The vehicle lubricant occupies upto 35% in a total lubricant market and engine oil occupies upto 77% in the vehicle lubricant market in Korea. A suitable quality management of the circulating engine oil is necessary for driver and engine protection. But, KS and synthetic engine oil products (involved over 30% synthetic oil) are exempt to any quality management under Petroleum and Alternative Fuel Business Act. It is also known that synthetic oils such as PAO (poly alpha olefin) have excellent properties and performance like anti-wear, varnish control and oxidation stability than those of mineral oils. For this reason, PAO has been used for an engine oil, rotary screw and reciprocating compressor in addition to heavy duty and other extreme service applications. In this study, our research group analyzed the chromatogram pattern for the mineral oil, PAO and mineral oil involved a typical ratio of PAO using SIMDIST (simulated distillation). In the SIMDIST chromatogram, the mineral oil showed a broad peak, while PAO showed a sharp typical peak. Also the oil with a large viscosity grade exhibited a long retention time due to the heavy molecular weight and high boiling point. In particular, the blended mineral oil with 20% PAO sample showed a distinctly different pattern compared to that of using the conventional mineral oil. For monitoring PAO contents in distributing engine oils, we analyzed the SIMDIST for 27 kinds of engine oils which were popularly sold in Korea. The analytic results indicate that all kinds of engine oils showed that PAO contents were below 20% in engine oil products. Moreover, the PAO titled product was found to have a small amount of PAO. Thus, we conclude that the related laws for the proper quality management of synthetic oils are needed to be established.

In a case of multiple posterior teeth loss, antagonistic teeth extrude to the edentulous space and compensatory occlusion on the remained anterior teeth leads to occlusal trauma. Extrusion of antagonistic teeth breaks down occlusion plane and loss of posterior support bring about severe wear of remained teeth. In this situation, it is needed to restore remained teeth and edentulous space by increasing vertical dimension to obtain prosthodontic rehabilitation space and to correct occlusion plane. In this case report, the patient had a masticatory problem with loss of posterior teeth support and an esthetic problem of shortened anterior teeth. Before the tooth preparation for the prosthodontic restoration, the patient used removable device for 2 months to increase vertical dimension reversibly. After that, he got provisional fixed restoration with irreversible tooth reduction and used it for 3 months. It had spent 5 month to evaluate the adaptation state on final restoration with incresed vertical dimension. The increasing amount was 3 mm, which was relatively in less degree and masticatory system adapted to the increased vertical dimension without any pathologic changes. Final restoration was made to have equal-intensity contacts on all teeth in a verifiable centric relations and immediate disclusion of all posterior contacts the moment the mandible moves in any direction from centric relation. In addition, metal occlusion surface on posterior teeth was applied to prevent excessive muscle activation, occlusal trauma and the porcelain fracture.

