팬츠 스타일과 허리선 위치 변화에 따른 시각적 이미지의 평가와 상호효과 (The Mutual Effect and Evaluation of Visual Image according to Change in Waist Position and Pants Style)

  • This study evaluates the difference in visual images according to changes in waist position and pants style. The researcher made twelve stimuli-combination of four pants styles (classic, baggy, skinny, bell-bottom) and three waist positions (0cm, -3cm, -5cm). The test involved 48 female college students. The stimuli were made using the i-Designer computer program. The panels tested the screen images of all manikins wearing pants. A 7-point scale was used to evaluate each image. For the data analysis, the ANOVA and Duncan-test were applied along with an SPSS program. The results of this study are as follows. The visual evaluations by pants style and waist position are composed of seven factors (attractiveness, attention, hip, activity, height, waist, abdomen). Among these factors, attractiveness is evaluated to be the most important factor. The mutual agreement of the visual effect (according to pants style and waist position) was indicated as four factors of attractiveness, attention, waist, and abdomen. The height factor is evaluated to be the most important factor by change in regards to waist position. The 0cm waist position of three styles (classic, baggy, bell-bottom) were evaluated positively in elongated height whereas the -3cm, -5cm waist position of the skinny style was evaluated positively in elongated height. The mutual agreements of visual effect (according to pants style and waist position) were not indicated.

테마파크 캐릭터 코스튬의 특성 (Characteristics of Character Costume in the Theme Park)

  • The purpose of this study is to research on concept, consisting factors, and specialties of theme park' character costumes to understand better about character costumes as well as to establish fundamental research data. The characteristics of character costumes in the theme park are as follows. First, theme park' character costumes are personified so that visitors may feel friendly and have emotional communication with them. Specially, costume that anthropomorphize an animal(85.3%) and silhouette of lozenge style(86.8%) dominated the highest weight. Animal figures are walking upright and wearing human's clothes. They communicate with visitors using mime actions. Second, various types of body proportion is applied to highlight the characteristics of character costume. Most character costumes are applied with unrealistic body proportion. This unrealistic body proportion give abnormal image and looks funny. The important factor is size of their head. Especially, 3.5 body proportion(78.9%) is general. Third, simplification, exaggeration, shrinkage, and modification are other factors. Simplification is applied differently by parts. Pocket, collar details are simplified to clarify the character's image. More simplification can lead to ommission. For their head, peculiar parts look stand out but other parts are simplified to stress their characteristics. Exaggeration is used with shrinkage to give strong impression to visitors. Forms are broken intentionally and they are modified. They look impressive because they are not harmonized. It is unexpected image and induces humor and familiar feelings. Matter of stylization includes exaggeration, shrinkage, modification and movement of actors that have tangible factor of character costume.

다문화가정 아동의 신체이미지와 의복행동이 자아존중감에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Body Image and Clothing Behavior on Self-Esteem of Multicultural Children)

  • This research explores the relationship between body image and clothing behavior in order to enhance self-efficacy among multicultural children based on a survey of 167 children. The statistical analysis indicated that children value(in decreasing order)family-esteem, friend-esteem, self-esteem, and school-esteem. School-esteem is the lowest, with boys displaying slightly higher levels of esteem than girls. A boys' self-esteem appears enhanced by higher satisfaction with overall appearance and weight; however, girls' self-esteem helped them address appearance and physical characteristics with positive attitudes. In addition, the clothing behavior of children significantly influenced self-esteem to differing degrees based upon gender. A boys' self-esteem can be increased by having them show interest in clothes rather than letting them wear similar clothes to their friends because their self-esteem can be heightened by higher interests and lower similarity. A girls' self-esteem can be augmented by the clean management of clothes and comfortable wearing due to their emphasis on manageability and comfort. This survey was limited to the Gyeonggi and Inchon area and leaves room for future studies.

