The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors influencing consumers' selection of web-toon service through AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) analysis and to provide the strategy of web-toon service. To accomplish this study, theories, existing research and references related to AHP were sufficiently examined and selected the factors in the selection criteria. Surveys from consumers who used the web-toon service were conducted with selected factors. Through this, the results were analyzed by AHP analysis to find out the weighting values and the differences were examined and analyzed. The highest weighting factor in the first layer that consists of web-toon service was cinematic quality. The cinematic quality was the most important factor in the selection criteria of customers who use the web-toon service regardless of their preferred genre. Furthermore, it was confirmed that the weighting value or ranking changed in the second layer by genre. In this study, the effective basis of strategy were suggested by ranking the quantitative selection factors according to the preferred genre of consumers using web-toon services. In addition, This research provides some practical implications. That is, the web-toon service provider can easily recognize and respond to the customer's requirements, which factors are important when the customer selects a specific genre from the web-toon genre.

Web novels are one of the most actively adapted genre novels under a new medium called the Internet. Research on cultural content implemented on top of digital media is naturally closely related to environmental changes in digital media. The same goes for Web novels sparked by the identity of Web platforms. Especially in the case of web novels, the platform itself that provides them has triggered direct changes in genre code and reading patterns. From this perspective, this thesis wanted to examine the formation process and strategic features of web novels, which became content and products on the web platform environment. First of all, through the formation process ranging from communication novels to Internet novels and web novels, I arranged the transition to digital media and the change of genre novel market. This was an attempt to extract that Web novels not only have continuity as genre novels, but also have a turning point as digital content. Web novels are digital content that internalizes the values of the Web 2.0 era. It should also be a core product that grows the pie in the market in its own right. This paper noted that web novels are content that embodies these consumption values. So this thesis considered about what is the visualization and commercialization strategy of the web-based novels that is currently formed, and what is the current status of the web-based romance novels as the content and the product that is driving OSMU most actively in the process of commercialization. Through this process, I found that the greatest characteristic of web novels as genre novels that have evolved into digital content is their division and crack of genre.

This article analyzes 'book traveler' stories as a new sub-genre of Korean fantasy web fiction. Formal innovation is revealed as the major motivation of Korean fantasy web fiction's narratives. Furthermore, the imagination of social resistance was presented as the formal devices of the genre. These theses were performed during the analysis of the two characteristics of the genre. In this genre, the main character is the writer or reader of fantasy stories. He moves into a novel he is describing or reading. The original novel, which was entered by the main character, is a space characterized by the custom of a typical fantasy genre. Therefore, the main character actually experiences cliché, typical genre devices and plots. The most important action for the main character here is to 'bend' the custom of the original. Therefore, this genre is in the form of the main motive being the refraction of typology. Meanwhile, the main character is not the central character of the original, but a secondary figure. The central character of the original book is usually from the ruling class, which monopolizes the good resources of society. At this time, the genre creates a subversive situation in which the social underdog goes beyond the social power through plots that overwhelm the central figure. It converts the reader's social desire into a genre device. To summarize, the latest trend in Korean web novel fantasy has captured scenes of renewed Korean genre literature practices. It sensitively reflects the social context of the contemporaries and the reader's desire. Thus, the Korean web novel fantasy has reflected both its internal conditions and its social context.

The concept of genre used to be applied to classify the fine arts also can investigate various way of communication system and classification. The structuring element of genre was identified by form and contents in that field. But the classification of the web, which is new communication tool, was made by defining the purpose of the web. In this paper the genre system, which consists of form, contents, and function, is applied to classify the web so that we offer tile opportunity to identify dearer characteristics of it. In order to investigate the genre elements in the communication process the structure of the semiotic triad after Charles S. Peirce was adapted, which was labeled as representamen, object, and interpretant. The representamen substitutes for the web function, the object does for the form of the web, and the representamen does for the web contents. According to the Peirce's the representamen identify the object but on the other hand it is identified by the interpretant. Logical structure of the fact that form of the web is identified by its function, and the function is identified by the contents is proved by following the theory. Therefore, the concept of web genre is supported by the element of genre having a logical structure activating in the communication process. We suggest that in recent complicated communication circumstance the genre concept should be adapted to implement the effective web communication design.

