  • 현재 인터넷상의 QoS(Quality of Service) 향상을 위해서 여러 가지 방법과 기술들이 소개되고 있다. 이러한 QoS 향상을 위해 트래픽 제어기법과 IS(Integrated Services), DS(Differentiated Services), Tag Switching, MPLS(Multi protocol Label Switching) 등과 같은 방법으로 인터넷에서 보다 나은 서비스를 지원하려는 노력이 시도되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 특히 TCP connection에서의 initial window size의 변경이 네트워크의 QoS, 즉 link의 utilization과 packet의 drop, performance에 어떠한 영향을 주는지를 살펴본다. 그리고, 이에 대한 특성을 분석하고 개선점을 현재의 인터넷에서 가장 많이 사용되어지고 있는 FTP와 web에 대한 모델을 사용하여 가상적으로 시뮬레이션을 해본다.

  • The number of development in educational software is currently decreasing despite rapid improvement in computer technology. This is partly due to the fact that the current software relies on the conventional hypermedia method or on the hierarchical method, both of which have inherent limitations. To compensate their limitations while keeping their merits, a hybrid method called the structured hypermedia link method has recently been proposed in the literature. It has been found that the structured hypermedia link method is far superior than the conventional methods in terms of educational effectiveness because it can help a learner to search various data by navigating between the study topics on his own while maintaining his level of cognitively overloaded stress to the minimum. The clinical microbiology laboratories were chosen as the candidate site for this study because its educational system has not been standardized and has been relying heavily on the personal experience. In this study, the hypermedia link method was applied to the development of an education system for the image analysis in clinical microbiology laboratories. For this purpose, a web-based computer aided instruction(CAI) program was designed to systematically organize the Gram stain method based on the standardized image data. In the future, CAI program must be intended to educate for beginner and developed to accept for variable knowledge. And it will be useful program for technicians in case of applying various examinations based Gram stain method of this study.

A Study on the Management and Services of Web Resources in Policy Research Institutes (정책연구기관의 웹자원 관리와 서비스 제공 방안에 관한 연구)

  • This research was examined to evaluate whether the websites of 6 policy research institutes provide web resources which were collected and provided as information resources, and that they were sure that the web resources had value as policy information by content analysis method. Web resources provided as policy information in policy research institutes were classified into and evaluated by 4 categories. Evaluation had been conducted on 10 items in the 4 categories of content, design, accessibility and meta data. From the result, the information content have been found to be reliable and up-to-date although more thorough description is required. Navigation and the search function in the design category were found to be excellent, but dead links were present in all of the institutions. The accessibility was proven to be great as it was able to access information with only three clicks. However, it has been found that a comprehensive review of the meta data is required in order to improve the accuracy of search functions. In conclusion, improvements to the dead link problems, quality control of the meta data, systematic and professional management plan of policy research information, and the establishment of a comprehensive policy research information portal system have been proposed.

A Exploratory Study on the Expansion of Academic Information Services Based on Automatic Semantic Linking Between Academic Web Resources and Information Services (웹 정보의 자동 의미연계를 통한 학술정보서비스의 확대 방안 연구)

  • In this study, we link informal Web resources to KISTI NDSL's collections using automatic semantic indexing and tagging to examine the possibility of the service which recommends related documents using the similarity between KISTI's formal information resources and informal web resources. We collect and index Web resources and make automatic semantic linking through STEAK with KISTI's collections for NDSL retrieval. The macro precision which shows retrieval precision per a subject category is 62.6% and the micro precision which shows retrieval precision per a query is 66.9%. The experts' evaluation score is 76.7. This study shows the possibility of semantic linking NDSL retrieval results with Web information resources and expanding information services' coverage to informal information resources.

Exploratory Study of Applying Historiography and SPLC for Developing Information Services: A Case Study of LED Domain (연구지원 정보서비스를 위한 히스토리오그래프와 SPLC 활용에 관한 실험적 연구: LED 분야 사례를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the data coverage and citation threshold for analyzing SPLC(Search Path Link Count) as a main path of a historiograph of a certain topic in order to provide 'core' papers of global research trends to a researcher affiliated with a local R&D institution. 5 datasets were constructed by retrieving and collecting 2,318 articles on RGB LED on Web of Science published from 1990-2013 and 20,109 articles which cited these original 2,318. The SPLC analysis was performed on each dataset by increasing the threshold of citation counts, and the changes and resilience of the 28 extraced networks were compared. The results of user feedback on 198 unique core papers from 28 SPLC networks received from LED researchers affiliated with a Korean government-sponsored research institution were also analyzed. As a result, it is found that the nodes in each SPLC network in each dataset were differentiated by the citation counts, while the changes in the structure of SPLC networks were slight after the networks' citation counts were set at 40. Additionally, the user feedback showed that personalized research interest generally matched to the global research trends identified by the SPLC analysis.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest web accessibility improvement direction through web accessibility evaluation of 16 local government education and training institutions. For this purpose, we evaluated the websites of 14 education and training institutions excluding some websites. The evaluation was conducted through automatic evaluation by Open-WAX and manual evaluation by three experts. As a result of the analysis, although the web accessibility compliance rate improved, problems such as alternate text, skip link, and markup error prevention were found. This study suggests the future direction of research and adherence to web accessibility of local governments.

