수발포 기술을 적용한 열가소성 고무 Weatherstrip 특성 (Characteristics of Thermoplastic Vulcanizate Weatherstrip Prepared by Water-Foaming Technique)

  • 에틸렌-프로필렌 디엔 고무 (EPDM)와 같은 열경화성 탄성체는 자동차의 스폰지 웨더스트립 (sponge weatherstrip)에 적용되는 주 재료이다. 그러나 열경화성 탄성체의 특성 때문에 환경적인 문제가 야기된다. 더구나 EPDM 재료의 weatherstrip 제조 시 배합, 가류와 같은 여러 생산 공정을 거쳐야 함으로 생산 단계별 품질산포가 크고 제품의 형상 유지가 어려워 품질의 안정성이 떨어진다. 따라서 재활용과 획기적인 제조기술 그리고 수발포를 할 수 있는 새로운 열가소성 가황체 (TPV)재료 개발로 종래의 EPDM 웨드스트립 제조 문제들을 개선이 필요하게 되었다. 본 연구에서는 TPV 수발포 공정에서의 발포체의 밀도와 구조적인 면을 물의 양과 발포 온도 등의 가공 조건들의 영향을 수행하여 TPV가 수발포로서 균일한 발포체를 얻을 수 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 연구결과 EPDM 웨더스트립의 많은 재활용이 곤란한 문제점 등을 해결할 수 있고, 이 새로운 발포 기술은 고무산업에 돌파구를 만들어 나갈 것으로 기대된다.

수직지하 흐름형 습지에서 거품발생이 질소제거에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Unexpected Foaming Incident on Nitrogen Removal in a Vertical Subsurface Wetland)

  • 합성섬유를 주 여재로 충진한 실험실 규모의 수직 지하흐름형 습지를 제작하여 인공축산단지 강우유출수 처리시험을 수행하였다. 3개의 습지에 대하여 수리학적 체류시간은 각각 2, 4, 8일 로 운전하였으며 매일 1회씩 내부순환을 실시하였다. 운전기간 동안에 매일 일반적인 수질인자에 대하여 모니터링을 실시하였으며 갑자기 HRT에 따라 순차적으로 거품이 발생되면서 처리수의 COD가 증가하는 현상이 관찰되었다. 따라서 연구의 방향을 거품의 발생원인을 분석하는데 초점을 맞추게 되었으며 거품의 출처 및 유기물질 농도의 증가는 습지에 충진한 폴리프로필렌 합성섬유가 분해되면서 방출된 것으로 분석되었다. 거품의 발생 및 유기물질의 농도증가는 질소제거의 효율증가와 밀접한 관련이 있었으며 2가지의 중요한 역할을 수행한 것으로 밝혀졌다. 먼저 거품은 습지내부에서 질산화에 필요한 산소를 억류하면서(hold-up) 질산화를 촉진시키며 거품에 내재된 유기물질은 탈질에 필요한 탄소원으로 작용한 것으로 판단된다. 따라서 거품발생시기와 질소제거효율이 증가한 시기가 일치한 것으로 보인다. 이후에 거품문제가 사라지면서 질소제거 수준은 서서히 감소하여 이전의 거품이 없던 시기로 회귀하였다.

Characteristics of White Water from Enzyme Deinking process for ONP at Low Alkalinity

  • Old newspaper was deinked using commercial cellulolytic enzymes and a surfactant complex at low alkalinity. The properties of the deinked pulp(DIP) were evaluated and the suspended solids content, cationic demand, turbidity, and chemical oxygen demand(COD) of the process water were measured. The results can summarized as follows, 1. The brightness and yield of the DIP were improved using enzymatic surfactant complex deinking. 2. The amount of foaming during deinking with the enzyme surfactant complex was higher than that with synthetic surfactant deinking. However, it was not sufficient to cause process problem. 3. The pH and turbidity of the white water from deinking with the enzyme surfactant complex were similar to those of the white water from surfactant deinking. 4. The suspended solids content, cationic demand, and COD of the white water from deinking with the enzyme surfactant complex were improved compared to those of the white water from surfactant deinking.