Evaluation of 3-Dimensional Exoscopes in Brain Tumor Surgery

  • Objective : Though the operating microscope (OM) has been the standard optical system in neurosurgery, a new technology called three-dimensional (3D) exoscope has emerged as an alternative. Herein, two types of 3D exoscopes for brain tumor surgery are presented. In addition, the advantages and limitations compared with the OM are discussed. Methods : In the present study, 3D exoscope VOMS-100 or VITOM 3D was used in 11 patients with brain tumor who underwent surgical resection; the Kinevo 900 OM was used only in emergency. After completion of all surgeries, the participants were surveyed with a questionnaire regarding video image quality on the display monitor, handling of equipment, ergonomics, educational usefulness, 3D glasses, and expectation as a substitute for the OM. Results : Among 11 patients, nine patients underwent neurosurgical resection with only 3D exoscope; however, two patients required additional aid with the OM due to difficulty in hemostasis. Regarding video image quality, VITOM 3D was mostly equivalent to the OM, but VOMS-100 was not. However, both 3D exoscopes showed advantages in accessibility of instruments in the surgical field and occupied less space in the operating theater. Differences in ergonomics and educational usefulness between the exoscopes were not reported. Respondents did not experience discomfort in wearing 3D glasses and thought the exoscopes could be currently, and in the future, used as a substitute for the OM. Conclusion : Although many neurosurgeons are not familiar with 3D exoscopes, they have advantages compared with the OM and similar image quality. Exoscopes could be a substitute for OM in the future if some limitations are overcome.

크로마키를 이용한 증강현실 영상출력 연구 (A Study on the Augmented Reality Display for Educating Power Tiller Operator using Chroma-key)

  • 경운기 시뮬레이터 운전자가 가상환경에서 교육에 몰입할 수 있도록 현실세계에 가상 물체를 겹쳐 보여주는 증강 현실 기술을 구현하였다. 3D 카메라 입력 장치로부터 초당 30 frame 이상 속도로 경운기 모의 운전 장치의 영상을 획득한다. 획득된 현실 영상을 크로마키 처리하여 가상 현실과 결합하였다. RGB 영상의 HSI 변환 실험결과 색상 최대값 0.52, 최소값 0.153, 채도 최대값 0.57, 최소값 0.16, 명도 최대값 1, 최소값 0.12이 크로마키 처리를 위해 최적값이었다. 본 연구에서는 키패드를 이용하여 크로마키 처리된 현실 영상의 위치를 전 후 상 하 좌 우를 버튼으로 조정하여 초기 결합위치를 조정할 수 있고 최종 조정된 값은 저장하여 유지 관리되도록 하였다. 이를 토대로 초당 30프레임 이상의 속도로 가상현실과 크로마키 처리 영상을 결합한 증강현실 구현이 가능함을 보였다.

청소년기 장신구 착장에 관한 연구 - 라이프스타일과 의복행동을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Ornaments Wear of Adolescents - Focusing on the Life Style and Clothing Behavior -)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the disposition of adolescents in their ornament wearing pattern associate with their life style and clothing behavior. The subject of this study consists of 345 middle and high school girls living in Chung-Nam Province and Taejon Metropolitan City. SPSS/PC+ program was utilized to calculated frequency(N), mean value(M) and standard deviation(SD) for statistical analysis. Differences among the populations were examined through f test, ANOVA. The results of this study reveals that the ornaments wearing patterns are significantly different according to their life style and clothing behavior as follows: 1. Correlation between the wear of ornaments and the life style: School girls who pursue the modernistic life style prefer the fashionable ornaments (e.g. sunglasses) and they are always in contact with the latest information. On the contrary, school girls who pursue the practical life style emphasize on the practical use when they purchase the ornaments, e.g. umbrella. School girls having romantic or passive nature have a preference for the brand name and brand image of the ornaments and they in general would like to buy ornaments such as the bracelets. 2. Correlation between the wear of ornaments and the clothing behavior: School girls having sympathetic nature and being deeply interested in clothing put a stress on the latest fashion of the ornaments. They usually want to buy fashionable ornaments such as the cellular phone, beeper and sunglasses. Subjects who estimate themselves by their garments are sensitive to the price of the ornaments while aesthetes emphasize the brand image of the ornaments. Chaste school girls put their emphasis on the quality of the ornaments and they most want to have functional hair bands. Following suggestions can be made based on the discussions above: It is necessary for us to have correct understanding about the correlation between the ornaments and clothing of school girls in order to lead them to have appropriate clothing behavior. Furthermore, it is required to construct a bridge linking a course of study to rational habits guidance which will provide us more appropriate tools for clothing behavior guidance.

