실험계획법을 이용한 시야각 변환 디스플레이의 최적 설계 (Optimized Design of Variable Viewing Angle Display Using Design of Experiment)

  • Non-emissive LCDs need a backlight, and have difficulty implementing wide viewing angles due to differences in phase retardation depending on the behavior of the liquid crystals. Although wide viewing angles are good characteristics for devices such as TVs, they are not good for mobile devices. In this paper, we propose ways to design diffusers with ELC lenses to achieve wide and narrow viewing angles depending on the circumstances. A study was conducted on optimizing the design of a liquid lens diffuser with the same light as that for an OLED, by extracting design factors that affect the performance of the diffuser and applying the Taguchi method to them.

시각적 피로도에 영향을 미치는 시청거리와 깊이방향의 운동속도 (The effect of viewing distance and the speed of motion-in-depth on visual fatigue)

  • 본 연구에서는 입체 영상이 가지는 특성과 시청환경의 특성에 따라 입체 영상을 시청할 때 발생할 수 있는 시각적 피로도를 체계적으로 살펴보기 위해 깊이방향의 운동속도와 응시거리 각각을 입체 영상과 시청환경의 대표적인 특성으로 삼고 각 요인에 의해 발생되는 시각적 피로도를 측정하였다. 시각적 피로도는 눈통증 요인, 시각적 스트레스, 어지러움 요인, 신체 통증 요인, 상흐림 요인으로 구성된 피로도 측정도구를 이용하여 주관적인 시각적 피로도를 측정하였다. 실험 1에서는 깊이 방향의 운동속도를 변화시킨 자극을 40분간 제시하면서 10분, 20분, 40분에 시각적 피로도를 측정하였다. 측정결과 전체 피로도 점수는 시청시간이 증가함에 따라 높아졌지만 운동 속도에 따른 차이를 보이지 않았다. 다섯 개의 하위척도들 중 어지러움 하위척도 점수에 서만 운동 속도가 증가할수록 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 실험 2에서는 동일한 입체 영상을 응시거리만 변화시켜가면서 시각적 피로도를 측정하였다. 전체 피로도 점수는 시청시간이 증가함에 따라 높아졌지만 응시거리에 따른 차이는 발견되지 않았다. 다섯 개의 하위 척도들 중 상흐림 하위척도 점수에서만 응시거리가 멀어질수록 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 입체 영상의 특성이나 시청환경에 따라 시각피로도가 변화될 수 있음을 보여주며, 시각피로도를 발생시키는 요인에 따라 각기 다른 종류의 시각피로도가 발생할 수 있음을 보여준다.

포스트 TV 시대의 텔레비전 시청 경험에 관한 질적 연구: 20대들과의 심층 인터뷰를 중심으로 (Television Viewing in the Post-TV Era: An In-depth Interview Study of Young People's Television Experiences)

  • 지난 십수 년 동안 텔레비전을 시청할 수 있는 플랫폼이 다양해지고 다양한 미디어 형식을 결합시킨 소비가 손쉽게 일어나며 국내 지상파 방송 프로그램 이외의 프로그램 자원이 풍부해지는 포스트 TV 시대가 전개된다. 이 연구는 미디어 환경 변화에 따라 텔레비전 시청 경험의 성격과 의미가 어떻게 달라지고 있는지를 주목해보고자 한다. 특히 월터 옹(Walter Ong)의 관계주의적 시각에서 현재의 텔레비전 시청 환경, 시공간 경험, 사회적 장소로서의 텔레비전, 텔레비전 시청의 의미와 위상 등을 구체적으로 관찰해보고자 한다. 이를 위해 29명의 20대에 대한 심층 인터뷰 조사를 진행하였고, 이러한 인터뷰 사례를 기초로 일상 속에 이용하는 커뮤니케이션 체계가 변화하면서 텔레비전의 의미와 적절성이 어떻게 바뀌고 있는지를 구체적으로 기술하고 이해해보고자 하였다. 이들의 사례는 텔레비전 시청 경로가 다변화되고 소셜 미디어 이용과 연결되면서 텔레비전 시청 개념이 확장되고 있음을 시사한다. 물리적, 상징적 '모이는' 장소로서의 텔레비전의 의미가 여전히 '잔존'하지만, '집단적인 개인화'와 '개인적 집단화' 라는 다양한 층위의 시청 경험이 만들어지고 있음을 보여주고 있다.

