본 논문에서는 영상전화 서비스 수행을 위한 기존 플랫폼들의 문제점을 분석하고 이를 해결 할 수 있는 차등 태스크 인터럽트 방식의 멀티미디어 데이터 스트림 처리구조를 제안하고, 이 구조를 기반으로 하여 ITU-T H.320 표준규격과 국가별 차이 규격도 수용하는 영상단말 시스템을 설계하여 기존 시스템의 문제점을 보완하였다. 구현과 실험을 통해 기존 시스템의 구조나 방식보다 여러가지 성능 및 품질 측면에서 개선됨을 검증하였다.

Infants communicate their feelings and needs to the outside world through non-verbal methods such as crying and displaying diverse facial expressions. However, inexperienced parents tend to decode these non-verbal messages incorrectly and take inappropriate actions, which might affect the bonding they build with their babies and the cognitive development of the newborns. In this paper, we propose an aural-visual two-stream based infant cry recognition system to help parents comprehend the feelings and needs of crying babies. The proposed system first extracts the features from the pre-processed audio and video data by using the VGGish model and 3D-CNN model respectively, fuses the extracted features using a fully connected layer, and finally applies a SoftMax function to classify the fused features and recognize the corresponding type of cry. The experimental results show that the proposed system classification exceeds 0.92 in F1-score, which is 0.08 and 0.10 higher than the single-stream aural model and single-stream visual model.

In this paper we proposed a modified reliability function for improving bimodal speaker identification(BSI) performance. The convectional reliability function, used by N. Fox[1], is extended by introducing an optimization factor. We evaluated the proposed method in BSI domain. A BSI system was implemented based on GMM and it was tested using VidTIMIT database. Through speaker identification experiments we verified the usefulness of our proposed method. The experiments showed the improved performance, i.e., the reduction of error rate by 39%.

대화형 멀티미디어 서비스중에서 대표적인 VOD(Video on demand) 서비스 일반에 관한 표준제정이 DAVIC(Digital Audio-Visual Council)을 중심으로 한창 진행되고 있다. 본 고에서는 DAVIC에서 정하고 있는 시스템 기준모델을 각 구성요소별로 살펴보고 디지털 음성-영상 응용 및 서비스들간의 상호 운용성을 위해 현재 표준제정 중인 인터페이스와 프로토콜을 1995년 1월에 만들어진 초안과 3월의 그 수정판 (DAVIC 1.0)을 중심으로 상세히 소개하려고 한다.

상호대화형 오디오비주얼 서비스는 텍스트, 도형, 사진, 오디오, 비디오 등과 같은 다양한 형태의 표현 요소로 구성되는 입출력 정보를 사용자의 단말이나 워크스테이션에 제공하는 서비스이다. 이러한 기능의 범위는 간단한 검색에서부터 상호대화적인 문의, 구성요소들의 재배치, 그들 요소들의 수정등의 서비스를 사용자에게 제공 할 수 있다. 이와 관련하여 ITU-T SG8/Q.11에서는 AVI 서비스를 위해 요구되는, 시스템, 데이터 교환형식, 그리고 프로토콜과 같은 일련의 기술적 사항을 표준화하는 작업을 하고 있다. 본고에서는 AVI 서비스의 기술적인 사항에 대하여 논하고, 현재 진행되고 있는 표준화 동향에 대하여 알아본다.

교육방법의 발전 없이 교육의 효과를 기대할 수 없다. 날로 발전하는 교육심리학과 아울러 전자분야의 눈부신 발달은 흑판과 강의에만 의존해 오던 종내의 교육방법을 근본적으로 바꿔놓고 있다. 특히 미국을 비롯한 선진제국의 강의실에는 현대적인 시청각 기자재가 즐비하게 비치되어 있고, 그 내용의 구성과 활용 전략상의 효과를 계속해서 평가하면서 교육의 효율을 높이고 있다. 시청각기자재 없이는 이제 교육이 불가능한 것처럼 인식되고 있는 것이 오늘날의 선진제국의 상식이다.

최근 정보통신 제품 및 서비스 산업의 발달로 VOD, Teleshopping 등의 멀티미디어 서비스를 위한 사용자 시스템의 개발이 한창이다. 그러나 구현된 제품이 국제 표준과 일치하지 않으면 제품은 시장 경쟁력을 상실하게 된다. 따라서 관련 프로토콜의 특성을 고려한 적합성 시험은 제품 및 서비스의 상호운용성의 확보를 위해 필수적이다. 본 고는 디지털 음향영상 통신 프로토콜로 자리잡고 있는 DAVIC(Digital Audio Visual Council) 표준의 주요 프로토콜에 대한 구현 제품의 체계적이고 효율적인 프로토콜 시험 방법을 조사 분석하고 향후 연구 과제 및 분야를 제시하고 있다.
