for their habitat and it also showed the clear spatial difference in the wetland. The scores of Diversity index(H'), Richness Index (R1) and the Ecological score of benthic macroinvertebrates (TESB/AESB) were relatively high at St.3 and 4(i.e., north area) where groundwater inflows into wetland(i.e., high 222Rn conc.). The statistical analysis (ANOVA test and PCA) investigated the correlation among the benthic macroinvertebrates' community, groundwater level, wetland water level and water quality. The results showed that the community of benthic macroinvertebrates at St. 3 and 4 in Baekseok Reservoir Wetlands was spatially dependent on groundwater level and groundwater inflow. The characterization and assessment of GDEs requires understanding the hydrological, biogeochemical and biological process and this study will provide information for characterization and assessment of GDEs.

오대산 물이끼 이탄습지의 생태특성: I. 소황병산늪 (Ecological Characteristics of Sphagnum fens in Mt. Odae : I. Sowhangbyungsan-neup)

  • 람사르 습지로 지정된 오대산 습지 중 소황병산늪의 보존가치를 찾기 위해 생태특성을 조사하였다. 소황병산늪의 퇴적토 깊이는 최대 86cm이었으며 중간부에서 평균 53cm로 나타났다. 물의 pH는 평균 5.8로 산성이 탄습지와 이탄습지의 중간정도를 나타내었다. 전기전도도는 $11{\mu}S$/cm로 우리나라 습지 중 가장 낮게 나타났으며, 양이온, 질산, 암모니아, 인산 분석 결과 수질은 매우 양호하였다. 유출수량은 3일간 누적 강수량과 양의 상관관계를 보였으며 연중 지속적으로 물이 유출되었다. 주변토양은 사양토로 토양 양분은 매우 적었으며, 산성도는 높았다. 유관속 식물은 45과 95속 121종, 2아종, 16변종, 4품종으로 총 121종류로 조사되었으며, 하부의 물이끼를 바탕으로 삿갓사초, 꿩고비, 산사초 군락이 넓게 분포하였다. 조사결과 소황병산늪은 우리나라에서 가장 온전한 이탄습지로 그 보존 가치가 뛰어나며, 수질, 토양 분석 결과 빈영양상태를 나타내고 위협요인 또한 거의 없으므로 이탄습지가 지속적으로 발달할 수 있을 것으로 예상된다.

전곡 용암대지 물거미 서식지의 지형특성과 식생 분포 (Distribution of Vegetation and Geomorphology Characteristics of the Water Spider(Argyroneta aquatica) Habitat in the Jeongok Lava Plateau, Central Korea)

  • The formation of the lava dam of the paleo lake blocked the entrance to the Chatancheon River on the Jeongok lava plateau and it suddenly transformed the terrestrial ecosystem into the aquatic one by the overflow. The spiders in the lava dam adapted in the wetland and evolved into water spiders that could survive by forming bubble houses. Since then, the lava dam was connected to the present Hantangang River due to the dissection and the lake became a terrestrial environment, a small area of marsh composed of primarily clay soil layer. Change in water level of the habitat and thus the extension of the terrestrial area made the species a endangered now. This study carried out frequency of occurrence, degree of wetness and plant habitats of the vascular plant in the water spider habitat. As a result of this study, total 180taxa are of 55 (30.6%) wetland plant groups and of 113 (62.8%) upland plant groups except facultative plant groups. Among the wetland plant groups, the Isachne globosa community occupied the largest area, where the water spiders were most observed. The result of this study, the classification and the types of vascular plant species, would provide useful information for the sustaining healthy wetland ecosystem and the restoration of the habitat for the water spiders.

하수종말처리장 방류수와 비점오염원 처리를 위한 주암호 인공습지 2년 운영 사례 (Case Study: Operation of the Juam Constructed Wetland for Effluent from a Sewage Treatment Plant and Diffuse Pollution for Two Years)

  • In order to improve water quality of the Juam Lake, a constructed wetland was implemented and operated for 2 years with the effluent of sewage treatment plant and diffuse pollutant discharged from agricultural area. During the summer season, average removal efficiencies for BOD and SS were 15.8% and 39.4%, respectively. Due to the mixed effect of vegetation, soil microbes and sediments, the higher nutrient removal efficiencies were obtained: average T-N and T-P removal efficiencies were 64.2% and 71.7%, respectively. The concentration of sediment was increased initially, and maintained constant throughout monitoring period. The highest nitrogen and phosphorus uptake were observed in Phragmites japonica. The nitrogen uptake was estimated as 0.235 DW mg/g while phosphorus uptake was estimated as 2.059 DW mg/g.

