The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a physical activity program on body composition, depression and risk factors of dementia in elderly women. Subjects were 40 women aged 65~75 years, classified into two groups (experiment group 20, control group 20). The factors measured in this study were body composition (weight, percent body fat, body mass index, body fluid), depression (BDI score) and risk factors of dementia (K-MMSE, LDL-C, HDL-C, insulin, ${\beta}$-amyloid, DHEAs) at 12 and 24 weeks before and after the program. Subjects of experiment group participated in a 24 week physical activity program (45~60 min, 3~4 day per weeks). Data were analyzed by repeated ANOVA method of SPSS, with accepting levels for all significances above ${\alpha}$=0.05. The results of this study were as follows. In body composition, the experiment group showed significant differences in the weight, percent body fat and body mass index compared to the control group. In depression score, the experiment group showed no significant differences regarding BDI score level compared to the control group. In risk factors for dementia, the experiment group showed significant differences in levels of K-MMSE, LDL-C, HDL-C, insulin, ${\beta}$-amyloid, and DHEAs compared to the control group. This study showed that a 24 week physical activity program had positive effects on almost all of the factors evaluated in elderly women, and that elderly women who did not participate in the program experiences no such positive effects. Therefore, regular participation in a physical activity program could be advocated as one strategy to enhance body fat, depression, and risk factors of dementia and may result in improving risk for diseases of age in elderly women.

It is obvious that adequate nutrition is essential for growth and development of school children, and many elementary schools in this country have already practiced it. Therefore, it would seem apparent that the school feeding program would have a significant effect on the growth and development of school children. This paper presents a two-year experimental school-feeding program from 1973 to 1974, and attempts to evaluate its effects by before-and-after nutrition surveys conducted in two elementary schools, one experimental and the other as a control. The two schools are both located in the same county (Yongin-Kun, Kyunggi-Do), and the families of their students are presumed to share the same socio-economic level. To assess the effect of school-feeding, we measured height, weight, chest circumference and grasping power. Physical examination was done foresigns of nutritional deficiency. A stool examination for parasites and blood examinations for hemoglobin, hematocrit and serum protein were included. Analyses were done for 150 students selected randomly at the beginning of the program. These students attended the school throughout the program period. Results are as follows: 1. The amount of increase of height, weight, chest cirumference and grasping power were greater in the experimental school than in the control school, but the differences are not statistically significant. 2. Signs of vitamin deficiency decreased in both experimental and control schools during the two-year program period. 3. At the time of the 1974 post-survey, values of Hb. & Hct. revealed no significant differences between the two schools, but serum protein level was a little higher than that of general Korean rural children of the same age. 4. Infestation rate of parasites had increased in both schools during the two-year program period. 5. Each student of the two schools was classified into three major classes, according to the level of economic condition of his or her parents, namely higher, middle and lower. The results of each class of the experimental school was compared with that of the corresponding class of the control school, expecting the relative magnitude of change largest in the lower economic class of the experimental school. However, change was greatest in the middle class, still not being statistically significant. Finally, the authors concluded that the two-year period for such a program is not sufficiently long for its beneficial effects to be demonstrated and measured. As long as the growth and development of children are concerned, planning with a more distant perspective is required, as well as the development of new methods of evaluation.
This study was carried out to investigate effects of nutrition education on diet program S-28 for a per-iod of 5 months. The participants in this diet program were 40 Chungkang college female students with over 30% body fat. During the first 2 weeks they were provided 800kcal a day and 1,200kcal a day for the lat 2 weeks. Since then weight maintenance program was continued. Exercise and nutrition e여-cation program for nutrition knowledge attitude and food habit were conducted during the entire test period, Results during the test period were as follows : 1) Weight loww was statistically significant from 69.5$\pm$4.9kg at the beginning to65.6$\pm$3.0kg(P<0.01) in 3 months to 63.2$\pm$3.5kg(P<0.01) in the 5th month. 2) Obesity rate was significantly decreased from 23.9$\pm$12.1% to 21.3$\pm$9.2%(P<0.05) in 3 mon-ths to 19.7$\pm$8.5% in the 5th month. 3) BMI was significantly declined from 27.3$\pm$1.5kg/m2 to 26.1$\pm$1. 2kg/m2(P<0.01) in 3 months to 25.7$\pm$0.9kg/m2(P<0.05) in 3 months to 28.2$\pm$1.8%(p<0.05) in the 5th month. 5) The mean scores of food habit were 33.4$\pm$4.5 at the beginning 35.2$\pm$3.7 in 3 mon-손 37.4$\pm$4.0 in the 5th month and each of nutrition attitude was 53.8$\pm$5.3, 58.0$\pm$6.2. There-fore these data showed that effects of nutrition education on diet program S-28 were feflected remark-ably not only in the antropmetric measurements but also in the mean scores of food habit and nu-trition attitude.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the Health Promotion Life Profile of normal-weight and obese children, and factors related to obesity in elementary school children, and provide basic data for the development an obesity management program for these children. Method: The survey participants were 878 fourth to sixth grade elementary school children in Gwangju. $x^2$-test, t-test, ANOVA and multiple logistic regression with the SPSS program were used to analyze the collected data. Results: The Health Promotion Life Profile showed significant differences between normal-weight and obese groups according to food habits (t=3.305, p= .001) and exercise habits (t=-4.065, p=< .001). The Health Promotion Life Profile of obese children was also significantly different according to interest in weight control (F=3.044, p= .050), regular breakfast (F=3.699, p= .014), regular meals (F=6.868, p= .002). The multiple logistic regression analysis, showed that factors in obesity were significantly different according to gender, interest in weight control, fast eating, overeating and predilection for some food. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that items on Health Promotion Life Profile such as food habits and exercise habits should be included in education programs to prevent obesity in elementary school children.

