Rapid informatization and technology advance in the 21st century has invited a new paradigm and changed many things in human life pattern. The impact of mobility seen in this digital nomadism has brought about, when it comes to clothing, a change in its unique meaning, that is, the graftage of high technology onto present nomad's life style who live moving around all the time due to the expansion of mobile environment. As the fruits of this expansion of mobile environment and technology advance in wireless telecommunication, easy-to-carry smaller sized devices such as cell phones, PDA, and MP3 players represent the present times, while the future would be an 'era of wearing' in which kinds of electronic devices and systems are integrated into clothing. Thus in this study, concept of wearable computer seen in the 21st century's digital nomadism was reviewed, and figurativeness and anesthetic value of wearable computer were discussed in association with the change in high style image resulted from technology advance and change of life style. By drawing a justice from which, value of future fashion was also prospected.
This study is designed to analyze the effects of demographic factors on children's wear brand preference and their reasons, and brand evaluations. A total of 355 usable data was collected from housewives in three metropolitan cities (Seoul, Daejeon, and Sungnam) in Korea. An ANOVA and crossing analysis were used to determine the strength(percentage) among several dependent variables. Also, regression analysis was used to examine the effects of demographic factors on each factor and component related to fashion brand evaluation. Overall, ANOVA and crossing analysis results showed that the visual attributions (variables) of clothing marked significantly higher scores than others (functional attributions). This result is noteworthy because it is opposite of common stereotypes and prejudices that selectors who first recognize visual information (aesthetic attributions) as a clothing buying criteria should be unsatisfied with them after wearing. Therefore, this research suggests that the chief reason in determining the outcome of success or failure in fashion industry depends on their trend productions with fashion image creation by reflecting the exclusive trends based on consumer's taste and wants.
In my previous research (1986), I considered a general characteristics of a visual image of products. There were really many difficulties in designing all kinds of needs in compliance with the all of their requests in order to satisfy consumers. In addition, under the characteristics of goods, the consumers seem to choose an opti$$\mu$ com\ulcornerbinations after considering the combinations of trade-off. Therefore, this study that selected a watch as an object on this study was analyzed a Design Assessment Structure under the trade-off. As a result of this research: First, an effect of a negative superiority appeared under the trade-off condition among ifems when consumers purchased products. Second, these four items were extracted from the eight items which were suggested in this study through an analysis of factors. Third, the three courses were conformed when a consumer purchased a watch. Fourth, in the all kinds of goods, the price which was considered as an important point was not important item ina relation to a purchasing behavior. According to the concomitant effects, we figured out these four items, that is, form, thickness, readability and wearing and its have to be considered a lot when designing a watch.
The purpose of this study is to examine symbolic meanings of costumes shown by portraits of King Henry VIII and use them as basic data for research on costume design of historical dramas in the Renaissance or on King Henry VIII's costume. This study attempted analysis of symbolic meanings from the paintings-related various domestic and overseas literatures, preliminary study paper, and web sites etc. The symbolic meanings expressed by the portraits of King Henry VIII are characterized by authority, innovation performance, authority, masculinity, innovation performance, artistic taste, intellectual charm, intrepidity and benevolence. Especially, the portraits of King Henry VIII symbolized his masculine beauty by emphasizing sexual attractiveness that cannot be seen in portraits of other kings through broad shoulders and exaggerated codpiece which are the zenith of masculine beauty during the Renaissance age. Through the image of King Henry VIII which was painted with jester or barber surgeons, his characteristic and open mind thinking highly of the technique and human life was also expressed. In the portrait of King Henry VIII, various images set in knights' tournament, playing a musical instrument and reading a book as well as the image of wearing a parliament costume were shown, highlighting King Henry VIII as a person good at both literary and martial arts with open and innovative personality than any other kings in history.
The purpose of this essay is to know the expressed form and color and also to examine the inner symbolic meaning of the movie "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance" by producer Chan-Wook Park. In the movie, the main character Geumja has double personality, having both images of a wicked woman and a woman saint, and she showed the clothing of both good and evil. For example, while she was in prison, her prisoner uniform while she was taking care of her inmates, her pajama which is the symbol of innocence when she was atoning and praying, Geumja's appearance wasn't fabulous when she was wearing baker's cloth that symbolize pure inside. But in contrast, Geumja who was released from prison planned and execute vengeance, dress colorful dress and primary color make-ups. Blue color coat with gloomy mood, black leather coat with the image of female warrior, and the slip with intensive image and etc express Geumja's will of revenge. Like this, depend on the psychology of main character Geumja, it's easy to recognize the change of clothing and color, and it's possible to understand the symbolic meaning in it.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of perceiver's gender, clothing, and hairstyle on the visual evaluation of men's professionalism and preference. A quasi-experimental method by questionnaire was used. The experimental design was a $2\times8\times2$ (perceiver's gender $\times$ clothing $\times$ hairstyle) factorial design by 3 independent variables. The stimuli were 16 photographs of a man in his twenties. The upper clothing of the man included tailored collar jackets in beige and dark blue colors, and jumpers and sweaters in beige, dark blue, and red colors. The lower clothing of the men included jean pants. Two types of the hairstyles included short hair and medium length hair. The subjects were 208 men and 223 women in Seoul, Korea. Wearing a beige sweater with jean pants was evaluated high in intellectual image, a red jumper was perceived low in intellectual image, and a beige tailored collar jacket was evaluated low in potent image. Men's short hairstyle was evaluated to be more professional than the medium length hair. Male perceivers liked short hair more than medium length hair, but female perceivers evaluated both hairstyles similarly. In the case of women, the preferences of tailored collared jacket and soutien collared jumper were similar, but jumper was preferred to jacket in the case of men. Male perceivers showed more positive feedback towards jean pants with soutien collared jumper than jeans with tailored collared jacket, which indicated that men showed more conservative attitude towards the outfit than women. The man who was wearing a jumper with short hair was evaluated positively and the man who was wearing a jacket with medium length hair was evaluated negatively when the attires were coordinated with jean pants. In conclusion, medium length hairstyle with a beige jacket and short hairstyle with a red sweater were evaluated as professional image; and the results indicated that clothing and hairstyle interact with each other and influence the evaluation of professionalism.