임플란트 시술환자에 대한 두경부 CT검사 영상 평가 (Head & Neck CT Scan Image Evaluation for Implant Surgery Patients)

  • 본 연구는 임플란트 시술한 환자에 대한 두경부 CT 영상을 4개의 알고리즘(Standard, Soft, Bone, Detail)을 재구성하여 Noise, SNR, CNR 측정값을 정량적으로 분석한 후 최적의 알고리즘을 알아보고자 하였다. 분석방법으로는 Image J 프로그램을 이용하여 재구성한 영상에 관심영역(Region of interest)을 통하여 픽셀값을 계산하였다. Noise, SNR, CNR은 측정부위를 영상에서 인두, 깨물근, 귀밑샘이 있는 지점에 관심영역을 측정하고 mean값과 SD값을 구하였다. SNR과 CNR의 값은 주어진 식에 의거하여 산출하였다. 결과적으로 Standard 알고리즘에서 노이즈는 가장 낮게 나타났으며 SNR 또한 가장 높게 나타났다. CNR은 Soft 알고리즘에서 가장 높게 나타났으나 Standard 알고리즘과는 별 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 두경부 CT검사에서 구강내 임플란트 착용한 환자 검사에서 Standard 알고리즘이 최적의 알고리즘이라고 사료되며 이 연구의 자료가 두경부 CT검사에서 영상 평가하는데 기초자료로 사용되기를 바라며 다양한 알고리즘 변화로 영상의 질을 더 높일 수 있는 계기가 될 것으로 판단된다.

합성곱 신경망의 비지니스 응용: 런웨이 이미지를 사용한 의류 분류를 중심으로 (Business Application of Convolutional Neural Networks for Apparel Classification Using Runway Image)

  • 최근 딥러닝은 오디오, 텍스트 및 이미지 데이터와 같은 비 체계적인 데이터를 대상으로 다양한 추정, 분류 및 예측 문제에 사용 및 적용되고 있다. 특히, 의류산업에 적용될 경우 딥러닝 기법을 활용한 의류 인식, 의류 검색, 자동 제품 추천 등의 심층 학습을 기반으로 한 응용이 가능하다. 이 때의 핵심모형은 합성곱 신경망을 사용한 이미지 분류이다. 합성곱 신경망은 입력이 전달되고 출력에 도달하는 과정에서 가중치와 같은 매개 변수를 학습하는 뉴런으로 구성되고, 영상 분류에 가장 적합한 방법론으로 사용된다. 기존의 의류 이미지 분류 작업에서 대부분의 분류 모형은 의류 이미지 자체 또는 전문모델 착용 의류와 같이 통제된 상황에서 촬영되는 온라인 제품 이미지를 사용하여 학습을 수행한다. 하지만 본 연구에서는 통제되지 않은 상황에서 촬영되고 사람들의 움직임과 다양한 포즈가 포함된 스트릿 패션 이미지 또는 런웨이 이미지를 분류하려는 상황을 고려하여 분류 모형을 훈련시키는 효과적인 방법을 제안한다. 이동성을 포착하는 런웨이 의류 이미지로 모형을 학습시킴으로써 분류 모형의 다양한 쿼리 이미지에 대한 적응력을 높일 수 있다. 모형 학습 시 먼저 ImageNet 데이터셋을 사용하여 pre-training 과정을 거치고 본 연구를 위해 수집된 32 개 주요 패션 브랜드의 2426개 런웨이 이미지로 구성된 데이터셋을 사용하여 fine-tuning을 수행한다. 학습 과정의 일반화를 고려해 10번의 실험을 수행하고 제안된 모형은 최종 테스트에서 67.2 %의 정확도를 기록했다. 본 연구 모형은 쿼리 이미지가 런웨이 이미지, 제품 이미지 또는 스트릿 패션 이미지가 될 수 있는 다양한 분류 환경에 적용될 수 있다. 구체적으로는 패션 위크에서 모바일 어플리케이션 서비스를 통해 브랜드 검색을 용이하게 하는 서비스를 제공하거나, 패션 잡지사의 편집 작업에 사용되어 브랜드나 스타일을 분류하고 라벨을 붙일 수 있으며, 온라인 쇼핑몰에서 아이템 정보를 제공하거나 유사한 아이템을 추천하는 등의 다양한 목적에 적용될 수 있다.

