In this study, polyethylene glycol (PEG) and polyacrylamide (PAM) have been used as self-curing agents to produce self-curing concrete (SC). Compressive strength, ultrasonic pulse velocity (UPV), bulk electrical resistivity, chloride ion penetrability, water permeability, and main microstructural characteristics were examined under different curing regimes, and compared to those of the control concrete mixture with no self-curing agents. One batch of a control mixture and one batch of a SC mixture were air-cured in the lab to act as non-water-cured samples. The water curing regimes for the control mixture included continuous water curing for 3, 7, and 28 days and periodical moist curing using wetted burlap for 3 and 7 days. Curing regimes for the SC mixtures included 3 days of water curing and periodical moist curing for 3 and 7 days. SC mixtures showed better microstructure development and durability performance than those of the air-cured control mixture. A short water curing period of 3 days significantly improved the performance of the SC mixtures similar to that of the control mixture that was water cured for 28 days. SC concrete represents a step towards sustainable construction due to its lower water demand needed for curing and hence can preserve the limited water resources in many parts of the world.

In this study, the characteristics of compressive strength of ultra high strength concrete supplied with moisture from outside by vacuum water absorbing curing method were investigated. Specimens were prepared by replacing the binder(Silifa fume and GGBS) by 25 wt% with respect to the weight of cement at W/B 0.16. Each specimen was subjected to water Vacuum absorbing curing time 0 min, 30 min, 60 min, 90 min and 120 minutes immediately after the demolding. Curing was performed at $20^{\circ}C$ Air-dry curing, $90^{\circ}C$ steam curing, $90^{\circ}C$ steam curing and $180^{\circ}C$ autoclave curing. Experimental results showed that water absorbing degree increased with increasing water absorbing curing time, and BS25 sample had higher water absorbing degree than SF25 sample at same time. Compressive strength tended to increase up to about 40% in water absorbing degree, but compressive strength decreased again in water absorbing more than 40%.

This study was carried out to research the strength drop of concrete in dry environment. The mixing ratio of cement-fine aggregate was 1: 1, 1 : 2, 1: 3 and 1 : 4. The curing was compared standard curing with dry curing immediately after casting. It is analysis of strength change by water-proof mixing. The curing age of cement mortar was 3days, 7days, l4days and 28days. The result obtained from this study are summarized as follows. 1. The compressive and bending strength change by increasing the curing age, dry curing mortar the increasing rate of strength was decreased than standard curing mortar. 2. The compressive and bending strength change in early curing, strength difference between standard curing mortar and dry curing motar was gradually closed by increasing the W/C. 3. The dry curing mortar was decreased than standard curing mortar in decreasing rate of compressive and bending strength by increasing the W/C. 4. The compressive strength of water-proof mortar in early curing, liquid water-proof mortar was shown high strength in dry curing than standard curing. The powder and liquid water-proof mortar have a small effect in dry environment. The liquid water-proof mortar was high strength without relation change of curing age in dry environment than standard curing. 5. The compressive strength of liquid water-proof mortar in poverty mix, dry curing was shown high strength than standard curing. 6. The bending strength was increased than compressive strength by decreasing the volume of cement in early curing. The increasing rate of bending strength was decreased to compressive stength by increasing the curing age.
The purpose of this study was to determine if homogeneity of the resin associated with benchcuring could be obtained in the curing unit as the water increased from room temperature to curing temperature. The results of the experiment were as follows : 1. Long periods of bench-curing are not necessary. 2. Bench-curing can take place in the water bath of the curing unit. When this procedure is used, the water should be far enough below the temerature at which active polymerization of the resin proceeds to allow the bench-curing to occur.

Material, mix proportion, curing condition, temperature, humidity and wind velocity have an influence on drying shrinkage of concrete. In this paper, to evaluate the effect of curing condition at early age on the drying shrinkage of concrete was investigated varying curing age for different binder. The principal conclusions from this research were as follows: 1) In case of 14 days of water curing, the drying shrinkage of concrete is smaller than 7 days of water curing, independence of type of binder. 2) In case of 4 days of water curing, the ratio of increase of drying shrinkage of concrete using fly-ash and slag powder is more remarkable than using portland cement alone, comparing the drying shrinkage of 7 days of water curing.