This study was to investigate of body perception, attitude on weight-control and self-esteem according to the weight group of high school students. Using the questionnaires taken by 777 first grade students in six high schools in Daegu, this study was conducted from August 20th to September 10th in 2007. Statistical data analysis were completed using the SPSS 12.0 program. The results of this study were as follows : First, girls are more interested in weight-control than boys, especially about obesity. As a result, they try to control their weight to lose weight in high school days with the right perception of weight. They also have good knowledge about weight-control and cut down the food intake. We need to study more about the reason why the self-esteem of girls' obesity group is high. Second, most of the boys controled weight for their health and they did exercise to lose weight and they are more satisfied with the result of weight-control and self-esteem than girls. About the body type, boys got affected by friends, and girls by TV. In boys' case, as the BMI is low and the difference between their present weight and ideal weight is small, they are more satisfied with the result of weight-control and prefer physical activities. In girls' case, as the BMI is low and their satisfaction with the weight-control result is high, they have good eating habit and high self-esteem. Third, compared with the weight group and their self-esteem, in boys' case, low-weight boys are high when they do physical activities more than 20 minutes, whereas when the normal-weights and over-weights are satisfied with their weight-control result, and the obese have good eating habit, it is high. In girls' case, the self-esteem is high when the normal-weights are satisfied with their weight-control result and over-weights prefer physical activities and the obese are interested in weight-control. Especially, the obese girls group show high self-esteem when they have interest in weight-control.
This study was attempted to evaluate how the self efficacy promotion and exercise training program effect on the postoperative general conditions of transplant recipients after kidney transplantations. The subjects were selected randomly among the patients who underwent renal trans- plantations at three major transplantation hospitals in Seoul, Korea. This study was carried out between November 1999 and March 2000. The observed subjects in this study consisted of 56 patients. The exercise training group(n=16) received the self efficacy promotion and exercise training program for 12 weeks which contained general knowledge for compliance instruction, exercise training and self efficacy promotion education. The self efficacy group(n=18) received general knowledge for compliance instruction and self efficacy promotion education but no exercise training was given. The control group(n=22) were not offered any education. The knowledge for compliance, self efficacy, physical conditions(weight, muscle strength, muscle endurance, flexibility), lab studies (hemoglobin, creatinine, cholesterol), activities of daily living and quality of life were evaluated 3 times, before the experiment, at 8 weeks and at 12 weeks. The data were analyzed with mean, standard deviation, Chi-square test, ANOVA and Scheff test. The results were as follows: 1. The knowledge and self efficacy score of the exercise training group and self efficacy group were significantly increased than those of the control group(p=.0001). 2. The weight of the exercise training group was significantly decreased compared to those of the self efficacy group and the control group(p=.0001). Muscle strength (grip strength, back lift strength), and flexibility of all 3 groups were significantly changed(p=.0001). However, muscle endurance in all 3 groups showed no significant differences. 3. The hemoglobin level of the exercise training group and the self efficacy group were significantly increased compared to that of the control group(p=.0001) and the cholesterol levels of the exercise training group and the self efficacy group were significantly decreased compared to that of the control group(p=,0001). However, the creatinine levels in all 3 groups showed no significant differences. 4. The activities of daily living scores of the exercise training group was significantly increased than that of the control group (p=.0003), and the quality of life scores of the exercise training group and the self efficacy group were significantly better than that of the control group(p=.0001). It would be expected that this self efficacy promotion and exercise training program could be applied widely as an effective nursing intervention for kidney transplant recipients.
