혁신제품 확산과정에 대한 저유량 모형 개발: 친환경 자동차를 대상으로 (Development of a Stock Flow Model on Diffusion Process of Innovative Goods: the Green Car Diffusion Case)

  • As global competition for green car, that is environmentally friendly car, is getting tougher, the governments and the related industries are putting their core efforts in its diffusion. However, the green car sales are disappointing so far. To overcome the gridlock, it is necessary to develop concrete analytical framework to understand the diffusion process. Based on causal loop analysis from the previous work, we have identified main variables and relationships of them in the diffusion process and developed a stock-flow diagram and mathematical formula for the main components. The model would be applied for further quantitative simulation on the diffusion process of green car and other innovative goods as well. Also, we have suggested constructive insights for the policy makers and for the related industries. First, it is important to increase consumers' willingness to consider through marketing and word of mouth to accelerate the diffusion process. Second, in the perspective of the industry, the market share of green car should be increased at the earliest possible stage and this could be done by enhancing each components of green car attractiveness(e.g. price, driving range, social infra). Third, companies should develop a balanced investment between consumer and technology sector through a flexible financial policy. Fourth, the government continuously has the role of investing in the related R&D and social infra building. We expect the green car diffusion model and related formula from the research can provide meaningful tools to analyze the diffusion process of other new and innovative goods based on its deep researched literature review.

용해, 확산, 분출의 정의와 교과서 서술에 대한 재고찰 (Revisiting the Definitions and the Textbook Descriptions of Dissolution, Diffusion and Effusion)

  • 선행연구에 의하면 많은 중 고등학교 학생들과 교사들이 용해와 확산, 확산과 분출을 잘 구분하지 못한다고 하므로 본 연구에서는 이 용어들의 정의로부터 각 개념들을 서로 구분하는 것이 가능한지 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 현재 과학자들이 합의하고 있는 것으로 생각되는 용어의 정의를 IUPAC의 Gold Book과 대학 물리화학 교재로부터 조사하여 비교하였다. 그리고 현행 중 고등학교 교과서 및 대학 일반화학 교재에 서술된 정의를 조사하여 학생들과 교사들이 혼란을 느낄 수 있는 문제점을 파악하고 그 개선점을 알아보고자 하였다. 그 결과 용해는 두 상이 혼합되어 하나의 상이 되는 것임에 비해 확산은 농도 차를 없애는 방향으로 물질이 이동하는 것이므로 서로 구분 가능하다고 생각된다. 그러나 중.고등학교 교과서와 대학 일반화학 교재에서도 대부분 확산을 농도 차에 의한 것으로 명확하게 서술하지 않았는데 이 1022 박종윤를 강조해서 서술할 필요가 있다. 분출은 용기 벽면의 아주 작은 구멍을 통해 기체 입자가 충돌 없이 빠져나가는 것이므로 기체 확산과 분명히 구분되지만 고등학교 교과서에서 분출의 정의를 제시한 교과서는 거의 없었다.

Pseudoglandular Formation in Hepatocellular Carcinoma Determines Apparent Diffusion Coefficient in Diffusion-Weighted MRI

  • Purpose: To determine the impact of pseudoglandular formation on apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI), and to validate the results using histopathological grades. Materials and Methods: We assessed 182 HCCs surgically resected from 169 consecutive patients. Each type of tumor pseudoglandular formation was categorized into "non-," "mixed-," or "pure-," based on official histopathology reports. The ADC for each tumor was independently measured, using the largest region of interest on the ADC map. Data were assessed using the analysis of variance test, with Bonferroni correction for post hoc analysis to stratify the relationship of ADCs with pseudoglandular formation, followed by subgroup analysis according to the histopathological tumor grades. Results: The mean ADC was significantly higher in pure pseudoglandular lesions (n = 5, $1.29{\pm}0.08{\times}10^{-3}mm^2/s$) than in non-pseudoglandular lesions (n = 132, $1.08{\pm}0.17{\times}10^{-3}mm^2/s$; P = 0.003) or mixed-pseudoglandular lesions (n = 45, $1.16{\pm}0.24{\times}10^{-3}mm^2/s$; P = 0.034). The ADC values and pseudoglandular formation were significantly correlated in moderately differentiated HCCs (n = 103; r = 0.307, P = 0.007), while well- (n = 19) and poorly-differentiated HCCs (n = 60) did not show significant correlation (r = 0.105 and 0.068, respectively; P = 0.600 and 0.685, respectively). Conclusion: The degree of pseudoglandular formation could be one of the determinants of ADC in DWI of HCCs-especially moderately differentiated HCCs-while its influence does not appear to be significant in well- or poorly differentiated HCCs.

  • Animal cells show different behaviors in response to the mechanical properties of the substrates. We hypothesize that the rigidity of the substrates also affects the bacterial motility and controls the colony dynamics. It is found that the colony size of Escherichia colis and Bacillus subtilis grown on the agar plates is correlated with agarose gel concentrations and thus with the substrate rigidity. High- resolution microscopic imaging reveals that bacteria in single colonies form different aggregation patterns on the agar plates with varying gel concentration. We measured the apparent diffusion coefficients in the agarose gel plates made with different gel concentrations. Mathematical modeling and quantitative imaging of dye dispersion in the agar plates suggest that there is a close connection between the diffusion rate and the colony size. Nanoscale pore structures and kinetic constraints in the porous media may have an effect on bacterial colony dynamics.