An increasing number of people in their lifes have used personal web-casting services as a new type of broadcasting, whose power has grown in the broadcasting market and industry. Nevertheless, limited research concerning personal web-casting has been conducted so far. This research explored consumption structures of personal web-casting users in terms of their genre usage based on the theoretical concept of genre repertoire. And it also examined what determinants have influences on these structures by focusing on as an representative case in South Korea. The findings showed that sensation seeking, motivation for getting information and social presence affect genre repertoire of personal web-casting users. They also indicated that there is a moderating effect of social presence in the relationship between motivation for joy and genre repertoire.

Effective and Economic game evaluation before game publishing is very important for game development company. In this paper, we designed and developed an effective web based game evaluation system according to three major game genre including MMORPG, FPS, and web game. The proposed evaluation model consists of five evaluation items such as game interest, competitiveness, technology, earning power, and market value and has common evaluation items and independent ones according to game genre. To reflect characteristics of each game genre, we divided evaluation items into common evaluation elements and individual ones according to game genre. We applied the proposed system to two real games of a game development company and showed the result.

It still has some restrictions to collect a specialized information with only the function of existing web robot which collect an enormous of data by circulating through the internet. Therefore, in this paper the functions of the current web robot and its application areas are analyzed and the limitations of collecting a specialized information are found out. Also we define what functions are necessary for a web robot in order to collect a specialized information. Then the designed structure is described. There are two critical functions which are applied to web robot. One is a genre-based categorization that classifies the text by the type, and the other is a content-based categorization by the subject. Most of all, genre-based categorization is used as fundamental feature which enables web robot to collect the aimed documents efficiently.

The study noted the characteristics of the web novel's 'Book Travel' motif, which reflects the characteristics of popular culture content, which is free to use familiar genre grammar or code. The imagination of the main character entering the work he read in the real world is a reinterpretation of the existing genre grammar of the web novel, and studying the motif is meaningful in reviewing the intertext of the genre. This motif, summarized as 'Book Travel' differs from other genres in the romance fantasy genre, which can also be used to reveal the gender characteristics of the genre. The study noted that the 'Book Travel' motif was born from an interactive interpretation of existing narratives, thus having a affinity with dimensional shift, regression, and alternative historical objects, and referring to the writing norms of Fanfiction. Through this, it was predicted that the re-combination of existing narratives and interference between genres would continue in the future. Next, the original move in the romance fantasy genre was seen as quite conservative and revealing the logic of self-improvement even though people around him became the main characters and overthrew the narrative. The characters should use their knowledge of the future of the real world to fight in a world of survival where destruction has been predicted. The appearance of an ethical and self-help subject is interesting, but on the other hand, I could look at conservatism in that romance is a way of survival and achievement of characters. The research is meaningful in that it reviewed the characteristics of the original transfer motif, which started fairly quickly in the romance fantasy genre, and reviewed its appearance background and characteristics. There was a limit to the collection of physical works and limited platform. The above limits are intended to be supplemented by further reviewing and supplementing later works.

Many researchers have been studied to reveal human natural language to let machine understand its meaning by text based, page rank based or more. Particularly, it has been considered that URL and HTML Tag information in web documents are attracting people' attention again to analyze huge amount of web document automatically. In this paper, we propose a STW (Semantic Term Weight) approach based on syntactic and linguistic structure of web documents in order to classify what genres are. For the evaluation, we analyzed more than 1,000 documents from 20-Genre-collection corpus for training the documents based on SVM algorithm. Afterwards, we tested KI-04 corpus to evaluate performance of our proposed method. This paper measured their accuracy by classifying them into an experiment using STW and one without u sing STW. As the results, the proposed STW based approach showed approximately 10.2% which Is higher than one without use of STW.

A genre or a style is another view of documents different from a subject or a topic. The style is also a criterion to classify the documents. There have been several studies on detecting a style of textual documents. However, only a few of them dealt with web documents. In this paper we suggest sets of features to detect styles of web documents. Web documents are different from textual documents in that Dey contain URL and HTML tags within the pages. We introduce the features specific to web documents, which are extracted from URL and HTML tags. Experimental results enable us to evaluate their characteristics and performances.
