The carbody structure of a high speed train passing through a tunnel is subjected to pressure fluctuation. Fatigue strength of the carbody structure against the fluctuating pressure loading should be proved in the design stage for safety. In this study, to get the useful information on the pressure fluctuation in the tunnel, measurement has been conducted during test running of KHST on the high speed line for two years. The measured results were analyzed and arranged to be used for carbody design. A prediction method for the magnitude and frequency of pressure change was proposed and the propagating characteristics of pressure wave was investigated. By statistical analysis for the measured results, a pressure loading spectrum for the high speed train was given. The proposed method can also be used to estimate the pressure loading spectrum for new high speed line at design stage combined with the results of train performance simulation.

The waveform coding are concerned with simply preserving the wave shape of speech signal through a redundancy reduction process. In the case of speech synthesis, the wave form coding with high quality are mainly used to the synthesis by analysis. However, because the parameters of this coding are not classified as either excitation and vocal tract parameters, it is difficult to applying the waveform coding to the synthesis by rule. In this paper, we proposed a new pitch alteration method that can change the pitch period in waveform coding by using scaling the time-axis and compensating the spectrum. This is a time-frequency domain method that is preserved in the phase components of the waveform and that has a little spectrum distortion with 2.5% and less for 50% pitch change.

This study gives the vertical motion analysis due to changes in Submerged shape of Multi-Purpose Small Floating Body in irregular waves using the commercial code(MAXSURF v.20) based on the Panel method. To verify the commercial code prior to the analysis, we guarantees the reliability of this paper's results using the commercial code by comparing with the results of experimental results on Catamaran. The anlysis conditions are ITTC wave spectrum, each encounter angle. Finally, we analyze the result of ship's response spectra for vertical motions.
The development of performance-based design methodologies requires a reasonable definition of a displacement-response spectrum. Although ground motions are known to be significantly affected by the resonant-like amplification behavior caused by multiple wave reflections within the surface soil, such a soil-resonance effect is seldom explicitly considered in current-displacement spectral models. In this study, an analytical approach is developed for the construction of displacement-response spectra by considering the soil-resonance effect. For this purpose, a simple and rational equation is proposed for the response spectral ratio at the site fundamental period (SRTg) to represent the soil-resonance effect based on wave multiple reflection theory. In addition, a bilinear model is adopted to construct the soil displacement-response spectra. The proposed model is verified by comparing its results with those obtained from actual observations and SHAKE analyses. The results show that the proposed model can lead to very good estimations of SRTg for harmonic incident seismic waves and lead to reasonable estimations of SRTg and soil displacement-response spectra for earthquakes with a relatively large magnitude, which are generally considered for seismic design, particularly in high-seismicity regions.

We surveyed the international and national spectrum & technical standardization trends of extremely adaptive frequency bands $57\sim64GHz$ that can provide 1 Gbps bit-rate ultra broadband service in above 30 GHz millimeter waves, and analyzed service scenarios and the characteristics of these bands, As a result of these analysises, 1 Gbps ASK channel bandwidth needs 2.5 GHz and total bandwidth calculated 7 GHz for dual FDD. finally, we proposed the nationally suitable allocation plan of millimeter wave bands $57\sim64GHz$.

This paper dealt with the radiated electromagnetic wave detection of partial discharge (PD) in oil for insulation diagnostics of oil-immersed transformers. Three types of electrode system were fabricated to simulate the insulation defects that could occur in oil-immersed transformers. Frequency components of radiated electromagnetic wave in oil was measured by broadband bi-conical antennas of 300 MHz~2 GHz and a spectrum analyzer of 9 kHz~3 GHz. Frequency component of electromagnetic waves from PD in oil were highly distributed at 500 MHz. From the result, a narrow-band monopole antenna with the center frequency of 500 MHz was fabricated. We could detect PD signal in insulation oil without an influence of external noise by a measurement system which consists of the prototype monopole antenna, a LNA (Low Noise Amplifier), an oscilloscope and a spectrum analyzer.

The guided wave technique is commonly used in structural health monitoring as the guided waves can propagate far in the structures without much energy loss. The guided waves are conventionally generated by the surface-mounted piezoelectric wafer active sensor (PWAS). However, there is still lack of understanding of the wave propagation in layered structures, especially in structures made of anisotropic materials such as carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) composites. In this paper, the Rayleigh-Lamb wave strain tuning curves in a PWAS-mounted unidirectional CFRP plate are analytically derived using the normal mode expansion (NME) method. The excitation frequency spectrum is then multiplied by the tuning curves to calculate the frequency response spectrum. The corresponding time domain responses are obtained through the inverse Fourier transform. The theoretical calculations are validated through finite element analysis and an experimental study. The PWAS responses under the free, debonded and bonded CFRP conditions are investigated and compared. The results demonstrate that the amplitude and travelling time of wave packet can be used to evaluate the CFRP bonding conditions. The method can work on a baseline-free manner.
Three ground models are analyzed using a 1g shaking table and laminar shear box (LSB) to investigate the impact of the ground structure on seismic wave amplification during earthquakes. Multi-layer horizontal, embankment, and basin ground models are selected for this investigation, with each model being divided into dense and loose ground layers, Accelerometers are installed during the construction of each ground model to capture any seismic wave amplification owing th the propagation of an artificial seismic wave, sine wave sweep, and 10-Hz sine wave through a given ground model. The amplification of the tested seismic waves is analyzed using the observed peak ground acceleration and spectrum acceleration. The observed acceleration amplification in the multi-layer horizontal ground model is significantly higher the seismic waves that propagated across the dense ground-loose ground boundary compared with those that only propagated through the dense ground. Furthermore, the observed acceleration amplification gradually increases in the central part of the multi-layer embankment and basin models for the seismic waves that propagated across the dense ground-loose ground boundary.

In this study, fundamental research is conducted for the generation technique and analysis of multi-directional irregular waves in the Deep Ocean Engineering Basin (DOEB). A three-dimensional boundary element method-based numerical tank is implemented to perform wave generation simulations, and directional spectrum estimation is carried out using the results of simulations. The wave generation technique of the Snake type wave maker, generating multi-directional irregular waves, is implemented using the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and Inverse Fast Fourier Transform (IFFT) algorithms. The wave generation technique is validated by comparing the wave spectrum from simulations and experiments. A Maximum Likelihood Method (MLM) based estimation code is developed for estimating the directional wave spectra. The multi-directional irregular waves are tested in the DOEB and the numerical tank, and directional wave spectra obtained from two methodologies are estimated and compared. A correction procedure for the directional distribution of multi-directional waves is established, and the possibility of correcting the directional spreading function using the numerical tank is validated.
A two-dimensional metal hole array (2DMHA) structure is fabricated by conventional photo-lithography and electron beam evaporation. The transmittance of the 2DMHA is measured at long wave infrared (LWIR) wavelengths (${\lambda}{\sim}10$ to $24{\mu}m$). The 2DMHA sample shows transmittance of 70 and 67% at $15.4{\mu}m$ due to plasmonic resonance with perforated silver and gold thin films, respectively, under surface normal illumination at LWIR wavelengths. The measured infrared spectrum is separated into two peaks when the size of the hole becomes larger than a half-pitch of the hole array. Six degenerated plasmon modes (1,0) at the metal/Si surface split to three modes at an incident beam angle of $45^{\circ}$ with respect to the surface normal direction, and wavelength shifts of the transmitted spectrum are observed in a red shift and blue shift at the same time.
