  • For two-dimensional causal spatial autoregressive processes, we propose and illustrate a method for determining asymptotic simultaneous confidence regions using Yule-Walker, unbiased Yule-Walker and least squres estimators. The spectral density for first-order spatial autoregressive model are looked at in more detail. Finite sample properties based on simulation study we also presented.

  • This note provides a study of lightlike hypersurfaces of a generalized Robertson-Walker(GRW) space-time with a certain screen distribution, which are integrable and have good properties. Focus is to investigate geometric features from the relation of the second fundamental forms between lightlike hypersurfaces and leaves of the integrable screen distribution. Also, we shall apply those results on lightlike hypersurfaces of a GRW space-time to lightlike hypersurfaces of a Robertson-Walker(RW) space-time.

  • In this note, we apply a maximum principle related to volume growth of a complete noncompact Riemannian manifold, which was recently obtained by Alías, Caminha and do Nascimento in [4], to establish new uniqueness and nonexistence results concerning maximal spacelike hypersurfaces immersed in a generalized Robertson-Walker (GRW) spacetime obeying the timelike convergence condition. A study of entire solutions for the maximal hypersurface equation in GRW spacetimes is also made and, in particular, a new Calabi-Bernstein type result is presented.

  • We report an exact relation between the survival probability, the revisit time distribution, and the reaction-free propagator of the continuous time random walker. The relation holds even for such a general case where the random walker has a distinct jump dynamics at each lattice site, which may be dependent also on the direction of the jump. The application range of the obtained relation is not limited to the nearest neighbor hopping in the bulk lattice either. The result is applicable to a higher dimensional system with the spherical symmetry as well as it is to the one-dimensional system.

  • The purposes of this study were to develop a dynamic model of a human and to investigate the effect of a walker on an elderly subject's motions, such as sit-to-stand (STS) motion and normal gait, by using this model. A human model consisting of 15 segments and 14 joints was developed, embedded in $RecurDyn^{TM}$, and connected through a Simulink$^{(R)}$ interface with collected motion data. The model was validated by comparisons between joint kinematic results from inverse dynamics (Matlab$^{(R)}$-based in-house program) and from $RecurDyn^{TM}$ simulation during walking. The results indicate that the elderly walker induced a longer movement time in walking, such that the speed of joint flexion/extension was slower than that during a normal gait. The results showed that the muscle activities of parts of the ankle and hamstring were altered by use of the elderly walker. The technique used in this study could be very helpful in applications to biomechanical fields.

  • A sterrhine species, Organopoda carnearia (Walker) is reported for the first time from Korea. One male of O. carnearia was collected from an island on Dadohae National Park, Jeonnam Province. Diagnosis of the species is provided with brief description of adult including male genitalia.
