흡입/분사가 있는 난류 경계층 내 벽압력 변동의 특성 (Characteristics of Wall Pressure Fluctuations in a Turbulent Boundary Layer after Blowing or Suction)

  • A direct numerical simulation of a spatially-developing turbulent boundary layer is performed to examine the characteristics of wall pressure fluctuations after the sudden application of wall blowing or suction. The uniform blowing or suction is given by the wall-normal velocity through a spanwise slot at the wall. The response of wall pressure fluctuations to uniform blowing or suction is analyzed by computing the turbulence statistics and frequency spectra. It is found that wall pressure fluctuations are more affected by blowing than by suction. The large elongated structure of wall pressure fluctuations is observed near the maximum location of $(p_w)_{rms}$ for blowing. The convection velocities for blowing increase with increasing the streamwise location after the slot. For both blowing and suction, the small scale of wall pressure fluctuations reacts in a short downstream distance to the spanwise slot, whereas the large scale recovers slowly in a farther downstream.

  • 하이브리드 전기자동차(HEV)용 인버터의 스위칭 소자에서 발생하는 열을 효율적으로 냉각시키기 위한 수냉식구조를 제안한다. 기존의 볼트형 냉각구조는 강한 수압에서 누수현상이 발생할 수 있으므로 본 논문에서는 이를 방지하기 위해 방열판 내에 파이프 형태의 구조를 적용하였다. 발열원을 기준으로 수로의 이격거리 변화와 여러 형태의 수로에 대해 방열현상을 시뮬레이션으로 해석하고, 방열효과가 우수한 2가지 배관구조 모델을 기준으로 방열효과를 비교 분석하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과를 토대로 2가지 배관구조를 적용한 HEV용 30kW급 인버터를 제작하여 방열효과를 검증하였다.

COMPOSITION OF SUPERCONDUCTING YBCO THIN FILMS WITH RF REACTIVE SPUTTERING CONDITIONS

  • Superconducting YBaCuO thin films were deposited on MgO (100) single crystal substrate by rf reactive sputtering method. Sputtering target was prepared by mixing the original powders of $Y_2O_3$, $BaCO_3$, and CuO at $830^{\circ}C$, and its composition was $YBa_2Cu_{3.3}O_x$ adding the excess CuO to compensate for the loss of Cu in the deposition process. The sputtering conditions for a high quality of YBCO thin film were: substrate temperature of 13$0^{\circ}C$; gas pressure of 10 mTorr; gas mixture ($O_2$: Ar =10: 90); distance of 2.5 inch; and rf power density of 4.87 W /$\textrm{cm}^2$. The deposition rate was 2.4~2.6 nm/min. From the RBS results, it was found that Cu and Ba contents in thin films decreased with the increase of substrate temperature. The increase of gas pressure resulted in significant deficiency of Ba elements.

  • The second telemetry is designed for supplying additional function which the first telemetry system doesn't have and as a part system of the External Management System (EMS). It makes a patient and an animal move more freely with wireless communication at a distance of free activity from the PC and can get most data from the first telemetry to send to the PC. Recently, our laboratory is developing a RF system for the second telemetry.

  • This research focused on the spray and distribution characteristics of urea solution by applying flow visualization techniques and did durability and driver test on injectors as well. The spray characteristics of urea solution was observed by CCD camera. Also, the distribution characteristics of urea solution was evaluated quantitatively as well by using 3D laser scanner equipment. It was considered that it was reasonable to use the injector for gasoline engine in order to inject the urea. The best distribution chart result was observed near 45cm distance difference between catalyst and urea spray injector. As a result of trapped urea distribution chart analysis, optimal pressure and volumetric flow rates of air and urea were derived in order to improve the distribution of Urea. This information may contribute to provide fundamental data in the future.

도로 시설물 관리를 위한 노변 영상 취득 시스템 개발에 관한 연구 (Development of roadside image data acquisition system for road facility management)

  • 본 연구에서 개발한 노변 영상(roadside image) 취득 시스템은 효율적으로 도로 시설물들을 관리하기 위함이다. 복잡하고 긴 구간의 도로에 존재하는 도로 시설물을 인력을 사용하여 조사하기에는 많은 시간과 비용이 소요된다. 도로를 따라 움직이는 차량을 이용하는 경우에는 적은 인원과, 단시간에 노변에 설치된 시설물 등의 현황과 상태를 조사 할 수 있으며 도로 주변의 다양한 정보를 알 수가 있다. 또한, 차량에 장착된 GPS/INS 통합시스템을 사용하여 해당 영상의 정확한 위치 정보를 획득 할 수 있다. 그러나 선명한 영상을 취득하기 위해서 야외의 다양한 조건을 만족시키는 카메라와 렌즈의 선정이 중요하며, 이에 따른 동기화 장치(synchronization device)와 영상 획득 프로그램의 개발이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 경기도 고양시를 대상으로 시험을 실시하였으며, 현재 시판되고 있는 최신의 다양한 종류의 카메라와 렌즈를 차량에 장착한 후 영상을 취득하여 연구에 적합한 하드웨어를 선정하였다. 또한 동기화 장치를 사용하여 DMI(Distance Measuring Instrument)에서 발생되는 트리거 신호를 입력받아 일정한 거리마다 영상을 취득하는 S/W와 동기화 장치의 성능을 테스트하였다. 취득된 노변 영상의 위치 정확도를 테스트하기 위해 DGPS 방법을 이용하여 후처리 하였으며, 레벨 2수준의 교통주제도에 차량의 이동궤적과 도로의 선형을 중첩하여 육안으로 비교 분석하였다. 취득된 노변 영상을 분석하여 지상 모니터링 분야에서 도로 주변 시설물의 변화 탐지에 이용이 가능한 대상 시설물 목록을 선정하였으며 매우 효율적으로 도로의 유지관리에 활용이 가능할 것으로 기대된다.