This paper proposes a composite form of fuzzy adaptive control plan based on a robust observer. The fuzzy 2D control gains are regulated by the parameters in the LMIs. Then, control and learning performance indices with weight matrices are constructed as the cost functions, which allows the regulation of the trade-off between the two performance by setting appropriate weight matrices. The design of 2D control gains is equivalent to the LMIs-constrained multi-objective optimization problem under dual performance indices. By using this proposed smart tracking design via fuzzy nonlinear criterion, the data link can be further extended. To evaluate the performance of the controller, the proposed controller was compared with other control technologies. This ensures the execution of the control program used to track position and trajectory in the presence of great model uncertainty and external disturbances. The performance of monitoring and control is verified by quantitative analysis. The goals of this paper are towards access to adequate, safe and affordable housing and basic services, promotion of inclusive and sustainable urbanization and participation, implementation of sustainable and disaster-resilient buildings, sustainable human settlement planning and manage. Therefore, the goal is believed to achieved in the near future by the ongoing development of AI and control theory.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop and apply a motivation-strengthening obesity management program for obese subjects with visual impairment and evaluate its effects. Methods: The program development and evaluation periods were from March to August 2018. The study design was an experimental study of non-equality, control repeat design. 25 subjects in the experimental group participated in the 12-week obesity management program and the 26 people in the control group did not. Results: The motivation-strengthening obesity management program included stretching exercises for 30 minutes in the morning five times a week. In addition, counseling, education, and group discussions were continued once a week for motivational strengthening. Special custom exercises for blind patients were also completed once a week simultaneously. Both of these activities were continued for 50 minutes a week for a total of 12 weeks. Measurements were recorded periodically to identify the sustained effects of the program. The obese subjects with visual impairment improved their knowledge of obesity, perceived disability, self-efficacy of exercise, and quality of life related to obesity through the motivational obesity management program. Waist circumference, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, and fasting blood sugar were also improved in obese subjects. Conclusion: The study findings indicate that this program could be an active intervention for the control of weight gain in participants with visual impairment. Therefore, the motivation-strengthening program based on the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation& Evaluation) model could be an effective strategy for better health outcomes of obese subjects with visual impairment.

Purpose : This study was conducted to determine the effects of a brain spinning program on cognitive function, body composition, health related fitness and physical self-efficacy of children and adolescents. Methods : This study, 34 children and adolescents were selected and divided into two groups : the exercise group (n=16), which received a brain spinning program and the control group (n=16), which did not receive any exercise program. The program was conducted for 30 minutes three times a week for 4 weeks, and the cognitive function, body composition, health related fitness and physical self-efficacy were measured both before and after the program. Results : The exercise group, which received a brain spinning program showed a significant increase in short-term memory (p<.05) and working memory (p<.01), and muscle mass increased significantly only in the exercise group (p<.05). In addition, left grip strength increased in the exercise group (p<.01), and the maximum oxygen intake decreased significantly only in the control group (p<.05), and Sit-forward bend increased significantly only in the exercise group (p<.01). Physical self-efficacy significantly increased only in the exercise group (p<.05). Conclusion : In summary, short-term memory, cognitive efficiency, working memory, muscle mass, left grip strength, maximum oxygen intake, and left forward bending in children and adolescents significantly increased after the 4-week brain spinning program. However, the control group that was not provided with the 4-week brain spinning program showed a significant increase in body weight and a significant decrease in maximum oxygen intake. In conclusion, the 4-week brain spinning program has positive effects on short-term memory, cognitive function, muscle mass, muscle strength, cardiorespiratory endurance, flexibility, and physical self-efficacy.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of home exercise program on the improvement of muscle strength in the elderly. Subjects were forty members living in Daegu (20 males, 20 females), between 65 and 81 years of age. The subjects were divided into two groups; an experimental group and a control group, and each group included 10 males and 10 females. The subjects for the experimental group were participated in the home exercise program for 8 weeks, between April 2001 and June 2001. The results of this study follow: 1.General characteristics statistically significantly affecting for knee extensor strength were weight, height, right sight vision, diastolic blood pressure, pulse rate, obesity and thigh BMD; vision and thigh BMD were for knee flexor strength 2. After the exercise program, knee extensor strength in the experimental group improved 30.8% (p<0.001), and knee flexor strength improved 23.9% (p<0.001). 3. After the exercise program, there was significant difference in knee extensor strength (p<0.05) and knee flexor strength (p<0.05) between the experimental group and the control group. As a continuous health care for the elderly using this home exercise program could be helpful to enhance health of the elderly and promote their quality of life.