전시배치방식 유형과 관람행동 상관성 분석 - 국립중앙과학관 상설전시관을 중심으로 - (An Analysis on the Relationship Between Exhibition Arrangement Types and Viewing Behaviors - Focusing on the Permanent Exhibition Halls at the National Science Museum -)

  • Founded on a close relationship between exhibition scenarios and media, this study was conducted 1) to establish exhibition arrangement types by using three analytical indicators, such as arrangement types of exhibition, groupings of similar exhibition media, and exhibition density; and 2) to demonstrate the importance of considering the characteristics of exhibition arrangement types by using viewing behavior codes as a major analytical indicator. The following three types were investigated in this research: First, the Independent type (Type C) was found to be strongly influenced by architectural and spatial forms, especially by low exhibition density and high visual information. Also, compared with the Wall Dominant type, low number of viewing behavior codes and distribution was found even though there were high correlations among viewing behavior codes. This is assumed to be due to low exhibition density. Second, the Wall Dominant type (Type A) was found to be not influenced by architectural and spatial forms. This is because space is planned and restructured centering on the wall type showcases. At the planning stage of exhibition, it is easy to divide or combine space according to the contents and structure of exhibition scenarios. Compared with the Independent type, low correlations were found among viewing behavior codes. This is due to low participation or manipulation exhibitions. However, this implies that more active viewing behaviors can be induced if appropriate exhibition techniques and arrangement methods are used for each exhibition content. Third, the Independent Dominant type (Type B) was found to confuse visitors in selecting routes by displaying too many exhibits at a limited space in a disorderly fashion. It failed to attract visitors to the main exhibition area, where a big space is formed in the center. Visitors were found to view exhibits that are arranged near the major traffic line.

의류제품 구매 시 케이블 TV 홈쇼핑 이용특성에 따른 충동구매유형에 관한 연구 (Impulsive Buying Types Related to Cable TV Home-Shopping Usage Characteristics in Apparel Product Buying)

  • This study examined what differences were shown in the types of impulsive buying according to consumers' viewing circumstance, previous purchasing experience, and demographic factors on CATV home-shopping. For this study, data were obtained from adult women in twenties to fifties who have frequently viewed CATV home-shopping. The questionnaire was composed of three sections; characteristics of home-shopping usage, behaviors of impulsive buying and demographic factors. Data from 403 questionnaires were used for the statistical analysis. The results of this study were as following. First, four factors of impulsive buying types were identified. Second, differences in impulsive buying according to viewing circumstance of TV home-shopping were significant. New products were easily accepted by consumers who were reminded of previous needs with more viewing time and frequent viewing chances. Also, differences in impulsive buying according to the reason of viewing were meaningful only for the 'reminder impulsive buying. Third, consumers with more previous purchase experiences had higher reminder impulsive buying on home-shopping. Fourth, there were significant differences in age and marital status according to impulsive buying. The biggest difference was shown in the 'planned impulsive buying' corresponding to age and in the 'reminder impulsive buying' to marital status.

공연시설 객석공간의 단면유형 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Section Type Characteristic of the Audience's Space in Performing Facilities)

  • In the viewing of public performance arts, it needs to make space construction appropriate for performance purposes, because the section type has an effect on audience's inspection. Therefore, this study researches the intentional characteristics and comprehends the relationship between correlation factors to influence on section type of audience space in performance facilities. In addition to, this study comes under fundamental research to propose the course of standard plan, accord with diverse requirement, in the special performance facilities which will be built up. The results as following; 1) The factors that influence the section type of the audience's space in performing facilities are divided as two elements. The first element is construction of space, viewing environment, and the second element is visual characteristic, and acoustic characteristic. 2) The section type are classified as six types, A-type(Flated type), B-type(Sloped type), C-type(Gabled type), D-type(Arched type), E-type(Reverse arched type), and F-type(Reverse sloped type). 3) Characteristics are deduced by the section type, construction of space and viewing environment are restricted by the characteristics of the section type.

