  • This study is aimed to better understand the lifestyle and fashion trend of Korea in 1954 and 1955, a period right after the Korean War. The study examined "The Journey of Duty", which was a color slide film of Seoul and Suwon made by a US soldier stationed in Korea during that time, as well as various documents. The films are assumed to be outcomes of the US Army wanting to record the situation in Korea, and the study was able to use 110 of the slides to examine the fashion trend of the times. There are three noticeable trends shown on "The Journey of duty". Koreans in western clothes, women wearing work pants called Momppae, and black color being in fashion. Most of the men and the children either wore only western clothes or western clothes with the Hanbok. But women rarely wore western-style clothing, such as blouse with skirt. They usually wore Hanbok or wore reformed Hanbok. The work pants, Momppae, becoming an everyday wear is the most unique finding from the slides. Women either wore just the pants or over the traditional Korean skirt. Black-colored clothes were in fashion. This color first spread after the Costume Reform Movement in the 1920s' and the prohibition of white robe. The wearing of white clothes did increase after the Korean liberation in 1945, as national spirit was promoted. However, many people still wore black due to economic reasons, as we as practical reasons. So the Korean fashion in 1954-1955 was in a transition period, as people were beginning to change their daily wears from traditional Korean costumes to western-styled clothes. The reasons for this change could be attributed to people only having access to western goods, as well as their awareness of western-styled clothes being more practical.

  • In apartment complexes of Korea shared space becomes more and more important since it promotes social relationship among neighbors and also as a ecological point of view. After the Green Building system was introduced in the society, it attracted more attentive as an essential component for sustainable community. Now, it's expected the shared space plan or the community center plan will be a hot issue in the society. Therefore, we could see an aspect of the gradual change related to housing culture in Korea and make a prediction how to develop the shared space as researching domestic leading studies about the 'shared space'. The purpose of this study is to identify the trend of academic achievement as shared spaces. 14 books and 43 studies are searched and each of them are divided into according to the subject. The concept of the shared space was introduced in a holistic moment and the design plans were presented in books in the early 1990's, and total community center it was introduced. The studies are naturally divided into 4 parts as time passed that are characteristics of the block planning in the complex, the needs of the shared space, the actual condition of the using shared space, and the case studies of the shared space. The shared spaces under the structure of the community center are expected to be developed in a more elaborate way to cope with increasingly well-being needs.

  • As functional requirement of massive digital information storage devices are on a trend for the higher data transfer rate and lower cost, many different technical efforts are being tested and implemented in the industry. FDB(Fluid Dynamic Soaring) is one of the major breakthroughs in rotor design in terms of TMR budget. Although FDB analysis based on Reynolds' equation is well established and popularly being used for DB design especially for the estimation of bearing stiffness, there are obvious limitations in the approach due to the inherent assumptions. A generalized analysis tool employing the full Navier-Stokes equation and the energy balance is to be beneficial for detailed FDB design In this publication, an efficient geometry modeling method is presented that provides fully integrated inputs for general FVM/FDM codes. By virtue of the flexibility of the presented method, many different detailed FDB design and analysis are carried over with ease.

  • Recent studies have indicated that mobile markets harbor applications (apps) that are either malicious or vulnerable, compromising millions of devices. Some studies indicate that 96% of companies' employees have used at least one malicious app. Some app stores do not employ security quality attributes regarding authorization, which is the function of specifying access rights to access control resources. However, well-defined access control policies can prevent mobile apps from being malicious. The problem is that those who oversee app market sites lack the mechanisms necessary to assess mobile app security. Because thousands of apps are constantly being added to or updated on mobile app market sites, these security testing mechanisms must be automated. This paper, therefore, introduces a new mechanism for testing mobile app security, using white-box testing in a way that is compatible with Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) working environments. This framework will benefit end-users, organizations that oversee app markets, and employers who implement the BYOD trend.

  • Recently, as people are interested in the quality of life and well-being trend, the consumer's demand on a healthy residence is rapidly increasing. To offer heathy residential environment to consumers, it is necessary to investigate the quality of design regardings health. The purposes of this study are to arrange the elements of interior design for the healthy apartment and to present the essential points of design to make a proposal for the newly built healthy apartment. It is believed that the accumulated data will be the basic information to develop more healthy apartment in the future. Questionnaire was delivered and analyzed. Also, checklist were checked by visiting model house. Through the comparison and analysis between consumer's demand and the condition of the model house, this research suggests what the healthy apartment should be replenish. The result of this study are as following. In spite of the demand of improvement on sanitation, health diagnosis program, thermal comfort, sound comfort were high but the evaluation of the present apartments shows not that high. Consumer's demands like above are reflected on latest apartments but those are not reached enough to the consumer's demand.

