  • Objectives : Asymmetrical weight bearing during standing has been identified as a common problem in persons with hemiplegia. This study examined the effect of auditory and visual feedback on symmetric weight bearing with hemiplegia. Method: The intervention program was instituted for 10 min each day with a total of twelve treatment sessions. The machine which was used for this study is the Weight Balancer, OG GIKEN, WB-202, Japan Result: There was a significant improvement of symmetric weight distribution in auditory feedback group whereas the visual feedback group disclosed some improvement but not significantly. There was no significant change in control group. Conclusion: Results of this study suggest that an auditary feedback group can be more effective than visual feedback group or control group in helping the persons with hemiplegia achieve symmetric stance.

  • Recently, a visual servoing for an eye-in-hand robot has become an interesting problem. A distance between a camera and a task object is very useful information for visual servoing. In the previous works for visual servoing, the distance can be obtained from the difference between a reference and a measured feature value of the object such as area on image plane. However, since this feature depends on the object, the reference feature value must be changed when other task object is taken. To overcome this difficulty, this paper presents a novel method for visual servoing. In the proposed method, a blur is used to obtain the distance. The blur, one of the most important features, depends on the focal length of camera. Since it is not affected by the change of object, the reference feature value is not changed although other task object is taken. In this paper, we show a relationship between the distance and the blur, and define the feature jacobian matrix based on camera defocusing to operate the robot. A series of experiments is performed to verify the proposed method.

  • The purpose of this report was to study visual effect and functional effect of waist line location of slacks for females in 20'. 1. Differences of visual effect of slacks waist line change to be expressed that mature, sexual and casual slacks waist line were W4 or W5, looks like long leg and mature and formal slacks waist line was W1, slim lower part of the body and flat slacks waist line was W4. 2. Analysis result of functional effect difference with the location variation of slacks waist line were as follows. In all motions(M1, M2, M3, M4) W2 that downed 7cm-6cm-6cm from natural waist line was valued as the most comfortable, W1 and W5 were valued as discomfortable, where waist line was too high or too low.

  • This study aims to find methodical similarities between pop art and Robert Venturi's works. Pop art and Robert Venturi's works gave attention to periodical changes and wanted to communicate with the public. This study approaches a topic from psychological viewpoints, especially visual dissonance. The results are as follows: 1. Manufactured Products ; Commercial Ornaments ${\rightarrow}$ Character Changes in Experienced Stimulation 2. Daily Elements ; Traditional Elements(Classic) ${\rightarrow}$ Contextual Effect of Canonic Representation In these cases, visual dissonance attracted a lot of public attention, and people would develop new meanings of objet. Pop art and Robert Venturi's works indicated value change in post-industrial society, therefore, this study can help to understand the correlation.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the visual sensibilities of brassiere design. Brassieres were divided into three types according to connection of a cup and a strap. In each type Lace was used where the part of the cup divided by lines which were constructed such as a mold horizontal a vertical a mixed and an oblique design. As a result 39 brassieres were obtained. The experiment has been done for the 39 brassieres with 17 semantic differential bi-polar scales. The subjects were 60 female students majoring in clothing and textiles, The data was analyzed using the statistical SPSS package. The major findings of this research were as follows. 1. As a results of the factor analysis, 3 factors(Attractiveness Appearance. Cuteness) were found to be constructing factors for brassiere image. 2. There were significant differences in the visual evaluation of brassiere design especially in the change of lace. 3. As a result of the regression analysis the images affecting preferences were pretty fascinating natural appropriate sexy and clean.

  • This paper presents a model-based image steganography method based on Watson's visual model. Model-based steganography assumes a model for cover image statistics. This approach, however, has some weaknesses, including perceptual detectability. We propose to use Watson's visual model to improve perceptual undetectability of model-based steganography. The proposed method prevents visually perceptible changes during embedding. First, the maximum acceptable change in each discrete cosine transform coefficient is extracted based on Watson's visual model. Then, a model is fitted to a low-precision histogram of such coefficients and the message bits are encoded to this model. Finally, the encoded message bits are embedded in those coefficients whose maximum possible changes are visually imperceptible. Experimental results show that changes resulting from the proposed method are perceptually undetectable, whereas model-based steganography retains perceptually detectable changes. This perceptual undetectability is achieved while the perceptual quality - based on the structural similarity measure - and the security - based on two steganalysis methods - do not show any significant changes.

  • In telerobot systems, visual servoing of a task object for a slave arm with an eye-in-hand has drawn an interesting attention. As such a task ingenerally conducted in an unstructured environment, it is very difficult to define the inverse feature Jacobian matrix. To overcome this difficulty, this paper proposes an auto-tuning fuzzy rule-based visual servo algorithm. In this algorithm, a visual servo controller composed of fuzzy rules, receives feature errors as inputs and generates the change of have position as outputs. The fuzzy rules are tuned by using steepest gradient method of the cost function, which is defined as a quadratic function of feature errors. Since the fuzzy rules are tuned automatically, this method can be applied to the visual servoing of a slave arm in real time. The effctiveness of the proposed algorithm is verified through a series of simulations and experiments. The results show that through the learning procedure, the slave arm and track object in real time with reasonable accuracy.

  • Purpose: This study examined the difference in the static balance ability according to the visual cues and postural tasks in normal subjects. Methods: Thirty participants (12 male, 18 female; mean age $24.63\pm1.43$ years) stood barefoot on a force platform in a one-legged stance, tandem Romberg stance and tandem Romberg with neck extension stance with a visual cue open and closes. The static balance was assessed by the center of pressure (CoP), surface electromyography root mean square (RMS) of the leg muscles according to the stance position. Results: In the CoP tests, the difference in the unit path length and circumference area was affected by the visual cue according to the stance posture (p<0.01). In the RMS tests, the difference in the tibialis anterior and medial gastrocnemius muscle was affected by visual cue in accordance with the stance posture (p<0.01). Conclusion: The visual cue and postural task affect the balance ability in normal subjects. Therefore, this study provides clinical evidence that the balance and postural control can be improved. Therapeutic intervention, such as an obstacle course, and a lower leg muscle performance program with a change in the base of support can affect the balance and postural control.

The results of this study are as follows: 1) 120 check dresses shown in collections were composed of 57 straight silhouette dresses, 38 fitted silhouette dresses, 23 hourglass silhouette dresses, 1 barrel silhouette dress, and 1 atypical silhouette dress. And check pattern mostly used in the current collections a square pattern of block check, tartan check that is a Scotch traditional lattice pattern, a small lattice pattern of gingham check, over check that other check patterns are arranged on check pattern, star-shaped hound tooth check, glen check mixing small pattern and big pattern. The visual image for check dress differs according to changes in the check pattern and silhouette of the dress. 2) Main expressional words of visual images for block check dresses differ greatly depending on the silhouette of dresses. The visual images are ranked in the order of 'graphic', 'simple', 'hard', 'modern' for straight silhouette of block check dresses. The words of 'lively', 'girlish', 'feminine', 'cute' are ranked for hourglass silhouette of block check dresses. And the words of 'confident', 'feminine', 'modern' are marked down for fitted silhouette of block check dresses.