  • Vulnerable web applications have been the primary method used by the attackers to spread their malware to a large number of victims. Such attacks commonly make use of malicious links to remotely execute a rather advanced malicious code. The attackers often deploy malwares that utilizes unknown vulnerabilities so-called "zero-day vulnerabilities." The existing computer vaccines are mostly signature-based and thus are effective only against known attack patterns, but not capable of detecting zero-days attacks. To mitigate such limitations of the current solutions, there have been a numerous works that takes a behavior-based approach to improve detection against unknown malwares. However, behavior-based solutions arbitrarily introduced a several limitations that made them unsuitable for real-life situations. This paper proposes an advanced web browser based malicious behavior detection system that solves the problems and limitations of the previous approaches.

  • Information is increasing continuously in on-line, it is real condition that inaccurate informations are mass-produced but effort to keep accuracy of these informations is lacking. Already, research about government official of information in World Wide Web is consisting of various method and viewpoint, but problem for the importance of correct information offer and offer of mistake information in World Wide Web about specification target and administration way presentation are no research reward yet and system that can keep accuracy of information is not equiped properly. ss and accuracy whether mistake information in harbor and bay connection web site's administration influences how in authoritativeness security of site and present condition information of harbor and bay and operation information. In this study, we wish to present administration way about mistake informations that is required that recognize problem of mistake information and the administration's importance in on-line in this research, and supply phenomenon information in Web site. We made the right definition about mistake of information through priority literature investigation and virtued research for this, and sorted mistake information in type. And we investigated Pusan port connection information and offered present condition in on-line and research on actual state of mistake information offer and analysis. Reflecting type and special quality of examined mistake informations, We want to make people recognize the importance af freshness and accuracy whether mistake information in harbor and bay connection web site's administration influences how in authoritativeness security of site and present condition information of harbor and bay and operation information.

Exploring Community Structure and Function with Network Analysis: a Case Study of Cheonggye Stream (생태계 네트워크 분석을 이용한 생물 군집의 구조와 기능에 대한 연구: 청계천을 사례로)

  • It is important to consider interaction between species in understanding structure and function of the biological community. Current ecological issues such as climate change and habitat loss emphasize the significance of the concept of species interaction in that varying species' interaction across environmental gradients may lead to altered ecological function and services. However, most community studies have focused on species diversity through analysis of quantitative indices based on species composition and abundance data without considering species interactions in the community. 'Ecological network analysis' based on network theory enables exploration of structural and functional properties of ecosystems composed of various species and their interactions. In this paper, network analysis of Cheonggye stream as a case study was presented to promote uses of network analysis on ecological studies in Korea. Cheonggye stream has a simple biological structure with link density of 1.48, connectance 0.07, generality 4.43, and vulnerability 1.94. The ecological network analysis can be used to provide ecological interpretations of domestic long-term monitoring data and can contribute to conserving and managing species diversity in ecosystems.

Association of the human papillomavirus infection with the recurrence of sinonasal inverted papilloma: a systematic review and meta-analysis

  • Background: Although the role of human papillomavirus (HPV) in sinonasal inverted papilloma (SNIP) has been investigated, the link between HPV infection and SNIP recurrence remains controversial. This meta-analysis aimed to investigate the association between HPV infection and recurrence of SNIP. Methods: The PubMed, Web of Science, Google Scholar, and Cochrane Library databases were searched (until 16 June 2021) to collect all relevant articles. The pooled odds ratio (OR) with 95% confidence interval (CI) was calculated using the fixed effects model. In addition, subgroup analysis, assessment of publication bias, and sensitivity analyses were performed. Results: Fourteen eligible articles, including 592 patients with SNIP, were included in this study. Pooled analysis revealed that HPV-positive cases exhibited a significantly higher OR of tumour recurrence than HPV-negative counterparts). A significant association between HPV infection and tumour recurrence remained stable in subgroup analyses according to the publication year of the studies. Conclusions: Our meta-analysis demonstrates that HPV infection is significantly associated with the recurrence of SNIP, suggesting the pathological role of HPV in SNIP. These results suggest that HPV infection should be considered in the management of SNIP.
