네티즌의 가족/친족관련 가치관과 태도 (A Study on the Attitude about the Family/Kinship Life of Netizen)

  • The purpose of this exploratory study was to investigate how the information society affected the attitude about the family/kinship life of Netizen. For this goal, the data were collected from 305 Netizen who use the Internet. The major findings were as follows. Firstly, In Netizen, the support to familism and boy preference was low level. Secondly, in their altitude to the divorce and remarriage, there was a tendency which accepts a marriage with selection. Thirdly, they had a tendency to agree equal partnership in couple relationship. Fourthly, virtual community in cyber-space was found, but the loyalty of members was not enough strong. Fifthly, in the family/kin rites, it was showed non-traditional tendency. And in all aspects, some differences were found between men and women. The findings of the present study suggest that the couple relationship in the information society becomes more important, and there is a tend to increase acceptability to increase. In contrast, there is stiff another discrimination in cyber-space by focusing on traditional mother route.

A Social Network Analysis of a Virtual Community of Practice

  • This paper investigates the relationship between the structural characteristics of a virtual CoP and the measures of social network analysis. Several implications were developed by the results of the study First, the study, based on reviews of both the CoP and SNA literature, identified specific structural measures of SNA; connectedness, geodesic distance, and density. Second, the formal CoP investigated in this study showed greater development that the classic, informal CoP in terms of the structural dimension of a CoP. The results show that those measures of social network analysis provide an illuminating way to better understand the structural properties of CoP's. Implications of the study with some suggestions for future research are provided.

Sponsored Online Community Types and Participant's Perceived Value

  • The growth of social media has enabled firms to create virtual organizations (online communities) in which value can be co-created with members. Yet, current typologies of firm-sponsored online communities focus either on the firm or participants, and not the interaction between them. This paper provides a systematic review of the online community literature from 2000 to 2018 to develop an understanding of the types of firm-sponsored online communities and the co-creation of value within them. Four types of sponsored online communities are found. These can be differentiated based on the output for the sponsoring firm and the level of self-organization of the communities. This study contributes to the discussion of value co-creation by (i) shedding light on differences among firm-sponsored online community types based on the level and nature of interaction within an online community; and (ii) examining the perceived value co-created through community interactive experiences.

A Study on Metaverse Hype for Sustainable Growth

  • Metaverse is an immersive 3D virtual environment, a true virtual artificial community in which avatars act as the user's alter ego and interact with each other. If we do not manage the hype for the metaverse, which has recently been receiving a surge in interest, the metaverse will fail to cross the chasm. In this study, to provide stakeholders with insights for the successful introduction and growth of the 3D immersive next-generation virtual world, metaverse, we analyzed user-side interest, media-side interest, and research-side interest. For this purpose, in this study, search traffic, news frequency and topic, and research article frequency and topic were analyzed. The methodology and results of this study are expected to provide insight for the stable success of metaverse transformation and the coexistence of the real world and the virtual world through hyper-connection and hyper-convergence.

The Effect of Ideal Avatar on Virtual Brand Experience in XR Platform

  • Purpose: This study aims to verify whether avatars that embody different brand concepts offer different experiences to users. Furthermore, this study explores the relationship between user identification with avatars and their actual brand purchase intentions. Research design, data and methodology: The research design employed a between-subjects approach, with two independent variables: brand concept and avatar. The measured dependent variables were brand experience in extended reality (XR) and purchase intention. Additionally, brand attitude served as a control variable. Results: First, in virtual brand spaces with symbolic benefits, ideal avatars were found to elicit higher levels of brand experience than actual avatars. Specifically, participants reported elevated levels of entertainment and relational assembly experiences in symbolic brand spaces. Second, this research reveals that the relationship between users' identification with avatars and their intention to make actual brand purchases is mediated by brand experience in XR. Conclusions: The findings suggest that ideal avatars evoke higher levels of brand experience within symbolic brand spaces, particularly in entertainment, relational connection, and a sense of community. Furthermore, this study establishes the role of brand experience in XR as a mediator between avatar identification and purchase intentions.

