Design of the Web based Mini-PACS (웹(Web)을 기반으로 한 Mini-PACS의 설계)

  • PACS mostly has been used in large scaled hospital due to expensive initial cost to set up the system. The network of PACS is independent of the others: network. The user's PC has to be connected physically to the network of PACS as well as the image viewer has to be installed. The web based mini-PACS can store, manage and search inexpensively a large quantity of radiologic image acquired in a hospital. The certificated user can search and diagnose the radiologic image using web browser anywhere Internet connected. The implemented Image viewer is a viewer to diagnose the radiologic image. Which support the DICOM standard and was implemented to use JAVA programming technology. The JAVA program language is cross-platform which makes easier upgrade the system than others. The image filter was added to the viewer so as to diagnose the radiologic image in detail. In order to access to the database, the user activates his web browser to specify the URL of the web based PACS. Thus, The invoked PERL script generates an HTML file, which displays a query form with two fields: Patient name and Patient ID. The user fills out the form and submits his request via the PERL script that enters the search into the relational database to determine the patient who is corresponding to the input criteria. The user selects a patient and obtains a display list of the patient's personal study and images.

  • Recent popularity of web-ready mobile devices such as PDA and cellphone has made mobile Internet access very popular. However, most of existing Web contents and services are optimized for desktop computing environment and not well suited for mobile devices. Considering different system features of mobile devices such as small display and limited input capability, an alternative scheme to access the Web efficiently is required. On the other hand, personalization plays an important role in the tailored access to the Web contents and services. In this paper, we propose a proxy- based personalization scheme of Web service pages for mobile users. For that purpose, in addition to log data. service related features of Web pages are considered for the correct identification of popular services. It automatically provides mobile users with the tailored list of Web services well suited for diverse mobile devices. Consequently, mobile users can utilize customized Web services with minimum navigation on the mobile devices with limited capability. In order to show its effectiveness, we have performed several experiments on the prototype system and reported some of the results.

  • The paper describes on the implementation of three-dimensional visualization system that is to visualize meaning of the statistical prediction results of marine casualty with easy of understanding. Graphical User Interface(GUI) and Web based Virtual Reality (VR) technology are mainly introduced in the system development. In addition, the time based prediction models of the marine casualty and the risk level are developed to display daily situation. As operating test results of the system, it is known that complicated statistical results can be shown as simple colour in the three-dimensional virtual space.

  • Until now, we have believed that one of advantages of cyber market is that it can virtually display and sell goods because it does not necessary maintain expensive physical shops and inventories. But, in a highly competitive environment, business model that does away with goods in stock must be modified. As we know in the case of AMAZON, leading companies already consider merchandise management as a critical success factor in their business model. That is, a solution to compete against one's competitors in a highly competitive environment is merchandise management as in the traditional retail market. Cyber market has not only past sales data but also web log data before sales data that contains information of path that customer search and purchase on cyber market as compared with traditional retail market. So if we can correctly analyze the characteristics of before sales patterns using web log data, we can better prepare for the potential customers and effectively manage inventories and merchandises. We introduce a systematic analysis method to extract useful data for merchandise management - demand forecasting, evaluating & selecting - using web mining that is the application of data mining techniques to the World Wide Web. We use various techniques of web mining such as clustering, mining association rules, mining sequential patterns.

  • Web technology for next generation, led by W3C, is focusing on overcoming of limitation of Human-oriented Web. With circumstance of dramatic increasing information flow in current existing Web, human view based HTML technology is significantly loosing its value. To overcome limitation of Human-oriented Web, new alternative method is essentially required In this context, Machine-oriented Web which machine is searching for information, has been researched as a new alternative. This thesis reviewed MDL (Meaning Definition Language) which is regarded as most generally using method for implementation of Machine-Oriented Web, and presented modeling concept and implementation method in detail. To verify tile value of this presented implementation method, this thesis includes actual cases which has based on proposed implementation method. As an end, we have tried to give a technical assistance to developer of MDL Editor by suggesting MDL Editor implementation display, which has been founded on the proposed modeling method.

  • In this paper, we introduce a new programming learning system for young students. The programming learning system consists of a LED display kit and a web-based flowchart system. The LED display kit acts as an output device by way of displaying lights while following a set of instructions given through a flowchart programming. In the flowchart system, the students use symbolic variables for the calculation and can get various displays or animations after creating a flowchart by drag-and-drop. Then we describe the survey results of various programming classes using our system between fall 2005 and spring 2009. The programming teaching was conducted with diverse groups such as elementary school students, gifted students, college students, and teachers etc. The responses from our in class surveys were generally positive.

  • In this paper, we represented the HTML5 webpage in 3D space for the 3D stereoscopic display by using CSS3 stylesheet; browser-based declarative contents, and proposed CSS Stereo 3DTV Profile. First, we suggested various webpage separation methods for reconstructing webpages in the 3D space effectively. Next, we suggested 3D view volume setting method by using extended CSS3 modules. And then, pre-processor converts sample contents which is written extended CSS stylesheet into the present CSS stylesheet for displaying in the webkit based browser. For the resulting stereoscopic images, we developed a rendering engine emulator which is implemented in JavaScript for simple display in the web browser, which produced dual images from virtual left and right-eyed cameras. And we have checked the sample contents displayed on the 3DTV.

  • We investigated the proper display environment for japanese electronic character reading lessons through the experiment with a projection TV and a computer. For the purpose of finding out the effect of prior learning activities at the context of authentic Japanese text orthography, which includes dual notation, words spacing, etc., we also made an experiment on comprehending the web documents which are extracted from japanese web sites. From the experimental results, we acquired a conclusion that two approaches are needed to enhance the ability of comprehending Japanese web documents which is newly added to the 7th curriculum revision. For short-term approach, we need to utilize Japanese web documents as learning materials. For long-term approach, we have to reconsider whether the orthography of the current Japanese textbooks is suitable or not.

  • JPEG is good for full color representation but is poor in quality of image because of the small size and the losing compression ways. GIF is a kind of format style made for image - transmission in Compuserve which is a method of PC communication in U. S. A and now is used in world wide web owing to the efficiency of file compression and transmission. But GIF only is used 256 colors, so the images in web has a poorer quality of colors effect to be compared with those of printed catalogues. Also there can be licence problems when the images is used for commercial uses because the possession is Compuserve. The PNG is a way that the total advantages of JPEG and GIF. PNG image file is a more skillful (bitmap display unit), shows a high quality image like TIFF image about, gives superior compression , a 10% to 30% represents full color, 256 color, gray like JPEG. GIF file which uses LZW compression file is a thing which pays licence, In other hands, PNG is free from licence and more skillful image processing method against image error, and it is possible to conserve the color information. Therefore, this treatise is about how various images which are utilized for commercial printings in web, can be made into PNG files about the compression file. And the representation of image by compared the G]U images with JPEG images as well as compression file and the representation of image the superiority of color representation. In addition, 1 check out how much ranges the PNG files are available for electronic publish printing.