1,3-디옥산을 함유한 분해성 계면활성제의 합성의 및 계면 특성 (Synthesis of Surface Active Properties of Destructible Surfactants with 1,3-Dioxane)

  • In acid-catalyzed acetal cyclization of long aliphatic aldehydes($R=n-C_7H_{15}$ ; $n-C_9H_{19}$ ; $n-C_{11}H_{23}$) with 1,1,1-tris(hydroxymethyl)propane, 2-alkyl-5-hydroxymethyl-5-ethyl-1,3-dioxanes were obtained. The final products, sodium 2-alkyl-5-(sulfonatedpropylethermethyl)-5-ethyl-1,3-propanesultion in the presence of sodium hydride. These compounds were a new group of destructible surfactants which were readily hydrolyzed and oxidized in natural water reservoirs. Physical properties of these new compounds involved some surface properties such as Krafft point(Kp), critical micelle concentration(cmc), surface tension of aqueous solutions near cmc(${\gamma}_{min}$), foaming power, emulsion power and hydrolysis properties were determined. The destructible surfactants containing 1,3-dioxane ring were synthesized to about $85{\pm}5.5%$ yield. The cmc values of the compounds by ring method were assumed to $0.5{\sim}5.0{\times}10^{-3}mol/L$ range and surface tensions at cmc were $29.5{\sim}33.0dyne/cm$ respectively at $25^{\circ}C$. The foaming power and foam stability were $170{\sim}230mm$ and $52{\sim}135mm$ respectively at $1{\times}10^{-2}mol/L$, foam was occurred rarely below $1{\times}10^{-3}mol/L$. The emulsion property of liquid paraffin was better than that of soybean oil. For hydrolysis property with ph and time, these compounds were decomposed within about 200minutes at $ph1{\sim}2$. Hopefully these compounds are expected to be a good O/W emulsifier that have decomposability in acid and may be used in the process which do not need foaming.

고주파가열을 이용한 정어리 발포건조제품의 가공 I. 첨가물의 배합 및 가공방법 (Dehydration of foamed sardine-starch paste by microwave heating. (Formulation and processing conditions))

  • Sardine ant mackerel so called dark muscled fish have been underutilized due to the disadvantages in bloody meat color, high content of fat, and postmortem instability of protein. Recent efforts were made to overcome these defects and develope new types of product such as texturized protein concentrates and dark muscle eliminated minced fish. Approach of this study is based on the rapicl dehydration of foamed fish-starch paste by dielectric heating. In process comminuted sardine meat was washed more than three times by soaking and decanting in chilled water and finally centrifuged. The meat was ground in a stone mortar added with adequate amounts of salt, foaming agent, and other ingredients for aid to elasticity and foam stability. The ground meat paste was extruded in finger shape and heated in a microwave oven to give foamed, expanded, and porous solid structure by dehydration. Dielectric constant ($\varepsilon$′) and dielectric loss ($\varepsilon$") vcalues of sardine meat paste were influenced by wavelength and moisture level. Those values at 100KHz and 15MHz were ranged 2.25∼9.86 ; 2.22∼4.18 for $\varepsilon$′ and 0.24∼19.24 ; 0.16∼1.25 for $\varepsilon$", respectively, at the moisture levels of 4.2∼13.8%. For a formula for fish-starch paste preparation, addition of 20∼30% starch (potato starch) to the weight of fish meat, 2∼4% salt, and 5∼10% soybean protein was adequate to yield 4∼5 folds of expansion in volume when heated. Addition of egg yolk was of benefit to micronize foam size and better crispness. In order to provide better foaming and dehydration, addition of 0.2∼0.5% sodium bicarbonate foaming agent, was proper to result in foam size of 0.5∼0.7mm and foam density of 200∼400/$\textrm{cm}^2$ which gave a good crispness.

파일롯 규모의 저압형 부상장치를 이용한 하수슬러지 농축에 관한 연구 (Thickening of Activated Sludge Using Low Pressure Flotation Pilot System)

  • 가압형 부상법에 비해 낮은 압력에서 미세기포를 발생시키는 저압형 부상법을 슬러지 부상 농축에 적용하여 그 성능을 검증하고 실제 적용가능성을 확인하였다. 파일롯 규모의 저압형 부상조를 충남 N.S. 하수처리장에 설치하여 혼합슬러지의 농도, 응집제 주입량 및 혼합슬러지 대비 미세기포수의 비율과 같은 운전 변수가 혼합슬러지 농축에 미치는 영향을 확인하였다. 미세기포는 내부 압력이$1.5kgf/cm^2$으로 유지된 미세기포발생기에서 공기와 기포조제가 포함된 물을 고속 충돌 방식으로 발생시켰으며, 이를 부상농축 실험에 사용하였다. 장기운전 시 유입된 혼합슬러지의 SS 농도는 평균 14,400 mg/L였으며, 응집제 농도 27.6 mg/L, 기포조제 농도 4.0 mg/L, 혼합슬러지 대비 미세기포수의 비를 9.7%로 하여 저압형 부유부상조를 운전한 결과, 60,300 mg/L의 농축슬러지 고형물함량과 99% 이상의 고형물 회수율을 얻었다. 이 경우의 고형물 표면적 부하율은 $30kg/m^2/hr$로 2011년 환경부에서 제정한 하수도 상압 부상농축 시설기준 25 $kg/m^2/hr$을 상회하였다.