Increase in the number of older people due to demographic changes poses great challenges to the social healthcare systems both in the Western and as well as in the Eastern countries. Support for older people by formal care givers leads to enormous temporal and personal efforts. Therefore, one of the most important goals is to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of today's care. This can be achieved by the use of assistive technologies. These technologies are able to increase the safety of patients or to reduce the time needed for tasks that do not relate to direct interaction between the care giver and the patient. Motivated by this goal, this contribution focuses on applications of acoustic technologies to support users and care givers in ambient assisted living (AAL) scenarios. Acoustic sensors are small, unobtrusive and can be added to already existing care or living environments easily. The information gathered by the acoustic sensors can be analyzed to calculate the position of the user by localization and the context by detection and classification of acoustic events in the captured acoustic signal. By doing this, possibly dangerous situations like falls, screams or an increased amount of coughs can be detected and appropriate actions can be initialized by an intelligent autonomous system for the acoustic monitoring of older persons. The proposed system is able to reduce the false alarm rate compared to other existing and commercially available approaches that basically rely only on the acoustic level. This is due to the fact that it explicitly distinguishes between the various acoustic events and provides information on the type of emergency that has taken place. Furthermore, the position of the acoustic event can be determined as contextual information by the system that uses only the acoustic signal. By this, the position of the user is known even if she or he does not wear a localization device such as a radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag.
In the present, external environmental factors affect human health. In particular, the most important issue is fine dust in these days. Because fine dust is inhaled through the human respiratory system is known to be harmful to health. Tunnels for cars and people can also be easily seen around us. This study, the amount of scattering radiation was measured for walkable tunnels about dust. For the measurement method, dust and radiation dose in the tunnel were measured on good weather (fine dust level: 0 ~ 30 ㎍/㎥) and normal day (fine dust level: 0 ~ 80 ㎍/㎥). The measurement resulted in an increase of 10~20 % of dust in the center of the tunnel on a good weather day and an increase of 20~30 % of dust in the center of the tunnel on normal weather. On the other hand, the results of tunnel measurement of radiation dose increased by 10~20 % at the center of the tunnel non-depending on the weather. As a result, pedestrians should pay attention to scattering dust and scattered radiation while moving through the tunnel. Therefore, it is recommended to wear a filter mask of PM2.5 or less during frequent tunnel walking.
This study is to figure out the amount of primary X-ray generated in SID 50cm, 1m, and 2m penetrating protective aprons in X-ray radiography for hands, skull, and lumbar spine. Results are as follows: Firstly, the exposure dose of primary X-ray which is low such as that of hand X-ray may be reduced by 270 times if protective aprons are worn, but it still slightly penetrates 0.3mm thick Pb protective aprons at SID 50cm, 1m, and 2m. Secondly, the exposure dose of primary X-ray which is moderate such as that of skull X-ray may be reduced by 22 times if protective aprons are worn, but it still fairly penetrates 0.3mm thick Pb protective aprons at SID 50cm, 1m, and 2m. Thirdly, the exposure dose of primary X-ray which is very high such as that of lumbar spine X-ray may be reduced by 13 times if protective aprons are worn, but it still penetrates a lot 0.3mm thick Pb protective aprons at SID 50cm, 1m, and 2m. Therefore, people in X-ray room should not only wear protective aprons at any spaces that the primary X-ray can reach, but also need to stand behind the thick Pb shield to protect the body if it is inevitable to stay in the room.
Distal-extension removable partial dentures have long been implicated in the increase in mobility and the destruction of the supporting structures of the primary abutment teeth. Various clasping systems have traditionally been used to retain distal extension removable partial dentures, and other designs have been proposed to minimize torquing forces on the abutment teeth. Most recent studies investigating the effects of removable partial dentures on abutment teeth have been performed in it laboratory setting. Results obtained from in vitro research have given dentists insight into removable partial denture design, but laboratory test model cannot be constructed that simulates actual functional or parafunctiona1 movements and forces. The purpose of this study was to clinically evaluate the degree of tooth mobility produced by two clasping systems (suprabulge type and infrabulge type) used for distal extension removable partial dentures. Akers clasp and R.P.I. system were selected for the evaluation, and four patients required a distal extension removable partial denture on the mandibular arch were selected for participation in the study. Two partial dentures were constructed in the same condition expect the design of clasp. All abutments in the study were mandibular first or second premolars. Measurements of mobility were made with a research tool designed by $M\"{u}hlemann$. This instrument, periodontometer, measures tooth mobility in the mouth by means of a dial gauge accurated to 0.01mm when the tooth is stressed with a force meter. Lingual and buccal deflection of abutment tooth was measured using buccal and lingual pressure. The amount of force applied was 500gm. Tooth mobility tests were made at four key stages; 1. Before insertion of the first removable partial denture, baseline mobility was establsihed. 2. After wearing of the first prosthesis, measurement was made at weekly intervals for 4 weeks. 3. The removable partial denture was then taken from the patient, and tooth mobility was measured again at weekly intervals until the patient's established baseline mobility had returned. 4. The second prosthesis of different clasp design was worn for a month and evaluated in the same manner as the first. The sequence of placement of clasping system was alternated between patients. The following results were obtained from this study; 1. The mobility of abutment tooth increased during the initial stage of wear and returned to baseline mobility after removal of removable partial dentures. 2. The mobility of abutment tooth showed no difference between Akers clasp and I-bar clasp during the 4-week test period. 3. All teeth tested showed greater mobility toward the buccal than the lingual direction.