가상착의프로그램의 활성화를 위한 용어 표준화 방안 - 아바타사이징 용어 분석 - (Standardization of Terminology to Boost the Use of 3D Virtual Fitting Program - Analysis of Terminology in Avatar Sizing -)

  • The 3D virtual fitting system is a new and very efficient system replacing real fitting in apparel industry and on-line shopping. It is a win-win system for both of consumer and manufacturer which not only reduces design and production time but also resolves consumer's complaints by checking the wearing image beforehand. It is a must-have item in the future. The purpose of this study is to analyze sizing menu, terms, and current status and to figure out problems of avatar sizing programs which substitute human bodies in virtual fitting. We chose three existing outstanding programs in domestic and global market, compared and analyzed the program, manual, and terms that are used in avatar sizing, and investigated the strengths, weaknesses, problems of options and terms and finally suggested an alternative terms. The revealed problems are as follows: each program supports various avatars ranging from male to female, from child to adult, and from oriental style to western style. The image of the avatar could be changed through the options for hair style, shoes and accessories. But we found out some problems. The avatar body types are far from actual human body types, avatar sizing menus and item terms are different from program to program, and terms not yet standardized. Cooperative efforts of industry and academy on standardization of sizing menus and terms should be emphasized for the virtual fitting system to be widely used like the other computer graphic programs or word editors.

한국 해양경찰복제 디자인 연구 (A Study on a Design for the Korean Coast Guard Uniform)

  • As a follow-up of a study on design strategies to improve Korea's Korean coast guarduniforms, this study set out to propose Korean coast guard uniforms of a new concept that would meet the changing needs of the times and match the advanced technology and work environments. Three concepts of classical, nautical and techno chic were identified from the design strategies of the previous study. Using the results from a prototype show and preference survey, the investigator divided items into design, color, material, and detail and reflects demands for each of them. As a result, design was examined in four aspects of identity, acknowledgement, unity, and practicality and focused its improvement factors on design differentiated from other organizations' uniforms including ground police, segmentation of size system, adjustment of the length of upper garment to consider activity, and changes to the lines and silhouette to give out a modern image. As for color, the focus was placed on differentiated colors from other organizations' uniforms including ground police through dark blue and ocean color, change toward colors that reflect environmental characteristics, and unity in colors between the summer and winter uniform. As for material, the focus of improvement was put on elasticity, resistance against contamination, warmth retention, texture, wearing sensation, and functionality by taking into account convenience for field workers on coast guard vessels and branch offices who have much time in contact with ocean environments in order to make the materials high-grade. As for detail, structural details were added to give out a modern image such as changing the detail lines, efficiency of storage space, buttons, sleeve hems, ironing lines, and neck collars by taking into account environmental characteristics. The significance of the study lies in that it proposed a development model for large-scale uniform copy design by establishing copy design that secures functionality and is proper for an organization's social and cultural environment.