  • One of the sustainable development goals is to promote good health and well-being for all people. Child health is a top priority since their health issues can have a detrimental impact on human capital development, which is a critical input for the growth model. This paper applies the health production model to explore the determinants that influence the health of children under the age of five. The results of a survey of 203 households in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, were examined. Child health is measured using anthropometric indicators such as weight-for-age, height-for-age, and weight-for-height (ZWFH). Three separate multinomial logistic models are regressed to examine the drivers of child health as proxied by z-score weight for age, z-score height for age, and z-score weight for height. The significance of input variables relating to a child's attributes, household, and environment was validated by the findings. The inclusion of overweight besides under-nourished indexes is novel because it reflects the current trend of child over-nutrition. The findings of the study highlight the importance of a wide range of initiatives to enhance child health. Moreover, the genetic effect is found to be crowded out by environmental and household factors. The finding verifies that despite their parents' moderate height, the future generation of Vietnamese can achieve the desired height.

  • As the COVID-19 crisis continues, working environments and lifestyles have been changed unexpectedly, therefore the importance of mental health in the working environments has been highlighted. When the workers' mental health deteriorates, there will be personal losses but also human resources losses caused productivity decrements of the company or the organization. Many researchers have been tried to solve these issues with the help of ICT technologies such as wearable devices. Most wearable healthcare devices have been designed to detect the physiological status of users and collect the physical activities of users, and their applications are gradually expanding. Those devices may be good candidates to prevent loss of human resources from working environments especially under the COVID-19 situation by continuously monitoring mental health status in connection with mobile devices and managing the mental health on their own by combining mental well-being with support solutions. In this paper, the development trend of mental health measurement and mental well-being support technologies is analyzed, and development prospects are examined.

  • According to the intercombined review of chemical and biological investigation it has been noted that the metabolizable energy per gram dietary protein of mixed diet of daily intake patterned by Korean population has been found 3.4-3.6 Cal., which entails 10-12% level of the protein calorie percentage of total metabolizable energy, the biological value being fallen within the scope 63-73. The structure of dietary protein has revealed that the lysine and isoleucine were primary limiting amino acids and threonine secondary limiting as a general trend, however, it is assumed that the ultimate nutritional effect of dietary protein might be restricted uniformly among regions by the amount of lysine, since the lysine availability has been yielded as low as 72-82% level. As for the net protein utillization NPUst falls in the range of 52-62 and the NPUop 47-58. In either part the mountainous region has demonstrated lowest value and the urban area highest, these trend being obviously associated with the ratio of animal protein relative to the vegetable origin. The net dietary protein calorie percentage (NDpCal %) has been found within the range of 5-7 that may be capable of meeting the requirement for the maintenance of adult, though for the growth it is insufficient. Present level of total caloric intake would not influence on the fate of protein value of prevailing regional diet in terms of caloric restriction, since the present intake of food energy is higher than the lower limit of caloric intake that would impair the biological performance of dietary protein fed ad libitum basis. Based on the protein efficiency, the adequacy of current level of protein intake was analyzed in terms of utilizable protein, and it has been demonstrated that the 37.8g of utilizable protein in the fishery region and 38.2g in the mountainous region were bellow the FAO recommendation. Accordin to the hematological study it may be interpreted that the anemic symptoms of the mountainous region has some possibility of being related to the inferior status of dietary protein in quality as well as in quantity.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze research trends on subjective well-being in the elderly. To this end, 49 academic papers (general characteristics, research subjects, number of researchers, research variables, and research methods) retrieved through RISS were classified according to criteria. One or two research papers have been steadily published starting with two in 1988, but a slight increase in 2009 and 2010, four each, and five in 2014, respectively. By sample size, 201 to 300 were the most frequent with 14 studies. Quantitative studies were the most common as a research method, but 2 qualitative studies and 2 longitudinal studies were identified through trend analysis. It was confirmed that there are many variables related to physical health such as leisure sports, physical activity, sports for all, dance sports, and mobility discomfort as research topics. The number of studies on the elderly should be increased, and the need for qualitative research to explore the life experiences and meanings of old age is suggested.
