신종플루 확산(2009년) 이후 호흡기감염 아동 보호자의 감염관리 지식정도 및 수행정도 (Knowledge and Practice Level of Infection Management for Child Guardians with Respiratory Infections after H1N1 Diffusion (2009))

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the knowledge and practice level of infection managements in child guardians with respiratory infections after H1N1 diffusion of 2009. Methods: The data were collected during February and March 2010 using a self-report questionnaire. The participants were 228 child guardians. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, means, SD, t-test, F-test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and Cronbach's alpha with the SPSS 17.0 program. Results: Mean age of the guardians and children were 37.8 years, 4.1 years respectively. For knowledge level of respiratory infections, hand washing method had the highest score and snuffles prevention method, the lowest. For practice level for respiratory infections, environmental hygiene management had the highest score and symptom management, the lowest. Infection management knowledge and practice level had a positively significant correlation in every area. Conclusion: The results indicate the necessity of continual education on infection management, and that the most efficient timing for the education appears be for participants during their first pregnancy or after the woman has delivered her child.

A Study on Knowledge and Care Behaviors of Hair and Scalp on UV - Focusing on Beauty Care Major and Non-Major Female Students -

  • This study examined knowledge and hair care behaviors of hair and scalp on UV(ultraviolet) comparing beauty care major and non-major female students. Results were obtained by questionnaire in 159 students majoring in beauty care and 198 students not majoring, was used frequency analysis, varimax rotation, t-test, F-test, Tukey post test. The analysis was statistically processed by using SPSS 12.0 program. The knowledge of hair and scalp on UV associated with a major showed significant on hair damage, in the UV, hair, scalp, hair damage, and UV and hair-related items, suggesting higher level in major female students. The results of care behaviors of UV and hair and scalp knowledge associated with a major. Correlation of care behaviors with a major showed significant results. For correlation by subfactor, there was significant difference in self-care, habitual care, and washing care between two groups, but there was no significant difference in protection care. It was found that both major and non-major students did not receive professional care.

간호학생을 위한 웹기반 VRE 감염관리 교육프로그램의 개발 및 효과 (Development and Evaluation of a Web-based Education Program for Nursing Students on Control of Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus Infection)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a web-based education program on control vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE) infections and to identify the effects of the program on knowledge and performance of nursing students. Methods: The web-based VRE infection control education program was developed by using the network-based instructional systems design model. The nursing students in the experimental group could access this web-based education program at any time, and as many times as they wanted, during the clinical training period. Effects were evaluated by assessing knowledge and performance of VRE infection control measures during the clinical training period. Results: The contents of the education program included diagnosis, transmission, and treatment of VRE, contact precautions, hand washing, personal protective equipment, environment management, and quizzes. The lecture portion was filmed in a virtual screen studio using flash animation, video, and sound effects, and it was uploaded on an internet site. The knowledge and performance scores of the experimental group after using the education program were significantly higher than those of the control group. Conclusion: The results suggest that the web-based VRE infection control education program is an effective educational method to enhance knowledge and performance of VRE infection control measures.

  • Purpose: The study was undertaken to see whether the culturally sensitive education for perinatal care using a face to face approach improves understanding of spouse's culture, knowledge of pregnancy and parenting skills, and self-efficacy among Korean husbands and Vietnamese wives. Methods: This study has a pre- and post-test study design conducted in a total of 13 couples who live in Seoul and agreed to participate. The education program consisted of lecture and hands on practice. The self-administered questionnaires and the checklist developed based on the educational purpose were used to assess the education effects. Results: The knowledge scores on Korean/Vietnamese culture, pregnancy and parenting skills as well as the performance scores on hand washing, pelvic strengthening, feedings and newborn bathing techniques were significantly improved in both husbands and wives after education, but pelvic floor exercises were improved only in wives. Conclusion: Overall, the individual education for culturally sensitive perinatal care was effective in our study participants.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of multimedia educational program of the prevention of respiratory disorders on knowledge and behavior of preschool children. Method: The research design used a nonequivalent control group pre-posttest. 32 subjects in the control group received no intervention, 33 subjects in experimental group received a multimedia educational program that consists of video, named 'The strong girl and weak girl', 5 different picture boards, method of hand washing, tooth brushing, and reinforcement. The data were analyzed by using $x^2$-test and t-test for determining of homogeneity and testing the hypothesis. Results: There were significant increases in knowledge and behavior in the experimental group compared to the control group. Conclusion: From the results of this study, the multimedia educational program significantly increased knowledge and behaviors of preschool children for preventing respiratory disorders. These findings suggest that a multimedia educational program can be used as an efficient nursing intervention of preschool children for preventing respiratory disorders.

간호대학생의 기침예절 이행에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors Influencing the Compliance of Cough Etiquette in Nursing Students)

  • 본 연구는 간호대학생의 기침예절에 관한 지식과 이행 수준 간의 관계 및 기침예절에 관한 이행 수준에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하기 위한 서술적 조사연구이다. 자료수집은 간호대학생 173명을 대상으로 2018년 9월 3일부터 14일까지 이루어졌다. 자료수집은 구조화된 질문지를 이용하여 자가보고하도록 하였다. 자료분석방법은 t-test, one-way ANOVA, Kruskal-wallis test, Pearson 상관분석, 단계적 다중 회귀분석을 사용하였다. 분석결과, 기침예절에 대한 지식은 손씻기 횟수에 따라 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 나타냈다. 기침예절에 대한 이행수준은 평소 티슈를 가지고 다니는 경우, 평소 손수건을 가지고 다니는 경우, 손씻기 횟수, 기침예절에 대한 교육 필요성에 따라 유의한 차이를 나타냈다. 기침예절에 관한 지식은 이행수준과 유의한 정적 상관관계를 나타냈다. 기침예절에 관한 이행 수준의 영향요인은 기침예절에 관한 지식, 평소 손수건을 가지고 다니는 경우, 기침예절에 대한 교육 필요성으로 총 변화량의 22%를 설명하였다. 본 연구를 통해 간호대학생의 기침예절에 대한 이행수준을 높이기 위해 평소 손수건을 휴대해야 하고 기침예절에 대한 지식을 높이기 위한 교육프로그램 개발이 필요하다.

