2 모듈 스택을 이용한 SOFC 시스템 운전결과 (Operation Results of the SOFC System Using 2 Sub-Module Stacks)

  • A 5kW class SOFC cogeneration system consisted of a hot box part, a cold BOP (balance of plant) part, and a hot water reservoir. The hot box part contained a stack, a fuel reformer, a catalytic combustor, and heat exchangers. A cold BOP part was composed of blowers, pumps, a water trap, and system control units. A 5kW stack was designed to integrate 2 sub-modules. In this paper, the 5kW class SOFC system was operated using 2 short stacks connected in parallel to test the sub-module and the system. A short stack had 15 cells with $15{\times}15 cm^2$ area. When a natural gas was used, the total power was about 1.38 kW at 120A. Because the sub-modules were connected in parallel and current was loaded using a DC load, voltages of sub-modules were same and the currents were distributed according to the resistance of sub-modules. The voltage of the first stack was 11.46 V at 61A and the voltage of the second stack was 11.49V at 59A.

Current Sharing Method Based on Optimal Phase Shift Control for Interleaved Three-Phase Half Bridge LLC Converter with Floating Y-Connection

  • A current balance problem exists in multi-phase LLC converters due to the resonant parameter tolerance. This paper presents a current balancing method for interleaved three-phase half bridge LLC converters. This method regulates the phase shift angle of the driving signals between the three phases based on a converter with a floating Y-connection. The floating midpoint voltage has different influences on each phase current and makes the three-phase current balance performance better than midpoint non-floating systems. Phase shift control between modules can further regulate the midpoint voltage. Then three phase current sharing is realized without adding extra components. The current distributions in a midpoint non-floating system and a midpoint floating system are compared. Then the principle and implementation of the proposed control strategy are analyzed in detail. A 3kW prototype is built to verify the validity and feasibility of the proposed method.

  • 절연된 부스트 변환기는 전기적인 절연과 매우 높은 승압을 필요로 하는 응용분야에 적합한 변환기이다. 낮은 입력전압을 높은 출력전압으로 승압하기 위해 필요한 변압기는 volt-sec 평형 조건을 만족하여야 한다. 기존의 절연된 부스트 변환기는 도통구간을 오버랩하여 제어하였으며 이 경우 제어회로가 복잡해지는 문제가 있다. 본 논문에서는 변압기의 volt-sec 평형을 위해 리셋권선을 설치하고 자기구동 스위치를 이용하여 제어회로를 간단하게 구성할 수 있는 절연된 부스트 변환기를 제안하고 해석한다. 마지막으로 출력 10[W]급의 절연된 부스트 변환기를 구성하여 시뮬레이션하고 실험을 수행하여 제안한 변환기의 이론적 해석의 타당성을 입증하였다.

  • In this paper, we studied reduction characteristics of NOx gas produced from diesel engine combustion using by point-plane electrode. Here, input voltage forms were types of three [DC, AC, DC Positive pulse] and NOx gas of 1700ppm was composed of NO 1665ppm, $NO_2$ 35ppm on balance of $N_2$. We investigated NOx reduction characteristics as various of parameters, are gas flow rate, input voltage form and, humidity. From the results of study, reduction characteristics of NOx exhibited good when gas flow rate was small, input voltage was DC and much humidity were contained to NOx gas.

  • This paper presents a new PFC control method which replaces a fast line current measurement with a filtered load current measurement. Using the power balance relation between the input and the output of the boost converter. the input current can be described as the function of load current. Thus the PWM signal which effects the switching control of the boost converter is generated using the PFC input voltage, the PFC output voltage and the load current as input variables. By using a filter between the bridge rectifier and a dc-to-dc converter, the input voltage of the dc-to-dc converter is forced to always maintain above zero volt. Then the input current traces a sinewave in phase. The proposed scheme accomplishes a very high power factor and a low harmonic distortion of the line current. The validity of this scheme is demonstrated through simulation.

A Grid Current-Controlling Shunt Active Power Filter

  • In this paper, the implementation of a three-phase shunt active power filter is presented. The filter is essentially three independent single-phase current-controlled voltage source inverters (CC-VSI) with a common DC bus. The CC- VSI is operated to directly control the AC grid current to be sinusoidal and in phase with the grid voltage without detecting the load currents. The APF consists of a current control loop, which shapes the grid currents to be sinusoidal and a voltage control loop, which regulates the active power balance of the system. The experimental results indicate that the active filter is able to handle predominantly the harmonics, as well as the unbalance and reactive power, so that the grid currents are sinusoidal, in phase with the grid voltages and symmetrical.

  • In this paper, a novel DC link voltage control scheme for a single-phase PWM converter is proposed. The main idea of the control scheme is eliminating the effect of dc link voltage harmonics by using power balance of input side and output side. With the proposed strategy, faster transient response than that of conventional method using low-pass filter can be obtained. In addition, a half period current control, based at equal switching frequency, is proposed. The validity of the proposed scheme is verified by simulation results for GTO PWM converter system.

  • For fast response of the dc output voltage in PWM converter, the relationship of power balance of both the input and output should be introduced to the system modeling. Then, a nonlinear control theory using state feedback linearization is useful to control the system. By nonlinear control, the voltage response can be fast, so the size of the output filter capacitor can be reduced as long as the same response is kept. The validity of the proposed scheme is shown from the simulation results.

  • The dielectric breakdown voltage (DBV) is a measure of an insulating fluids ability to withstand a high electric field stress without breaking down. Conventionally, the presence of water or particulate matter in a dielectric fluid comprises the liquid's breakdown strength. However, the addition of magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) in the base oil can increase the dielectric breakdown voltage of the fluid reversely, if the condition of the added particles in the fluid is in balance with that of keeping down the initiation and propagation of electrical streamers. In this study, we developed a mathematical model by a set of coupled, nonlinear equations using the COMSOL multiphysics finite element simulation suite and calculated the dielectrophoretic activity of magnetic nanoparticles suspended in the presence of electric field, which is the behavior responsible for enhancing the dielectric characteristics of transformer oil, in order to examine how the activity differ in a transformer oil-based magnetic fluid.

  • This paper introduces an improved pulse generator using power semiconductors and L-C circuit. The proposed circuit consists of the series connected boost converter structure. In the presented circuits, high voltage pulse is generated by series-connection of capacitors and IGBTs. The charging of capacitors and voltage balance of IGBTs are obtained automatically. To verify the proposed circuit, 1.8㎸, 40A pulse generator is manufactured and tested.