우리나라 자가용 승용차의 공간적 확산과정 (Spatial Diffusion Process of Private Passenger Cars in Korea)

  • 1985-1997년 사이에 자가용 승용차는 소득수준이 높고 서비스업이 발달한 서울.부산.대수시 등 대도시등 서울시의 위성도시에서 보급이 먼저 이루어지고 점차 공업도시와 지상 중심도시로 확산하는 한편, 대도시에서의 보급률 증가는 둔화되었다. 이와 같은 현상은 1985년과 1991년 모두 금융, 보험, 부동산 및 사업 서비스업 종사율이 가장 크게 영향을 주었다 1997년에는 농업, 수렵업, 임업 및 어업 종사율이 새롭게 가장 큰 영향력을 미쳤다. 자가용 승용차 보급의 시.공간적 분포패턴은 1991년을 기준으로, 1985-1990년은 서울시나 그 위성도시 및 지방 중심도시에서 보급률이 높았고 보급률의 지역간 격차가 켰던 시기이며, 1991-1997년은 지역적 보급이 평준화되면서 수도권지역 및 지방 주요 도시에 보급률이 높았던 시기이다. 자가용 보급 지역 유형의 결정에 영향을 미친 중요한 요인은 대도시에서는 서비스업 종사율과 소득이, 군 지역에서의 서울시로부터의 거리와 인구규모이다.

엔진 블리스크 제조를 위한 초내열합금 이종재의 HIP Diffusion Bonding (HIP Diffusion Bonding of Two Types of Superalloys for Engine Blisk Applications)

  • HIP diffusion bonding of Ni-based superalloys, cast Mar-M247 (MM247) and Udimet 720 (U720) powder, was experimentally and numerically studied. Subsolvus HIP treatment was optimized by investigating the variations of high temperature tensile properties of HIP-bonded specimens with powder size, HIP'ing time, etc. While the tensile strength at high temperatures showed no detectable changes, the tensile elongation and reduction in area were slightly increased as the powder size decreased from -140 mesh to -270 mesh. While as-HIP'ed U720 showed a high tensile strength comparable to that of lorded U720 alloy, the HIP diffusion-bonded specimen showed a strength lower than the forged U720 alloy and the cast MM247 alloy The increase of HIP'ing tune from 2 hours to 3 hours resulted in a rapid risc of tensile strength and elongation due to the disappearence of microvoids in the cast MM247. FEM simulation for HIP process was conducted by applying the McMeeking micromechanical model, which uses power-law creep model as constitutive equations. ABAQUS user subroutine CREEP with an implemented microscopic model was used for the simulation. Numerical simulation was shown to be essential for the near-net shape manufacturing as well as the HIP process optimization.

Modeling of chloride diffusion in a hydrating concrete incorporating silica fume

  • Silica fume has long been used as a mineral admixture to improve the durability and produce high strength and high performance concrete. And in marine and coastal environments, penetration of chloride ions is one of the main mechanisms causing concrete reinforcement corrosion. In this paper, we proposed a numerical procedure to predict the chloride diffusion in a hydrating silica fume blended concrete. This numerical procedure includes two parts: a hydration model and a chloride diffusion model. The hydration model starts with mix proportions of silica fume blended concrete and considers Portland cement hydration and silica fume reaction respectively. By using the hydration model, the evolution of properties of silica fume blended concrete is predicted as a function of curing age and these properties are adopted as input parameters for the chloride penetration model. Furthermore, based on the modeling of physicochemical processes of diffusion of chloride ion into concrete, the chloride distribution in silica fume blended concrete is evaluated. The prediction results agree well with experiment results of chloride ion concentrations in the hydrating concrete incorporating silica fume.

  • The pressure tubes, which contain high temperature heavy water and fuel, are within the core of a CANDU nuclear reactor, and are thus subjected to high stresses, temperature gradient, and neutron flux. Further, it is well known that pressure tubes of cold-worked Zr-2.5Nb materials result in hydrogen diffusion, which create fully-hydrided regions (frequently called Blister). Thus a proper investigation of hydrogen diffusion within zirconium-alloy nuclear components, such as CANDU pressure tube and fuel channels is essential to predict the structural integrity of these components. In this respect, this paper presents numerical investigation of hydrogen diffusion to quantify the hydrogen concentration for blister growth of CANDU pressure tube. For this purpose, coupled temperature-hydrogen diffusion analyses are performed by means of two-dimensional finite element analysis. Comparison of predicted temperature field and blister with published test data shows good agreement.

  • The effect of anode gas channel height on gas diffusion and cell performance in a 100 $cm^2$ class molten carbonate single cell is investigated. Single cell separators with three different channel height are used. The effect of the gas channel height on the distribution of the reactive gas concentration is evaluated by the two-dimensional concentration diffusion equation. The overpotential caused by concentration drop with different channel height is estimated by the voltage decay related to diffusion of reactants, well known as concentration polarization, using limiting current density. The estimation could have the possibility to identify the reactant mass transfer polarization in the complicate factors of the overall electrodes.

화염온도 제어법을 이용한 확산화염의 소화 및 점화특성 검토 (An Investigation of the Extinction and Ignition Characteristics Using a Flame-Controlling Method)

  • Extinction and ignition characteristics of $CH_4$-air counterflow diffusion flame were numerically investigated using a Flame-Controlling Method(FCM). A skeletal reaction mechanism, which adopts 17 species and 58 reactions, was used in the simulation. The extinction and ignition conditions of the $CH_4$-air diffusion flames were investigated with varying the global strain rate. Upper and middle branches of S-curve for the peak temperature in the inverse of the global strain rate space were obtained with the FCM. The structures of diffusion flames in the upper and middle branches of S-curve were compared. It was found that the global strain rate was not correlated with the local strain rate well in the low global strain rate region. It is expected that the FCM is very useful to obtaining the extinction and ignition condition of diffusion flame, such as fires.