포틀랜드 시멘트 모르타르의 미세구조와 동결융해저항성에 대하여 (Microstructure and Freeze-Thaw Resistance of Portland Cement Mortars)

  • For the present experiment five Portland cement mortars are in order: mortars with two different water/ cement ratios (W/C=0.45 and 0.50, each having no chemical additive), and those with an additive such as superplasticizer, air-entraining agent or water-repelling agent. We fix the W/C ratio of mortars having additive so that their pastes can yield the same workability as that of the cement mortar of W/C=0.50 with no additive. It is shown that the freeze-thaw resistivity depends heavily on the characteristic of wide pores. Despite a good deal of wide pores, the air-entrained specimen shows a good freeze-thaw resistivity due to appropriate air-pores. And also the specimen with water-repelling agent, which proves to cause the microstructure to become hydrophobic, make good resistance to freeze-thaw cycles in spite of its high wide-porosity. Our suggestion is that the freeze-thaw durability of Portland cement mortar/concrete can be more effectively enhanced by using air-entraining agent or water-repelling agent, and simutaneously by taking proper measures against foaming and/or the increased tendency of wide-pore building due to additive.

Effect of Process Conditions on the Microstructure of Particle-Stabilized Al2O3 Foam

  • $Al_2O_3$ foam is an important engineering material because of its exceptional high-temperature stability, low thermal conductivity, good wear resistance, and stability in hostile chemical environment. In this work, $Al_2O_3$ foams were designed to control the microstructure, porosity, and cell size by varying different parameters such as the amount of amphiphile, solid loading, and stirring speed. Particle stabilized direct foaming technique was used and the $Al_2O_3$ particles were partially hydrophobized upon the adsorption of valeric acid on particles surface. The foam stability was drastically improved when these particles were irreversibly adsorbed at the air/water interface. However, there is still considerable ambiguity with regard to the effect of process parameters on the microstructure of particle-stabilized foam. In this study, the $Al_2O_3$ foam with open and closed-cell structure, cell size ranging from $20{\mu}m$ to $300{\mu}m$ having single strut wall and porosity from 75% to 93% were successfully fabricated by sintering at $1600^{\circ}C$ for 2 h in air.

Acyl화에 의한 녹두 Whole Globulin의 특성에 관한 연구 (Properties of Acylated Mungbean Whole Globulin)

  • The objective of this study was to improved the limited functional characteristics of mungbean whole globulin. The mungbean whole globulin was acylated with succinic and acetic anhydride, and the functional properties of acylated protein were investigated, The results obtained ware as follows. 1. The UV-absorption spectra of acylated whole globulins with that of the succinylated 74% whole globulin as large blue shift of the absorption maximum and minimum wavelength from 275 nm to 269 nm, respectively. 2. The mobility of acylated whole globulin were increased on PAGE pattern, and degree of mobility was particularly remarkable in case of succinylation, 3. The water absorption capacity of whole globulin was increased by acylation. The most increased rate of whole globulin was 174,02% from succinylated 74%. The oil absorption capacity of whole globulin was increased by acylation The most increased rate of whole globulin was 165.41% from acetylated 81.77%. 4. The bulk density of whole globulin was decreased by acylation. and the greater the extent of acylation, the smaller the bulk density. 5. The foaming capacity and stability of whole globulin was increased by acylation, and remarkably high in 74% succinylated whole globulin. In contrast, however, the foaming capacity and stability of native and acylated whole globulin were decreased by heat treatment.

탈지조성에 따른 철강용 알칼리탈지제의 합성 및 특성 (Synthesis and Characteristics of Alkaline Degreasing Agents for Steel Containing Degreasing Components)

  • To prepare alkaline degreasing agents(SADAs), tetrasodium pyrophosphate(TSPP), $Na_2CO_3$, Tetronix T-701 (T-701), Na-dioctyl sulfosuccinate(303C), Demol C, and MJU-100A were blended. The prepared degreasing agents were tested with steel specimens and the results were as follows. The degreasing powers of SADA-6($Na_2CO_3$ 50g/TSPP 25g/T-701 10g/303C 15g/Demol C 12g/MJU-100A 8g/water 130g mixture) for press-rust preventing oil were 98% and 99% degreasing at 4wt%, 70 $^{\circ}C$ and 90 $^{\circ}C$, respectively; for quenching oil, the degreasing power of SADA-6 was 92% degreasing at 4wt% and 70 $^{\circ}C$. From these results, it was proved that the SADA-6 exhibits a good degreasing power. Foam heights measured immediately after foaming by Ross & Miles method and Ross & Clark method at 6wt% and 60 $^{\circ}C$ were 16mm and 40mm, respectively. SADA-6 was proved a good low foaming degreasing agent.
