As the information of web dramatically increase, the existing web reveals more and more limitations in information search because web pages are designed only for human consumption by mixing content with presentation. In order to improve this situation, the Semantic Web comes on the stage by W3C. Semantic web is based on ontology that defines relationships between resources and it is enough to bring a significant advancement in web search. But to do this, the Semantic Web must provide a novel search and visualization methods which can make users instantly and intuitively understand why and how the results are retrieved because ontology has formal explicit descriptions of meaning. In this paper, we propose a semantic association-based search methodology that consists of how to find relevant information for a given user's query in the ontology, that is, a semantic network of resources and properties and how to provide proper visualization and navigation methods on the results. From this work, users can search the semantically associated resources for their query and also navigate such associations between resources.

Wireless LANs based on the IEEE 802.11 standard are widely spread for use nowadays. Traffic which are conveyed over the WLANs change rapidly from normal data such as Email and Web pages, to multimedia data of high resolution video and voice. To meet QoS (Quality of Service) required by these multimedia traffic, the IEEE 802 committee recently has developed a new standard, IEEE 802.11e. Current IEEE 802.11e, however, is not sufficient to support service differentiations and network performance enhancements, under a varying network environment experiencing as varying channel characteristics and high network loads. Recently, there have been much research to complement this deficiency of 802.11e standard. This paper surveys these research efforts.

To be successful in increasingly competitive Internet marketplace, it is essential to capture customer loyalty. This paper deals with an intelligent agent approach to incorporate customer's sensibility into an one-to-one recommendation service in on-line shopping mall. In this paper the focus of interest is on-line recommendation service algorithm for development of Human Sensibility based web agent system. The recommendation agent system composed of seven services including specialized algorithm. The on-line recommendation service algorithm use human sensibility ergonomics and on-line preference matching technologies to tailor to the customer the suggestion of goods and the description of store catalog. Customizing the system's behavior requires the parallel execution of several tasks during the interaction (e.g., identifying the customer's emotional preference and dynamically generating the pages of the store catalog). Most of the present shopping malls go through the catalog of goods, but the future shopping malls will have the form of intelligent shopping malls by applying the on-line recommendation service algorithm.

한국어 웹 문서에는 일반적으로 제목이 명시가 되어 있음으로 텍스트를 요약하는 방식의 제목추출과는 달리 여러 테이블 형태로 이루어진 웹 문서의 특성을 고려하여 제목에 해당하는 테이블 객체를 찾아내야 한다. 웹 문서를 테이블 객체의 리스트로 보고, 이들을 휴리스틱 규칙에 의해서 본문 후보와 이를 기준으로 하는 제목 후보 객체들로 구분하는 단계와 제목 후보들 간의 확률적 분포 값과 본문과의 언어적 유사도를 이용하여 제목 객체를 결정하는 단계를 통하여 제목을 인식한다. 인식의 정확성에 기여하는 것은 제목과 본문 객체를 구분하는 규칙 그리고 제목의 확률분포 및 언어적 유사 정도 등이며 이들 각 정보가 정확성에 기여하는 정도를 실험하였다. 무작위로 추출된 500개의 다양한 양식의 웹 문서를 대상으로 실험한 결과 제목인식 정확성은 95.1%였다.

The recent growing popularity of statistical methods in machine translation requires much more large parallel corpora. A Korean-English parallel corpus, however, is not yet enoughly available, little research on this subject is being conducted. In this paper we present a hybrid method of aligning sentences for Korean-English parallel corpora. We use bilingual news wire web pages, reading comprehension materials for English learners, computer-related technical documents and help files of localized software for building a Korean-English parallel corpus. Our hybrid method combines sentence-length based and word-correspondence based methods. We show the results of experimentation and evaluate them. Alignment results from using a full translation model are very encouraging, especially when we apply alignment results to an SMT system: 0.66% for BLEU score and 9.94% for NIST score improvement compared to the previous method.

The widespread diffusion of Internet has enables every college and education institute to develope cyber education systems to meet the multiple needs of students, but it is not true that the effectiveness of cyber education is fruitful in terms of evaluation systems. Most of the early developed web-based evaluation systems for cyber education require that all the students should solve uniformed test set which are included in the predetermined static HTML pages. Therefore, it is impossible to dynamically provide a test set with consistency and reliability. This paper purpose to describe the employment of simulated annealing in cyber testbank system for test set generation that satisfy all constraints. The constraints include number of items for each skill, method, domain, topic, and so on. This research developed two phase heuristic combining sequential test set generation algorithm with simulated annealing. As a result of computer simulations, it was found that the two phase heuristic outperforms the other algorithms.

웹 상의 정보는 여러 페이지들에 걸쳐 표현되고 있으나 대부분의 웹 브라우저는 웹 페이지 단위로 정보를 다루고 있기 때문에 사용자는 원하는 정보를 얻기 위해 여러 웹 페이지들을 방문해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 사용자의 요구에 부합되는 정보를 검색해 여러 페이지 상에 흩어져 있는 정보들에 대해 쉽게 이해할 수 있도록 컬렉션 페이지를 제공한다. 컬렉션 페이지는 검색된 웹 페이지들의 링크 관계를 제공하여 페이지들 사이에서의 정보의 구성을 알 수 있게 하고, 관련도 높은 페이지들의 주요 내용을 미리 가져와 보여 줌으로써 정보에 대한 접근성을 높인다. 이를 위해 페이지 안에서 시각적으로 구분되는 동일한 주제의 정보를 담은 블록을 의미 구역으로 정의하고 웹 페이지를 실제 정보의 단위인 의미 구역으로 나누었다. 또한 의미 구역단위의 검색으로 여러 주제의 정보를 담고 있는 웹 페이지에 대한 검색 결과의 정확성을 높인다.

The purpose of this research is to compare the present education for information professionals in the United Kingdom and the United States of America. It is intended to find out how the differences in the professional organization's role on the education and the educational institution's status of the two countries influence on the professional education. The research was done through the reviews of literature searched and the analyses of the data on the web-based home pages of the institutions concerned. It is concluded that the differences have caused the different educational patterns of the countries. The similarities and differences are interpreted and some suggestions are provided.

The exhibition and convention industries, which are recognized as industrial hub linked with many relational industries. It is important to prevent a excessive competition for convention centers among districts and to gain some benefit fairly. Each convention center needs a lot of convention to held in it's district. In order to obtain many conventions to held in Korea for many convention center, convention bureau has to manage the processes to attract convention with many collaborators using the convention hub-network system. We should, therefore, pay attention to construction of the convention Hub-Network system to activate the convention industries in the district. We lay out the critical design for three functions of the convention Hub-Network system using UML. Finally we show the demonstrative web pages that explain critical three functions.

The Future Internet that includes Real World Objects and the Internet of Things together with the more classic web pages will move communications from a nodecentric organization to an information-centric network allowing new a paradigm to take place. The 4WARD project initiated some works on the Future Internet. One of them is the creation of a Network of Information designed to enable more powerful semantic searches. In this paper, we propose a security solution for a model of information based on a semantic description and search of objects. The proposed solution takes into account both the access and the management of both objects and their descriptions.