신안군 장도 산지습지 식생과 토양특성 (Vegetation and Soil Properties of a Forest Wetland in Jangdo, Sinan-Gun)

  • 신안군 장도 산지습지의 식생과 토양 및 ordination을 분석하였다. 장도 산지습지에서 특기할만한 식물은 바늘꽃, 개쉽사리이고, 한국 특산식물로는 흑산도 비비추와 소사나무 2종이며, 관속식물은 40과 62속 57종 9변종 1품종 총 67분류군이다. 식생군락은 버드나무-기장대풀군락, 기장대풀군락, 억새군락이다. 토양 분석 결과, 유기물함량 20.6-72.4%, 전질소함량 0.74-2.13%,유효인산함량 33.3-114.6ppm, 양이온치환용량(CEC) 25.5-94.3이고, 토양pH는 5.10-5.42이며, 토성은 주로 식양토로 나타났다. 군락의 분포와 환경 인자들과의 상관을 보면, pH가 군락의 분포에 영향을 미치고 있음을 알 수 있으며, 버드나무-기장대풀군락은 3군락 중 pH가 가장 높으며, 전질소, 유기물함량, 양이 온치환용량, 치환성 Na, Ca, Mg등의 양료가 가장 많은 입지에 분포하고 있으며, 억새군락은 버드나무-기장대풀군락과는 반대로 3군락 중 pH가 가장 낮으며, 전질소, 유기물함량, 양이온치환용량, 치환성 Na, Ca, Mg등의 양료가 가장 적은 입지에 분포하고 있다.

비점원오염 제어를 위한 인공습지의 초기단계 연구 (Early Stage Performance of Constructed Wetland System for Nonpoint Source Pollution Control)

  • 최근 우리나라에서는 유역단위로 배출되는 오염원의 40% 이상을 차지하고 있는 비점오염원의 제어가 중요해졌다. 유역의 비점오염원제어를 위해 전세계적으로 인공습지가 많이 이용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 비점오염원 제어를 위한 현장실험을 2002년 6월부터 2004년 6월까지 실시하였다. 인공습지와 유수지가 하나의 시설로써 각각 4개씩 조성되어있으며, 면적은 0.88 ha이다. 습지의 식생은 식재를 하지 않고, 자연적 활착을 유도하였으며, 3번의 생장기를 거친 2004년도 식생조사 결과 각 습지별로 평균 약 90% 정도의 식생피도를 나타내었다. $BOD_5$, TSS, TN, TP의 평균 제거율은 각각 5.6%, 46.6%, 45.7%, 54.8%로 나타났다. $BOD_5$의 제거율은 낮게 나타났는데, 이는 유입수의 농도가 낮기 때문에 제거효율이 낮게 나타난 것으로 판단된다. 유수지-습지의 배치가 습지-유수지 배치보다 전체적으로 더 좋은 수질을 나타내었다. 일차반응모형 (First-order analysis)결과 TP는 온도에 많은 영향을 받지 않으며, $BOD_5$와 TSS는 TN보다는 온도에 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과 인공습지는 유역에서 유입되는 비점오염원의 처리시설로 효과적인 것으로 생각된다.

인공습지를 이용한 축산폐수의 처리 (Livestock Wastewater Treatment by a Constructed Wetland)

  • Constructed wetlands are considered as an important tool for wastewater treatment, wastewater management and flooding control. In addition, one of the most promising technologies for application in many countries seems to be constructed wetlands, due to their properties such as utilization of natural processes, simple construction, operation and maintenance, process stability, cost effectiveness, etc. This study considered possibility of treatment of livestock wastewater using a constructed wetland. The removal efficiencies of $COD_{cr}$, TOC, TN, TP, SS, and color were 97.6%, 96.6%, 97.0%, 96.7%, 99.0%, and 85.6%, respectively. In particular, SS was completely removed. However, $Cl^{-}$ concentration of the constructed wetland effluent was higher than that in influent. In conclusion, constructed wetlands could be applied to livestock wastewater treatment if $Cl^{-}$ would be properly treated. Further, it needs time for stabilization to reduce the pollutants which were accumulated in soil.

신불산 고산습지의 저서성 대형무척추동물 군집구조의 특성 (A Characteristic on Community Structure of Benthic Macroinvertebrates of the Shinbulsan Wetland)

  • The distribution of benthic macroinvertebrates of Shinbulsan wetland was investigated. This study was focused on the degree of recovery of habitat by comparing the community structure of benthic macro invertebrates of zone D to that of zone A, intact habitat. The zone D was destructed due to the construction of a golf club and the survey was performed in zone A and zone D of Shinbulsan wetland. The seasonal survey was performed in April, July and September from 2006 to 2007. From the sampling, 2 phyla, 3 classes, 9 orders, 31 families, 69 species and 1155 individuals of benthic macroinvertebrates were collected. From zone A, 2 phyla, 3 classes, 9 orders, 23 families, 54 species and 678 individuals were identified. From zone D, 2 phyla, 3 classes, 9 orders, 23 families, 43 species and 477 individuals were identified. Species diversity and species richness were higher in zone A than in zone D. The recovery of zone D was inefficient as humidity of soil was not enough to live macroinvertebrates. Also, an endangered species of macroinvertebrates, Nannophya pygmaea was found during this investigation.