Virtual 실행공동체의 진단 방법론 개발 (Developing the Methodology for Diagnosing Virtual Community of Practice)

  • Much of knowledge that can retain a company's competitive advantage remains within the organization. However, identifying, finding and leveraging knowledge in an organization is still problematic [17]. Although knowledge is the key to success, it is simply too valuable to be left in an organization [59]. The CoP (Community of Practice) within an organization is a practical way to manage knowledge in an organization as systematically as other critical assets in order to deploy and share it [59]. However, research related with CoP, has focused on the value of CoP. Therefore, we developed not only a holistic and systematic method for understanding and assessing the current position of CoP but also a method for extracting the core strategies and CSFs of CoP based on performance evaluation. We developed strategies, CSF (Critical Success Factor) and PM (Performance Measure)s of CoP based on BSC (Balanced Scorecard) process. Specifically, CSFs and strategies of CoP were extracted based on maturity model and type of CoP. According to the procedure from the methodology to evaluate the performance of CoP, three different industrial cases were adopted to validate the evaluation methodology.

지역 대학 e-Learning 센터의 전략적 역할분석에 관한 연구 (An Empirical Assessment of the Strategic Roles of e-Learning Center in the Community of Local Universities)

  • Today, many universities are confronted with the changing education paradigm such as e-Learning, Distance Education, Virtual University. This IT-based learning paradigm shift is certainly a new opportunity or a threat to our universities. The Local University Community e-Learning Centers that support the demand of e-Learning for their community are recommended. Tn order to operate these centers efficiently, the strategic roles of the e-Learning center should first be defined. To define the strategic roles, We classified the strategic roles of the e-Learning center into four dimensions, (1) to improve management efficiency, (2) to enhance educational service, (3) to acquire competitive advantages, (4) to build new education infrastructure, and each dimension has S or 6 measurement items. As result, to enhance the educational service was considered as the most significant factor among the four dimensions of strategic roles, and the infrastructure building was the next. Through the strategic roles definition and analysis of expected role ratings, we could have recommended the direction and operation policies of the e-Learning centers.

  • Metabus, a three-dimensional virtual environment for digital communication, has gained a lot of attention recently. Even so, there are still many unanswered questions about the user's consciousness and behavior. A difference in nature from conventional digital communication is also unclear. This paper aims to study Metabus on a hypothetical premise by organizing the possibility of Metabus for communication activation based on a research project aimed at using Metabus to support the formation of a community of school dormitories and studio rental residents. After reviewing the establishment process and application cases of Metabus, we focus on the character (avatar) used as the user's alter ego within the metabus, which will allow customization of both form and content different from text-based communication. The "physicality" and the "spatiality" of the metaverse and the "immersion" they bring are among the most important, functional innovations. Based on this summary, a case of using metabuses will be reviewed to describe the research plan aimed at supporting community formation.

  • As global competition of enterprises heats up recently, there is a growing the need to introduce business knowledge platform. Many enterprises work with other partners in a variety of situations and collaboration has emerged as new competitiveness of them. Collaboration improves the performance of members, and besides it has an important bearing on innovation, result, and increased productivity of enterprise. Lots of businesses, locally and abroad, extend the environment of collaboration and try to share business contents efficiently. In addition, they look into ways of invigorating collaboration by providing community tools. Corporations and Governments around the world are pushing smart work to respond effectively to this paradigm change. Smart work provides many types of collaboration and raises the productivity. Various infrastructures should be constructed for activating smart work. Most of all, core technology is to be developed. Virtual Cluster is the space of collaboration corresponding to change in business paradigm. In overseas policy of Virtual Cluster has been already enforced as an alternative to geographical cluster. The establishment and development of collaboration platform through Virtual Cluster can contribute to business competitiveness by smart work.