  • The electro-optical characteristics of the In-Plane switching Twisted nematic (IT) mode were studied. The advantage of this mode is not only the wide viewing angle characteristics without adopting any compensation films, but also the wide cell gap error margin. The electro-optical characteristics of IT mode were evaluated by the experiments and computer simulation. In this paper, we studied the viewing angle characteristics, color-shift and response time.

조망경관계획에서 조망점 설정 특성에 관한 연구 -전라남도 중소도시 사례를 대상으로- (A Study on Characteristics of the View point Setting in Urban scape Plan -In the case of the Regional Small & Medium Cities in Jeollanamdo-)

  • This study is designed to examine characteristics and types of basic landscape design established by 7 local governments in Jeollanam-do and its availability as the index of landscape administration and present a guideline with view landscape plan of local governments. The results of this study are described below. In case of view landscape, while Korean cities have not many historical assets like landmark, they have locational characteristics with mountain or coast in the center or surroundings of downtown. Therefore, since view landscape has many cases of restricting individual property rights as well as having a value as public property of city which makes recognition of sharing city, it is very sensitive problem and establishing guideline of it is needed. But, it was found that view landscape plan of local governments established location of view spot with the nature of relief viewing downtown or coast from high spot. Selection of viewing objects in view plan require deciding an object as the public property of city and big cities require selection from the zone and small cities must select 1~2 spots from the viewpoint of whole downtown. 3~4 view spots of middle and distant views which makes city community centering around the subject of view must be selected through enough discussion and in case of natural landscape, View shaft or visible rays require setting of range that 30% of viewing objects is seen. View spot or viewing objects should be selected over twice as extra spots through public hearing and civil participation as the process.

  • 액정 표시소자에 쓰이는 위상판의 시야각특성을 확장된 존즈행렬과, 이것의 뽀앙카레공(Poincare sphere)에서의 기하학적 회전변환으로 해석하였다. 위상판의 회전변환 특성은 시야각이 바뀌면 회전축은 적도선 위에 있고, 회전각이 시야각에 따라 크게 변한다. 광축의 방향이 다른 두 장의 위상판을 겹쳐쓰면 이런 특성을 보정할 수 있고, 이 방법을 써서 BTN 셀의 시야각 특성을 개선할 수 있었음을 보였다.

인터랙티브 드라마의 시청동기, 몰입, 시청만족도, 시청충성도 간 관계에 관한 연구: 중국 시청자를 중심으로 (A Study on the Relationships among Audience Motivation, Viewing Flow, Satisfaction, and Loyalty in Watching Interactive Drama: Focused on Chinese Audience)

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to understand the motivating factors of Chinese audience who watch the interactive drama, and suggest the effects of audience' motivation on viewing flow, satisfaction, and loyalty. Design/methodology/approach - To achieve the purpose of the study, a questionnaire survey on the Internet was conducted from September 26, 2021 to October 14, 2021, and data from 332 Chinese respondents were collected. Findings - Findings of this study are 1) audience motivation of watching the interactive drama is composed of 6 factors including the pursuit of entertainment and information, curiosity, interaction, sense of control and indirect experience; 2) the pursuit of entertainment and information, interaction and indirect experience have positive effects on viewing flow; 3) all six factors of audience motivation have positive effects on audience satisfaction; 4) four motivating factors including the pursuit of entertainment, curiosity, interaction and indirect experience have positive effects on audience loyalty. 5) viewing flow and audience satisfaction respectively has some partial mediating effects on the relationship between audience motivation and audience loyalty. Research implications or Originality - Results of this study suggest that in order to increase audience loyalty to interactive dramas, in addition to fulfilling the pursuit of entertainment, which is the basic motive for watching any drama, it is important to fulfill motivating factors related to the unique characteristics of interactive dramas such as curiosity, interaction, and indirect experience. In order for these motivating factors to lead to audience loyalty, it is more effective when viewing flow and audience satisfaction are accompanied.