수중정보의 원격계측시스템에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Telemetric Measuring System of the Underwater Information)

  • 수산, 해양자원을 개발함에 있어 가장 중요한 요소중의 하나인 해양환경요소를 효과적으로 측정하기 위해 원격제어장치를 제작하여 수온에 대한 원격제어실험을 행한 결과, 수은온도계로 직접 측정한 측정치와 원격제어 시스템에 의한 측정치는 수온 $12^{\circ}C~37^{\circ}C$ 범위에서는 완전정상관을 이루어, 본 원격계측 시스템은 수온의 원격제어에 효과적으로 사용할 수 있음을 확인할 수 있으며, 다른 수중정보의 원격제어에도 크게 활용될 수 있으리라 생각된다.

직물의 평면 드레이프 계수와 측면 드레이프 계수와의 관계 (Relationship between Plane and Side Drape Coefficient of Fabrics)

  • To investigate the relationship between plane and side drape coefficient, the drape tester designed in which coordinate of projected outline of draped specimen could be recorded. By using this drape tester, the three dimensional shape, plane and side drape coefficient were obtained from coordinate of plane projected shape, and furthermore examined the tendency in changes of drape coefficient in terms of diameter of specimen, deflection angle, and bending rigidity. The side drape coefficients were constant regardless of changes in diameter of specimen. The plane drape coefficients, however, made a little difference according to changes in diameter of specimen. The experimental drape coefficient agreed well with the theoretical drape coefficient according to deflection angle. In the meanwhile, when the plane drape coefficients were regressed with the side drape coefficents, regression equation was $y=0.375x-0.002x^2+6.9\times10^{-5}x^3$. When the $\overline{\theta_s}$ is mean of deflection angle of selected points which have the longest and shortest distance from center point in the node, the theoretical drape coefficient calculated from $\overline{\theta_s}$ has high correlation with experimental drape coefficient. The plane and side drape coefficient changed linearly with increasing the bending length, $\sqrt[3]{EI/w}$.

A HYDROGEN FUELLED V-8 ENGINE FOR CITY-BUS APPLICATION

  • Hydrogen is seen as one of the important energy vectors of the next century. Hydrogen as a renewable energy source, provides the potential for a sustainable development particularly in the transportation sector. Hydrogen driven vehicles reduce both local as well as global emissions. The laboratory of transporttechnology (University of Gent) converted a GM/Crusader V-8 engine for hydrogen use. Once the engine is optimised, it will be built in a low-floor midsize hydrogen city bus for public demonstration. For a complete control of the combustion process and to increase the resistance to backfire (explosion of the air-fuel mixture in the inlet manifold), a sequential timed multipoint injection of hydrogen and an electronic management system is chosen. The results as a function of the engine parameters (ignition timing. injection timing and duration, injection pressure) we given. Special focus is given to topics related to the use of hydrogen as a fuel: ignition characteristics (importance of electrode distance), quality of the lubricating oil (crankcase gases with high contents of hydrogen), oxygen sensors (very lean operating conditions), noise reduction (configuration and length of inlet pipes). The advantages and disadvantages of a power regulation only by the air to fuel ratio (as for diesel engines) against a throttle regulation (normal gasoline or gas regulation) are examined. Finally the goals of the development of the engine are reached: power output of 90 kW, torque of 300 Nm, extremely low emission levels and backfire-safe operation.

용융 붕사욕 침지법에 의해 금형용 강에 형성된 VC coating층의 밀착성과 내마모성에 관한 연구 (A study on Adhesion and Wear Resistance of Vanadium Carbide Coating on Die Steels by Immersing in Molten Borax Bath)

  • A study on adhesion and wear resistance of VC(vanadium carbide) coating on die steels, STD11 and STD61, has been carried out. The VC coating on the die steels was made by immersing them in molten borax bath, a kind of TRD(thermo-reactive deposition and diffusion). Adhesion strength and wear resistance were investigated using scratch test, indentation test and plate-disc test(Ogoshi type) respectively. The influence of sliding distance on the amount of wear has been determined and dominant wear mechanisms has been characterized using optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and EDS spectroscopy. The critical adhesion strength($L_c$) between VC coating layer and substrate(STD11) was increased to 60N($L_c$) in the scratch test. In the case of STD61, the strength increased to 24N. The wear resistance of VC coated die steels was excellent because the diffusion layer formed just below the coating layer. The dominant wear mechanism was identified as adhesive wear for VC coating die steels which were worn by combination of cracking and plucking of VC fragments and disc.
