  • We proposed a semi-blind digital image watermarking technique for copyright protection. The proposed algorithm embedded a binary sequence watermark into significant wavelet coefficients by using a quantization method. The main idea of the quantization method was to quantize a middle coefficient of the triplet of a significant wavelet coefficient according to the watermark's value. Unlike an existing algorithm, which used a random location table to find a coefficient in which the watermark bit will be embedded: the proposed algorithm used quad-tree decomposition to find a significant wavelet coefficient for embedding. For watermark detection, an original host image was not required. Thanks to the usage of significant wavelet coefficients, the proposed algorithm improved the correlation value, up to 0.43, in comparison with the existing algorithm.

  • Thedenoising of a natural image corrupted by Gaussian noise is a long established problem in signal or image processing. Today the research is focus on the wavelet domain, especially using the wavelet threshold method. In this paper, a waveletbased image denoising modified adaptive thresholding method is proposed. The proposed method computes thethreshold adaptively based on the scale level and adaptively estimates wavelet coefficients by using a modified thresholding function that considers the dependency between the parent coefficient and child coefficient and the soft thresholding function at different scales. Experimental results show that the proposed method provides high peak signal-to-noise ratio results and preserves the detailed information of the original image well, resulting in a superior quality image.

  • As a wavelet transform which is presented as a new technique of signal processing field has time and frequency localization capabilities, it's possible for multiresolution analysis as well as easy to analyze various signal. So it is being applied in many fields recently. And when two wavelet base were designed to form Hilbert transform pair, wavelet pair show superior performance than the existing DWT(discrete wavelet transform) in data detection of pulse type. Therefore in this paper, we detected position of impulse noise by using two dyadic wavelet base which is designed by truncated coefficient vector.

  • The wavelet transform pair used simultaneously when two wavelets are designed to form an approximate Hilbert transform pair provide excellent property than present DWT(discrete wavelet transform), especially in field that detect wide-band signals like pulse and increase the bit rate at the same bandwidth. In this paper, the two dyadic wavelet bases which form an approximate Hilbert transform pair were designed, and flat delay filter which has the truncated coefficient vector is used in order that the two filters can form Hilbert transform relation in the process of design.

  • In this paper, the wavelet image coder, that can encode the bit-level information of wavelet coefficients, is proposed. The proposed coder is used the modified EZW algorithm and significant coefficient array that has bit level information of the wavelet coefficients to reduce the memory requirement in coding process. The significant coefficient array is two dimensional data structure that has bit level information of the wavelet coefficients. The proposed algorithm performs the coding of the significance coefficients and coding of bit level information of wavelet coefficients at a time by using the significant coefficient array. Experimental results show a better or similar performance of the proposed method when compared with conventional embedded wavelet coding algorithm. Especially, the proposed algorithm performs stably without image distortion at various bit rates with minimum memory usage by using the significant coefficient array.

  • Recently efficient image coding using zerotree have been proposed. In these methods, the locations of nonzero wavelet coefficient are enrolled with a tree structure, called zerotree, which ran exploit the self-similarity of the wavelet pyramid decomposition across different scales. These are very especially in low bit rate image coding. In this paper, two zerotree image rolling algorithm, EZW and SPHIT are briefly introduced, and a new zerotree searching scheme is proposed to emphasize the significance of a wavelet coefficient by its orientation as well as its scale.

  • Accurately extracting the axle distribution information of a passing vehicle from bridge dynamic responses experiences a key and challenging step in non-pavement bridge weigh-in-motion (BWIM). In this article, the wavelet transformation is adopted and the wavelet coefficient curve is used as a substitute for dynamic response. The driving frequency is introduced and expanded to multi-axle vehicle, and the wavelet coefficient curve on specific scale corresponding to the driving frequency is confirmed to contain obvious axle information. On this basis, an automatic method for axle distribution information identification is proposed. The specific wavelet scale can be obtained through iterative computing, and the false peaks due to bridge vibration can be eliminated through cross-correlation analysis of the wavelet coefficients of two measure points. The integrand function that corresponds to the maximum value of the cross-correlation function is used to identify the peaks caused by axles. A numerical application of the proposed axle information identification method is carried out. Numerical results demonstrate that this method acquires precise axle information from the responses of an axle-insensitive structure (e.g., girder) and decreases the requirement of sensitivity structure of BWIM. Finally, an experimental study on a full-scale simply supported bridge is also conducted to verify the effectiveness of this method.

  • In this paper, an effective image restoration using Genetic Algorithm(GA) in wavelet transform region is proposed. First, a wavelet transform is used for decomposition of a blurred image with white Gaussian noise as a preprocessing of the proposed method. The wavelet transform decomposes a degraded image into a wavelet subband coefficient planes. In this wavelet transformed subband coefficient planes, three highest subbands is composed entirely of noise elements on a degraded image. So, these subbands are removed. And remained subbands except for the lowest subband are individually applied to GA. For the performance evaluation, the proposed method is compared with a conventional single GA algorithm and a conventional hybrid method of wavelet transform and GA for a Lenna image and a boat image. As an experimental result, the proposed algorithm is prior to a conventional methods as each PSNR 3.4dB, 1.3dB.

  • In this paper suggest for methods disease region feature extraction of medical image using wavelet. In the preprocessing, the shape informations of medical image are selected by performing the discrete wavelet transform(DWT) with four level coefficient matrix. In this approach, based on the characteristics of the coefficient matrix, 96 feature parameters are calculated as follows: Firstly. obtaining 32 feature parameters which have the characteristics of low frequency from the parameters according to the horizontal high frequency are calculated from the coefficient matrix of horizontal high frequency. In the third place, 16 vertical feature parameters are also calculated using the same kind of procedure with respect to the vertical high frequency. Finally, 32 feature parameters of diagonal high frequency are obtained from the coefficient matrix of diagonal high frequency. Consequently, 96 feature aprameters extracted. Using suggest algorithm in this paper will, implamentation can automatic recognition system, increasing efficiency of picture achieve communication system.