한방병원 한의사와 간호사의 감염관리에 대한 지식과 수행도 비교 (Knowledge and Performance Level of Infection Control and Influencing Factors of Oriental Medical Doctors and Nurses in Korea)

  • Purpose: This study was designed to identify knowledge and performance level of infection control among oriental medical doctors and nurses and further to identify factors that may influence practice. Methods: Data were collected using the survey method. Two hundred and forty two healthcare workers (HCW) from five oriental medicine university hospitals in Korea (140 physicians and 102 nurses) completed a survey about infection control. The study was conducted from February 1 to 28, 2011. Results: The average knowledge level of infection control among HCW was $0.75{\pm}0.13$ (score range 0~1) and the average performance level of infection control was $3.16{\pm}1.05$ (score range 0~5). 'Disinfection and sterilization' were ranked the highest in both the knowledge and performance level. In the knowledge level, 'hand washing/hand hygiene' were ranked the lowest. 'Bloodstream infection prevention' was the lowest among the infection control categories in performance. Total average knowledge and performance level of nurses was significantly higher than that of the physicians. Conclusion: This study demonstrated the oriental medical doctors and nurses' knowledge and performance level of infection control differed. The education on infection control is required to oriental medical doctors and nurses and it would contribute to preventing healthcare associated infections in oriental medicine hospitals.

초등학교 급식 조리종사자의 위생지식 검사를 통한 교육 필요성 평가 (Need Assessments of HACCP - based Sanitation Training Program in Elementary School Foodservice Operations based on Sanitation Knowledge Test of Employees)

  • The study was conducted to assess sanitary concepts of employees and needs of HACCP-based sanitation training program for elementary school foodservice operations. Subjects consisted of 370 foodservice employees. Foodservice employees' demographic characteristics were surveyed, and their food sanitation knowledge was tested. Food sanitation knowledge included 4 dimensions of foodborne disease & food microbiology; sanitary management in food product flows; personal hygiene management; and equipment & facility sanitation management. The data were analysed using the SPSS package for descriptive analysis, t-test and ANOVA test. The average sanitation knowledge score was 9.5 out of 15. The working periods of foodservice employees were singnificantly(p<01) related to food sanitation knowledge dimensions. Correct answering rate of 4 sanitation management dimensions were 74.4% in foodborne disease & food microbiology; 536% in sanitary management in food product flows; 78.7% in personal hygiene management; and 50.5% in equipment & facility sanitation management. 6 items in 4 sanitation knowledge dimensions under mean score were identified. Those items were temperature danger zone, thawing method of frozen foods, cooking & holding temperature, proper sampling & storage methods, proper storing methods in refrigerator, and proper washing & sanitizing method for utensils. Identified 6 items were included in 12 critical control points developed for the elementary school generic HACCP plan, and should be emphasized in implementing HACCP-based sanitation training program.

초등학생의 식품안전과 관련된 지식, 행동, 교육방법의 요구도에 관한 연구 (Elementary School Students' Knowledge, Behavior and Request for Education Method Associated with Food Safety)

  • We investigated elementary school students' knowledge, behavior, experience and preference of education method related to food safety in order to provide basic information for food safety educational program. A survey study was conducted with 569, fourth and sixth grade students, from two schools in Seoul and Ulsan. Students were asked thirty-two questions regarding food safety knowledge, behavior and experiences as well as their attitude to food safety class and preference for teaching method. The data was analyzed for the frequency analysis, t-test, chi-square test, one-way ANOVA and Pearson correlation using the SPSS/Windows. Results indicated that 91.9 percent of the respondents did not know what unsanitary food is. 67 percent of the respondents did not know the proper method of hand washing. Although the students' level of knowledge and behavior associated with food safety was low, there was meaningful correlation(r =.184, p<.01) between knowledge and behavior. Surprisingly, students in higher grade did not demonstrate an exceeding food safety knowledge and behavior. More than 50 percent of the subjects did not have food safety education either at home or school. 60 percent of the respondents interested in food safety and the majority recognized that a food safety education is needed. Students want to learn about unsanitary food(34.1%), foodborne illness(29.7%), food selection and storage method(21.3%), and personal hygiene(11.2%) through game, role play, and practice in real situation. These results suggest that development of food safety education program is needed through the elementary school year and the education program must include fun activities in which students can participate.

니트의류제품의 세탁 및 관리현황조사 (Laundering and Care of Knitwear Products)

  • The purpose of this research is to provide the fundamental data about knitwear laundering and care. A questionnaire was designed and survey data was colleted from male and female consumers. Descriptive statistics, Chi-squire and t-test were conducted for statistical analysis. Results indicated that female consumers were more susceptible with 'handle with care' or 'fragile label' than male consumers. Females preferred hand washing whereas males preferred dry cleaning. Marital status of respondents did not affect awareness of care labels. Consumers considered more about stability of product shape than stain removal. Although most respondents followed proper ways to knitwear care and laundering, they felt that technical knowledge or deep understanding about washing is needed. In order to increase consumer satisfaction with knitwear products, the importance of care labels should be acknowledged.