The study analyzed the characteristic of school uniform, focusing on Ewha Woman's University of Seoul, reflected present trend as well as characteristic and symbol of school and developed uniform design for advertising Ewha Woman's University. The purpose of this study is to propose uniform that can be discriminated from that of other university and increase advertisement effect with mental superiority and pride in university by trying uniform design development, which can provide school and student with satisfaction, and reflecting present trend as well as characteristic and symbol of school. The study is meaningful because it can be basic materials for various uniform designs, connecting function, symbol and trend to uniform development. The uniform for school advertisement was manufactured in a way to reflect characteristic and image of school, escape from fixed idea preferring traditional design in the past and reflect trend. It is expected that the uniform created with symbolic image of school will give high advertisement effect and improve school image by providing student with sense of coherence and discriminated feeling in various events and the meeting with other school students. Moreover, the student wearing the uniform with splendid design will feel mental superiority and have pride in school at the same time. In conclusion, the uniform reflecting trend is proper for the uniform of advertisement helper representing school as long as it can reflect characteristic and image of school. It will be also helpful for developing wider design and more splendid uniform because the study can create the motive to apply trend to other uniform that does not adopt trend.
Each and everything named fashion together with clothes were limited in the boundary of women and men's wear has been slow and narrow in changing speed compared to women's, even there are some differences in accordance time. But maintaining the basic features, men's wear in the latter 20th century has undergone diverse change in the part of materials such as various synthetic fiber, glass, metal, artificial leather and the see-through fabric able to seeing the body wearing the clothes. Therefore, the aim and definition of this study is to present the systematic framework giving help to develop men's wear design newer and more various by considering moulding of materials which existing men's wear could not show up and by grasping material trend of men's clothes in 1990s. The results of the study were summarized as follows : (1) Material containing lustering is categorized as Velvet, Silk, Lustering materials by synthetic fiber and Lustering materials by additional substance. The Velvet generally acknowledged having something to feel womanly image shows the bisexual character coexisting feature of men and women after grafting with men'fashion. The Silk was endowed the role as means of pleasure to express beyond boundary of sex breaking the existing consciousness which men should wear male clothes, not considering differences between men and women. The lustering made by synthetic fiber expressed modern sensitivity aesthetically to the suit. The lustering materials made by additional substance is seen mixed masculine character with womanly character. (2) See-through materials are acknowledged as decadence beauty caused by expanding subjective awareness in beauty. (3) Materials by the sorts of Net is categorized as Lace, Knit The Lace expression seemed to emphases the human liberation of men and women and the humanity from liberation of subjecthood. The Knit can be felt both woman's image and man's image as bisexual image, not raising only one side sex. (4) Elastic materials offered the opportunity to approve exposure in a time when exposure of men's body was not granted ethically. (5) Leather was shown as indication of social status and inferiority and expression of collective resistance against sexual stagnation of men and women.

The purpose of this study provides a high consumer-oriented wedding dress on the consumer and offering the consumer-oriented product and provide a basis data to develop a wedding shops so it can stable and manage of effective marketing. Wedding shop for a survey of consumer preference, and based on this wedding dress designed and made. The results are summarized as follows. First, when wearing wedding dresses and "graceful and feminine" image that seek to pursue an image that showed the highest response, "simple and stylish", "cute and vivid" image was in order. In the survey of wedding dress preference, lace is preferred, in tone of color white is preferred by and large. In silhouette, A-line is preferred most, in neckline, exposure of the shoulder, in sleeve length, sleeveless, in decoration, beads. Second, on the basis of these results, depending on the image to pursue the design, wedding was made of 3 creations. The work I is a target of the early 20s, the concept "simple and stylish", and A-line is adopted in silhouette focusing on modern simplicity, soft satin material used of high class. The work II is a target of the late 20s, the concept "cut and vivid", and fit-and-flare made of many folded tulle mesh material. The work ill is a target of the 30s overall, the concept "graceful and feminine", and high-waist- empire-line is adopted in silhouette, splendid lace material used, is of the gorgeous and mature beauty.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the image of nurses portrayed in the internet photographs. Methods: A total of 184 photographs were extracted through the Google portal site using a search term, 'nurse'. Based on the findings of previous studies, a content analysis was conducted with three categories: appearance characteristics, photographic scene, and photographic source. Results: The result revealed that in the photos of appearance characteristics, 237 (98.3%) out of 241 nurses had a normal or less frame, 235 (97.5%) were well-groomed, and 103 (42.7%) wore pants. In addition, 51 (21.2%) wore a cap (21.2%) and 12.0% were male. In the photographic scene, 69 (37.5%) portrayed nursing activities and 36 (19.6%) suggestiveness. In the suggestive photos, all of nurses were female (${\chi}^2=7.63$, p=.021) and they were more likely to have small frames (${\chi}^2=48.40$, p<.001) and wear caps (${\chi}^2=113.54$, p<.001) and skirts (${\chi}^2=39.96$, p<.001). Conclusion: This study showed that the photographs of the nurses wearing a cap and expressing the nurse as a sexual object still appeared. There is a need for a systematic image enhancement strategy so that actual images of nurses can be projected on the internet photographs.
