Methods: The study was carried out by three age groups including twenties, thirties, and forties. Each group consisted of ten customers and evaluated twelve websites of dental hospitals. Each was assigned to four hospitals and three tasks including easiness of online reservation, preventive information, and treatment information. They filled out the self-administered questionnaire. The questionnaire included the easiness of on-line reservation, satisfaction on the quality and quantity of preventive informations, satisfaction on the quality and quantity of treatment informations, predictiveness on the sub-menu, usefulness of site map, information on the main page of web site, usefulness of decision on visit to dentistry, and revisit intention. Results: The easiness of on-line reservation was the highest in the private dental office, and university dental hospital and network dental hospitals followed in conducting task(1). The anticipated value and measurement on the usefulness of web site were the lowest in network dental hospitals and the time interval between two values was 57 seconds. This discrepancy showed the largest difference. The satisfaction on treatment information in task(3) was higher than that of the satisfaction on preventive information in task (2). The revisit intention was the highest in dental university hospitals. Conclusions: This study showed the comparison in usefulness of web site of university dental hospitals, network dental hospitals and private dental office. The web site focused on the treatment information rather than preventive information. This study suggested that the most important function of dental web site would be the preventive information that was mainly operated by the role of dental hygienists rather than treatment information in the future.

  • Reducing plate-waste for school lunches is an important strategy to guarantee adequate nutrition intakes by students as well as to protect the environment. This study was conducted to determine dieticians' perception of no-plate-waste day. The subjects were dieticians at 203 schools in Seoul and Kyeonggi-do. Among them, 132 schools (78.6%) operated no-plate-waste day once a week, 6.9% once a month, 10.8% twice a week, whereas 17.2% did not operate at all. According to dieticians, plate-waste per student on no-plate-waste day (mean 49.1 g) was lower than that on an ordinary day (mean 79.2 g). The most popular method to advertise no-plate-waste day was to notify it on the menu board (52.4%), followed by notifying it on the dining hall and the school website. The most frequently used reward on no-plate-waste day was a gift snack (67.3%), followed by complimentary stickers, awards, and GPA. The most common side effect of no-plate-waste day was students' abandoning foods (45.2%), followed by rejecting food and simplified menu. The most frequent barrier was insufficient recognition of necessity (39.3%), followed by shortage of manpower or budget and students and teachers' resistance. The dieticians at 35 schools without no-plate-waste day answered that they did not operate it due to 'no need perceived' and 'no budget' (31.4% and 31.4%, respectively). Based on this study, government and society should promote the need to reduce plate-waste by students and teachers as well as school administrators.

  • The development and generalization of the Internet increased the popularity of food delivery service applications in Korea. The food delivery market based on online-to-offline service is growing rapidly. This study compares the usability of Korean food delivery service application between that of Chinese food delivery service application. This study suggests improvement points for Korean food delivery service applications. To conduct this study, we explore the status of various food delivery service applications and conduct interviews and surveys based on the honeycomb model developed by Peter Morville. This study obtained the following results. First, all restaurants participating in the Korean food delivery service must be able to accept order through the application. Second, the shopping cart function must be able to accept order of all restaurants simultaneously. Third, when users look for menu recommendation, their purchase history and shopping cart functions should appear at the first page of the website. Users should be able to perceive the improved usability of the website using those functions. Fourth, when the search window is fixed on the top of each page, users should be able to find the information they need. Fifth, the application must allow users to find the exact location of the delivery person and the estimated delivery time. Finally, the restaurants'address should be disclosed and fast delivery time should be confirmed to enhance users'trust on the application. This study contributes to academia and industry by suggesting useful insight into food delivery service applications and improving the point of food delivery service application in Korea.

  • Domestic competition of Internet shopping malls is becoming more intense everyday. Users prefer an convenient and reliable shopping mall. Thus the design of Internet shopping malls with a strengthened convenience in usage will not only increase the desire of users to purchase, but will also encourage the users to revisit to the website, and it will increase the competitive power of the shopping mall. In this paper, I examined the interface design which users can use conveniently to purchase products, and proposed a design for an Internet shopping mall in which product information is conveniently provided to the user and the convenience in usage for guiding product selection and purchase is strengthened. The results of this study show that the navigation designs which allowed users to conveniently find products on Internet shopping malls included a roll-over menu in which a subdirectory was presented with a large area. If the navigation that guides products to users were designed more conveniently, users would be able to find and purchase products more easily. Since a web interface design with strengthened convenience in usage helps users to satisfactorily select and purchase products on an Internet shopping mall, it would increase the reliability of the shopping mall.

  • We live in the information technology era and experience the rapid global information environment change through Internet. Therefore, as distribution channels and service qualities in our daily lives are provided through Internet, these changes have been the foundation of constructing a new society. Naturally, the use of computer is widely spread out and it is hard to find any company that doesn't use computer in its work. However, the computer skills of those who are in their fifties cannot reach to what the companies need for them even though they are main working groups in our society. In addition, the Internet access rate of homemakers in their late forties and over fifties are low due to their lack of computer knowledge even though they are the target customers of the Internet service. Under these circumstances, we offer a lecture using simulation techniqe through which anybody can easily follow the instructions via the "Help" menu not a boring lecture that just show the text and reads it. Besides, each class will show you how to start Internet/ how to finish it, how to register a website, how to use e-mail, etc. So, it will let you know every detailed aspect that average people may disregard but a beginner may be afraid of starting the Internet.