The purpose of this study is to derive the optimum water absorbing curing time. It was found that the cement paste compressive strength was increased with the water absorbing ratio up to 40%, but the compressive strength was slightly lower when the catch level was over 50%. It is considered that the superfluous water did not react and remained in the inside of the specimen, causing microcracks in the inside due to the high temperature curing, resulting in a decrease in strength. Therefore, it is considered that the optimum catcher curing time for improving the strength through catcher curing is when the catcher reaches 40%.
For water barrier and reinforcing grout in soft ground, the verification of durability was conducted over the initial and long-term ages under various curing conditions. The grout was made of water glass system, fast-hardening mineral (FHM) system, and acrylic polymer system. There were three types of curing conditions that were tab water curing, artificial seawater curing, and atmospheric curing. And the various tests were performed for each sample by age, uniaxial compressive strength, length change, and weight change. As artificial seawater, MgCl2 and MgSO4 aqueous solutions were prepared and used, respectively. As the test results, the fast-hardening mineral system and acrylic polymer system were cured stably without significant change in durability in tap water and artificial sea water, whereas water glass system showed a very rapid drop in durability under artificial sea water conditions compared to tap water. In atmospheric curing conditions, durability is lowered compared to water curing in all cases, and in particular, the weight loss in the FHM system and water glass system is about 62% and 60%, respectively, resulting in a significant decrease in durability.
Statement of problem. Among the physical properties of adhesion luting cement, the aspect that requires the most important factor is the degree of solubility and water sorption. Dissolution or an inadequate due to excessive water sorption inside the oral cavity compromises the while concurrently increasing the susceptibility to secondary dental caries. Susceptibility to dissolution and difficulty of removing remnant cement from the gingival sulcus have hindered the use of dental resin cement in the clinical practice, but the improved characteristics of newer generation resin cements have interest in and enabled resin cements to be widely used in adhesion of fixed prosthesis, such as laminate veneers and all-ceramic crowns. Purpose. The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze the degrees of solubility and water sorption of a variety of resin cements widely used for clinical purposes with different curing methods. Material and methods. Self-curing resin cements, $Avanto^{(R)}$, $C&B^{TM}$ CEMENT and Superbond C&B cements comprised group 1, 2 and 3. The dual-curing resin cements $Panavian^{TM}$ F, $Calibra^{(R)}$ and $Variolink^{(R)}$ II were divided into groups 4, 5, and 6, respectively. The investigation was carried out using disc-shaped specimens as specified by ANSI/ADA Specification No. 27. The degree of water sorption, water solubility and lactic acid solubility of each test group was analyzed statistically leading to the following conclusion. Results. The degree of water sorption was shown to increase in the following order : group 6, 5, 4, 2, 1 and 3. There were significant differences between the water sorption of each group. Results of the degree of water solubility were shown to increase in the following order : group 6, 5, 4, 2, 1 and 3. Statistically significant differences were found between each group, with the exception of groups 1 and 3. Finally, the degree of lactic acid solubility was found to increase in the following order : group 6,5,4,2,3 and 1. Significant differences were found between each group. In general dual-curing resin cements displayed substantially lower values than self-curing resin cements with regard to water sorption, water solubility, and lactic acid solubility. Conclusions. From the results of this study, dual-curing resin cements show a significantly lower degree of water sorption and solubility than their self-curing counterparts. Clinically, when selecting resin cements, the product with a lower degree of water sorption and solubility are preferred. The results of this study indicate that the use-of dual-curing resin cements is preferable to self-curing cements.
This paper presents a study of the properties and behavior of self-compacting concretes (SCC) in the hot climate. The effect of curing environment and the initial water curing period on the properties and behavior of SCC such as compressive strength, ultrasonic pulse velocity (UPV) and sorptivity of the SCC specimens were investigated. Three Water/Binder (W/B) ratios (0.32, 0.38 and 0.44) have been used to obtain three ranges of compressive strength. Five curing methods have been applied on the SCC by varying the duration and the conservation condition of SCC. The results obtained on the compressive strength show that the period of initial water curing of seven days followed by maturation in the hot climate is better in comparison with the four other curing methods. The coefficient of sorptivity is influenced by W/B ratio and the curing methods. It is also shown that the sorptivity coefficient of SCC specimens is very sensitive to the curing condition. The SCC specimens cured in water present a low coefficient of sorptivity regardless of the ratio W/B. Furthermore, the results show that there is a good correlation between ultrasonic pulse velocity and the compressive strength.
In order to assure the quality of concrete structure in construction process, the odor strength measured by using odor sensor was used to evaluate curing effect. Then, the compressive strength and odor strength in ordinary concrete N were shown in water curing(=standard curing), indoor and outdoor atmospheric curing condition. The difference between odor strength in the standard curing and that in each curing condition was defined as the difference in the odor strength. And the difference in odor strength in slag powder concrete BP cured in water curing(=standard curing) for different period before exposing in outdoor atmosphere in winter season were evaluated at the age of 14 days. A necessity to prolong the moisture curing for the slag powder concrete BP compared with the ordinary concrete N to obtain a required curing effect was shown by measuring the odor strength and long term compressive strength.
