Materialized View Selection using Decision Tree in Data Warehouse (데이터 웨어하우스에서 의사결정 트리를 이용한 실체화 뷰 선택 기법)

  • 실체화 뷰 선택은 질의 수행 시간과 제한된 저장 공간 등의 유지 비용을 고려하여 최적의 실체화 뷰 집합을 선택하고 유지하는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 의사결정 트리를 이용한 실체화 뷰 선택기법을 제안한다. 제안기법은 의사결정 트리를 이용하여 실체화 뷰로 생성될 질의를 판단하고 실체화 뷰 교체가 필요한 경우 메타데이터 테이블을 이용하여 교체 대상을 결정한다. 의사결정 트리는 높은 우선순위를 가진 속성으로부터 차례대로 데이터를 분류하기 때문에 이용도가 높은 실체화 뷰를 선택하는 방법을 제공하고 메타데이터 테이블은 실체화 뷰 집합의 빠른 교체 수행과 효율적인 유지보수를 제공한다. 성능평가를 통해 제안된 기법은 실체화 뷰 비율에 따른 질의처리 시간이 기존기법보다 약 13%의 성능 향상을 보였다.

  • This paper investigates the importance and satisfaction levels according to factors on commercial Enterprise Resource Planning(ERP) packages in the view of end users when the ERP system is employed especially in SMEs. Considering the characteristics and functions of ERP packages, five factors (vendor, technology, function, A/S, price) are obtained based on the literature review. The proposed procedure consists of finding importance factors and satisfaction levels which support the selection of ERP packages for a certain SME. When a company tries to implement the ERP system, the findings in this paper suggest which ERP package is suitable for its own business environment.

  • Currently there is no dental ceramic material can be used in all dental situations need to be restored. However, in view of recent clinical reports, the most viable alternative is zirconia ceramic. Clinical success of dental zirconia restorations strongly depends on proper selection of materials, accurate laboratory procedure and final cementation, which can be achievable with the correct understanding of zirconia. As dental materials, zirconia ceramics have a very bright future, because they are being used increasingly in the anterior region as implant fixtures, as well as crown and bridge restorations and implant abutments. Many dental ceramics showing poor clinical performance have been gone from the dental market. However, in terms of outstanding mechanical properties and esthetic nature, new dental materials can replace zirconia ceramics will not be available in the foreseeable future.

  • Microscopic imaging system often requires the algorithm to adjust location of camera lenses automatically in machine level. An effort to detect the best focal point is naturally interpreted as a mathematical inverse problem [1]. Following Wiener's point of view [2], we interpret the focus level of images as the quantified factor appeared in image degradation model: g = $f{\ast}H+{\eta}$, a standard mathematical model for understanding signal or image degradation process [3]. In this paper we propose a simple, very fast and robust method to compare the degradation parameters among the multiple images given by introducing outlier analysis of histogram.

Investigation on Numerical Integration for Radiation Heat Transfer in Radiating Fluid (복사유체의 복사열전달 수치 적분에 관한 연구)

  • Interaction between fluid flow and thermal radiation has received considerable attention due to its numerous applications in engineering field. In this case the thermofluid properties of radiating fluid vary with the variation of temperature field caused by absorption and emission of radiant heat. To analyze the radiation heat transfer in radiating fluid, the simultaneous solution of the radiative transfer equation (RTE) and the fluid dynamics equations is required. This means that the numerical procedure used for the RTE must be computationally efficient to permit its inclusion in the other submodels, and must be compatible with the other transport equations. The finite volume method (FVM) and the discrete ordinates method (DOM) are usually employed to simulate radiation problems in generalized coordinates. These two representative methods are examined and compared, especially in view of the numerical integration of the radiation intensity over solid angle. The FVM shows better accuracy than the DOM owing to less constraints of the selection of control angle.

  • 특징점 기반 건물인식 시스템에서는 강건한 특징점을 추출하는 것이 인식률 향상에 바로 직결되는 중요한 요소이다. 영상에서 특징점들이 너무 많이 추출되는 경우 인식이나 학습단계에서의 알고리즘 수행 시간을 증가시키는 원인이 된다. 또환 중요하지 않은 특징점(배경이나 가려짐 영역, 기타 객체에서 추출된 특징점)이나 조명 변화에 민감한 영역에서 임의로(arbitrarily) 추출된 특징점은 인식률을 저하시키는 문제를 발생시킨다. 특히 도시환경에서 촬영된 영상의 특징점을 추출할 때 이러한 문제 현상들이 빈번하게 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하고자 multi-view 영상에서 건물의 homography를 기반으로 정확히 정합된 특징점인 inlier만을 선택하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. Inlier로 분류된 특징점들은 건물 인식 시스템을 구성하기 위해 사용되고 조명 변화에 민감한 영역에서 임의로 추출된 특징점들은 영역 기반 특징을 추출하여 건물 인식 시스템의 인식률을 높인다. 또한 이를 이용하여 인식하고자 하는 건물과의 상관관계가 적은 잉여 영상들을 DB에서 제거하는 방법도 제안한다. 실험을 통하여 제안하는 기법의 우수성을 보였다.

  • The purpose of this study has been finding where GMDH (Group Method of Data Handling) lies in accordance with comparing other methods and ascertaining the effectiveness of GMDH at the systems of forecasting method. Other methods used for the comparison are: multiple regression model, Brown's third exponential smoothing model. Also the study has reviewed how the expected value and equatior are changed by GMDH. At the same time, the study has also reviewed various characteristics made with comparatively a few data. In conclusion, GMDH is better than the other method in point of view fitness, high effectiveness in self-selection and self-construction of the variables.

  • The determination of firing order is very significant procedure in initial stage of design for medium speed diesel engine. Generally, the selection of firing order has been accomplished in view of minimum excitation forces condition. In this paper all possible firing orders under the given number of cylinder were considered to decide the optimum. Meanwhile torsional vibration characteristics using the phase vector sum method and minimum excitation force concept were applied. From these results, some superior cases were selected. And then, the torsional vibration response analysis and the resonance characteristics of engine structure were investigated for the final decision.

Major contents of standardization are the selection of standardization area and management of standardization timing under limited resources. The developments of standardization road map and its driving strategy in construction area are important policy subjects in view of investment scale and national economy. In this paper, we aim to survey on the standardization theory and its application in construction field and suggest research direction for driving strategy of standardization road map development.
