  • Most of hospitals, especially small-scale hospitals, have tried to get customers through the Internet as what companies have done recently. There are various attempts that increase visits to one's web-site in plastic surgery hospitals. However, in plastic surgery, there have been few studies on which an attribute contributes to increase the number of web-site visit. In order to derive the important attributes on the number of visit, we compared functional attributes of 30 high-visit plastic surgery web-sites with those of 30 low-visit web-sites using statistical and data mining methods. For analysis, three methods have conducted including Multiple Discriminant Analysis (statistical method), Decision Trees (data mining method), and Artificial Neural Network (data mining method). Furthermore, results of each method have been evaluated one another. The result of this study shows that a few attributes like 'Simulating cyber plastic surgery program', 'recommendation of information' explain the number of the visitors between high and low visit web-site. The methodology employed in this study provides an efficient way of improving satisfaction of visitors of plastic surgery website.

  • The purpose of this research was to derive political suggestion to increase the demand for forest visit by analyzing the demand of forest visitors, focusing on the residents of Seoul and capital areas. The determinants of demand, which is the number of forest visit in a year, were analyzed by independent variables; six factors from factor analysis on selective attributes, demographic characteristics, and other variables related with the general matters when visiting a forest. As a result, among the independent variables, selective attribute (tourism resource factor), gender (male), and residency (Seoul) were found out to have positive(+) effect on demand for forest visit. However, other selective attribute (external factor of forestry), occupation (white-collar employee), and level of education (over college graduate) were found out to have negative(-) effect on demand for forest visit. Based on these results, implications for the expansion of demand for forest visits were derived.

  • Due to the low conversion rate of social commerce, its sustainability is questioned. To solve this problem, this study aims to verify the different antecedents between visit intention and purchase intention. For a visit intention, this study employs the concept of the scarcity heuristic and its momentary characteristic. The scarcity heuristic is created by a scarcity of time and quantity, and provisional coupons. In previous studies, the scarcity heuristic has often been treated as a major factor in which to influence purchase intention. However, this study examines the scarcity heuristic only as an antecedent of the visit intention, not of the purchase intention, because of its momentary characteristic. Contrary to previous studies, as this study expected, the attributes of the scarcity heuristic had a significant relationship only with the visit intention in social commerce. Additionally, the results suggest that there are two distinct intentions in social commerce: visit intention and purchase intention. This study verified that the antecedents of the two distinct intentions are different from one another. This study helps to understand why people visit social commerce sites regularly but do not buy.

  • This study aimed to elucidate the relationship between the selection attributes and visit motivations of Ningxia wineries and tourist satisfaction and intention to revisit. Utilizing multiple linear regression and simple linear regression models, the study quantitatively analyzed tourists' selection attributes and visit motivations for Ningxia wineries. Factor analysis categorized 12 visit motivation variables into four factors: 'Sensation', 'Educational', 'Companion-Friendly', and 'Experiential'. Additionally, 17 selection attribute variables were classified into four factors: 'Service Quality', 'Environmental', 'Facility', and 'Economic'. Through analyzing the impact of visit motivations on satisfaction and revisit intentions, we have identified the pivotal factors as 'Wine Cultural Education', 'Enhanced Companion-Friendliness', and 'Wine Cultural Experience'. In the analysis of the relationship between selection attributes and revisit intentions, crucial elements involve 'Service Quality provided by the winery"'and 'Environmental of the winery'. Conversely, key influencing revisit intentions include 'Environmental of the winery' and 'Costs and Pricing associated with winery visits'. To ensure the sustainable development of the Ningxia winery industry and promote the enduring growth of rural economies, wineries should place greater emphasis on cultivating wine cultural experiences, artisanal activities, and other project endeavors.

  • This study delved into the complex nature of medical services as experience goods and trust services, investigating the profound impact of online word-of-mouth on medical consumers' decisions to visit hospitals. Considering the restrictive legal framework for medical advertising, consumers are increasingly dependent on unrestricted sources of information like online reviews. This research aimed to provide empirical evidence for the significant role online word-of-mouth plays in hospital selection. Utilizing data from Naver reviews, hospital choice factors were classified based on the Kano model, revealing the subtle yet significant influence that word-of-mouth has on consumers' hospital visit intentions beyond merely positive or negative messages. In particular, the study provided insights into how the categorized positive and negative information, along with the presence or absence of emotional expression, affects the efficacy of word-of-mouth. The experiment targeted medical consumers aged over 20 and, through analysis using the SPSS statistical program, yielded important findings. The direction of online word-of-mouth, the presence of emotional expression, and the interaction of Kano attributes all created significant differences in hospital visit intentions. Notably, emotional expression included in negative word-of-mouth concerning one-dimensional attributes markedly decreased visit intentions, whereas the absence of emotional expression in attractive attributes actually enhanced reliability and increased visit intentions. These findings offer critical implications for redefining strategies in medical marketing and online review management. The discoveries of this study underscore the importance of active engagement and strategic management of online reviews by medical service providers, urging careful consideration of the various elements of online word-of-mouth that influence medical consumers' hospital visit intentions.

  • Purpose - The primary purpose of this study is to employ effective marketing methods using market segmentation of coffee shops by determining how motivations to visit coffee shops have different impacts on demographic profile of visitors and characteristics of coffee shop visits, so as to draw out a better understanding of customers of coffee market. Research design, data, and methodology - Data were collected using surveys of self-administered questionnaires toward coffee shop users in Daejeon, Korea. A number of samples used in data analysis were 253 excluding unusable responses. The data were analyzed through frequency, reliability, and factor analysis using SPSS 20.0. Factor analysis was conducted through the principal component analysis and varimax rotation method to derive factors of one or more eigen values. In addition, the cluster analysis, multivariate ANOVA, and cross-tab analysis were used for the market segmentation based on the types of motivation for coffee shop visits. The process of the cluster analysis is as follows. Four clusters were derived through hierarchical clustering, and k-means cluster analysis was then carried out using mean value of the four clusters as the initial seed value. Result - The factor analysis delineated four dimensions of motivation to visit coffee shops: ostentation motivation, hedonic motivation, esthetic motivation, utility motivation. The cluster analysis yielded four clusters: utility and esthetic seekers, hedonic seekers, utility seekers, ostentation seekers. In order to further specify the profile of four clusters, each cluster was cross tabulated with socio-demographics and characteristics of coffee shop visits. Four clusters are significantly different from each other by four types of motivations for coffee shop visits. Conclusions - This study has empirically examined the difference in demographic profile of visitors and characteristics of coffee shop visits by motivation to visit coffee shops. There are significant differences according to age, education background, marital status, occupation and monthly income. In addition, coffee shops use pattern characterization in frequency of visits to coffee shops, relationships with companion, purpose of visit, information sources, brand type, average expense per visit, important elements of selection attribute were significantly different depending on motivations for coffee shop visits.