The development of the environment-friendly tire that meets the standard requirements according to tire labeling system can be improved through using highly homogeneous silica immobilized zinc oxide nanoparticles. In this study, a considerable amount of nanoporous silica was essentially added into nano zinc oxide to improve the physiochemical properties of the formed composite. The introduction of nanoporous silica materials in the composite facilitates the improvement of the wear-resistance and increases the elasticity of the tread. Therefore, the introduction of nanoporous silica can replace carbon black as filler in the formation of composites with desirable properties for conventional green tire. Herein, mesoporous silica immobilized zinc oxide nanoparticle with desirable properties for rubber compounds was investigated. Composites with homogeneous dispersion were obtained in the absence of dispersants. The dispersion stability was controlled through varying the molar ratio, ageing time and mixing order of the reactants. A superior dispersion was achieved in the sample obtained using 0.03 mol of zinc precursor as it had the smallest grain size (50.5 nm) and then immobilized in silica aged for 10 days. Moreover, the specific surface area of this sample was the highest ($649m^2/g$).

During EPB TBM tunnelling, an appropriate application of additives such as foam and polymer is an essential factor to secure the stability of TBM as well as tunnelling performance. From the '90s, there have been many studies on the optimal injection of additives worldwidely contrary to the domestic situation. Therefore, in this paper, the foam, which is widely adopted for soil conditioning, was selected as an additive in order to investigate the effect of foam injection on TBM performance through a series of laboratory excavation tests. The excavation experiments were carried out on artificial sandy soil specimens with consideration of the variance of FIR (Foam Injection Ratio), FER (Foam Expansion Ratio) and $C_f$ (Surfactant Concentration), which indicate the amount and quality of the foam. During the tests, torque values were measured, and the workability of conditioned soil was evaluated by comparing the slump values of muck after each experiment. In addition, a weight loss of the replaceable aluminum cutter bits installed on the blade was measured to estimate the degree of abrasion. Finally, the foam injection ratio for the optimal TBM excavation for the typical soil specimen was determined by comparing the measured torque, slump value and abrasion. Note that the foam injection conditions satisfying the appropriate level of machine load, mechanical wear and workability are essential in the EPB TBM operational design.
The present study explored consumer's perception and preference on providing information of fashion products by using QR code and suggested the possibility for consumer-to-consumer and consumer-to-company connection. A survey was conducted on males and females in their 20s-a population among whom the rate of smart phone penetration is higher than in any other age group and who tend to exchange information online. The results showed that consumers are dissatisfied with the amount of information, terms of instructions, and ambiguous washing symbols currently provided. Therefore, the study identified the need for better methods of providing information and found that QR code, which is able to deliver high-quality information on fashion products, can be an efficient alternative. Moreover, respondents felt the need for detailed washing instructions, information on handling, and functionality of material on high-involvement fashion products such as outdoor, padding, suit, and underwear worn next to the skin. They also desire styling tips or purchasing information such as SNS OOTD (Outfit Of The Day) utilizing the product, other products that may go well with the one purchased, and similar products on casual wear and coat used on a daily basis. Therefore, QR code used as a link to information web pages or a social network can help consumers to satisfy information needs and to use the products effectively.

Image analyses for sheared joint specimens are performed to study asperity degradation characteristics with respect to the roughness mobilization of rock joints. Four different types of joint specimens, which are made of high-strength gypsum materials, are prepared by replicating the three-dimensional roughness of rock joints. About twenty jointed rock shear tests are performed at various normal stress levels. The characteristic and scale of asperity degradation on the sheared joint specimens are analyzed using the digital image analysis technique. The results show that the asperity degradation characteristic mainly depends on the normal stress level and can be defined by asperity failure and wear. The asperity degradation develops significantly around the peak shear displacement and the average amount of degraded asperities remains constant with further displacement because of new degradation of small scale asperities. The shear strength results using high-strength gypsum materials can not fully represent physical properties of each mineral particles of asperities on the natural rock joint surface. However the results of this quantitative estimation for the relationship between the peak shear displacement and the asperity degradation suggest that the characterization of asperity degradation provides an important insight into mechanical characteristics and shear models of rock joints.
